Helppppp! My phones screens colors are faded/ inverted... - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

My phone isnt broken, it still operates but my screens colors are gone... id hope there is something i can do other than a warranty exchange because i have hard spl'ed my phone and this is just a huge mess! =( please help! I didnt drop it in water or drop it at all, it was in my pocket, i took it out... and now everything looks faded and washed out =( it slowly looks like its coming back, but i dont think itll ever be the same =(

I'm no expert, take out the battery and SIM card..blow on the phone, go to McDonalds, grab a 5 piece Nugget and some BBQ sauce...eat the McNuggets and then put the battery back in along with the SIM...charge the battery to 100% and turn it on and see what happens.

Sounds like an LCD issue. Can you post a picture? Unfortunately, every white screen washout I've seen has ended with a return.
See this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332236
Out of the three, two needed to be replaced. There may be some hope with removing the battery though, but the guy that had the luck left it out over a whole vacation.

It's better to return if still under warranty
I have similar problem with HTC 8125... i know you have a Tilt. my suggestion is to return it if it's under warranty. you can reverse back to the original settings. just check out other posts.

same problem
has anyone figured out how to solve this problem? i have the same issue with my htc tilt. however, the screen toggles between the "washed out" screen and the normal beautiful screen. i have dismantled the device several times using Mike's instructions, but i cant figure out which connectors are out of place please please help me out. i can't afford another screen/phone right now

ohh sucks..yeah i got my 8125 off ebay and it crapped out on me like 4months later....tried to replaced screen and nothing...
i guess your only option would be to try and get a new screen or something

Washed out screen
I got the same problem took it to AT&T and replaced it. But what worries me now is that I have changed my mobile 3 times already and this is the fourth one. Every time it was a different issue. I wonder once I run out of warranty, which happens towards the end of this year then what? I wish there is some other option of extended warranty or anything that can be taken now.

Fix the screen. Here is directions on how to accomplish that: http://www.mindsofwisemen.com/fileso/other/ReplacingTheLCDonaKaiser.pdf

Help please, what are these horizontal black lines?

They only just appeared today, randomly when I took my phone out of my pocket. I've restarted the phone to no avail, and am panicking because I dont know where to begin..can anyone diagnose my problem?
Looks like dead pixels, but the image isn't really clear enough.
Take a screenshot with some app.
If you see that in the screenshot, then reflash your firmware & ROM or flash an RUU.
If you don't see it in the screenshot, then it's a hardware problem.
Thanks, I took a screenshot and it's not a part of it. The lines keep getting bigger and bigger!
Sounds like it needs to go for repair. Is it under warente? Best of luck to you!

I too have this issue. It was present from the moment I powered the unit on. I continued with the setup to see if I could adjust the screen or maybe an update might fix it. But sadly no dice. I'm calling Google tonight to see if they can send me another unit or repair this one.
Had the same problem earlier, when i dropped the phone accidentally.
Observation: It gets darker and grows when the phone heats up, and lighter (almost cyan blue) when the phone cools down for a significant period of time with the screen off.
i had to keep the phone near an air conditioner vent for a few hours with the phone turned off for it to disappear.
once the lines disappear completely they dont return back, unless if you drop them again (which is what i did a few days back again.. and the stupid lines are back )
If you have any other ways in which you can get it resolved pls share with us.
Cheers,
Alan

Phone keeps turning itself off. Has anyone else experienced this?

I lock my phone and about 10 mins later I go to unlock it and the phone powers up meaning that it has been turned off. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the charge of the battery but it keeps doing this. The other week the phone wouldn't respond for about 5 hours I would touch it and the touch screen was completely dead. I locked the phone and then the screen went black and the touch buttons at the bottom lit up and that was it the phone crashed so I needed to restart it and it just wouldn't work. 5 hours later when I woke up it responded and Bare in mind I ran about 5 ruus to get the phone back to stock so it wasn't a software problem. So has anyone else experienced one of these problems. The random shutdown is my issue at the moment. I'm considering returning it for repair because isn't it true that htc have a 2 year warranty in the uk?
Sounds daft but I'd put a piece of folded paper on top of the battery to ensure it has perfect contact and isn't able to move at all.....I have heard of others who have experienced this issue.
I would also see if you could get another battery for a short time and try that just to rule out that it is an issue with the battery.

Doesn't sound daft it's a great Idea. I have blu-tack on the slide off cover at the bottom to keep it from jiggling as one of the plastic clips broke. I will probably test another battery because they aren't exactly expensive. Do you know anything about HTC's warranty int he uk ben_pyett? Thanks for the help

I have heard multiple users that they simply rang HTC up, complained that battery didn't work and got a new one sent out.....so try that....and attempt if possible to hang on to old one, as if it turns out to be device, you get a free battery
Same issue for me, it drove me nuts. Turned out to be a faulty battery when sent off to HTC/Vodafone for repair. They replaced it so I wonder if it's a known issue.

