I've installed TomTom 7 (7.4.50.9028 repack 3) and purchased a TomTom 720 map (v7.20.1803) which installs and works fine on the device.
But I cannot get map share to work. I've created an account at My TomTom and set my device to TomTom 720. I've enabled mapshare on TomTom on the device.
When I first start TomTom Home (v 2.3.1.92) I says I have an invalid TomTom installation, but clicking OK lets me proceede. In to upper right corner it says my map is 41 week out of date and that there is 26713 corrections waiting. But when I select "Update my PocketPC" it says that "The TomTOm server did not understand your request. Maybe your HOME version is outdated". But I have the latest version.
I've tried various tips like deleting "ttnavigator.bif" but that does not help.
Have anyone gotten map share to work?
Have you ask Tomtom support how to get mapshare to work? I think you should ask them
I have been exchanging some e-mails with TomTom. In France, the ppc version is not yet out but just about to be.
They have advised me to wait few days until the 7 comes out, then to buy the new version.
Until now I have been operating version 5.21 with success and no trouble, but human being such, one needs to upgrade, LOL

Hi there
I've got my xda Diamond Pro today! All things like Sync with Outlook, transfer data and so worked fine. But I've quite some problems:
TomTomNavigator 7:
I installed TomTomHome on my Notebook and buyed maps of WesterEurope at TomTom-Shop. Then I tried to install the maps, but TTHome doesn't see my phone. But its connected correctly and activesync works as well!
Is there a hint, to get maps installed and TTHome working with XDA Diamond Pro???
TouchFlo3D:
There is no "Remove"-Option on bottom of "Programs"-Page... So I can't remove some unusefull programs!
If you could help me, it would really great!
EnzephaloN
Tomtom 7 is not supported on the touch pro and therefore you need to contact tomtom and get your money back. This has been detailed on another thread. Rumour has it that there might be a version released in October. Suggest you do a search on the forum.
Sorry, but my xda diamond pro (same as HTC Touch Pro) originally came with TomTomNavigator7 installed on it!! So it has to be compatible!
I also was able to install the one free map (only a small map of my region).
Any more ideas?
AND:
How can I remove items from the TouchFlo-Menu? I don't need "Internet" and "Weather" there!
EnzephaloN
How much was your pro on O2? MOnthly charge? I cant see it on the site, i was unaware it was released on tht network yet. Business user perhaps?
I bought it in germany, cause I'm from germany. It costs 199€ with new contract, 279€ -399€ with contract-extention and 799€ without contract.
If it is tomtom navigator 7 and not 6, then all i can suggest is to make sure you have the latest version of tomtom home. Tomtom home checks a file on the pda to check what model it is - in the case of the touch pro, the file contains a description of rapheal which is not recognised by tomtom home and will therefore not connect. I presume this was done to stop people using cooked roms from the diamond to get hold of tomtom 7. Currently tomtom 7 software is not available to buy on its own.
If its tomtom 6, then there is a different version of home to install.
Its defenitly TTNavigator7! See: O2 Online XDA Diamond Pro
Does anyone know, which file has to be edited in which way?
EnzephaloN
I've tried editing the file, but its always over written by tomtom.
As you have a supported version, i suggest you contact tomtom directly. It may just be that tomtom home has not been updated yet to support the touch pro?!? This could be good news for all of us waiting for tomtom7 to work on the touch pro!!!! Let us know how you get on.
Looking at the tomtom website, the map download options still only list the diamond and not the touch pro. Guess it is a matter of waiting for an update.
Hi All
just upgraded (or should that be downgraded) to a TD2 but I cant get either version of TT 6 or 7 to install. In both cases it tells me the software/device are incompatible...
Device data WM 6.1 pro build 21042.1.6.1
processor MSM7200A - 528MHz
All assistance greatly appreciated as I want/need it for my hols startin Sat!!
Thanks
Pete
The only advice I can give as I don;t have mine yet is post on the TD2 forum... there are lots of TomTom threads there
TT7 7.45 cab works, TT6 works too - what are you doing as I had it running fine.
Hi
I had purchased v6 originally and it wasn't recognised by my PDA. I bought v7 and it told e that it was incompatible with the device as well as screwing up TT home. From that and searching in here I found a cab file for a version called 7.95 which works but only recognises maps of Spain and Pertugal which I had purchased through TT home prior to the upgrade.
It wont recognise either v7 or v6 maps of UK no matter what I try (no code works) I am told this is because TT7 is free but the maps cost and self install/authorise without the user needing to enter an authorisation code.
TT support told me that their support doesn't cover TD2 as they haven't tested it yet...therefore I'm stuck...
I know i'm going to get blasted about no warez slogans but if TomTom aren't going to support it for some time then i guess they don't deserve your money right now, warez it and then when it gets supported, you might want to consider buying it.
It's better than not having a gps on hand.
tom tom more maps
I installed tom tom and it works. i installed 1 map (western europa).. tehn i want to install another (center en eastern europa) but this did not work.. Can i install 2 maps on 1 device? or is this not possible?
Hello,
I was searching and searching for days to find a working version of Tomtom 7 for my Vox.
Finally, I found one
Here are the instructions:
Based on HTC VOX...
Just drop the navigator folder and the maps you want
onto your phone/pda's memorycard.
Download Fakecursor: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FX5VQO87 and put the long poc file in the /windows/ folder!
Then just start the app on your phone and and have a long keypress of the voicecall button to run Fakecursor.
Hopefully it will work fine
Remember, this is only the application!
You can buy maps in the Tomtom store
Application: http://hotfile.com/dl/5914421/54f154c/tomtomwmapp.rar.html
Have fun!
I just don't want to enter into legal stuff (I mean that also the software itself is intellectual property of TOMTOM so....)
BTW I'm here just to advise you that time ago a version that doesn't need a fake cursor was leaked and released... something like v 7.915 (9195) i don't remeber the exact one...
Regards
I tought that downloading the software itself without maps is not illegal.
V7,915 didn't work for me..
what gps you use for vox
You can use each bluetooth gps.
I use an Iblue 737 with MTK chipset, always a fix within 10 seconds
Hi!
Just bought the TOM TOM Navigator 7 from a retailer in Sweden.
Its the 1OK0.054.01 delivered on a 2 GB SD.
The "Application version = 7.910" (found in the "Release file")
Trying to install the CAB file from SD or copying it to internal memory (installing it from there) gives the same error:
"Your device is not compatible with this version of TomTom NAVIGATOR 7"
My Diamond 2 is brand new (1 day) delivered with WM 6.5 from factory.
I have looked around quite a lot but it seems like no one have this problem.
Due to the fact that the Diamond 2 IS supported according to TOM TOM today it makes me quite...upset.
Thanks
put your sd card in a reader and connect to TomTomHome maybe it wil upgrade you to the latest version of tomtom.
Your version is old the latest version that works on the TD2 is 7.918.9193
Hi!
Thanks for your help but it did not work.
Tried to update SD card with TOM TOM Home 2.
After reading the help section it clearly states that Navigator is not upgradable that way. Seems only to compatible with stand alone units from TOM TOM with cards..
So... This will be a tricky one...
Any other solution?
Hi,
there's a working Tomtom7 version (7.916) available for download here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=556316 . Make sure you choose the WVGA version. From what I've read around and from the fact that the post hasn't been closed since years, I assume that it is legal. Be also aware that you will need a "clipped audio fix", look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=513621.
You should be able to register and run the maps you purchased.
Ciao!
Ah, I almost forgot...here's a little "extra" I've implemented: use the hardware zoombar to zoom in/out Tomtom maps! Look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5000902&postcount=58 . Enjoy
clipped audio is no longer necessary with the latest versions
Hope someone can point me in the right direction. I have TT7 for my HD2 and now need to buy the North American maps. But when I go to the TomTom US site, there's no listing for the map, and in fact they don't even list Windows Mobile software as being available at all - only iPhone, which is pretty obnoxious where I'm concerned.
Am I doing something wrong? Has TomTom abandoned the Windows Mobile platform? What gives?
Bump. Anyone?
Bump. Yeah I've been looking too.
Try ***warez site link removed*** their site is down at the moment, but should be back in a week or so.
I understand the site has been hacked and will take a look at them when they're back, but why would we want to go there rather than buying maps directly from the vendor? Just asking - I don't understand, and it seems you know something.
When you go there, you will see.
Since the site is down due to a hack with no indication of when it'll be back, maybe one of you guys will spare me the suspense and just say what's going on if you know?

