[Q] Paying for US Marketplace apps in UK - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok so was thinking how to pay for US apps if you do not live in UK.
Did anyone try the prepaid mastercard cards from US?
If they work then it would be not that hard to find a friend or a friend of a friend in US that could post one up for you, then you topit up online and use as needed

The Marketplace is international, you have access to all the apps that exist worldwide unless the service doesn't exist in your country like Netflix. If you want a US app it's most likely available in the UK marketplace too.

[Q] Sweden iphone 4 in United States

Hello, everyone. i have gotten my hands on a iphone 4 from Sweeden but i live here in the United States. Does anyone know how i can get it unlocked to work here? I have unlocked other phones but none from another country. Is it even possible to get it unlocked without an active sim card from Sweeden? Thank you for any insight you might be able to give me.
hope this helps
More then likely you need to cocntact the service provider to get the device" unlocked" so it can be used with another carrier. If they say no then search the web for a person or shop that would do it for a fee, after that you should be able to use it in the states but not all carriers can use the device
Go here and post your question there

[Q] [ROGERS] CIBC Mobile Payment App

Apparently Rogers and CIBC have rolled out the mobile payment app but I can't find it in the market on my Nexus S...
What I want to know from the people that may have it, can you add ANY visa/mastercard like Google wallet or is it only for CIBC credit cards?
Also, if you can share the apk file, that would be cool too.
Please note that the CIBC mobile banking app is not the same thing as the mobile payment app.
I'm pretty sure the app comes pre-installed on select roger device's. It may be some time before we see the apk for it.

It's only for select Blackberry handsets sold by Rogers, they promise other handsets in the future but unlikely unless everybody upgrades to Android 4.2 for security
Also only works with CIBC cards.

Oh well. Back to the waiting game for us Canadians.
Google wallet will probably work for us before Rogers does anything about it.

There's tricky ways to do it, but you can actually end up with a permanently broken google wallet doing it. Just too much of a hassle, in case Google wallet ever officially comes to Canada.
What were you looking for exactly? Like an app where you can just use NFC to pay for stuff? Or some sort of visa/mc transfer system like Liquid Payments/Liqpay?
Also if your phone is rooted, that's basically giving your credit card/bank info away probably why there is no support for android banks are too scared of the potential epic fraud
Its now confirmed that it's only for BlackBerry's at the time. Confirmation here. Also you can see it on Rogers website here. I guess they really want to make sure this system is secure and locked down, so I honestly would not expect it to come to android any time soon or at all for that matter. Just my opinion though.

Suitable as an unlocked world phone?

I am considering the Moto G to use as an unlocked world phone. I am US based and would plan to purchase the phone from the Google Play Store. I would use a Tmobile sim and plan to use the international roaming benefit associated with T Mobile accounts. As such, this would give me voice, messaging and lower speed data internationally. I will not have a large data need while traveling internationally. Limited data through TMobile combined with wifi will be fine. This would not be my daily driver domestically.
Primary areas of travel would be UAE, Kuwait, Mexico, Canada and the EU.
Is there any technical reasons why this phone would not be suitable as I describe above?

Need a better/reliable service for Samsung Region Unlock ?

Hi I'm from India,Kerala. We have a large number of people working on gulf countries so a large number of gulf handsets. And most of them are Samsung, and most of them are region locked. In the past it wasn't an issue thanks to XDA i used regionlockaway.apk to remove the region lock but it's not possible now with the new handsets.
What I'm asking here is a cheapest yet reliable way to unlock the phone. I think there is no software trick out there which is free so I'm willing to pay but I want to know the most reliable and most cheapest services out there If anyone know please do help.
Thanks in advance :good:

thanks! for unlocked pixel, are there any more store? in addition to google stores
You can only buy unlocked versions directly from Google. Verizon Wireless and other physical stores only carry the locked version. Granted, it's not locked to Verizon's network, it just wasn't supposed to be able to be rooted. But we found a way around that!
