[Request] Flashable bootscreen - Hero CDMA Themes and Apps

I was wondering if someone could make me a bootscreen that i can simply just flash over. I have clockwork mod 3 and im running aosp gigngerbread 2. Would a bootscreen be compatible with all roms right? Cause youre just flashing a diff screen not a rom. But either way, i would really like this image for a bootscreen
if you could zoom it to fill the screen that would be AWESOME, if you cant i understand

I flashed this and I am getting flashes of white in between the actual bootscreen - almost like a strobe light. It's actually a cool effect, but probably not intended?

i cant even get that far. See my previous post

3.0.0.5 isn't compatible with amend, only edify. Flash 2.5.0.1 and install the boot, it will still be fine on GB.
sent from my hero, which no longer sucks ass

i thought 2.5.0.1. wont even launch on gingerbread? Cause i couldnt get into 2.5.0.1. like normal after i flashed gingerbread. I had to adb push 3

hmmm well try this EDIFY Scripted install version . if this doesnt install just open the zip and goto syste/media/bootanimation.zip and copy to the same folder on your phone... replacing the old bootanimation.

Yeah I think its going to fast, the animations is only 6 pngs. Maybe slow it down some more.

If you are having trouble flashing it, just extract the bootanimaton.zip and throw it into system/media with root explorer and reboot.
Edit: I need to lrn2read.

Gimp... theres also I script I use called save all layers to pngs, I also use the gimps animation package.
These three tools allow me to turn a movie into a series of layers in a png image, then I can export those layers to individual pngs.
I can also take an animated gif and open it as layers and then saves those as layers.
Of course gimp and GAP do sooo much more but it should be essential for anyone who wants to make a good bootanimation, without spending hundreds of dollars on ps and other progs. This is also how I made my animations in the past GAP allows you to take a video and convert the mpeg4 to a layered png, and then from there using gimp and GAP to alter frame and frame progression.
How did I learn this, trial and error and lots of gimp/GAP tutorials. I suggest the same if you would like to make your own.
But to slow it down just edit the desc.txt in the bootnaimation.zip and set it to say 5 or something (5 fps).

Boot animation preview [7/7/10] - Lucky Day

This is a tool for windows that will allow you to preview a boot animation (bootanimation.zip) file before applying it to your device. If you have the SDK in your environment path, it will also allow you to apply the boot animation to the device. I have tested about 50 boot animations and only had 2 that wouldn't load, and they didn't load because there was an invalid line in the desc.txt file.
Requirements
.NET Framework 4.0
Windows XP or later
Android SDK added to Environment path (to set the boot animation on the device, if you don't have it in the path, you just cant set it from the app)
Boot Animation files to open (you can pull one off your device @ /system/media/bootanimation.zip)

This is the dialog to create an animation, it takes a directory, analyzes the "parts" and creates the desc.txt from the values entered in the property grid. Then asks where to save the animation and names it based off the name of the folder.
The other feature that BAP offers, is the ability to export a boot animation as an animated GIF. It will try the best it can to create a gif that will do the animation justice. The export can take some time, and can be somewhat large, depending on the number of images, parts, and "loops" of the boot animation.
Below is an export of the CyanogenMOD 5.07-test2 boot animation
Here is the download for this boot animation, I do not remember where I found to, so if you created it please let me know and I link to your thread instead.
if your interested in more boot animations, here is my skydrive with all the boot animations I have. there may be some dupes in there.
Thanks very much for this. It will come in very handy.
I've made some updates to the application. It now gives you more control when exporting to a gif, you can set the quality and set how many times the "infinite loop" section should loop (if there is one that loops forever). These settings can decrease the size of the file, plus the amount of time it takes to create the animated gif. The better the quality, the longer it will take to process, also the more loops, the longer it will take and the gif will be larger.
See OP for new download.
Is it possible for you to upload the boot animation of the green android on the second GIF? I loved it and i would like to put it on my phone without flashing CM 5.0.7 (i have 5.0.6 already)
thank you.
I may just be misunderstanding how to operate this, but I unzipped the .exe to my sdk tools folder (where adb is located) and ran it from there, opened a random bootanimation, and then hit the phone icon. windows requested permission to run adb, so it appears to have found it, but when I rebooted the phone, my animation was unchanged.
Do I need to have the phone booted into recovery for this to work or have the .exe extracted elsewhere?
AWESOME! It's been an eternity of searching until I finally found this tool allowing me to export zip contents to gif! Thank you!!!
Is this for android 2 and newer versions, or it works and for 1.5, 1,6?

Bump,
Did the OP left this project or something?
sorry, im gon bump this also, but i sent an animation to my phone and it works. but when i flash new roms with diff animations... the animation doesnt change.
i want to know where it gets stored when its sent via the program. i searched in /system/media but the animation in there is the one from the recently flashed rom, and not the one i sent using the program.
so im kinda stuck and wondering now...