Ok, now go and try to select North America and see what happens.
TOMTOM has officially abandoned the US market for TOMTOM Navigator 7 and above, "Due to difficulties with US Cell Service providers"
Except for iPhone because Apple will apparently "work with them", while the other providers won't.
The latest US maps that will work with TT7 on the HD2 are the 825 series. The 845 series appear to be incompatible with WM6.5, which is why TOMTOM won't sell anyone the USA maps for Navigator anymore.

Please quote or link to source of your information because it seems contradictory. TomTom is independent of cell service as it's based on hardware GPS, and iPhone is... a phone, so if there are "difficulties with US Cell Service providers, that would include AT&T, the iPhone partner here in US. Furthermore, the HD2 was recently added on the TomTom site as a supported device, so again your information sounds strange. Color me confused.
i found the maps on the tomtom site or you can download them as a torrent.

Link, to US/CAN maps, please. I don't see them anywhere. I go through the steps of selecting my device, and get to the three boxes where they display the regions, but there is no selection for US/Canada.
I'd rather buy them legally than download them as a torrent.

This from US TomTom support phone-line. The polite young lady on the phone said she went and checked with her supervisor, and with her tech support desk. I am a long time TOMTOM user and was fairly insistent on getting an answer. She was very insistent on 'Can't help you - it will never be available in the US on anything but iPhone.'. Polite, but insistent.
So I regretfully hacked it. It works very well, allowed me to download one city map for free, and I don't expect to get updates for the USA and Canada map I am using. I would have been happy to pay them, I begged them to allow me to pay them...

my bad, i looked and they have maps, but no US . i guess they dont sell them anymore so i guess the torrent is the only option.
i dont know if this helps but i just downloaded the one free map for my city (san diego). of course i didnt try and buy other one and so i dont know if it works.
Any progress on this...?
Thought I'd bump this to see if anything has changed since the last post.
I'm looking to upgrade to Navigator 7 so I can have a version of TT that 'works' on my HD2 (i.e. correct screen format). Plus I want to be able to use the updated maps.
I need to be able to run with both UK/Europe maps and North America maps (for my trips to the US). I am happy to buy these maps from TT. I'm not looking here for free maps!
It seems that TT (for reasons we can only speculate on) still do not support North America maps on Navigator 7.
Has anybody managed to find a solution to this (e.g. Navigator 7 with an older version of NA maps or even a 'fix' to allow Navigator 6 to switch to WVGA mode)?
