[Recovery+Backup+Root] Walton Primo C1

Cautions:
1.your warranty is now void.
2.do this at your own risk.
3.read the whole post before starting.
Flashing CWM recovery and taking backup :
1. Download the package and extract all files.
2. Extract the driver.zip located in drivers folder->1
3. Install the driver.if your OS is 64bit then install the x64 one.if the OS is 32bit,then the x86 one.
4. Open researchdownload application
5. Select the 2nd button with double cog sign.
6. Now a new window will appear like the screenshot attached.
7. Right click on the file name field.choose the files located in "Required files" folder of the package.
be careful here.Put fdl1 in fdl1 field,fdl2 in 2nd field and the recovery image(extract the "CWM-recovery-SC8810-nonpadded.zip") in recovery field. Then press the "OK" button.
8. Press the Start (Play) button in ResearchDownload -application (third button).
9. Turn off the phone.
10. Keep holding the "- volume" key. Without releasing the button "- volume" plug the usb cable
11. The process of CWM- burning should be started now in ResearchDownload-application and it will take approximately 1 Minute.
I think you can release the Vol.Button, but I had kept it nevertheless.
12. Wait until the CWM-flashing has been finished (A green sign will appeare and "Passed" will be shown in ResearchDownload- application window).
13. Remove the battery, wait 20 seconds. Put battery back and turn on the phone.
14. now hold the vol (-) and power button until the screen flashes (40 seconds or less or more) and now you are in the CWM recovery menu.
15. PLEASE make a full backup by the "backup and restore" option .make sure there's about 500mb free space in your micro SD card.
16. after the backup reboot the phone and PLEASE store the backup files in somewhere else..(the whole ''clockworkmod'' folder)
congratulation. you have done a full backup and flashed your CWM recovery.
Rooting device:
*don't do this.if u find that your backup size is lower than 250mb~300mb(slight +/- may occur)
1. download and put the "superuserandfullbackup.zip" in your micro SD card
2. power off your device.
2. Reboot to Recovery by holding volume (-) and power button until the screen flashes and recovery menu comes.
3. just go to "install zip from sdcard option and select the zip "superuserandfullbackup.zip"
4. flash it
5. reboot.
Advices:
Rooting is dangerous.so first make a full backup of your unrooted stock Rom just after flashing CWM.
Store the backup(size will be around 250mb~300mb(+/- ) in someplace safe.it's the life of your phone. If anything goes wrong,it's the only key to fix your phone.......be careful.........
Getting back your warranty:
Restore your stock Rom's backup. Then, flash the stock recovery(included in the package.find it in RECOVERIES folder),in the same way you've flashed the CWM.
good luck.and thanks for reading this.

[TUTORIAL][GUIDE][HOW TO] Root Alcatel One Touch Pop S3 5050 | Every Android version

