So i'm actually an mma fighter/competitor with a passion for the sport in general (blue belt BJJ and 2 time NAGA tournament 1st place). I love watching mma fights from UFC,Strikeforce,Dream,AFFLICTION ..etc. What i do is download videos from youtube or wherever and watch em on my phone while commuting to work. I always wanted a MMA app that shows moves or tutorials, fights those kinda things..... yesterday i received word that 3-4 apps just came out for the iphone that do exactly that (one of my sparring partners has the apps and a iphone) they show you moves tutorials etc, crystal clear videos and audio and not no half A$$ instructors either. these apps really are amazing and i havent seen anything on the dream/G1 to compare. while they arent fights they're still 1 step ahead....
Strike 1 was MG solid for the iphone = the game is tight
Strike 2 MMA apps for the iphone = these apps are a must have for me
i hope there isnt a strike 3
I still am kinda pissed...to be honest
wow
One thing u have to realize is Android and the g1 r a year younger than the g1. So what if the market doesn't have mma apps, I have been asking for a Danny blacklist app since I got the phone. No one made it but I didn't care. I like Android becuase it is open source witch if u haven't noticed it allowed the devs to cook us up tasty time and themes. So I guess if Ur unsatisfied becuase of a few apps that aren't avalible on the g1 then wth get an iPhone. I hope you enjoy being Steve Jobs' tool!

You might of missed a few pointers but comment is appreciated i guess. I'm not hating the g1 at all bro it just one upped the g1 on one of my PASSIONS in LIFE not just because of a app.
Plus all i need is to trade my dash for an ipod touch
Contact the Dev and ask him if hes remotely interested in porting it to the G1. Couldn't hurt to try.

There's a lot more money in the iphone app market than the G1. The way I see it I would rather have apps and work from devs that want to better the community rather than dev that are only in it for a profet. Open source FTW.
By the way I have been bugging dynolicious devs to port to android to no avail. Just wait till the android market share is up a little more and we might start seeing ports to the platform. Remember Androids just a baby.
o ok...

i should apologize for my tone. i kinda came off as a douche nozzle its just when i hear people raving about the iphone it grinds the hell outta my gears. the way i see it, they r like children, they dont think for themselves. they only think what apple and jobs wants them to. i dont understand how anyone can like a fone that in its thrid generation finally received the ability to record video and sent mms. i just dont understand
Porting from C to Java isn't that huge of a jump.
Make contact with the developer, and maybe see about paying his barrier to entry ($25).
I'm sure if he isn't already developing in the android market, he wouldn't mind seeing how it goes. ; )
Wait before you get an iPhone please ask your self... Are you going to jailbreak it? If yes please don't as you are now a risk to the national security. Seeing how you have a rooted G1(guessing) you are not a threat thus i believe like was said before devs are now going to now more then ever make apps for Android seeing how its more open and Dev happy.
i say that you get an itouch! i have an itouch so i can keep up with apple applications and mods.. But i'd rather have a g1 because it seems like everything is customizable and its fun learning about themes and flashing roms

If you want access to the iPhone's currently deeper library, then get an iPhone. Not really hard to come to that simple conclusion. Hopefully this thread will be locked soon.

hey guys please dont be mad im just trying to see if this will help ur development as i want a g tablet myself currently i am in the hd2 android development forums on xda and there a guy found some honeycomb for desire hd i know honeycomb is suppose to be for tablets so i thought why not let u guys see what u could do with it here a link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=960503 or u could just google hd2 android development xda its there in the nand development part of it the devs in there are working on porting it to hd2 maybe ur devs can get it working
most of the gtab devs are still working on gingerbread.
I would imagine that they won't focus on Honeycomb until an official SDK is released. Right now everything you are seeing is probably based off of the preview SDK.
Google has 30 days to release the SDK after someone releases the first product (probably the XOOM) with honeycomb on it.
trust me, i'm patiently waiting too...
Yeah, probably it is ported from the SDK preview so it is not very usefull to usbecause it is not complete and it doesnt suports our dual core.

