I recently attempted to install WP7 on my tmobile uk HD2,i followed a list of simple instructions but have ran into some problems! Below are the instructions i followed :
If you have had enough details and want to install Windows Phone 7 to your HD2 right away, you can refer to the videos for the download instructions. Though for those of you who have trouble following those instructions, here is what you will need to do:
1.Download the Windows Phone 7 ROM from the link given below and extract its contents to your computer.
2.Make sure that you have HARDSPL 2.08 installed as it is required before you can install MAGLDR in the next step. Also note that your radio needs to be 2.**.50.**. A recommended 2.15.50.14 radio can be found here.
3.Connect your HD2 to your computer via USB and run ‘ROMUpdateUtility.exe’ from the MAGLDR 1.2 folder at the location where you extracted the ROM in Step 1.
4.Follow the on-screen instructions to install MAGLDR on your HD2 and reboot your phone. Your phone will boot into MAGLDR now.
5.Navigate to the 5th option which says ‘USB Flasher’ using the volume-down key and press the green ‘call’ key to enter it.
6.Now run ‘DWI.exe’ from the folder where you extracted the ROM.
7.Read the information carefully and follow the on-screen instructions to flash the Windows Phone 7 ROM to your HD2.
8.Once the installation is complete, your phone will reboot into MAGDLR again. Use the volume-down button to the second option that says ‘Boot AD NAND’ and press the green ‘call’ button.
9.Your phone will now boot into the newly installed Windows Phone 7. The first boot may take a while. Follow the on-screen instructions to setup your Windows Phone 7 installation for the first time.
10.Follow this guide to get Live Services including Marketplace and XBox Live fully working on your device.
Congratulations – you now have Windows Phone 7 running natively on your HTC HD2. Though having to select the second option from MAGLDR every time you restart your phone to boot into Windows Phone 7 can be a hassle. Fortunately, you can set MAGLDR to automatically boot your phone into Android each time you restart it.
I got as far as step 8. My phone did not reboot as it says it will and now i cant do anything with the device apart from make calls from the WP7 os on my phone.
Can any1 help me progress from this problem or to enable me to further enable WP7.
If all else fails can someone post a dumb f**ks guide on how to get back to win 6.5?
ANY HELP WOULD BE MOST APPRECIATED THANKS GUYS

I have a developers phone that i am trying to update to 1.5 and am stuck on getting the ver updated.
As i am a new user to linux and have a ubuntu machine plus trying to learn these new programs am stuck.
i have tried a search on the net and tring to follow htc website fail on unloading the software as i am not sure which of the files to unload.
i tried this link
http://groups.google.com/group/Android-DevPhone-Updating/browse_thread/thread/d2970dd43f51d96c
when adding the updaew.zip file found the phone froze and on completion had to take out batterys to reboot.
still the files remain unchanged

i guess the way forward for me is a step by step upgrde that is relevant to my linux machine or find one for a windows machine as i have access to windows pc also.
thanks Vinny
1) download the recovery image from htc's website.
2) plug your phone into your USB.
3) copy the recovery image to the root of the USB drive as "update.zip".
4) unmount usb disk and wait for it to sync.
5) unplug usb cable
6) plug in charger (optional, make sure you have a full battery)
7) reboot holding the "home" key.
8) press "alt + L"
9) press "alt + S"
10) wait for it to do its thing.
11) press "home + back".
Done.
I was trying to flash my phone to a diffent ROM< but now everytime that i have tryed, it gives me an error - get newer updater. I have used CUstom RUU V. 1 that comes with most roms, and i have used the 5.22. The Hard SPL version is 1.00liPof. Help!!!
I think you may have the wrong section, what phone are u using, i dnt thats a kaiser hardspl
Hard SPL 1.00lipro is a hardspl for the kaiser, i have it on my kaiser. Although the 5.22 he refers to i have no idea what they mean?
Opening poster try to explain in more detail what it is that you are trying to do, i.e. what rom it is that you are trying to install, what windows you are using on your pc etc.
If you cant use that ruu try this one i attached
Ah i see, ive never really had that problem even though ive flashed on xp, vista and 7. Very weird. Try changing Hardspl.Good Luck and use the ruu that has been given here
had that problem
When i switched to windows 7 i had a similar issue. There should be an update now that you plugged your phone in to the c. Try to see if there is a windows update that shows up now.
Hi,
Or Even try to mount a virtual machine in Xp with Vmware or similar...
Good luck

Update your hardspl to 3.29 or 3.34. The spl you are using is for WM 6.0

sd
flash via micro sd. easy, faster, gets rid of a middle man. and update your spl.
Flashing Via MicroSD Card
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do)
2. Download your prefered Rom from the Kaiser Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your computer
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to KAISIMG.nbh
4. Copy the KAISIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
5. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
6. Hold in the Power and Camera buttons, then press the reset button with the stylus for about 3 seconds until the BootLoader screen appears
7. You will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
8. A message will then pop up asking you to press the Power button to start the update
9. Press power button to start flashing
10. Once phone finishes flashing and says Update Complete, reset with the stylus
11. When it gets to the screen where it configures the stylus, HARD RESET

