Hex editor like any other saved game. Dungeon Hunter you can directly modify your gold and experience, as far as I can tell you can't directly change anything else. I fiddled with it for a while the first time I played it.
As for both, you search the savegame file like any other binary file. If you have 4312 gold, search for d810 in hex, which is of course little endian. ie: The hex pairs are backwards.. 4312 decimal = 10d8 in hex, so you have to search for d810
Same for experience. Just make it larger than your required experience at the end of each quest and next time you gain experience you'll gain a level. If you really want to level up, you can go back and forth between levels and modify each time.
Back up your files, it's easy to screw up.

I took the liberty of uploading the game to our ftpsite, since it's slow as molasses to download from the official site:
EDIT: The file was moved to another folder on FTP. the link is now corrected.
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Software/deathdrive_hires.rar.
There are a few threads around the net about the game, but look like most of them are just copy-and-paste of each other. One link to a review:
http://forum.brighthand.com/showthread.php?t=231439
In short, it's a free game with very nice graphics, especially considering it's free. the 2D graphics are superb.
THE GOAL: win the race. and shoot the other cars. or drop mines on the others behind you. And you have missiles which have awesome firepower to lay waste to the other racers. And MANY upgrades. You can buy new cars, engines, tires, machine guns...
You have these permanent upgrades:
5 different cars
6 engines
5 tires
6 guns (machine guns or artillery)
5 bumpers (do damage on contact)
And expendable weapons:
5 different missiles
5 different mines
There are 4 batteries of races to finish the game, but you can re-run races you have already won for extra cash (the prize diminishes every time you re-run a race though).1st battery is a single race, 2nd battery is 4 races, 3rd battery is 8 races, and the last battery has 6 races.
19 tracks! not bad for a free game.
INSTALLATION: There is no installation! just copy the files over to the device and run the .exe. Maybe the xda folks could do something about it?
COMPATIBILITY:
Should work on any 2003SE and WM5 devices, but there is some feedback claiming problems on Samsung S3C 400MHz cpus (like TyTN).
IT WOULD BE VERY GOOD IF XDA DWELLERS CAN POST FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE ON COMPATIBILITY.
Especially:
TyTN/Samsung CPU device owners
Wizard/Artemis/TI 850 device owners, on vanilla speeds (200MHz) and overclocked (240MHz). Please report how playable it is, and if turning off sounds and visuals (car mirror) is actually needed for a good gaming experience.
i will try look a good game...
Fun game and works flawlessly on my Wizard running 2.26 Rom and overclocked to 240 Mhz
Graphics and sound enabled it works fine on the Artemis, bit difficult to control with the roller wheel (as expected) - otherwise not bad, killed four oposition on the first two laps! - No overclocking running stock 201MHz loaded on the TF card - Mike
even does not start on my htc tytn
no problem with my artemis without OC just 201mhz i must get used to roller wheel great graphics
I managed to run it fine on a stock standard iMate Kjam with no overclocking BUT the game does not go into the next level even after winning the first race so I removed it.

I am also having this same problem. I blow up every car and still no progress, I can buy additional weapons and use them in that same level, just not go to the next. Strange...
UPDATE (11/17/2006): Jim Karpen’s related article may also be of interest.
Many users have reported (see for example this, this, this and this) it wouldn’t switch to next tracks in Tournament mode and/or wouldn’t add money to the account.
Some people (see for example this) say you must install it to the main memory to fix this problem.
I’ve thoroughly tested the tournament mode on my x51v in three cases (game copied to the root of the built-in storage of the device, the root of the SD card and a subdirectory on the card); all three worked OK with me.
However, if you do encounter problems like the above, try copying the game to the main storage of your PPC to see whether it helps.
I've tried... works fine for me.

Be ready for Nintendo to slap this with a cease and desist. They are notorious for killing fan-made Pokemon projects.
I just downloaded it, but I installed it simply with an filemanager without rebooting.
It works fine on my Samsung Galaxy S I9000, keep on working
I tried it on my MyTouch 3G loads fine however it seems my phone dont work with it well. I only see part of the screen, nice work though.
Nice game app & works fine on N1. Good Job!
Downloading, will report back
Works fine on Droid Incredible. Needs to be more interaction though. Looks like a good start.

