[Q] CrystalView e-pad, Upgradable to 2.x? - General Questions and Answers

Got a Crystalview e-pad for Xmas and I searched all over and can't find any word on this device.
I would like to push this to 2.1/2.2 if possible from 1.9, but can't find anything on device. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get this to a decent OS?
Thanks

Hi,
I have Gingerbread on mine (done by manufacturer), but I haven't been able to find a working ClockWork Recovery image for it, once I do I can backup Gingerbread with Nandroid from it and post it somewhere.

Have you tried software upgrade under settings?

Help with Coby Kyros Internet Tablet MID 7005-4G

I am currently unable to boot my tablet. I had been trying some modifications designed for other tablets, and it messed up my tablet something good. What I need most of all is the framework.jar file located within the /system/framework folder on the tablet device. I have tried the framework.jar file from a Coby Kyros MID 7015 model tablet, but that does not seem to work for this tablet.
If you would like to help an need instructions, please reply and I will give you any instructions you need. Thanks to anyone willing to assist.

Here you go from my mid7005 I just got

Hello,
I am wondering if you could help me out if you have any idea how to fix my coby kryos 7005. I reset my tablet due to instructions given by cobyusa.com because of my appslib not working so they suggested to reset the device. I did what they said and after I reset it the device wont boot anymore and just stuck in Coby logo and turns off after 2min. I downloaded the update.zip from cobyusa.com and placed it on my sdcard and apply the update by pushing the power button and the home softkey at the same time and I did the procedure. After the update I restarted the device and still the same thing stuck in Coby logo. Any help will appreciate it. Thank you in advance.
Thanks for the help, infinityhombre. Unfortunately, I've went ahead with ANOTHER attempted update and I think I've completely bricked it this time. Before, the adb commands would work and the computer would recognize it, but not anymore. Now when I plug it in the computer asks for a driver and I can't find one that works. I can't even boot into recovery anymore. I've heard that FWDN (or was it PWDN?) was the software I needed and that it should have the driver I require, but I can't seem to find the software. Does anyone know of a download link for it?
coldjava, if I could help you, I would. I have yet to do any recovery or update that has actually worked at all.
If you accidentally used the mid7015 update.zip, you will probably have to ask coby to send you a full copy of the stock rom to fix it. Good luck with that.
Well, a 64 bit driver to use with the FWDN flashing software would help too.
Huzzah! I had found a download for a 64 bit version of the FWDN driver, and I was able to get my tablet flashed with a working OS. I found the driver on slatedroid, and I would include a direct download for it, but this message board won't let me post it. You just need to do a search for 'vtcdrv for x64 windows' on that message board if you need to find it. Everything else you need for it is included with the download for the rom for it.
could you point me in the direction of the rom you used...I'v found lots for the x5a just looking for one that is confirmed to work with coby 7005, does the rom include root and google market?
I am looking for the Coby 7005 rom also.. I'm also trying to figure out specifically which files need to be flashed for it. Does anyone have a screenshot?
I've given up looking, I have root, clockwork recovery, and market and feel more comfortable in the android environment now

I just bought one of these tablets for really cheap on ebay. The previous owner lost the password to it and I just planned on doing a factory reset on it. Unfortunately, the only support I can find from Coby is for the 7015, leaving the 7005 owners high and dry. If I could get a copy of the stock firmware, even just a dump directly from someone else's working 7005 that would be great. I bought this tablet specifically for my kids, so I just need to be able to run Angry Birds and watch movies on it.
Yes, the X5A-G works
Hey, I just got one of these (the 7005) which I will be returning to the seller since the battery doesn't charge but I can confirm that the CWM recovery image for the X5A-G does in fact work, as does the X5A-G Cyanogenmod ROM. No, by default it does not have the market, but grabbing the GAPPS zip from the cyanogenmod github (or practically anywhere else on this forum) will in fact install the market.

