This is a simple blue glow lockscreen that I made. I think it looks cool with a honeycomb theme. I know there are other similar lockscreens, but I could never get them to apply correctly with CM7. The only way I could get it to apply is by flashing it; Metamorph just doesn't like it for whatever reason. If anyone wants to use it, I'll upload it, otherwise it is just a waste of time .

Also, this is a "down swipe" lockscreen. There is a hidden sound off/on option and a hidden custom app button, but those can easily be ignored. You have to use the rotary revamped and have a custom application, with swipe down to unlock checked for it to be displayed in the middle of the screen. Let me know what you guys think
Edit: Here is the lockscreen. Edify works with Clockwork 3.+ and the other is Amend scripted (most other recoveries).
Amend
Edify
To make it look like it is in the image, and to have drag down to unlock to function, you need to:
-Open up your CM settings, and click on "Lockscreen", then click on "Style Options" then "Lockscreen Style" --choose Rotary Revamped. Make sure and check "Custom App Starter" "Drag down to unlock" "Hide Rotary Arrows ; leave "message icon for custom" un-checked. You should be good to go. Flashing it should be self explanatory
Yup looks good. Ill take a zip. But I'm wondering what recovery are you using??? Also is there any way you could possibly do a black one??? Would be great to have the blue with the darkhorse theme I run & a black one with the black&white theme I run. If its possible thanks.

I am using Clockwork, so I have it apply with edify, but I actually write it with amend scripting (I use a converter so I actually have both edify and amend scripts). I'll upload them in a second, I'll just need to make an amend real quick.
Edit: As for the Black version, I'll try to work on it sometimes later this week. I'll be pretty busy though with college finals coming up soon, so I'm sure you can understand

Sorry if I sound like a newb, but Im having trouble getting this lockscreen to work on my rooted CDMA hero running CM7. Ive tried placing the zip file on my SD card, booting into recovery and installing from there, I have allow non-market installs checked, but still nothing. Do I need to use adb to make this work? thanks!

You just need to re-read the OP dude.... All of the directions are there. Make sure you have a recent version of Clockwork (in otherwords 2.7.05 won't work) and follow the OP all the way down. I'm not using this lockscreen now, but it worked when I did use it.
Agreed with re read the op. But it would work with cwm2, not only will it flash edify, but theres an amend zip as well. As good practice when flashing themed items, I would suggest wipe cache then flash, and again, follow the op.

My interpretation of op was:
Edify = CWM 3+
Amend = other recovery (non CWM)
I'd rather error on the side of caution then be on here crying about my brick. So would you clarify a little more? I upgraded to 3+ before using this.

CWM3 will only read Edify.
CWM2 will read both Edify and Amend.
....and now I know. Thanks for the schooling gentlemen.

Solid theme!
Good job.
Can you make a green glow?
If your not busy.
Ok, so Ive installed CWM 3.0.0.5 upgrading from 2.5.0.7, booted into recovery and wiped the cache then installed the edify zip and rebooted, and yet still nothing my Hero just gets stuck in a boot loop. This is the tenth time Ive failed at trying to install this lockscreen, so could someone please post more specific instructions as to how they got this to work on their phone?
Ok Im starting to think that either my phone hates this lockscreen or something else is causing it to mess up, can anyone else confirm that the edify version works on their phone? also Im running CM7.0.0.2 and CWM 3.0.0.5 could either be causing the issue? halp me Im so lol
Looks good!

Well I noticed that nobody has really made any animated bootscreens.
I thought I would add to the community, so here are two that i've made..
You really need to try em because the pics don't show the animated android guy in the pics, and the videos look like crap
If you have an unthemed version of rc33/30 read the green text. Otherwise read the orange text under it.
Ok so the first one with the crazy colors is basically what you see in the pic except the colorful android disappears and reappears =).

Color Animated Bootscreen
The second one i like to call Bloody Black!
The picture def doesnt do it any justice because the android is what makes it cool. Basically theres a black android that you can only see when theres a white glow behind it, and also it has red eyes so you only see the red eyes until the android is visible. It's a cool effect, just try it out lol.

These 2 are the same as above except for the Hybrid 1.5 theme rc33/rc30 versions. (simply install the hybrid theme and then do this one afterwards..)

