Rotate RevLandscape are considered as valid rules.
So as of right now you cannot assign playing a sound when a certain app opens.

For using the seperate app profiles do the following:
1. Create App rule for the application you target
2. Select "Seperate Profile for App"
3. Save App rule
4. Select profile and edit
Options:

Start hidden
Stay On
Speed/Cache optimizer
GPS
GPS while power off
How to install:
You need to install .NET compact framework 3.5
Afterwards you can just copy the contents of the attached ZIP
onto your device.
Be aware of that many options only get active after you explicitly exit

Hey!
Nice app. I realy like the G-sensor functions.
Seems you can't control hard buttons. Been trying to add function to "Take call" button, but it doesn't work. Backspace doesn't work either.

Could you please define "Standby"?
Is it when you "turned off" the phone by the power button?
Or is it in case you turn of the screen, with MMs features.
Also could you let me know which tool you use to
check battery drainage?

by standby I meant the phone "turned off" by power button. I use Batlog to monitor battery consumption.
Now, with MM turned off I have between 6 an 30 mA.

No, GPS and WiFi turned off.
Maybe if someone else could test the application and give some feedback. It could be that there is just something incompatible with my ROM. I use Dexter Series (build from 15th december).

[APP] Modus Operandi v.0.5.2 for Android 2.x

hi xda!
My new android application, Modus Operandi, is online .
With Modus Operandi you can create Situation based on Condition and Action.
For example if you are at home, Modus Operandi can enable wifi for you automatically.
Or, if your battery charge is too lower you can reduce screen brightness.
Every 10 minutes and any time you open the main dashboard, Modus Operandi check all the enabled Situation and if any Condition inside will be verified, all actions will be executed.
It's free.
It's modular (core + plugins).
actually there are this plugin:
Wifi Action Plugin
Battery Condition Plugin
Screen Brightness Action Plugin
Time Condition Plugin
Geolocalization Condition Plugin (Now with configurable GPS or Network, radius and actionbar search)
Airplane Mode Action Plugin
GPS - Thanks Andrea Baccega (admin @androidiani.com)
Bluetooth - Thanks Andrea Baccega (admin @androidiani.com)
Mobile Data Connection
Audio Manager
Days of Week Conditional Plugin (New!)
Another plugin are in developing.
As soon as possible, I'll release documentation for the community.
In attach you can find eclipse template for plugin developers.
Enjoy!

Updated to v.0.3
I've added plugin eclipse template for developers.
If you need some help for plugin developing, send me a private message.
Thanks for your support !
Enjoy!
I like where this is going. Could give Tasker a run for its money if you can get some good developer support for plugins.
Only complaint: I like the simplicity of the UI, but it could use a little elegance in the design of the buttons, tabs, etc.
Does this have cell tower thing to locate position? Cause in this case, it saves more battery. Or is the geolocation using the same amount of battery?
Geolocalization plugin only use network based position, not gps: this save battery life, but your positon is not puntual. Only in a radius of 1.5km.

Yes, I can.
But if you use GPS, when MO check this condition... its important that GPS is always on .
I'll do that in a second step.
Thanks
Thanks for the tip! I don't mind the big radius if it saves battery. I'll be waiting for the mobile data and audio plugin before I could really start using this app. Btw what's your goal for creating this app? Just curious here. Hopefully you could implement switch to 2G network. It'll be a bonus!

Because I need it and I don't want do buy Locale for $9.90 or Tasker for $6.44.
So I've developed Modus Operandi and released it and template for developers that want to code plugins for it and absolutly for free.

You could have it so when you're in a certain area (based on cell towers) it turns the GPS on, and then it can track when you get to a more specific area for other actions.
With this app, can I do something like enable auto rotate when I open picture gallery or Google Maps or certain apps and disable auto rotate when they are closed?
It looks like there is no auto rotate setting now but will this be possible in the future?

for this setting, I need to do two plugin:
1) Condition: that return that is validate when start an app
and
2) Action: that enable/disable autorotate.
But more important... Modus Operandi must have a feature that now it's in develop: a conditional plugin (must) can call Modus Operandi when it's validate. Or Modus Operandi need to listen about app starting.
For do that a feature in MO core is needed and a plugin that do more work that now.
But, this is the way that MO need to be competitive.
So I will code this feature in the near future !
great app it could be great if control the sound for incoming calls, i had have an app that never worked, its app have a profiles that incoming at certain hour and end at other. but modus operandi could be best if include sound and vibrate controls
imagine if you set the church or movie thearer point for vibrating incoming calls and when you abandon that places the status changes to normal profile... its grate

Modus Operandi Audio Action Plugin is out on the Android Market!
Enjoy!
EDIT: some screenshot
Love the app, works great! A bluetooth toggle plugin would make this perfect.
A GPS Action would be handy, too! I turn Wifi on and GPS off and vice versa depending on location.
Location detection is only GPS based or we can have cell tower based locations as well ?
At this time, location plugin work only on cell based service, no gps ;-).