Those aren't very goof apps to be using as that is the problem. I suggest using something like Root Explorer or SUFBS instead, they are root file explorers.

If you cant find it using any file explorers for your phone, from a command line you can do
adb shell rm /data/local/bootanimation.zip
Thanks very much!
Now I can prview it in full quality and see if it's working!
thank you. i did get root explorer and was able to remove it through that.
Boot Animation Preview 1.5 uploaded and added to OP. This has some minor fixes in the animation algorithm and other little tweaks.
The main feature added is the ability to take a directory and turn it in to an animation. It will read the directory, and the "parts" in there. Then it generates the desc.txt from the values entered in the dialog, like FPS, size etc. Then it zips up the directory to a file named after the base directory.

Any chance of a Linux version of this program (Or at least one that runs in Mono)?
Ok, so it seems that since the application is targeted towards .net 4.0 which so far only SVN Mono supports. Is there something specific in .net 4.0 you are using in your app, or could it be compiled for .net 3.5 so it would (potentially) work in Mono as well?
Thx a lot - great Programm!
Opening the same animation which is already loaded will cause the program to crash
I need this BootAnimation you created a gif from - the one with the big android in the middle and the lightshow in the background =) where can i find it ?

If any one has an animated gif they want turned into a boot screen, I'll make it for you. All I need you to do is give me the gif and I'll make it, and put it in a zip for you. If you want sound I'll experiment and see if I can make one.
Here are the three from the second post
*These ARE flashable through cwm recovery!*
for anyone that's curious I am making an Ubuntu boot screen.
Here is a "black stock boot animation" I made upon request.
I used the generic one, worked great! Thanks a lot!
I am glad you liked it .
Man, could you make this into a boot for me?
This is flashable through cwm if you are using an inspire 4g. If you are using it on another phone let me know because I will have to adjust the resolution.
Great man, I appreciate it, but when I tried to flash it, it failed, and when I manually did it, it just shows up a black screen.
I flashed it earlier. I had to wipe restore and then flash it again and it worked. If you made a nandroid back up restore and try to flash again. I promise it works and looks good .
I am using the inspire boot animation keep up the good work.

But I just flashed Core Droid 3.2 stock and it installed perfectly, and it looks killer.
I figured it was because of gingerbread ill work on making them work for gingerbread.

I like the Generic Inspire, except for the text change from "Inspire 4G" to "Loading..." IMHO, would be better if it just kept repeating "Inspire 4G."
Either way, thanks, it looks great.
wow, Root Explorer FTW, been sitting here trying to copy over my bios boot animation, tried everything from adb push to astro file manager.
Worked first time once I used root explorer and copied to \data\local
Glad I could help !
Hi,
Could you make a boot animation using this image?
This is from a free wallpaper site.
I don't want it to be a flashable file. I need to manually replace a bootanimation file in a specific directory myself for the ROM I'm using.
I think it looks cool, and I'd love it if you can do this.
GT
To be honest with something like that since its not an animated .gif. I would have to use illustrator to vector it then animate it. It would take a while to do. Even if I made it with my 3d program. If you could find an animated gif I would be more then willing to convert it for you and give you the zip.

[THEME] Blue glow lockscreen

This is a simple blue glow lockscreen that I made. I think it looks cool with a honeycomb theme. I know there are other similar lockscreens, but I could never get them to apply correctly with CM7. The only way I could get it to apply is by flashing it; Metamorph just doesn't like it for whatever reason. If anyone wants to use it, I'll upload it, otherwise it is just a waste of time .

Also, this is a "down swipe" lockscreen. There is a hidden sound off/on option and a hidden custom app button, but those can easily be ignored. You have to use the rotary revamped and have a custom application, with swipe down to unlock checked for it to be displayed in the middle of the screen. Let me know what you guys think
Edit: Here is the lockscreen. Edify works with Clockwork 3.+ and the other is Amend scripted (most other recoveries).
Amend
Edify
To make it look like it is in the image, and to have drag down to unlock to function, you need to:
-Open up your CM settings, and click on "Lockscreen", then click on "Style Options" then "Lockscreen Style" --choose Rotary Revamped. Make sure and check "Custom App Starter" "Drag down to unlock" "Hide Rotary Arrows ; leave "message icon for custom" un-checked. You should be good to go. Flashing it should be self explanatory
Yup looks good. Ill take a zip. But I'm wondering what recovery are you using??? Also is there any way you could possibly do a black one??? Would be great to have the blue with the darkhorse theme I run & a black one with the black&white theme I run. If its possible thanks.