Color Hybrid Bootscreen
Installing is the same as usual. Rename the file update.zip, put it on your sdcard. Hold home + power and then hit alt+s once it loads up!
If you decide that you want to go back to the original version, just install the update below and you'll go back to the original one. (only if you have an unthemed version of rc33, otherwise just reinstall whichever theme you like, and thatll get rid of this bootscreen in the process)

Hi guys!
I have a big problem. I just renamed a file from the orange text to update.zip and flashed my Phone!
I have JF 1.5, HardSPL, Root.
I have fastboot and it works on my PC.
When the bootscreen should come its just black and nothing comes. The first bootscreen works, but the second is black. He does not load anything and the phone doesnt start... What can i do?
pls fast Help thx
That update.zip isn't meant for ADP 1.5, it's for RC33. If you have a Nandroid backup, you could restore that. If not, just reflash the JF 1.5 update.
I decided to try it myself to see if it was as I though, and yes, it doesn't work with
1.5. I'm just checking which Nandroid images need reflashing...
Edit: Right, flashing boot back doesn't fix it, and I don't think you need to. Just flash the system image (assuming you have a nandroid backup) and it'll all go back to normal
The nandroid backup is on the sd card. How can i restore it? Is there a chance to connect to sdcard with my PC when the phone doesnt start?
To restore it, you need to have the Nandroid backup on your computer, so you'll need an SD card reader to do that (no USB file transfer without booting the phone).
Once you've got it on, you go into fastboot, and type "fastboot flash system system.img" (assuming fastboot is in the same folder as your Nandroid backup)
Mh oke thanks. I have no cardreader, is there another chance to help
my phone?
Someone have an idea?
I can't think of another way, sorry. Unless there is some other way that I don't know about, I think you're gonna have to buy yourself a card reader.
As long as the phone boots once you can then mount your sdcard right? So just flash any fastboot images that work, retrieve the images, and then flash them again. I've done this many times. So really you don't need a sdcard reader but it makes it a lot easier. Here are the official fastboot images you could use temporarily:
http://www.htc.com/www/support/android/adp.html
Thank you Peter and Doom. I bought a card reader and flashed the system.img.
I was pretty dumb
I did the same thing. Didn't realize it wasn't compatible. I am not too clear on what I am supposed to do. And the nandroid backup I did was before the 1.5 upgrade. Any help would be appreciated.
[Edit]
Ok, so reapplying JF 1.5 update cleared up the problem with no wipe necessary. AWESOME.
Phew... I was sweatin there. Anyone know how to change the bootscreen in 1.5?

Works just fine, but I have a question.
This doesn't change the boot up animation of the Sprint logo, how do you actually do that?
Good Job man, this is a really useful application. I can change boots sleeping, in a coma, but this is sick for those who cannot do it themselves yet. Keep up the good work. devs like you are what makes xda awesome
Well thanks guys, I just seen that it was on the main page. Yes i will include a way for you to be able to have a silent start up.
Basically just a check box that says "Silent Animation" or something.
Im up for any suggestions on this as well. I will be updating this again in the next few days until then. Here is a screen shot of my current project
This is for cricKet specifically, this particular one is not for release.
This is a screen shot of how the one that will be released will look like.
Basically where it says "Install CKT ROM" will just say "Install ROM" and you wont have "Provision Phone"
This program is designed to help you "Root", "Nand Unlock", Install "Recovery" and Push a "ROM" to your SDCard while further more giving you instructions along the way.
Of course its not for you "Advanced" users who can do this. It's for anyone looking to modify there phone but dont quit understand all the adb cmds.
BTW This is just a idea that I might release it. I haven't thought entirely if i should....
O and about the thread title, i cant change it haha so if a mod wants to change it to something more suitable thats fine.

Gimp... theres also I script I use called save all layers to pngs, I also use the gimps animation package.
These three tools allow me to turn a movie into a series of layers in a png image, then I can export those layers to individual pngs.
I can also take an animated gif and open it as layers and then saves those as layers.
Of course gimp and GAP do sooo much more but it should be essential for anyone who wants to make a good bootanimation, without spending hundreds of dollars on ps and other progs. This is also how I made my animations in the past GAP allows you to take a video and convert the mpeg4 to a layered png, and then from there using gimp and GAP to alter frame and frame progression.
How did I learn this, trial and error and lots of gimp/GAP tutorials. I suggest the same if you would like to make your own.
But to slow it down just edit the desc.txt in the bootnaimation.zip and set it to say 5 or something (5 fps).

for anyone that's curious I am making an Ubuntu boot screen.
Here is a "black stock boot animation" I made upon request.
I used the generic one, worked great! Thanks a lot!
I am glad you liked it .
Man, could you make this into a boot for me?
This is flashable through cwm if you are using an inspire 4g. If you are using it on another phone let me know because I will have to adjust the resolution.
Great man, I appreciate it, but when I tried to flash it, it failed, and when I manually did it, it just shows up a black screen.
I flashed it earlier. I had to wipe restore and then flash it again and it worked. If you made a nandroid back up restore and try to flash again. I promise it works and looks good .
I am using the inspire boot animation keep up the good work.

