Hey All,
I am looking for something I am not sure exists, I would like to get a SIM card extension cable. Something like this:
[SIM SLOT on device] < =======( extension cable ) <======= [ External SIM Slot ] < === SIM CARD
The idea is to move the current location of the Slot so users can change the card without opening the device.
Thank you for your help;
I'm looking for the same thing. Did you ever figure anything out here?
I found something similar
I registered to this site just to answer your questions.
here is a link to the closest thing that i have found, i need it to extended my iphone 4's micor simcard to a mini simcard.
(just add the www)
usbfever.com/index_eproduct_view.php?products_id=2180
but i think that you would possibly find it even easier or more helpful looking at those cable/extensions.

Hi,
First, I'm new around here, so hello everyone!
I've purchased a P525 which I should receive soon.
My question
According to this article, the P525 might qualify as being host capable, meaning one could plug some USB card reader into the P525 USB port and use whatever data stored on a CF or SD card for instance. For example, I have a card reader and a 8GB CF card filled with music would it be possible to use this data using the P525? Does anyone ever attempted to use some host function on a P525?
I've googled this topic in every way but found no one that ever mentioned this was tried on a P525...
Huh? No one ever tried if host function works on a P525 ??
OK then, an easy one : I've noticed some of you are using a 4GB minisd card on their P525. I know the device will not comply with SDHC standard, but what about regular minisd? What combination of brand (TOPRAM?) and ROM does this need to work?
MANY THANKS !!
P525 has no support for USB host. This is hardware limitation.

Thank you Ingvarr ! Well, I've asked because if you follow the link to the article in my first post, you would read this:
«Intel has built in USB Host functionality into the PXA27x series of chips»
But of course, if ASUS never implemented it ... that's way too bad - unless someone finds out it can be done using a software solution. I just hope I'll find the way to have a 4GB minisd card to work with the P525, because 2GB is just too short.
HERE
There's someone named Ingvarr (coincidence?) who designed a nice little program that can play host with a WM5 device.
Can't wait to try it on my P525 once I get it...
OUPS ! Sorry Ingvarr.. I've just realized your app is not meant for what I had in mind... Nice program though.
I just got my HTC Kaiser (TyTn II variety?) through an importer. I have a set of questions I would like to ask.
1) If my Kaiser is really unbranded, shouldn't it be security-free? That is SIM unlocked, CID unlocked, etc. It seems to have the External Rom locked and info 2 from the bootloader gives me the following:
--------------------------
Card inserted
Cmd5 CMD_TIMEOUT
SD 2.0 LC card
SD Init OK
Card inserted
Cmd5 CMD_TIMEOUT
SD 2.0 LC card
SD Init OK
Card inserted
Cmd5 CMD_TIMEOUT
SD 2.0 LC card
SD Init OK
HTCSDOPOD001Û<wHTCE
--------------------------
I am under the impression from a couple of threads I read that my CID would then be DOPOD001.

1) It probably is locked, but no matter, we have all the tools to unlock everything.

2) If it isn't SIM and CID unlocked, I would want to flash HardSPL and run the SIM and CID unlocker by jockeyw right?

Yep.

3) Will either HardSPL or the SIM/CID unlocker erase my data?
agreenagent said:
Nope. The CID unlocker shouldn't mess with anything. The SIM unlocker requires you to get a copy of your current radio ROM first, and there's links to download any of the radio roms on these forums somewhere.

4) Where can I find an "Operator Profile" for AT&T for my Kaiser? When I first turned it on it notified me that "Your operator (some number here) is not recognized... Please select an operator profile". I entered into the Network Wizard and tried to select the United States for my country but that option is not there because it was imported directly from Taiwan.

I found a cab that has some settings for AT&T. This was very helpful. My thanks go to alltheway for posting the cab file. This sets up the internet and messaging settings quite nicely. It doesn't however solve the nagging problem of the message I mentioned above.
5) I really liked the feature on the HTC Hermes that allowed you to press and hold the call end button for 5 seconds to kill the data connection. It seems to work for the Kaiser but it also locks the screen. Is there a way to disable that method of locking the screen so that holding the call end button JUST kills the data connection?