Hi everyone,I have been in possession of an Alcatel One Touch Pop S3 5050 for quite a long time and was not able to root it until recently.
I will share my method in this topic but first of all, I have to thanks Decker.Kaluga for developing a custom CWM recovery image that kind of work on this device. You can find a good tutorial on how to install CWM on OT-6036Y or OT-6050Y on his website.
My second thanks goes to morgs640 for the idea of adapting Decker's work on Alcatel Pop S3.
This method may work with other Alcatel devices, see last question in the FAQ section for more informations.
This method should not arm your device but as any root operation, there is always a risk. I am not responsible if anything goes wrong.
Click to collapse
Step One
- Download Decker's custom CWM recovery here: cwm_alcatel_6050y.7z
- Unzip it
- Install adb drivers
Step Two
- Download latest zip version of Supersu from Chainfire, currently the 2.46
- Rename the archive as update.zip
- Put this file in the CWM recovery folder
Step Three
- Connect the device in USB, activate debug option and make sure adb is working by going to the folder where you have unziped the custom recovery
Code:
adb devices
- Navigate inside the device memory to identify the location of the internal and external memory:
Code:
adb shell ls /storage/
For internal memory, it should be:
Code:
/storage/sdcard0
And for external memory (sdcard):
Code:
/storage/sdcard1
- Push the Supersu zip file to external memory
Code:
adb push update.zip /storage/sdcard1/
- Take note of the position of the update.zip file inside the external memory
Code:
adb shell ls /storage/sdcard1/
In my case, this command returns:
Code:
- Android
- DCIM
- Documents
- Download
- LOST.DIR
- Pictures
- Ringtones
- data
- media
- update.zip
My update.zip file is in 10th position.
Step Four
- Reboot the device in fasboot by pressing Volume Down and Power until logo Alcatel pop S3 appears
- Verify the device is connected:
Code:
fastboot -i 0x1bbb devices
Boot the device with the custom recovery:
Code:
fastboot -i 0x1bbb boot cwm_recovery_6050y.img
NOTE: This does not install the custom recovery on the phone so pressing Power during 5 seconds will reboot the phone normally.
The screen will turn white, wait until it stabilizes.
The screen will remain white as the recovery is not specially developed for this device but it should work anyway.
Step Five
This is the tricky part, the menu does not display but the recovery is running anyway.
The menu you are not seeing is the following:
Code:
> reboot system now
> install zip
> wipe data/factory reset
> wipe cache partition
> backup and restore
> mounts and storage
> advanced
By default the cursor is on the first option.
- Press Volume Down once then Power to enter the install zip option.
This menu will be opened:
Code:
> choose zip from /sdcard
> choose zip from /storage/sdcard1
> choose zip from last install folder
> install zip from sideload
> toggle signature verification
+++++Go Back+++++
- Press Volume Down once then Power to enter the choose zip from /storage/sdcard1 option.
This will open the external memory folder:
In my case:
Code:
Android
DCIM
Documents
Download
LOST.DIR
Pictures
Ringtones
data
media
update.zip
- As you know exactly the position of the update.zip file from Step Three, press Volume Down accordingly.
In my case, 9 times to go from Android folder to update.zip- Then press Power
It will prompt for a confirmation:
Code:
> No
> Yes - install update.zip
- Press Volume Down once then Power to install.
- Finally, Press Power one more time to confirm installation, then reboot manually the device by pressing Power during 5 seconds.
If the process has been successful, when rebooting it will display a text saying that the list of application is being updated.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit:
As neileverett suggested, the external memory sdcard could be recognized as sdcard0 instead of sdcard1.
To determine how the sdcard is named by the system, I recommend to use a browser as ES File Explorer or Astro Manager to write down all the content of the external memory and compare this list to the result of the ls command from Step Three.

FAQ
Q: My device never connect in adb.
A: First verify that adb drivers are installed.
In my case when I connect the phone, it first emulates a CD player device with a folder containing the generic drivers.
I have to safely remove this emulated CD first (right click on the System Tray icon -> remove device) before the phone accepts to connect itself with MTP or ADB.
Q: I do not have a sdcard.
A: You can try to do the process with internal memory.
First, you will need to navigate the memory with adb shell to find Internal memory
Code:
adb shell
Code:
shell#ls /storage/
shell#ls /mnt/
...
Some examples of the possible location of the internal memory
Code:
/storage/emulated/
/storage/sdcard0
/mnt/shell/emulated/0/
etc.
Sometimes, you get a menu like this prior the actual content of the sdcard0 (internal memory)
Code:
/0/
/legacy/
/obb/
After entering in /0/ or in /legacy/ you should get the actual content of the memory.- Then push update.zip to internal memory
Code:
adb push update.zip $INTERNAL_MEMORY_LOCATION
- In Step FIVE, while in the second menu, choose choose zip from /sdcard by directly pressing Power
From a system point of view, it can open /storage/emulated/ or /mnt/shell/emulated/ that means the folder opened will not be the Internal Memory but a parent folder.
I recommend that you try every possibility by:
- First considering that pressing choose zip from /sdcard led you to the actual Internal Memory content and you shall proceed as normally by looking for update.zip in the current folder.
If it did not work:
- Consider that a parent folder is displayed and the actual memory is in the first sub folder
- Press Power to enter the first sub folder (which may be the Internal Memory) and try to install update.zip- Consider that a parent folder is displayed and the actual memory is in the second sub folder
- Press Volume Down then Power to enter the second sub folder (which may be the Internal Memory)- ...
After each try, reboot and look for the pop-up saying that the list of application is being updated.
You can go on with up to 2 levels of sub folders.
Q: I tried everything, it still do not work.
A: If you have a lot of folders and files in the Memory, the list of content on the CWM recovery will be displayed on several pages.
Make a backup of the Memory, then empty it and add only the update.zip file.
Restart then from Step One.
It should be easier to find the update.zip file.
Q: I own a different Alcatel model, could this trick work with my device?
A: First you can try the other CWM Recovery image Deckter has developed: cwm_alcatel_6036y_v2.7z
To verify that the recovery is correctly booting on the device, when the white screen stabilizes, try to press Power twice.
If the recovery is working, it will enter in the first menu (reboot system now) then confirm the reboot.
In case, after this manipulation, the phone does not reboot, it means the recovery is not working for your device.