This.
My phone used to shut down randomly and I searched and found out that it is due to the bad design of battery placement in this phone. All I had to do was put a small piece of paper and it has never shutdown till then.
I'm definitely going to try this, I've been getting lots of resets and I'm relieved it's not a rom issue
edit: how many times did you guys fold the paper over?

i had issues with my phone turning off too, had it slightly wet at one point so i took it to a phone repair joint, they replaced a few things charged me and it had the same problems afterwards, a test battery proved it was the bloody battery all along!
the tech there let me know our batteries have a soft edge that when pushed up hard against the battery slot it slightly deforms, seems like a bad design if you look at the battery up close you can see one where the edges get pushed in a bit, (well on mine anyway) the test battery i borrowed didn't have the edges pushed in.
Had this problem too. Paper did the trick.

Screen freezes - Hardware issue

Hi all
I swear this is some voodoo stuff going on with my phone. I replaced the lcd by myself about half a year ago and it was working fine until last week, but I assume this has something to do with it.
Thing is, the screen freezes whenever I'm not pressing its bottom down. Like I can get it running and do whatever I want while squeezing the bottom of the screen (just below the softkeys) and the back of the phone together but as soon as I let go, the screen freezes and I have to take the battery out. Don't ask how I figured it out. The softkeys still vibrate when I press them but I have no idea if the phone is still running fine or if it's actually the system which freezes. The former would make more sense to me though.
I also had the touchscreen issue which I didn't ever get around but I don't think it has anything to do with this.
I have opened that sucker up and taken a gander, I assume some connector is loose or something is grounded poorly but I couldn't see anything. I appreciate any kind of help.
Thank you.
Try to remove the LCD and fix it againg with proper guidance

Yeah well, the lcd has only one connector and it is properly attached. Could anything else go wrong with it? I will fix it again if I know it could help somehow but it was a real pain and I don't want to screw anything without a reason.
And that is the same link as in my post but thanks anyway. I was just mentioning it in case it could be related, I don't really care about it any longer.

[Q] I Screwed Something Up

A friend of mine had a Galaxy S3 Amber with a broken (and blank) screen and wanted her data from it's internal memory that is locked and not in debugged mode. I did a lot of research and found the best, most efficient way was to do a motherboard swap with another gs3. I had a Galaxy S3 Blue. I watched a couple of videos and it seemed rather easy. I gathered the proper tools and was EXTREMELY careful not to break or rip anything (and to my knowledge i did not). When i put her motherboard from the amber one into the blue one and the screen would not come on. My first thoughts were it must be her motherboard that went bad. Well when i went to put my blue gs3 back together (again being very careful this entire time) I'm now having the same issue as she was. Black screen, no back light. The bottom lights DO come on and i feel it vibrate when i get a message. There was also no power on chime...
I know its hard to tell with out looking but any ideas on what could be wrong or what i might have screwed up? i checked all the connections and everything looks perfect. Nothing is bent or connected wrong and I didn't force or break anything.
update: so i found that the touch part of it still works fine. i can hear the ripple unlock as well as all the other sounds and such when i touch around and i can here it opening apps. the only issue lies in the screen itself being blank with no back light what so ever,
First of all remove the battery and attempt to power on, then leave without battery for 1 min, I know this sounds silly but it worked on an old iPhone 3G so anythings worth a shot.
If that doesn't work go back into the S3 and make sure all the data clips are firmly in place and locked down but not twisted in anyway. Also make sure their is no moisture or dust on the ribbons. You may not realise it but even the smallest imperfection with this can cause massive issues down the line.
If all else fails her phone may have broke your screen, I don't know how but it is a possibility
Hope I could help and good luck

so i took it apart again today to double check and clean everything and under inspection i noticed a teeny tiny slit on the edge of the lower, bigger ribbon. i know the smallest bit could be horrid. Any fix and would that cause just the screen to not show? i don't know if that is the led connection but i think it may be.

If theirs a slit I'm affraid that could be it for the screen, like I said even the smallest imperfection can cause massive issues. The slit is probably in the one of the data sections of the ribbon cable which is why data for the screen isn't being carried.
For the fix I don't think their is one unless you can fit a new ribbon on to yout S3's screen
Sorry about the screen
So I took it all apart again. Cleaned ever little thing I could and now it works again. ?

[Q] white vertical lines

Hey, I have owned my nexus 5 for over 9 months now and i have never had any problems except yesterday i noticed my screen got really blurry and bad so i restarted it and the problem stayed. So the problem is that there are white vertical lines wherever there is supposed to be any white shown on the screen. i have attached a few pics for it to be more clear. is this a defect or could it be cuz i might have dropped the phone. If i send it back to google and it isn't a defect they are going to charge me for the new phone which i cant really afford atm. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks
RMA it, if factory reset doesnt work you will have to get it replaced.