Worked first time once I used root explorer and copied to \data\local
Glad I could help !
Hi,
Could you make a boot animation using this image?
This is from a free wallpaper site.
I don't want it to be a flashable file. I need to manually replace a bootanimation file in a specific directory myself for the ROM I'm using.
I think it looks cool, and I'd love it if you can do this.
GT
To be honest with something like that since its not an animated .gif. I would have to use illustrator to vector it then animate it. It would take a while to do. Even if I made it with my 3d program. If you could find an animated gif I would be more then willing to convert it for you and give you the zip.

6. Reboot.
Download
MIUI: 2.4.20 RC2
Kernel: Ezgb Kernel
Misc. Notes
This is MDPI based, and I followed procedure properly so everything should work here, but if anything is broken please let me know.
Also take note that DL'd themes do not work unless modified for MDPI use
Important
On first boot things may look garbled, after a reboot everything should be fine.
There may appear to be errors on install but everything should straighten out after a reboot.
What is the best gapps to use with this ROM and where can I get them from?
looks like gapps are packed with the rom so dont flash any separately
Everything is working as intended?
As of right now I am getting stuck on the green mytouch screen. The checksum of my downloads are correct. I know the problem isn't the kernal as I have used it before.
This has enough DLs for me to ask If your bootloop problem is isolated or not, is anyone else experiencing this?
wont install on a g1, tried two downloads (md5 for both 5F48EAFF996F2FA6BC7CC1F9195F7AA4) if you want to confirm
i dont have time to trouble shoot right now but at first the error appears to be missing a ringtone (romancingTheTone.ogg) and install is aborted, havent tried to adding it to test but someone else did (has only a couple of posts so he pm'd me as he cant post in this thread) and said the same. he tried replacing the file and then got another error that wouldnt let him flash, certinstaller error i think, but dont know why that would cause it not to instal. ill test tomorrow when i have more free time just giving you a heads up
Would that work on 32A devices with old radio?
This is my first time doing an MDPI MIUI port, It's strange for it to not work but I will compile a new build soonish
Ok, Uploaded RC2 and stripped the rom of potential breaks, so here goes folks!
anyone actually tested this?

The first was non-functioning due to services and Framework, the second should probably work fine but If not I'll have to go the diffing route.
Either way I can for sure get this to be functional but I need feedback :s
Second Copy is smashed as well, It looks like I'm going to have to mess with code I'll have a new and hopefully proper build this time!
I hope you get this fixed! I love MIUI!
Just one thought; check system parition size, it may need to be bigger as MIUI is fairly big rom

Okay my G1 stay alone without work and I preform test of yours rom. But my feedback is negative.
1. You have missing ogg melody and instillation was aborted because zip dont match with signature. I was able to install when disable signature verification. Thansk frankey
2. The rom dont boot. I try with RA/CWM recovery result was same. Are you sure this rom dont have need from custom MTD ??? My Logcat
From that logcat, audioflinger is dying. It isn't opening the files /system/etc/AudioPara_TMA.csv and /system/etc/AudioPara4.csv
Check to see if those are there. If not, get them then try.
Also, second post of my roms thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31653323. If you use stuff I compiled, it states that you should at least send me a pm about using my work.
And the name is tvall. that's a lowercase "t".
Edit: still haven't downloaded yet. Just looking at file size, looks almost certainly like its too large for stock partition sizes. Try slimming it up, or moving some apps to /data, or just using custom mtd
i flashed it thru RA but it wont flash
just downloaded and looked. this rom is ~140mb. the /system partition on the g1 is 90mb. see the problem? trying to slim it up. got it down to 120mb by removing livewalpapers and apps that we are not allowed to distribute (including gapps isnt allowed). still have to free up ~30mb for this to be even usable. youll probably just have to use custom mtd.
edit:
have not tested this. /system size is 88mb, so no gapps yet. http://www.mediafire.com/?i3bsba3sgbf4e49. it may or may not boot. i have not tested. i just fixed the first obvious major issue with this rom, thats all.

Including gapps isn't allowed? Since when I use miui with them merged into the ROM
Take custom mtd up to 120 and then delete anything else we really don't need? Slim down ring tones to maybe 3 or 4
Good luck dude!