The whole app is done so it has a minimum impact on the battery life.
That being said, the app has three levels of cpu usage :
Max usage (about 2% ) When you activate scrolling .
Intermediate (about 1%) when you enable one of the options (Show widget by shaking - Activate scrolling by shaking)
Low (0%) when the server is started and the widget is shown but none of the above situations are valid.
Nice. Will test as soon as get home tonight and provide you with the feedback
Not working on Galaxy S4
This seems great, but it won't work on my GS4. I believe that the S4 is a multi-touch device but this app states that it's not supported. Any help or tips?
Unfortunately on my Samsung Tab 3 - 7" it is saying my device does not have multi-touch enabaled even though, as far as I know, it is a multi touch device. All other tests come up with green checks.

App efficiency
Well, the app worked on my s4 but it lacked fine controls: the its moves rather fast and stopping the its motion is somehow random, not regular. Its good because it works on other apps
Thank you , it's a relief to hear that the problem is fixed.
Next step will be fine-tuning the control as many of you have noted.

seems to got it to work by changing the scrollable area center to the actual center of my screen.
nice app, but was hoping for manual tilt scroll instead of automatic scrolling. would rather control the speed/scrolling by tilt rather than tilting back and forth to start/stop scrolling.

Battery Saving tips for all devices
Good news is you no longer need rooted device on Android 11+ to enter device in doze
* Turn off lockscreen notifications, you will surprise with battery backup.
* Use pockect mode if you keep your device in pocket most of the time
* Give the following adb command
Code:
adb shell settings put global device_idle_constants inactive_to=2592000000,motion_inactive_to=2592000000,light_after_inactive_to=20000,light_pre_idle_to=30000,light_max_idle_to=86400000,light_idle_to=1800000,light_idle_factor=1.5,light_idle_maintenance_max_budget=30000,light_idle_maintenance_min_budget=10000,min_time_to_alarm=60000
Please note that on some devices you need to follow this step again upon restarting the device.
to issue adb command you need adb SDK installed on your PC/Laptop https://drive.google.com/file/d/1f3Wes8Gp2hJ3bjcYHoNVsEG5nGh9PqYW/view?usp=sharing.
Make sure you have USB debugging on from Developer Options and USB driver installed from your device manufacture to connect to PC.
* For rooted device the power saving is enabled automatically you can choose one of the doze mode the best suits your device.
* Close all unnecessary apps to get nice battery backup
Feel free to post here if you required

Nice. Only request would maybe to have a few screen placement location options like middle balanced. Otherwise works great.

Hi, Thanks for using the app.
Fingerprint works on all devices for only on devices with In-Display sensor to get it to work you must be rooted and you need to provide your existing PIN/PASS in the settings so app will automatically enter it. You need to press n hold outside the clock and fingerprint sensor will come up
Soon I am goint to update the Settings UI where I will add a lot customisations.
Stay tuned
I cannot access the in- display fingerprintsensor by pressing the AOD- Screen, although I entered the PIN in the App settings.
Its not shown.

You need to press n hold outside the widget. Pls see the screenshot attached
The pin will not show even if you save it for security purpose. In case you want to chang the PIN just enter it again and save

I saved the PIN
I pressed and held at the recommended area but no fingerprintarea appeard
Hi,
i´m using your app on a OP 7 Pro. I do have no problems so far. The only issue is the batterie drain that´s pretty high. At the end of the day i´m at 50% batterie left, without your AOD at 75%. But so far, very nice app, thank you very much for your work. :good:

Power menu controls
Android 11 has a power menu which is mostly used for home controls. But if you are not using any smart home appliance, the space is basically wasted.
This app adds handy device toggles to the space.
Examples:
Rotation lock
Wake lock
Screen timeout
Brightness toggles
Media volume toggles

The app will be evolved to add more controls. Let me know of any additional suggestions!

No. No way to properly enable airplane mode with or without root.
useless on Samsung does not work on the menu button how to add
Thank you. Makes the otherwise useless Power menu much more interesting.
I dont want to point out the obvious, but all those things are available from the notification shade....who is going to make it harder to reach them by pressing a button to get at them?