Really? i though we were really waiting for the xoom release because the rom could be ripped out from the xoom and ported for our beloved tablet.(Xoom release this thursday)
I also though, because i read a post, that making a rom from an SDK was not very convinient and that it implied a lot of work. I could be wrong or i could have read wrong.
BTW: I think this is the wrong section to post this. XD, I could be wrong about that also.
Well, I think it's possible to port it from xoom to gtab.
Buy me one and I'll do it for you, for free! =D
Cheers
Not development. Moved to General.
It could be an SDK port, but I'll check it out. Thanks for the link.
EDIT: Yeah, this looks like an SDK port - I can tell just from the build.prop.
Folks at NotionInkHacks claim they are close to a port already:

When a real honeycomb rom is available i guarantee there will be a stickied topic in development. NotionInkHacks are no closer than anyone else. Some of the same people are working on their roms as the GTab roms. Everyone is still missing the same files.
yeah, probably you are right. I hope we can get those files from the Xoom in its release this Thursday.
The A-Team at Notion Ink Hacks takes pride in our secrecy and the ability to get things done. We are very close to porting Honeycomb for both the Notion Ink Adam and the Viewsonic GTab. However, we need your help to find a Tegra based Boot.img and System.img for Honeycomb.

I'm guessing that's all the xda developers here need to get Honeycomb up and running gtab also.
Don't worry about Adam versus GTAB - they are so similar that if one gets it, the other won't be far behind. And the VEGA too, we'll all benefit I'm sure.
Hello all, I am looking for a small group of developers looking to make an opensource port for the HP touchpad. I currently have an android tablet, and I'm looking to port android to this cheap yet powerful(debatable) tablet!
add me on skype: Rockinoutt93
look forward to working with you guys/Gals!
make it happen!
there is already a thread discussing this
Join the group from above, the more smart people working on this the better for the community. There will be some nice rewards for you if you are able to port it first and by yourself though....
will see what I can do =3
well based on the community gathering here im gonna go buy one at 99 bones i cant really go wrong.

For $99, even if it has no apps to download it's still a good deal. Much better than many of the nameless single-core Froyo Android tablets selling at your local pharmacy. None of those is as cheap as $99 btw.
I haven't been developing for very long, and am still learning, but I am willing to help with this project to the best of my abilities. I am also willing to donate to those who help this project become a reality.
I love you guys!!!!!
Best $99 ever spent

I just bought a couple 32gb TouchPads. Let me know how I can help!
I cannot post a link but there is a group of people working on this project over on rootzwiki. Might be nice if everyone got together.. Or possible had a race
Rumor also has it that the dev team over ay Cyanogen is working on developing a port for this as well. So there is definitely a lot of interest in this. There are even some dev teams that are trying to get Ubuntu/Linux to run as well.
I think that since someone was able to run gingerbread on the Pre that this should be something that someone could pull off. We will just have to keep supporting the developers and this will be an amazing accomplishment.

I lol'd at the "The TouchPad is the new HD2." Luckily, I have both now.
Also, I think the new name for the TouchPad should be the LootPad. I'm not sure how your guys' experiences were at where you bought it but it felt like a moment of panic on the Titanic as it was sinking.
I hope this thread will remain on-track with discussions of porting Android. The other thread started on that topic is a total mess now, as 95% of the 34 pages are about where to buy the touchpad now.
Very interested in following a genuine discussion on an Android port. I have an HD2 and can't believe how perfect the CM7 (and earlier Froyo) port is. You can't even tell it was ever a WM 6.5 phone.
This is already going on at Touchdroid. Might be a good idea to copy and paste their progress here. They only ask that if you're not deving, don't post, they have a lot going on. Link to thread below

I will donate to developers who can manage to get the ICS SDK ROM and the Galaxy Nexus dump (once leaked) to run properly with everything working on the G2X. I would like to see the Galaxy Nexus app dump mixed with the SDK Rom. My Twitter is @ts0cha0tik
Hit me up once you have it working... I will need video proof and will need to run the rom myself. $30 to $50 donation depending on the quality of the build and the constancy updating it. I do not mind donating to you more than once. Just make it happen
Must be working:
Wifi
Data
Mobile Phone
Sync
Gapps
BT
FFC
Widgets
I too will donate the same amount as this user, but if you can get it working for Mytouch 4G as well. My twitter @s_jets
Me 3 I would graciously donate $50 or more depending on quality