Galaxy S Captivate running cognition
Just want to say, it's spelled "Vine whip"
Just installed on my SGS, seems like everythings working.
Thoughts:
1) As stated above its spelled "Vine Whip" not "vine wipe"
2) The layout is hideous. I mean your Pokemon's HP and your pokemon should be on the left side VS the opponent's stats and opponents picture on the right. Right now its too cluttered and confusing.
3) "YOU WON and Dou you want to continue" - self explanatory
4) All moves names should be in capital or first letter in capitol
5) Game has no icon/picture (when installed you just have the vanilla android box and "Pokemon" written beneath)
6) Quite plain/boring ... there is nothing going for it at the moment
7) I have some ideas on how to make this very cool, stay tuned for my reply
very nice concept, but watch out for copyright infringements!

Also, while it did run on my Hero, it did start off slow and with a FC message, but I told it to wait. Obv because the Hero is not WVGA (at least I don't think it is) the display was cropped in very odd ways. I had about 1/2 of the Tackle command. Anyway.
Especially since you are using licensed images, Nintendo is going to tell you to stop. My suggestion? Keep trying to do what you're doing, but change the names and pictures. Draw stick figures if you have to. Rename Squirtle to Squortle or something. Call it Pokepon. Better though to change course now while you don't have much and you haven't been C&D'd yet.
Good luck
I dont own an android device but isnt there a gba emulator? and wouldn't it be better playing it on that?
Thanks, gonna try this on my Evo!
Nice!
Not as interactive as I thought, but it's headed in the right direction.