All these are NOT available in the Quick Tiles on a standard Google ROM. For example, Wake Lock & Volume. Also, the dev is asking for suggestions, so YOU could ask for something that is not available as a quick tile.

A. A11 power menu has useless space already, so this makes it useful
B. Power button is easier to reach than pulling down the quick settings
C. Dev wanted to make it, so he did xD
Nice app!
I would like to launch apps, like GCAM and standard Camera in selfie mode (using a shortcut or an intent).
(It may be possible to use Tasker for this.)
One use case is to do actions without unlocking the phone (gloves, sweaty fingers etc).
The behavior on My Sony Xperia 5 ii if the phone is locked is that I need to enable flashlight, then the lockscreen opens and I have to press the Power once to turn off the screen before the flash turns on.

I love the features added. But since you ask
The wake-Lock is commonly labeled as "Caffeine" in the custom ROMs I have used before (its normally featured as a QuickTile)
The Caffeine feature normally allows some default break-points in time for when it will automatically turn off. eg 5min, 10min, 30min or never.

Hello, great app I have only two notes.
Please add possibility to keep default brightness in WAKE LOCK mode (I use Mi A3 based on Android ONE and with button active it keeps screen awake, but after some time screen dimms)
Another point is to add button which would turn on MAX BRIGHTNESS (very helpful in some cases) and.. if possible such button would switch off/on AUTOMATIC BRIGHTNESS button simultaneously, or simply restore default system AUTOMATIC BRIGHTNESS settings after switching off the button.

Themes / Apps / Mods App with Lockscreen, NFC and Wifi Quicksettings Tiles

Hi guys.
Recently bought the phone and have been enjoying it so far.
Couple of nags appeared while using it. The lack of doubletap to sleep and the lack of NFC tile (because I don't want to be blasting my google wallet all day).
So after some investigation and some GitHub fishing I was able to develop an app that does both. The goal was to be as clean as possible and avoiding having background services, especially continuous Acessibility services.
THE APP HAS NO INTERFACE!!!
So what the app does is give you an app icon that you can put on your homescreen. When pressed, that activates an acessibility service that locks the screen and allows use of fingerprint or face unlock. The lock is instant with no fake black screens.
The main advantage here is that the app kills itself and the acessibility service also kills itself so the service only runs for 0,03 seconds while turning the screen off.
You also get a "Lock" quicksettings tile that does the same and a "NFC" tile that activates and deactivates the NFC directly through the tile, updating the status dinamically.
Advantages versus other apps like Tasker:
- Zero background services
- Zero battery usage
- No continuous acessibility services that change how apps behave and introduce lag (see: https://www.xda-developers.com/working-as-intended-an-exploration-into-androids-accessibility-lag/ )
To achieve this the app uses the android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS.
Install instructions:
Install the APK, than go to acessibility and try to activate the service, it will be greyed out. Go back to apps, find the app and press the 3 dot sign on the top right, press allow blocked authorizations or something like that.
Then go to ADB (search on XDA or the web if you dont know how to do that) and give the SECURE_SETTINGS authorization with:
Code:
adb shell pm grant com.buildingromspt.lockandnfc android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
After that the app is ready, use the launcher icon or the quicksettings tile to lock the screen or use the NFC to turn it on or off.
Enjoy!

EDIT:
New version with Wi-Fi tile and English and pt-PT locales:
New version
Requires location permission to show the current connected wifi network name, you can disable the "precise location" slider.
Pretty cool! Nice work! This was one of my main gripes as well. I just picked up the s23 Ultra which does have the NFC quick setting, but I'll have to give this a try when I flip back to the Pixel for a change of pace.
I'd be interested in a similar solution for a WiFi quick setting - a few less clicks than drilling into Internet first.
Thanks for sharing!
I'm planning on adding a wifi and a Android Auto tile when I have time
Fantastic !! Something i was waiting for a long time on a Pixel ! Thanks for your great job ! I agree for a wifi tile and a transparent widget for lock the screen if it's possible ?
Thanks again.

There's already a transparent widget for lock the screen, I use it for a few months now, and it works flawless.

It's Ok, had to reapply adb command !!
Really great work. Thank you

Unless the power button is broken or something, I think the hardware buttons are good enough to last a really long time. Other components are likely to fail before the buttons do.

It's easy/fast to lock your smartphone with double tap on the home screen, than try to find the power button at night, specially when you come from an Xiaomi MI 10 with reversed volume and power buttons.
And by the way...
Are the hardware buttons on Google Pixel 7 good enough to last a really long time?

Getting used to the buttons is just a matter of time. I would rather get used to the different layout than have an app that runs with Accessibility 24x7.
