[Q] How do I send a mail from a different adres than the receiving adres? - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hello,
I've set-up my hotmail account at my phone and I'm stuck with something.
When using my hotmail with my browser, it will send the mail from a different adres than my regular hotmail adres. (from my own domain) However, when I send an e-mail from my phone, it will always send my mail from my hotmail adres.
So is there a way to configure my account on my phone so it will continue to receive the mail from my hotmail adres, but will send my mail from my personal adres?
Cheers,
Zyt

again, we need more info or you should ask you admin / provider. you need to know if you are using ssl or not, you need to know your pop3/imap/smtp server address.
if you are able to access internet on your phone, then this is not related to T-mobile (if you don't have emails from them) or any network provider...
This are the settings used for configuring YAHOO mail manually....maybe these will help you see where you are going wrong:
For Yahoo.com
Incoming mail server (POP3): plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
For Yahoo.co.uk
Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk (Use SSL, port: 995)
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk (Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication)
Many thanks

[Q] HTC Sensation Email app - Push emails?

Hi,
i just noticed that the default HTC Email app on the sensation, in all its awesomeness, doesn't push emails to my device. it refreshes every 5 minutes or so.
is there any way to push emails ?
Im using a gmail account.
thanks
Turn your google mail sync off then back on again, and ensure your sync is always running, that is as best push you will get.
Pushmail doesn't work on WIFi for me with the stock apps.
I use Advanced Email. Very good app and you can also access folders which i have set up on hotmail

Where can I get this? You mentioned it once in one of my threads, and I've been trying to get it, but it's not on the market and Google didn't help me either.
so there is no way to get push emails on the default HTC app?
SOLVED.
I created a microsoft Exchange account with my gmail address and now emails are pushed!
thanks
You can also get hotmail emails pushed What you do is create a new Exchange/Active sync account. put in your hotmail address and password and click manual set up. Then in the username field make sure it's your full email address. in the server field type m.hotmail.com (even if it's a @live account) and you will be able to get your hotmail pushed. My school uses live mail for it's student mail and I get push email for that as well using the same method.
for yahoo there is a yahoo mail app that pushes your yahoo mail just like the gmail app.
Sorry mate its Enhanced Email, stupid predictive text

[Q] Stock Email App - GoDaddy email issue help

So a friend has a stock Samsung Galaxy 2 on T-Mobile and and is using the stock email app to get her biz email from her website provider GoDaddy. I believe she has the latest OTA 4.4.2 installed.
She cannot get (receive only) email sent to this biz email account, she can send OK and sends and receives fine on the 3 other different email accounts (Gmail, Live Mail and ?, POP3 & IMAP) set up in the app.
She's been back and forth between the customer reps at T-Mobile and GoDaddy, each one helpfully pointing the finger at the other.
I somehow got volunteered to help (as have you now, TIA:fingers-crossed and I have discovered that this is a duplicatable problem.
I am able to recreate this on my phone with both a GoDaddy POP & IMAP email account.
I have a rooted Samsung SPH-L710 with Wicked-X 7.3 on Boost Mobile and today I re-tasked one of my GoDady junk mail accounts to the stock Email app (the one that comes in the ROM) and sure enough I can send fine but cannot receive an email on the phone through that account.
Added the K-9 Mail app to my phone and set up the account as POP3, everything works fine.
The issue seems to be how the stock Email app plays with GoDaddy email.
Any thoughts on why? Or how to fix?