First of all tell me about your hd2, what rom is it currently running (stock 2.08, 3.14?) , what radio do you have? Whats your sd card?
All these questions are relevant to make droid work.
I'm not sure if this will work or not. But I had a similar problem when I first rooted my HD2. Under the Android folder, there is a text file: startup.txt
Open it up. The last line I've found typically reads "boot". Now, I don't know if this affects everyone. But after reading for 18+ hours when I first rooted my phone, I remembered reading somewhere that that particular line should read "bootlinux". And I've found that no matter what build I use, if I don't change it to bootlinux, it wouldn't get past the HTC. So try adding "linux" after the "boot". Then try starting it up again with CLRCAD.exe then haret.exe.
Hope that works for you.

I just posted this in another thread to clear some things up for some guys ...... hope this clears up the process for you a bit
............................excerpted from previous post........................................
********BTW i have attached a little template that i use when flashing various roms and storing them on my PC. has task29, HSPL & MAGLDR already in it. all u need to do is go to the xda hd2 master radio thread to grab your appropriate radio and put that into the empty radio file. then find the rom you want to test out and usually the developer will have both rom (obviously) and the appropriate CWM that u should use with it and just put those in their respective empty folders i have in the attached file. that way all the steps below will line up to the files i have attached
OH YEAH, FORGOT... THESE STEPS ARE TO BE DONE AFTER THE INITIAL PREREQUISITES i.e. windows mobile device center, activesync, proper spl version...blah blah blah
--------the following steps 1 - 4 are to be preformed while at the tri-color boot screen (easiest way to reach is to turn off your phone while its connected to your PC then immediately hold volume down button till you see it n wait for it to say usb in the white section).
(by the way your device will ALWAYS automatically restart itself after a couple seconds if it is shut down while plugged in via USB to either a wall/car charger or hooked up to a PC this is normal and a small hiccup either due to the use of magldr or the hspl but dont worry)...cant quite remember
1. run task 29
-double click the only icon in file if your using the one provided by doloop
-wait for it to run and do its thing. when its finished it will automatically turn off your device so be sure to hold down the volume key as soon as it does.
2. install radio
-run the "customRUU" file with the HD2 icon in the radio of your choosing
-it will operate in a similar fashion as the task 29, automatically turning off device upon completion.... down on the vol key
3. install hspl3/hspl4
-run the "HSPL3_PKG/HSPL4_PKG" file. should be the only one in there
-make sure you select 2.08.HSPL in the setup and it will execute itself just like the installers in the previous two steps n turn off your phone... down vol key
4. install magldr113
-make sure your selecting "rom update utility" in the magldr113 file. dont run the "DAF" it wont work properly if you do and youll get errors
-BUT THIS TIME AS IT TURNS ITSELF OFF HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON ON YOUR DEVICE AS IT BOOTS UP UNTIL U GET TO MAGLDR AND CONTINUE TO HOLD IT DOWN UNTIL YOU SEE ABOUT 12 DIFFERENT OPTIONS...
5. install CWM recovery
-go to option 5 "USB Flasher" and hit the green call key. wait a few moments till it shows USB....USB make sure the second usb pops up and your PC recognizes the connection. then when it does sync you get to......
-while still in the usb flasher mode above, simply run you desired CWM recovery which should the one your developer recommends for the builds as the requirements tend to vary from rom to rom.
-this is achieved by selecting the "DAF" file from the clockworkmod recovery your using
-and again this installer will shut off your device upon completion and HOLD DOWN THE POWER KEY LIKE ABOVE TILL YOUR BACK AT THE MAGLDR MAIN MENU (with options 1-12).
6. install rom
-now go to option 8 "AD Recovery" and hit the green call button to enter into the CWM recovery u just installed
-after it loads up (GO!GO!GO!) go down to the "mounts and storage" option that is third from the bottom and hit the call key.
-once there go to the last option "mount USB storage" and hit the call key.
-give your PC a few moments to recognize the sd card for your device and choose to open it when your PC prompts with the regular file explorer or just find it and double click on the newly recognized drive (sdcard) if your PC doesnt auto prompt you.
-now the new drive (sdcard) should be empty (depending...) then just find the desired rom you chose to use, right click on it and copy.....then over to the new drive (sdcard) and paste. might take a min or two depending on the roms size
-once the copying is complete hit the call button to "unmount" your sdcard then the back button on your device till your back at the CWM main screen
-now go to the fifth option down and "install zip from sdcard" and hit the call button
-now select the second option "choose zip from sdcard" and select the zip file you just copied to your sdcard. then it will begin to install the rom and all rom install times vary by build. some take a minute, some seem like they take forever.
-once installation is complete hit the back button till your back at CWM main screen and choose the last option which is to "power off"
-then tap the power button(if u unplugged it from usb otherwise it wil reboot by itself) to turn on your device and give it some time for the initial boot and load as it has to set up everything u just installed. subsequent boot wont take as long but again it can all vary from rom to rom.
-after initial load and a successful bootup you should arrive at ether the lockscreen or a startup screen. give the rom a few more mins to settle and dont hit any buttons. then unlock the device or skip through the startup options and get to the home screen. maybe give it another min to settle the launcher and the last bit of data and resist the urge to mess with the features. your gonna hate this but hold down the power button and select power off device from the popup menu. i know it sucks but it is best practice when flashing roms. after device shuts off wait a few seconds and turn it back on and let it reboot. should be faster this time and when u get to your lockscreen simply give it a few seconds to settle again, unlock and go to main launcher a wait a couple more seconds for it to finish settling and.....have fun! (every time i restart my device for any reason i will always give it a few moments to finish loading up before just blazing away with the apps)
WOW! maybe its not so abridged after all, but oh well tried my best to be as clear as possible so people can utilize their HD2 to its fullest potential.
HOPE THIS HELPS AND IF INDEED I HAVE PLEASE HIT THE THANKS BUTTON