Yeah you should take that advice.
1) Change the name to PockeMon
2) Keep the pokemons' names original (Squirtle, Bulbasaur etc) ... Nintendo cannot do anything about this
3) Change the pictures of every pokemon to fan made ones (obviously Nintendo cannot own fan made illustrations or intellectual property) and you can find heaps on the internet just Google for it.
4) Now that we've established this, also do not use anything Nintendo owns (you can find alternatives on the internet) ... with these modifications you wont get a C&D warning.
5) Food for thought; if this is all that your game is going to do it will be a let down. You can scrap the project OR go ahead with just these gameplay = dissapointment OR expand!
6) Expand to make your game an action-strategy Pockemon game!
How?
Make it a 2.5D game based on an isometric view.
+The player controls the movement of the animal/monster with the Trackball/keyboard(GameGripper)
+The player has 4 available moves that are on-screen buttons
+1 button is to evade attacks; jump OR fly (birds) OR dig (certain pockemons like diglet)
+3 buttons are customizable for attacks (eg tackle, ember, sandattack)
+There is a stamina bar (instead of attack limits) and each attack costs differed stamina from your bar but your bar slowly increases when used
+Hitting the trackball/defined key pauses the arena and goes into your inventory where you can choose (Change Pet, Rations, Retreat match)
And what you have is a strategic game that forces you (action) to control your pet, which gives the game a totally different experience from Pokemon games (Red, Blue, Silver etc) but one that is also quite fun!
To illustrate what I mean have a look at this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qumqqJfIJzI @6:30
....now imagine that type of graphics (ie sprites) on an isometric-scroller view instead of side-scroller
eg/ like this but doesn't have to be fancy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssbty-EWrGY&feature=related
but more like this in a 2.5D sprite (so it would run smoothly on most devices) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzR9llkD_bg&feature=related @4:40
Such an App would be sweet especially if you have a Nexus One (trackball), GameGripper device, or the HTC Dream (trackball and keys)
And if anyone is interested, such a Pockemon arena game could be expanded further
How?
1) Let the each Action button glow depending if your pet has enough stamina for that move (hence why the evade/jump button will always be lit)
2) Allow an "arcade mode" where you battle enemies that constantly come unto your screen (eg like the SNES Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle game)
3) Allow the player to win money (to buy new pets/rations from the PockeStore) and win experience points and show off your pet within the App
4) Allow a multiplayer mode where you battle against people that are online (your friend/strangers) via 3G/wifi
And expand further?
1) Now make this game into an RPG like the originals but using the isometric-view (eg like the PSX Digimon game) and add in all the elements from the original.
2) Include "Pockeballs" in the PockeStore
3) Include accessories in the PockeStore (ie armour, weapons, customisations etc)
And a way to "go beyond"
1) Open up the "Trading Post" where you can put your stuff/pets for sale... and conversely browse and buy stuff/pets from other members that made a listing.
2) Link the entire game to Facebook so that your achievements are loaded on your Wall, add your Friends, gift money/stuff/pets to other members, view your Friends pets and achievements (but not their stuff), Send "Challenges" where you define a time where you both must be online and battle (hard to explain in words)
3) Constantly increase the PockeWorld by adding new places to go/dominate, new Pets to catch and buy, new stuff to buy ... but still keeping everything simple
4) Never allow other players to be in the PockeWorld (ie all other MMORFs/RPG's like WoW). Keep it a fun (but long) Singleplayer game with a Multiplayer ability that is quite complimentary. So this would keep things less like other RPG's and more fun (compared to them) but also stupidly simple that anyone can play eg/ Granparent vs Granchild = fight!
... this would be like FarmVille for Android only better XD
And there is nothing to do beyond this
I know there's another thread going on right now about the FPSE compatibility, but I just thought that a Wiki page would be that much more helpful and easy to navigate compared to a thread. I'm going to start taking the compatibility list from there and slowly migrating it over to the Wiki for ease of use and so anyone can edit it.
http://xplayfpse.wikkii.com/wiki/Main_Page#Legend
Edit:
The initial stage of the project is now complete. The next part is for everyone to add and update compatibility as they find out new things. I'll be monitoring the page, and I've sent arcticmedia (the creator of the original thread) a request to help me admin as well. I'll be looking for spam, general mistakes, spelling mistakes etc. If you don't feel comfortable editing the wiki yourself, post your findings about the game here and either myself or someone else will add it to the wiki.
If you don't know how to use a Wikipedia editor, here's the general process:
1) Find the section (letter of the alphabet) you wish to edit and click the 'edit' button.
2) The Wikipedia code editor will pop up. The general layout of the code for each game is like this:
<tr>
<td>Game Name</td>
<td>PSX ID</td>
<td>Region</td>
<td>Compatibility</td>
<td>Extra notes or comments</td>
</tr>
Click to collapse
Each line there corresponds to the respectively named columns in the table. If for example I wanted to change the game called Alundra from 'Perfect' to 'Unplayable' because it has freezing issues, my code would look like this:
From:
<tr>
<td>Alundra</td>
<td>SLUS-00553</td>
<td>NTSC-U</td>
<td>Perfect</td>
<td></td>
</tr>
Click to collapse
To:
<tr>
<td>Alundra</td>
<td>SLUS-00553</td>
<td>NTSC-U</td>
<td>Uplayable</td>
<td>Has freezing issues.</td>
</tr>
Click to collapse
All very simple, but make sure to not delete any extra brackets, slashes, etc. Also, all 5 lines in the middle need to be there. If you have nothing to put into the 'notes' category, leave it blank as <td></td>.
3) Adding a new game:
To add a brand new game, instead of editing the block of code above, simply copy/paste it and change all the information. If I want to add a game called 'Soul Reaver' that has perfect compatibility, I would add something like this:
From:
<tr>
<td>Soul Reaver</td>
<td>PSX ID</td>
<td>NTSC-U</td>
<td>Perfect</td>
<td></td>
</tr>
Click to collapse
Try to keep them in alphabetical order of course by adding them in between the proper two games in the code. I'll try to maintain that myself as well.