Agreed. Y'all are kind of jumping the gun here. I know you want it now, but just be patient. The last thing you want is something that's been rushed. There shouldn't be deadlines on these types of things. ICS will be released, and when it is, the devs will get to work on it. Just...chill for a bit, lol.
Man, a lot of these threads going around.
It's not gonna happen with out source. Might as well give the money to CM team as they will be the first to get a ROM out with everything functioning. Source isn't going to be dropped until the Nexus is out. So I won't even expect source to drop at the very earliest maybe beginning of December. Then it will probably take the CM team maybe a month or two to get Alpha builds out. So realistically, I honestly don't expect ICS builds for this phone until maybe the middle of Jan to beginning of Feb of next year.
You can't get a stable rom from an SDK dump. You can only get a buggy rom with most things not working. The SDK drivers are not compatible with most phones. You have to wait for source and that might still be difficult as the drivers on our phone are for GB. They need to be compiled for ICS and without source and LG releasing an ICS rom this is going to be very difficult to do, even for the most talented devs.

Very well put my thoughts exactly! Donating to these developers shouldn't be a "do this for me and I'll donate" situation. It should be done simply for the fact that we wouldn't have ANY of this without them to begin with. Too many people think they're just entitled to everything (I'm not talking about the original poster just people in gerneral ) even when it's already given to them for free!! I completely understand why some developers get fed up and quit working on these phones because of people who piss and moan about everything, without even contributing in the least bit. And it's because of those entitle people we've already lost a few awesome developers, which sucks but who can blame them? Can you imagine what it would be like to work your ass off just so you can give something to someone for free, and instead of being thanked for your hard work, all they do is complain about it? Just go to the Market and read some of the reviews on a FREE app for an example of that ****!! These assholes don't have to spend a dime on the app, yet all they do is sit there and complain about it!! God I hate people sometimes! LOL So my point is that if you enjoy having your phone rooted and having access to things you never would've without rooting it, then that's the reason you should donate to these developers. (End Rant)
Personally, I say we pool a bounty for a working AOSP build. Even the best SDK port won't touch a legit build. I'd put some money towards someone laying down the foundations for a native port.

Solarnz is working on it. He has a video on youtube showing it pseudo working. Radios aren't working but it boots lol. The thread is in the general section somewhere.

First off, unfortunately, I don't see much development of any kind for the Xoom -let alone an ICS ROM. Secondly, the good news is -we are at the top of the queue for an official ICS release. This maybe why no one is bothering to step-up to the plate.
I kinda figured that..yeah it's ad we have probably one of the sweetest and most powerful tablets yet we get shunned like a KIRF from Engadget. Upsets me sometimes to see the editorials and things about us like we are not AOSP and dual core with 10inch screen,,Like were a Touch Sensitive, plastic screened hacked piece of crap...
Glad to know someone is working on a build finally. This by far should have been the easiest build out of them all as it was built on our tablets to begin with.
Well I don't think it was built for the tegra 2, so that is an issue that has to be ironed out. Plus, I am sure there are some driver issues that need to be worked out. I'd assume once an official ICS build comes out for us that will help with the drivers to get everything working. I wouldn't put it past the devs working it now to have done before the official build.

As for being iJobs, that condescending quiff Johnathan Geller, aka The BOY Genius, is a shameless Apple fanBOY. If you went to his site for a review about a product from one of Apple's competitors you could have gotten a more objective review from Steve Jobs himself (R.I.P Steve).

Off Topic:
The hipsters and ijobs all left engadget for the verge, in my opinion. If anything they seem less biased now since the exodus...
On Topic:
The AOSP 4.0 that's out there now isn't optimized for tegra and doesn't include any device support for any tegra devices, so the devs are stuck using Honeycomb binaries for some parts for now. That's left things in a semi-working state, which we are dilligently trying to hack around, but not much more progress is probably going to be made until google and nvidia release source that is truly compatible with the Xoom. It's Google/Nvidia more than Motorola here.
I'll add sources on request, but google specifically nvidia's november 30th statement about the xoom ICS source, and look at dev threads for other tegra tablets (on here and Tabletroms.com).
