I received an HTC HD2 from someone that I believe had a custom rom on it. I want to reset it to the regular windows mobile. I tried factory reset and taking out the SD card but neither works. It looks similar to the winmo but different. It boots like Energy or something and it's blueish and has different options than winmo. Thanks
An custom ROM can not be 'uninstalled'!
The phone owner before you had it flashed! Now you need to find a suitable ROM to reflash it to your liking

Hope this helps,
Find a factory RUU for your device, and use that to get back to stock WinMo. There aee plenty of threads about RUUs in the Leo sub-forum.

Please please can someone help,
I am very new to this and need someone to help guide me through this.
I have a HTC Touch pro and want to wipe it clean so when i turn it on there isn't the orange start up image......???
I have tried factory reset and tried the thread (Flashing your First GSM Raphael Rom (For Noobs)) and it didn't help. When i turn on my device it will comes up this the orange image.
Please can someone help me
Keep up the good work everyone
Many thanks Jason
So basically you want to change the splash screen from the default Orange one to a new one?
Some rom's (like ROMeOS ones) include a new splash screen so flashing one of these custom rom's will wipe the phone completely, getting rid of all the data on it and replacing it with new software. I'm sure you can find a pretty clean one with just basic windows mobile if you try.
Otherwise if you want all the software that's on it and just want to change the splash screen there are basically rom files with nothing in them except the new splash screen (i think). You'll have to search the forums to find one that you like etc.
Just make sure you've read everything about flashing the phone before you do it. You'll want the Olipro bootloader first etc.

Thanks iammaz, i have flashed my phone using Raphael Rom (For Noobs) and it's till on there i don't know what you mean by looking for ROMs as i don't know how to put different ROM's on my phone,
Sorry if this sounds such a basic request but i've never done this before
Ideally i want to restore the phone to what it would be if you bought it SimFree from HTC, so no 3rd party software or plugins,
Thanks for your help
Hello guys. I'm new here and i really don't know where and how to look for what i need ...So if you can please help me here is problem:
- I have a HTC TOUCH Cruise and i don't like it's today screen and averything. Is there a way i can make it look like a HTC Diamond? I mean the whole today skin, picture swaping, sms swaping, and everything?
What is that I need to know and what to do? Or where to look for and what to look for
I give a beer to the one who helps me
just flash the rom mate... see hard spl posts etc...
you can now even go winmo 6.5, which i have!!
After I flash the rom will i be able to restore the original one if I don't like the new one? Hard-reset will bring the original rom or the new one I just flushed?
You will be able to reflash your device with your original rom again, you can download it from here. When you do a hardreset it will just reinstall the OS what is installed at the time.

Can this go wrong?
When i tried to flash a wm 6.0 rom on my HTC wizard
it went wrong and now is my wizard dead.
is this without risk?
always a risk, nothing guaranteed...
If you are confused with the vast choice of Roms (as I was), have a good look at C Shekar's "b" rom - i installed it six months ago and have no regrets at all.
After flashing the rom, you then go and choose a "today" screen (manila) screen that you like.
Good luck.

ive searched and havent really found anything on this but i was wondering if you can flash a fuze on a vista 64bit laptop and another question. I downloaded a rom it was called "Energy.RAPHAEL.23557.Sense2.5.Cookie.HomeTab.Apr.14" i was wondering if i have to flash a radio after i flash that rom or is it an all in one rom any help will be much appreatied thanks
For the first question, yes. I've Flashed ROMs using Vista x64 and Win7 x64. No issues yet-to-date.
For the second question, be safe. Flash the new Radio BEFORE you flash the Energy ROM.
thank you for the replay ive read the radios form but im still not sure which ones will work for a fuze could you please tell me a radio that will work