I am using Clockwork, so I have it apply with edify, but I actually write it with amend scripting (I use a converter so I actually have both edify and amend scripts). I'll upload them in a second, I'll just need to make an amend real quick.
Edit: As for the Black version, I'll try to work on it sometimes later this week. I'll be pretty busy though with college finals coming up soon, so I'm sure you can understand

You just need to re-read the OP dude.... All of the directions are there. Make sure you have a recent version of Clockwork (in otherwords 2.7.05 won't work) and follow the OP all the way down. I'm not using this lockscreen now, but it worked when I did use it.
Agreed with re read the op. But it would work with cwm2, not only will it flash edify, but theres an amend zip as well. As good practice when flashing themed items, I would suggest wipe cache then flash, and again, follow the op.

My interpretation of op was:
Edify = CWM 3+
Amend = other recovery (non CWM)
I'd rather error on the side of caution then be on here crying about my brick. So would you clarify a little more? I upgraded to 3+ before using this.

Ok, so Ive installed CWM 3.0.0.5 upgrading from 2.5.0.7, booted into recovery and wiped the cache then installed the edify zip and rebooted, and yet still nothing my Hero just gets stuck in a boot loop. This is the tenth time Ive failed at trying to install this lockscreen, so could someone please post more specific instructions as to how they got this to work on their phone?
Ok Im starting to think that either my phone hates this lockscreen or something else is causing it to mess up, can anyone else confirm that the edify version works on their phone? also Im running CM7.0.0.2 and CWM 3.0.0.5 could either be causing the issue? halp me Im so lol

This is not a flashable zip.
Do like. Do like alot!
WAY better than the creepy CID logo where just the very bottom was animated. Dark backgrounds just work better as boot animations. It looks cleaner and more professional somehow.
The only thing I might add is a big "X" (For 10) thats 'slashed' into the background. By slashes I mean something like this Wolverine image...
...only 2 slashes forming an X.
so the circle logo does it's thing, then slash 1, slash 2, and a white glow from behind the background.
tested on cm9...works well
looks more beautiful now:good:

Assuming you have the Sensation, this may not work.. you are 540 x 960px and this is only 800px vertical(portrait)
Not flash'able. Ive done a whole lot of research on this bootani and soo many different people think they can flash it or don't know their screen res or don't see its a file that you choose whether to have it portrait or landscape...(Hence, 15MB+ file..durr) So, what you do is find out your vertical screen res, open the 'vertical' folder, choose your resolution# and there will be a 'bootanimation.zip' there. Move that file to your sdcard, from your sdcard to /system/media, you should have your original bootani there so make sure to save it somewhere handy, then change your permissions to rw-r-r-- once you've moved your new bootanimation there. However, this worked on my Epic 4G, so Idk how this works with other phones but I thought I'd give ya a little guidance!

Originally, this was the vertical 540x540 bootanimation from the original CM download. I edited it to be 540x960, so that it will fit Sensation/Amaze 4g and any other phone with that resolution. If you want to apply to it on a different phone, TRY and edit the desc.txt file to your phones resolution then rezip the file with "store" compression. No promises that it will fit perfect though.
Good lord, people. Its a boot animation, not a space shuttle launch.
Just try it and see if it works on your phone's screen size. If it doesnt it will either look wacky or you will get the stock ANDROID boot animation. But tbe phone will still boot, at which point you can change the non working animation to something else
You cant screw up your phone by trying it.
If you have a sensation, this .zip animation works. Period.
It doesnt matter what rom you are running or what version of the rom you are running.
If you want to use it on ARHD, AOKP,CM, or even stockroms, it will work. Bootanimations are not rom specific. (Though sense roms store the animation files in a different spot than aosp roms)

Anyway you can add the 2nd patch that has CyanogenMod instead of Cyanogen(mod)? Thanks

Here.
They have this on the Galaxy SIII forum as a flashable zip. I pulled the bootanimation.zip file out of the flashable zip and just posted it here as a regular bootanimation file that can be copied using ES File Explorer or the like.
It's a 540x540 file but I assure you it works. I've already installed it and looked at it. Android will center the animation on the screen. it doesn't need to be 540x960 natively.
Put it in /system/media and change the permissions to give it read write and execute permissions. Enjoy.
If you really want the flashable zip the Galaxy SIII forum is here. But it's like 10 times faster to just move the file using File Explorer.