Yep, I actually shamelessly ripped the layout off there . Thing is, that's more of a software version list. The PSP 3.71 firmware (I think) was virtually 100% compatible with the PSX.
Someone add theme hospital. Does not work. Stuck at Ea/bullfrog splash screen.
Tried different roms and settings. no luck
Hi,
Need some advice getting MGS to work?
I get no sound then a black screen after the main menu.
Changed the sound setting and rebooted but still the same.
These are the games I tried:
Libero Grand International - Playable.
Ridge Racer 4 - Playable.
Theme Hospital - Unplayable. (freeze at Bullfrog screen).
Tekken 2 - Playable
Wipeout - Playable
X-COM UFO Defence - Playable.
I say playable but there are sound issues on all games as well as minor frame issues. It is nowhere near the likes of the PSPs PSX emulation in terms of speed, quality or compatability...yet!
Though must stress, only had quick goes at each, played nothing to completion yet!
Bushido blade = perfect
Klonoa = playable
Jackie Chan's stuntmaster = perfect
Parappa the Rapper = perfect
Street fighter ex 2 plus = perfect
Tomba = perfect (GTE on MDEC on frameskip 50fps limiter on)
Ive tried about 5 different iso's for Road Rash 3d.
Every single one of them freezes on the movie at the start of the game.
Any advice?

Hello xda members, this is my first post ever on this website, so if its wrong at all please let me know.
I am wondering if anyone knows how to hack the game Baseball Superstars 2012.
Ive tried using gamecih to hack the g-points but the lowest results i get for the g-point value after searching for it, changing it, and then repeating process is 25. When i do it again, it says 0 values found. I looked for a hack for the other baseball superstar games, baseball superstars 2 and baseball superstars 2011, and nonone was able to find one except a game save in korean language with max g points. I tried looking for the save in the data/data/ but couldnt find anything at all. I hope someone knows how to point me in the right direction, thanks for any help
Baseball superstars 2 g point hack
you can definitely edit g points with gamecih in baseball superstars 2.
the trick is to buy the g point items with the negative sum, you know.. minus a minus equals a plus?
look into the attachment
Baseball superstars 2012 hack
The principle is the same.....
when i had the korean apk(the first release) i could hack into it
but the file isn't available... blocked i guess..
the free version of baseball superstars 2012 from android market
works till the "changing the value" stage
but it is blocked in such a way that whenever i change the value
the damn thing quits on me!
i thought since the game requires internet connection, the game will quit
upon doing funny stuff on it,
but even when i got hold of offline apk(workable with airplane mode)
it still doesn't work..
i guess gamevil is getting smart...
P.S
i did quite a lot of research and i guess it has something to do with
the .xml files in the data folder....
data/data/com.gamevil.bb2012.global
and
dbdata/databases/com.gamevil.bb2012.global
the files there are so encrypted i don't get a thing...
hope someone capable will hack into them soon
same here, been looking on how to do it and gamecih 3.0 gets detected by this game now :-(

Gameguardian usually isn't detected, and if GameCIH doesn't work I usually opt for that. Otherwise I pull my game saves out of the /data/data folder (They're almost always in shared_prefs) and use a hex editor the dirty way. There may be multiple values or files to check, and oftentimes the displayed number is different from the actual value. It may display 20, but in reality the value could be stored as 20x8, this is common to prevent easy memory hacking. Try starting from an unknown value, and using instead of new values or +/- use the ! and the = sign to eventually narrow it down. Hope you have good luck with it Havn't found an unhackable android game yet (Aside from the MMO's, which I still managed to get hp hacks on most of.)

Hope you have good luck with it Havn't found an unhackable android game yet (Aside from the MMO's, which I still managed to get hp hacks on most of.)

I have an old offline game that's discontinued that I still play. I use another app called Game Guardian that can search codes like float, word, d-word, byte format but some can't be changed permanently (have to change the float values everytime i open the game).
I just discovered someone actually managed to do it but they're not teaching how they did it and the float values they changed are different from what I want to change but the know how seems to be the same logic.
It involves replacing/editing/adding (i think they replaced/added because this guy isn't a programmer so editing is not likely) the library files (.so files) inside the apk
Can anyone teach me how to do this?