I have just successfully used this method to root my Pop S3 - thanks for the method!
One thing to note:
I found that the method didn't work initially, then with some digging realised that my sdcard was mounted as sdcard0 rather than sdcard 1. It turns out this is because I had changed the default install location under settings - storage to 'external sd card' rather than the default of 'phone storage'.
I temporarily changed this setting back to 'phone storage', and then your process worked first time! Might be worth adding this info to the post?
Thanks once again!
OMG !
So it works with the last update available ?

Decker is willing to develop a CWM for Alcatel Pop S3 but does not possess the device. You can support it on his website. You'll find a link in the description of the Tuto.
Thanks
first thank you for the help. but my visit is to ask permission to make a video tutorial and so Decker.Kaluga to advertise can buy the pops3 and thus make the cwm for it.

It's because you entered in the Alcatel Recovery mode not in Fastboot mode.
From Alcatel Recovery you can only install application signed by Alcatel.
Fastboot mode displays the Alcatel Pop s3 white logo on a black background (this is the first logo that appears when booting normally). Fastboot doesn't display anything else.
To enter Alactel Recovery it's: Power + Volume Up
To enter Fastboot it's: Power + Volume Down
You can also enter in Fastboot by entering the following while still in adb at the end of Step Three:
Code:
adb reboot fastboot
Once in Fastboot, go on with Step Four and so on.
Thanks for this

Rooting SM-T860 OneUi-3.1 and installing TWRP (UPDATE: Updating to latest version without losing data)