[BOOTANIMATION] Energy Star BIOS boot animation for LG G3 [1440x2560]

Hello all,
I'd been looking for an Energy Star boot animation for my G3 for several days (I even pulled an all-nighter looking), and ended up determining that I would have to make it myself.
First of all, credit where credit is due:
I based my animation off of the one that galaxys3lover posted in this thread. I chose this one specifically because it was exactly half of the resolution of the G3, so scaling wouldn't be a problem. The Energy Star logo and the blue dude next to the text in the first part of the animation were taken directly from the S III animation and upscaled for use.
The font that I decided to use (which I found out after I began making the frames was the font used in the aforementioned thread) is named FixedSys and is available to download for free over at moviecorner.de.
The animation is at a resolution of 1440x2400, which means there will be a black bar 80 pixels tall on the top and bottom of the screen. The background being black makes these seams invisible.
Without further ado, the animation:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As seen above, I edited the animation to display the relevant information for the G3. Also, for the ROM bit, I put CM12 there, as I am running that on my phone. If you'd like for me to adjust this line, please reply to the thread and I'll try to get back to you in a timely fashion.
Installation:
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY BRICKING, EXPLODING, OR ANY OTHER MALFUNCTIONS YOU MAY ENCOUNTER AS A RESULT OF INSTALLING THIS BOOTANIMATION
BE SURE TO HAVE A CURRENT BACKUP READY, JUST IN CASE
Manual Installation:
1. Download the non-flashable zip.
2. Move the zip to your internal sdcard.
3. Back up your current bootanimation (located in the /system/media folder) using Root Explorer or the like.
4. Copy the g3biosbootanimation.zip to the /system/media folder, mount R/W to write to the folder.
5. Rename g3biosbootanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip, and overwrite the previous bootanimation.zip
6. Set permissions to rw-r--r--, then reboot.Flash Installation:
NOTE: This is the first flashable zip that I've made, and I have successfully flashed it onto my device. That being said, I cannot guarantee that it will flash properly for you. If you try this method and it does not work, please bring it to my attention, and I will try to correct the problem. AGAIN, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT GOES WRONG WITH YOUR DEVICE!
1. Download the flashable zip.
2. Move the zip to your internal sdcard.
3. Reboot into recovery mode.
4. Flash the zip, reboot your phone, and enjoy.One last note: I flashed this zip using TWRP; as such I have not tested its compatibility with CWM, so I do not know if it will work with that particular recovery software.
I hope you enjoy the animation.

Great boot screen. I've been coming back to it for a while now. I can be a bit particular with things so I was wondering if you could customize it some to match my phone since I have the 3gb ram/32gb storage version. I'd really appreciate it. If it's too difficult to change, I can live with your version. Thanks for making it!
On the "memory test" can you make it go up to 3145728K
"Flash ROM" to "JasmineROM 4.0"
On the next screen, "memory installed" to 3072M
On the same screen, "Pri. Master Disk" to 32768MB, ROM
And the boot sequence to "Android OS 4.4.2" since I still run kitkat.
I think that's it. Thanks again.
Amazing! Something every tech enthusiast should enjoy, brings back memories. Would it be possible to get the required info to edit the certain info ourselves? I want to edit in my os version and rom. Thanks. Otherwise it would be amazing of you could change the rom name to "Resurrection Remix" and the os version to "5.1.1". Cheers!
Beautiful, I love these boot screens. Had one on my old LG G2, Note 2 and now this. My life is complete. ;D
May not be running CM12 and have the 3gb version, but that's a minor thing!
CM13 / Android MM
Is it possible to create a new one for CM13 / Android 6 (2GB)
For me it doesn't work properly. I can see only the second part of the gif. I miss all the energy star thing.. Like my phone boot too fast..
Cloudy G3 2.5
Hi,
Can you make one for Cloudy G3 2.5?
Thanks
Flashed.
Nice Animation.
Can you please make a generic version that doesn't specify the ROM name or Android version? Also please fix the RAM and ROM sizes like danbest82 mentioned.
I've been away for a while
Good evening, folks
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I've been working pretty hard on my college work and have been too distracted by my graduation requirements to devote any attention to this thread. If you'd still like any alterations to the animation, I'll try to get those up in the next couple of weeks.
To be honest, I completely forgot about this animation until I saw that someone (not me) had posted this thread on Reddit. Thank you, kind redditor!

Hey, sorry I've been absent from the thread for so long
I've just updated the animation according to your suggestions. Unfortunately, I cannot figure out how to upload it to this reply and I haven't created enough posts on the forums to post an external link. If you'll message me, I'll send you the link to the manual installation file via Google Drive. Currently, I haven't tested the file to see if it works, and I'm still working on the flashable file. I'll probably have the flashable version done within the next few hours, if you want to wait for that.

Bobschlomboggi

I would if I could, man. I spent the better part of two hours last night trying to find some way to upload the files directly to the forum. I'm fairly certain that I'll have to make a new thread if I want to upload the files.

If you want to attach a file to a post, you have to go to the Advanced Reply screen. Just click the "Go Advanced" button at the bottom of the quick reply box to get there. Then you can attach a file.

I honestly think that the forums are not showing me the option to upload other files. I even took a couple of screenshots of the advanced reply page to prove it:

Sure enough, you're right. If you PM me a link to the file, I can attach it for you. Or you can edit your original post and attach it there
Thanks, work nice