I know that Dutty fixed the endkey program in this latest rom. With that, you can kill the data connection

Now the question is whether or not there is a way to get this fix in a form that doesn't require reflashing the phone. Thanks for your help!
6) Everybody around here seems to know the ins and outs of the kaiser bootloader including all the commands and things but the information doesn't seem to be out there. Is anybody planning on releasing a comprehensive guide to some basic bootloader commands any time soon? It took me forever to find out how to check my CID and I figured it out by chance in the first place.
Thanks for your great patience with all my questions! I hope that I used due diligence in searching the forums for answers before posting my own topic. When I find the answers to my question I will edit my question to put the answer in it so that others may find all the answers in the first post. Thanks again!
Also, many thanks to agreenagent for answering my most important questions! Thanks man!

I figured that instead of cluttering the forum with multiple threads, I'd just use this one thread and change the title accordingly. Now I have a new question, which is this: I have the original HTC rom on my phone. It is pretty clean (I think) and is tweaked pretty much the way I want it to be. However, there are a million other Kaiser roms out there all claiming that they are better in some way. (and I'm sure that they are. People put a lot of effort into them!) However, I have to ask, what reasons are there for me to go to the trouble of flashing a non-manufacturer rom? It seems like a lot of the roms are aimed at changing branded phones into unbranded phones. What advantages are there and what disadvantages are there to flashing a cooked rom? I hope that the answers I receive will help others decide what they want to do. Like before, I will quote the helpful answers in my post so that people don't have to search the entire thread for answers. Thank's for your patience with a n00bie.
I'm not the most knowledgable guy on this stuff, but since nobody else responded to you, I will. I've been messing around with this stuff for ~2 months since I got my Tilt (Kaiser).
1) It probably is locked, but no matter, we have all the tools to unlock everything.
2) Yep.
3) Nope. The CID unlocker shouldn't mess with anything. The SIM unlocker requires you to get a copy of your current radio ROM first, and there's links to download any of the radio roms on these forums somewhere.
4) There's a link to download it somewhere on these forums. I have it backed up somewhere because I need to use it every time I install a new rom. If you really can't find it, PM me and I'll send it to you, but I don't think you'll have trouble.
I don't really know the answers to the last two questions, maybe someone else can help you out.
For the second to last one, I know that Dutty fixed the endkey program in this latest rom. With that, you can kill the data connection
By nagging problem you mean that it says operator not recognized? If the only issue is that it says that, you should be able to disable that notification in settings -> sounds and notifications - but I'm not sure, I can't replicate that problem.
You might just be best off flashing a new ROM onto the phone. You'll lose your stuff (but it's easy enough to back it all up), but it might just be a better alternative overall. I like Dutty's roms, but you can probably just get the US version of the kaiser rom if you just prefer stock stuff.
Thanks for the advice. I was just hoping for a real fix for those of us who are either too lazy or too scared to flash the rom and like their shipped HTC roms. Its really a non issue... I was just having an OCD moment.
The main reason is to add/subtract functionality you want/don't want on the phone. Some of them add the touchflo from the HTC Touch, some take out a lot of unnecessary crap. Also, a lot of cooked roms perform faster. I know dutty spends a lot of time speeding everything up.
I think in your case you could probably just get the english version of the kaiser rom that isn't trying to connect to an asian service. But it is worth looking through all the roms.
Does anyone know of a software or program that will allow me retrieve deleted stuff from my Sim card?
I'm sure some of you will think, GOOGLE is my friend but what I need is feedbacks from people who have use such a software or program.
Thanks for any input
this rom was awesome the best rom so far for xperia 2011 line ups, but one thing are missing, the "Sim Tool Kit" i can't find it anywhere in the device cause i have some important message stored in my sim card and i can't find it?? also i can't also receive business cards from other device,, make this rom lighter and its the best! love the music player and the gallery albums!!
please fix the Sim Tool Kit and the business card which i can't receive
thank you
Hello.
My android tv box without micro usb port & sd card slot.
How to update
Maybe you need to insert a pin between the two USBs to get one of them communicating as a slave and thus being able to upgrade Android.
Be carefull though, it is just a suggestion ,it might damage the product.
Just my 2cts.

IF there is a update from the manufacturer there must be a guide. Have you just typed the model name into a search engine?