It could be a corrupted zip. Try downloading again, if you've not tried that.

Hi..Thanks for the reply. I have downloaded many firmwares and still no joy.Rather annoying really as its just the last step and really need to finish it off. Anyone having a android firmware I could download? Again thanks in advance.
Finally managed to put android 2.2 on, don't know how but it is on there...but no connection to the internet, it says on the setting for mobile network no connection.
If someone could list how exactly to put android on my hd2 in lamans terms (lol) I would really appreciate it..i.e. what to flash first and so on.
I dont know if you read the following guides but they are pretty awesome. Follow the first link in order to get 2.2 on. I know you said you did it but I would do it again since I dont like starting in between steps, rather do it start to finish. Follow the second link to put another ROM on.

I rooted my LG-C660 by LG Esteem:
1.- You need to install the phone USB drivers (They are usually in the SD Card when they are new).
2.- If your pc has Windows 7, restart it, press f8 when starting and choose the "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" option. Your pc will load normally. (If you don't have windows 7 just skip this step).
3.- When the computer is ready, put the phone in USB depuration mode (Settings-> apps -> Development). Connect it to the USB port and be sure your computer recognize it well.
4.- Download LG Esteem. I can't post the URL but go to google and paste this "LG_Esteem_Root.zip mediafire" , you will find it in the first link.
5.- Unzip and run "Run.bat". The program will start. Just follow the on-screen instructions and after seconds it will be rebooted. After this, your phone it's going to be rooted and you will find the Superuser app.
Try it, hope it helps you.

Thanks a lot! :good:
It helped my friend's phone removing some stock apps that he never uses. The next step will be the solution to the lack of ram, but that will be another story. A new custom rom maybe...or a new phone.
Guys, Help, I get to No 3 of the instructions listed below, the box disapears and nothing else happens, I have downloaded from the links from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948, from these links
3. Download MAGLDR 1.13 package from *HERE* and extract to an empty folder on your pc
4. Download a NAND Android ROM from *THIS* Forum and extract to an empty folder on your pc any tips on how to over come the problem, keep the suggestions simple please
I've followed the instructions, but keep failing at No3 ....
Please help, lol, and keep it simple lol
1. FLASH MAGLDR TO YOUR DEVICE
The Original MAGLDR Thread by Cotulla is *HERE*
NOTE1: LEO512 and LEO1024 are both supported
NOTE2: MAGLDR doesn't replace OSPL/HSPL. It runs in the chain after. So it's safe to install and remove it
NOTE3: You can flash between 1.11, 1.12 and 1.13 versions on Magldr without losing your NAND Rom
1. Synch Phone with PC in Windows Mobile!!! It has to be connected to activesync or WMDC via USB cable
NOTE: As an alternative method to activesync you can restart your phone in Bootloader Mode, then connect the usb cable and wait until 'usb' appears in the bottom half of your phones screen
2. Browse to the folder you extracted your Magldr Package files to on your pc, right click on ROMUpdateUtility.exe and select Run as Administrator
3. Tick the box to confirm you are aware of the risks and select 'Next'
4. Tick the box to confirm you have followed the preperation steps and select 'Next'
* The program will now check the usb connection *
5. Select 'Update'
6. Verify the image you will flash (it should say 2.00.000.0) and Select 'Next'
7. Read the process list and Select 'Next'
8. Your phone will enter BootLoader Mode and the progress will goto 100%
9. Your phone will now Reboot. Congrats, you just flashed MAGLDR.
NOTE: To Enter MAGLDR Menu Screen after installation, Long Hold the Power Button when resetting the phone and the menu will appear
