I have downloaded launcher pro, but can't find an install button? - G Tablet General

thanks for your help

It installs after you install. Hit the "Home" button. If that doesn't bring up the option to select a home screen you may need to download and install it again.

After you dl and install LP hit menu button and then hit preferences. Customize as you want and you have it. After all customizations hit back to go to home screen. Hit menu again and select LP from the window that pops up

Hit home and select LP. Sorry for typo

[XT720] Flash Player attempts...

Ok, I'm trying to find some way to install Flash Player on XT720 running Eclair.
I read this thread about flash on EVO 4G (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695965)
And this thread about flash on Spica (http://forum.samdroid.net/f28/howto-flash-spica-browser-too-1688/)
And tried to do the same with my XT720.
It failed.
1) I downloaded flash_for_21.apk and installed it with appInstaller (my initial attempt). It installed, I rebooted. No flash.
2) I downloaded flashupdate.zip and FlashPlugin.apk and put it in sdcard root directory.
3) I put my XT720 in recovery mode, here's how:
Recovery mode
- Turn Off Phone.
- Press and hold "View Gallery Mode" Key and Power Key together to Power On the phone until the recovery screen show up (with the /!\ sign).
- Press Volume Up + "Take Photo" Key to show the recovery menu
- Use Volume Up/Down Keys to navigate and "Take Photo" Key to select stuff on the menu.
Click to collapse
4) I selected "apply sdcard:update.zip", it says "E:signature verification failed. Installation aborted"
5) I went back into Android and renamed flashupdate.zip to update.zip
6) Went back into recovery mode, tried it again. Still same error.
7) I used appInstaller to install FlashPlugin.apk, and then I moved FlashPlugin.apk from /sdcard/ to /system/app
8) Checked with whatismyflash.com, didn't work
As I understand this only works with "HTC-devices", what probably means sense system installed. The already installed flashlite-framework could be used with this changed (full)flash-apk.

This is pretty much what happens. The framework is already there for devices with Sense, so it basically replaces flash lite in this case. Same thing with the Galaxy phones.
Don't bother with that thing. If u wanna see flash videos, just use SkyFire browser

The flashing zips isnt "within" the app when you open it. Open the app and then hit the top button. This will hijack the boot process. Then press on "success" when it comes up. Then press "reboot recovery". This will reboot your phone into the hijacked recovery and allow you to do a full backup of your phone. Use the volume up/down keys to.navigate and the camera button to select. Go to backup/restore, then backup.
See my guide for more info:

Thx for stoppin by. I've actually read your guide about 20 times So I do what you said and I'm "backed up"...well, thats gotta be good, but I STILL don't see how I flash the 2.3.340deodex.zip that deodex's me.
You simply use the bootstrapper app to boot into recovery and select install zip from SD card then choose zip then navigate to the zip then select it then press yes
Got it.thx

[Q] Xperia J

Hey guys, I have xperia j, i love the stock launcher, but i don't like the stock rom because its sometimes slow and its sound is low, so i installed a rom instead but i want to keep the stock launcher here because i dont like the rom launcher, Understand me?
Simply.. i want the stock launcher to work on the installed rom, how can i do that?
Please answer me as fast as possible, Thanks! =)
Ok, providing you are root open root explorer( download it from playstore) go to /system /app and find the launcher ( usually home.apk ) and copy it to your sdcard. Then flash your custom Rom, copy your launcher from sd to system /app and set permissions to rw-r-r-.Then reboot. For activating your launcher press the home button. If you getting fcs ask from a dev to port the launcher

Use ES file explorer or some app like it to set permission, in es file explorer press options key then you'll find root explorer in tools press it and grant superuser permission to it and mount r/w, select rw for all 3 options and then copy home.apk to system/app and select it goto properties, you'll find permissions there click change and make it rw-r-r. That's it.
PS- you must have root access for it

yeah i've done that but after all the steps nothing happens, and when i try to install it, it says "App not installed"
sorry for bothering but im still a newbie
Don't try to install the app manually. Just put it to system /app , set correct permissions and reboot. After reboot finished press the home button.

done, nothing happened :/
Did you pressed the home button. You must press it after unlocking you SIM and screen. Also, a window may pop up asking you with what app you want to process and you must select your stock launcher. If none of the above worked then go settings>applications find the launcher that comed preinstalled with your Rom and select clear defaults. For further help you can ask from someone to do a proper port. I can't help further.

I did a little research and i found this guide.
I can't help you further. If you failed to solved your problem, although you followed the guide, then your best bet is to post a request on your device
forum.
before flashing rom just add ur stock launcher.apk in zip of custom rom
path=system/app

I will work, only if the rom is stock-based. If it is cm-based, or aosp-based it won't work.

advanced power menu?

How to extend advance power menu ? I want to press power menu option such as reboot ,recovery mode ,shutdown.
Searching for same thing. Did you find anything?

You'd need to edit framework-res.apk for that.
I tried to decompile it but it just tosses errors at me. Same with SystemUI.
I use the app Quick Reboot (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.antaresone.quickreboot), it does fine but it's not at the actual power menu :/
