There's already a thread that discussed this here in the forum, you might search and find it for more details, but I believe the consensus was it's a hardware issue and to take the phone back.

This is crazy the people at bestbuy are gonna think I am retarded lol ive returned about 5 phones now 2 mt4g ****ty screen and 1 mt4g she gave me by accident that was white. Then 2 nexus's one of them had some stuff under the screen the next one had a dead black pixel around the middle of the screen.Last time I went there which was yesterday all of them like oh I remember you..... She tried to push the blacktie program saying there is unlimited exchanges on it but I dont have a credit card or I would I think.Anyways im gonna go to a different bestbuy and do it lol......

My phone isnt broken, it still operates but my screens colors are gone... id hope there is something i can do other than a warranty exchange because i have hard spl'ed my phone and this is just a huge mess! =( please help! I didnt drop it in water or drop it at all, it was in my pocket, i took it out... and now everything looks faded and washed out =( it slowly looks like its coming back, but i dont think itll ever be the same =(
I'm no expert, take out the battery and SIM card..blow on the phone, go to McDonalds, grab a 5 piece Nugget and some BBQ sauce...eat the McNuggets and then put the battery back in along with the SIM...charge the battery to 100% and turn it on and see what happens.
Sounds like an LCD issue. Can you post a picture? Unfortunately, every white screen washout I've seen has ended with a return.
See this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332236
Out of the three, two needed to be replaced. There may be some hope with removing the battery though, but the guy that had the luck left it out over a whole vacation.
It's better to return if still under warranty
I have similar problem with HTC 8125... i know you have a Tilt. my suggestion is to return it if it's under warranty. you can reverse back to the original settings. just check out other posts.
same problem
has anyone figured out how to solve this problem? i have the same issue with my htc tilt. however, the screen toggles between the "washed out" screen and the normal beautiful screen. i have dismantled the device several times using Mike's instructions, but i cant figure out which connectors are out of place please please help me out. i can't afford another screen/phone right now

ohh sucks..yeah i got my 8125 off ebay and it crapped out on me like 4months later....tried to replaced screen and nothing...
i guess your only option would be to try and get a new screen or something
Washed out screen
I got the same problem took it to AT&T and replaced it. But what worries me now is that I have changed my mobile 3 times already and this is the fourth one. Every time it was a different issue. I wonder once I run out of warranty, which happens towards the end of this year then what? I wish there is some other option of extended warranty or anything that can be taken now.
Fix the screen. Here is directions on how to accomplish that: http://www.mindsofwisemen.com/fileso/other/ReplacingTheLCDonaKaiser.pdf

Help! I took the phone out of my pocket and it won't turn on. Tried pulling the battery. Plugging into wall charger does not light up the LED. Tried holding down power button, holding down volume button and then press power button. No response... Any other suggestions?
Has my phone died? I only got it on Friday, and is all stock. Have not rooted, never dropped or wet the phone. This is not good.
At least it's brand new and you can get another. Sorry man
Take it back and get a replacement
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Yeah, I might have to take it back for replacement. This is not good... I hope it's just an isolated incident. Usually with an iPhone or Captivate, pretty easy to reset and bring back to life... Now I'd be scared to root and flash ROMs in the future if so easy to die.
Was your phone rooted? What Rom did you install?

My phone is completely stock. Never rooted and have not flashed any ROMs at all. Have not even sideloaded any apps.
Just got it exchanged for a brand new phone. The Costco cell booth guy couldn't get it started either. Hopefully won't happen again.

Any new phone would be covered in the OP's case as it's within the return window and warranted by the mfgr. Insurance wouldn't need to be used.
Strange, hope it doesn't happen again!
i haven't had any issues with mine. sounds like a defective product from the box. glad you got it taken care of.

My girlfriend bought this phone last night after i hyped it up cuz i have the evo. Anyway she got it home let it fully charge we went to use it and the screen wouldn't come on but if you held it to the light you could see all the capacitve dots (don't know if thats what they are) in the screen and you could see the clock and icons almost as if the screen was on without the backlight. so we had to pull the battery it worked for a about 15 minutes while i showed her stuff and when i went to log into the market i got a "force close" error and the htc splash screen came up and then it kinda did an awkward boot loop thing. it wouldnt stop so i pulled the battery again and now it is dead just like the OP phone no charging lights anything. i've read around the net a little bit and it don't sound like an isolated thing. i'm taking her phone back today but i don't know if i should have her stay with that htc or go toward the xperia that she was eye-ing up. sorry for the 5 page story
I received the phone yesterday, turned on and everything seems to be working fine until I noticed a vertical yellow line on the right of the phone, at first I thought it was something on the screen that has to be cleaned up, but no, its something inside the screen, have anybody had the same problem? what do you guys think it is? ... I dont wanna returned the phone and wait 30 days like they said to process everything :O ...
Are you talking about screen bleed or is this a physical yellow line? If you're saying it's a physical yellow line then I've never heard of that problem before so I think you probably just got a defective unit. Where did you buy the phone from? It shouldn't take 30 days to exchange your phone.

I had a similar issue with my phone. It was a vertical line on the right side. It was like a line of pixels that stood out more over different colors.
I just called customer service and they sent another phone. It took maybe 4 or 5 days for the phone to arrive.
Hi,
I recently had to send my phone off because i dropped it and smashed the screen and i received it back from the insurance company last week. I could tell straightaway that the screen was nowhere near as good as the previous one, it's got a slight yellow tinge to it. Last night i noticed i had a dead pixel so i instantly downloaded Dead Pixel Test from the market to see if i could revive it....no luck. Now, i have looked at it again to see if i really want to go without it again for 2 weeks and i have 5 dead pixels! 5 dead pixels in one week!
Would you send it back if you was me?
They are not really noticeable but it's just knowing they are there that is doing my head in.
I wont have to pay the excess again because the insurance job on it has a warranty.
Cheers,
send it back dude
itll be tough two weeks but they will be all you can see every time u look at phone and u be constantly checking for new ones
will do ur head in eventually
short term pain....long term gain.
fix dead pixels
Go into the market and look for an app called pixel fixer. Once downloaded wait till you go to sleep and make sure your phone is plugged in and that your screen will always stay on. Once you have done so start the app and you should know what to do. Tested and works on my sensation, droid X, and Droid Bionic
Hey, I have owned my nexus 5 for over 9 months now and i have never had any problems except yesterday i noticed my screen got really blurry and bad so i restarted it and the problem stayed. So the problem is that there are white vertical lines wherever there is supposed to be any white shown on the screen. i have attached a few pics for it to be more clear. is this a defect or could it be cuz i might have dropped the phone. If i send it back to google and it isn't a defect they are going to charge me for the new phone which i cant really afford atm. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks
RMA it, if factory reset doesnt work you will have to get it replaced.