[Q] Nook Color Help

I bought a Nook Color hopping that I could use a custom rom to make it fit me. Well at this point all I need to know is how to get it back to factory settings so that I can return it. I've spent hours trying to find the information I need and I can't. I've tried all the files I could find and tried all the recommendations I could read. Please, all I need is a step by step on returning it to factory settings.
I rooted with "autonooter" then installed "Customized Nookie Froyo 0.6.8 CWR for eMMC Update". I think I got rid of the rom (Customized Nookie Froyo 0.6.8 CWR for eMMC Update). But then there's "ClockworkMod Recovery 3.0.0.6" that I can't get to seem to uninstall.
Update....
If anyone else runs into this go here and download the file appropriate for your device. If you figured out how to get as far as I did, then this should be a quick and easy fix, just be aware that the download takes a while unless you want to pay to download it...

I am basically looking to find the following answer:
1. is there a default version of Andriod that can be installed on any device, and if yes, where can I find it.
2. Is it possible to upgrade the tablet manually to a newer version of Andriod, without the manufacture suppot. I am OK to loose any data stored on it.

[Q] Ployer Momo8 Tablet

hi all. i just purchased a Ployer Momo8 tablet and it came with Android 4.0 and ICS. i really like the tablet, especially for the extremely low price of $150. my question is, does anyone know of any custom ROMS for this tablet, because it needs serious optimization. especially considering that i have an rooted EVO running a Team Nocturnal ROM fully loaded, so my EVO runs circles around this tablet. i've searched google for custom ROMS for this tablet, but come up with nothing, especially for the 4.0.
Thanks all.
I have this tablet, really nice tablet. A lot of us have downgraded back to 2.3.4 everything seems to work on gingerbread.
I haven't seen any roms, I did put together a recovery for 2.3.4 version. Momo9 seems to have a lot going for it, that's an 7" version of this tablet.
Anyway good luck

how do i downgrade to 2.3? does anyone have the stuff necessary to perform the downgrade with some instruction? i've never downgraded before, only upgraded. i'm sick and tired of the force closes on 4.0.
Here is a custom rom, I made a few changes to it so it can be installed on momo8 via my recovery.
http://bit.ly/ykpLXn
Before you install make sure you back up your data and system via my recovery.
once they are backed up place this zip in the zip folder on your sdcard.
if you created directories you should find on your sdcard a folder called momo8, inside that folder are three more folders. backup, updates, zip
this goes in zip folder.
you need to go to advanced options select wipe system, then you can install zip you would need to press home to go back to main screen from there choice install zip follow onscreen instructions. as with backing up wait a bit after zip is installed before pressing home to go to main screen.
If you want to wipe your data, you can do that as well, you would need to wipe data first before wiping system or come back after you installed zip then wipe data.
the custom rom came from this thread.

issues with tablet
First off, I just bought this thing and it is PAINFULLY slow. After doing some research, I have decided I want to downgrade it to 2.3.4 however, I believe that a lot of folks posting tutorials do not use english as their first language. That said, I downloaded this phoenixprousb, which is definately not in english, and it requires an img and a key. I managed to find a fresh IMG, but no one seems to mention anything about a key.
Does anyone know anything about what they mean by .key and is there an easier better way to do this? The only tutorial I can find requires a .key which they dont include.

Try flashing a clean original 2.3.4. from Ployer site. Use google translator to find download section and type MOMO8A to find the right firmware. It works perfectly on my tab.
Hi guys, i haven't found any MOMO8 theards, so I have to ask here.
I have flashed firmware for LY-F1,but now I can't flash MOMO8 firmware back.
I have tried LiveSuit, all the Phoenix tools but no luck.

clockwork recovery for mid7014

Ok so I rooted my friends coby kyros mid7014 and have spent the last 2 hours scouring the web looking for a Clockwork Recovery and Custom ROM for this tablet. Sorry it's here I can't post in the development section. I haven't had enough posts because I usually search until I find an answer because there's usually a solution somewhere. I would assume this has been asked before and someone has tried to figure this out but I can't find an answer for the life of me...
Thanks in advance!
And your question is...?
For custom ROMs for your tablet go to Google and look for: Kyros Tablet Zone KTZ
That's a website specialized for all Coby Kyros tablets. You won't find custom ROMs for those tablets here.
Looking for nandroid restore files for 7014
I just messed up flashing a custom rom to my gf's mothers 7014. My backups aren't working so i was wondering if anyone had stock backup or restores i could have. I ended up trying to use nandroid img files from a 7012 and got the tablet to boot but I can't get the touch screen to work.