(EDIT)
OneUI 4.1 has finally arrived, if you haven't got your Tab s6 rooted, you can just follow the instructions below. This new part is for the people who followed the guide to root their Tab s6 and now want to update to the new firmware version without losing their data. This guide is inspired in https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...te-rooted-device-whilst-keeping-data.4245989/. But for simplicity of search I have decided to place it here
(END OF EDIT)
I ran into some problems and took some time to figure out how to install TWRP and root the tablet. The normal procedure by which you flash TWRP and then flash Magisk doesn't work as the download mode won't accept non-official files.
Then, once I got my tablet rooted by the patching method of Magisk, I installed TWRP with their app and got stuck in the logo due to not formatting the data.
After some research and quite a lot of time, I managed to get around that and be able to do everything.
Here is a step by step detailed guide of how to do so.
ATTENTION: These modifications void your warranty and may brick your device. I am in no way responsible for any damage you may cause. Follow this guide at your own risk
Requirements:
-> Latest version of the firmware of your model (I used this site which had the latest version and decent download speeds https://galaxyfirmware.com/model/SM-T860)
(To find which version to download, go into the Phone app, and type *#1234#)
-> Latest Magisk.apk file (https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases)
-> Disbale_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt zip file (https://zackptg5.com/android.php#disverfe)
-> Latest TWRP img (https://eu.dl.twrp.me/gts6l (europe) or https://dl.twrp.me/gts6l (americas))
-> Official TWRP tool (Play Store)
-> Samsung drivers (https://developer.samsung.com/android-usb-driver)
-> Latest Version of Odin (https://odindownload.com/SamsungOdin)
-> SD Card or Minimal ADB and Fastboot (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/tool-minimal-adb-and-fastboot-2-9-18.2317790)
(If SD card)
Copy Magisk, AP file from the firmware zip, Disable_dm zip and TWRP img into the SD card, else, you will have to use adb sideload
0. Create a backup of all your data (we are going to wipe the data of the tablet)
(Tablet)
1. Activate developer settings (go to Settings->About Tablet->Software information, and tap 5 times on build number).
2. Go into developer settings and activate OEM unlocking and USB debugging.
3. Turn off the tablet and turn it back on pressing Power + Vol. Down buttons to enter Device Unlock Mode.
4. Press and hold Vol. Up and in the next menu, press Vol. Up to unlock the bootloader (attention, this will erase all of your data)
5. Run through the setup, but be sure to activate the internet (this will prevent the tablet from relocking).
6. Activate developer settings again, and go into it to check that OEM unlocking is greyed out.
7. Install Magisk
(PC)
8. (No SD) Copy the AP file to the Tablet.
(Tablet)
9. Go into Magisk, press Install->Patch a file->Recovery mode (on)->Select file (The AP file).
10. Copy the patched file back into your computer.
11. Shut down the tablet.
12. Press Vol. Up + Vol. Down and connect the tablet to your computer with a USB to enter download mode.
(PC)
13. Open Odin, it should show that your device is connected.
14. Go to the settings tab and uncheck the Auto-Reboot option.
15. Flash all the files of the latest firmware, using CSC (not HOME_CSC) but substituting the AP file with the patched one. (With the WiFi version, you might not have a CP file, don't worry)
CRITICAL STEP (if not followed correctly, may lead to bootloop)
(Tablet)
16. Once the flashing is complete, press Vol. Down + Power during 7 seconds to restart the tablet. As soon as the screen blacks out, swap to Vol. Up + Power (and keep pressing even though it asks to press power) to enter the recovery.
17. In the recovery, navigate to Wipe data/factory reset with the volume buttons and press power button to select. Confirm and reboot.
18. While rebooting, you need to press Vol. Up + Power during 3 seconds (Until the press power to continue appears). This is due to Magisk being installed in the recovery partition.
19. Run through the setup again, but this time you need to login into your google account to enter the Play Store.
20. You should have the Magisk app installed. Open it and it will configure itself.
21. When it reboots, press again Vol. Up + Power for 3 sec.
22. Download the Official TWRP app.
(PC)
23. (No SD) Copy the latest TWRP image previously downloaded into the tablet.
(Tablet)
24. Go into the TWRP app and give it root permissions.
25. Enter TWRP flash and select the latest TWRP img
26. Go into the reboot menu and select reboot recovery.
27. The phone will reboot into TWRP.
28. Tick don't show this message again and slide to allow modifications.
29. Wipe -> Wipe data, Cache and Dalvik and Format data.
30. Reboot -> Recovery.
31. (SD) Flash Disable_DM-Verity zip, and then flash Magisk zip.
32. (No SD) enter the advanced menu and open adb sideload. Connect to the PC, open Minimal adb and fastboot and adb sideload the zip files.
33. Reboot system
Congrats, you have a rooted Samsung Galaxy tab S6 with TWRP installed!
FAQ:
1) Ok, I f* up, I am now stuck in the Samsung logo, what do I do?
Press Power and Vol. Down for 7 seconds, this will auto reboot your tablet. Then, as soon as the screen goes off, try to press Vol. Down + Vol. Up and connect through USB to the PC. With some luck, you manage to get into download mode. If you don't, repeat.
Flash the files with the Magisk modified AP, reboot into recovery and factory reset (follow the next instructions if you want to install TWRP), or else flash the stock rom.
2) I am seeing some screens with some warning messages, is that Ok?
Yes, it is normal, Samsung does that to scare people off from installing modifications on their devices. Can I take them off? Yes, but it is not a simple process. If you really want to, follow this guide, but adapting to the device (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...sage-on-samsung-a30-after-root-device.3954589). Another important thing is, when you want to enter recovery, you need to keep pressing Vol. Up + Power, even when the tablet displays the message that asks to press the power button.
3) Don't know... You ask
Works perfectly, thank you!
I have a question: to decrypt the internal memory which files can I flash?