Do yourself and us some favor:
Read this thread at least the first few posts
Know if your phone is hardSPL'd or not
Know how to backup and restore your contacts
ROM and Radio are independent, almost all ROMs come WITHOUT Radio so a new ROM wont override your Radio and vice versa
Stay with a 21xxx ROM in the beginning
If the flash with your vista PC doesn't work, flash from SD card (use search to find out how - hint: read what I linked already).
Raphael and Cingular Radios will work on the Fuze B U T none of the Blackstone, Quartz and Xperia will for them you'll need hardSPL AND a CID unlocked phone!!!
I H I G H L Y suggest hardSPL prior trying to flash ANY ROM here in the forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
im pretty sure my phone is already hardslp it was already flashed to a energy rom when i bought it thank you for the reply
Cool that saves you some reading.
What's left is a good Radio rilphone combo (try 14.25.05 Radio) and a ROM you like. As said I'd start with a 21xxx based one (either Sense 2.1 or 2.5). There are plenty around.
Thank you I think I got all the information I need except on the back up program to use I have sprite backup but I've read that some people have problems with that is there any better ones to use and if I back up my phone cuz I use the backup on the rom I flash to?
It depends on what data/information you wish to keep.
If you wish to keep your Contacts, Calender Entries, Texts, Pictures, etc.. Use Microsofts' MyPhone Service. *Recommended*
If you wish to keep all of the above + installed Apps, & Registry Settings, I'd suggest checking out SPB Backup. *Not Recommended :: Registry Conflicts may Occur*
ok so i think i got all the info i need im going to try to flash my phone now im not going to do a hardspl cuz it was flashed to an energy rom when i bought it
Sounds good. Hope all goes well.
Be sure to reply with updates.. or if you need any further assistance.
everything went great! happy with my new rom had no problems flashing at all thanks everyones for your help!
Glad we could help you.
Moved as not ROM Development.
hi,
I rooted my htc desire a few days ago using unrevoked 3.2. I then backed it up and wiped the phone and installed a custom UI (MIUI). I had loads of trubble with installing the rom and then found that my back up wouldnt work either. Today i tried a hard reset but when i boot the phone up all im getting is the o2 boot screen (branded phone to o2). All i want is to go back to what i already had on before (htc sense 2.2), no other custom roms
thanks in advance, please help. my phone is useless at the moment
I may not know much about HTC hardware and sense i do know that if can find the original ROM there should be instructions to install it or just try flashing it. I'm sorry if im mistaken.
How do i flash it and what does flashing do?? and were can i find the original ROM? sorry im a noob
Download and flash RUU_Bravo_Froy2_UK_2.14.207.1_Radio_32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_144166_signed.exe from here: http://www.shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bravo/
You may need to have HTC Sync installed on your computer to flash the RUU.
This information is well discussed in the Desire section of these forums, you should check it out.
Good luck.
Hello XDA community, I'm sort of a noob when it comes to advanced things such as radios and kernals etc. I have a rooted HTC Aria S-On running CM7 but that's basically all I know how to do is easy simple things like what I've done to my Aria. But the issue is a friend of mine was trying to update his HD2 to an ICS ROM but (according to him) he wiped everything down to the MAGLDR. Radio, kernal, ROM etc. He basically has no idea what he's doing with it, most experience with this kind of thing he's had is clicking a button to jailbreak an iPod or two. What I'm trying to do is figure out how to get the correct radio and kernal for the phone, and install ClockworkMod recovery and CM9 on it. Any help would be appreciated
follow the guide below, should be what you're looking for. Mind you this is assuming your NAND and not running it from the SD.

Many thanks man, didn't find that thread during my searches. One more thing, Nandroid isn't installed anymore either, would that be just a simple search for a DL link for the HD2 and install through the USB flasher in the MAGLDR?
yeah it should be, if I'm understanding you correctly...worst case I would just go from start to finish from the guide below so I don't leave anything unturned. Follow this guide before following the the previous one (that one assumes you did this already).

Thanks again, happy I can return the phone without it being a $200 paperweight
lol no problem
