Please can someone help me
Keep up the good work everyone
Many thanks Jason
So basically you want to change the splash screen from the default Orange one to a new one?
Some rom's (like ROMeOS ones) include a new splash screen so flashing one of these custom rom's will wipe the phone completely, getting rid of all the data on it and replacing it with new software. I'm sure you can find a pretty clean one with just basic windows mobile if you try.
Otherwise if you want all the software that's on it and just want to change the splash screen there are basically rom files with nothing in them except the new splash screen (i think). You'll have to search the forums to find one that you like etc.
Just make sure you've read everything about flashing the phone before you do it. You'll want the Olipro bootloader first etc.

Thanks iammaz, i have flashed my phone using Raphael Rom (For Noobs) and it's till on there i don't know what you mean by looking for ROMs as i don't know how to put different ROM's on my phone,
Sorry if this sounds such a basic request but i've never done this before
Ideally i want to restore the phone to what it would be if you bought it SimFree from HTC, so no 3rd party software or plugins,
Thanks for your help

Hey all,
I have a HTC Tytn II on the orange network. For some reason orange replaced the HTC home with their own ****ty application. It's awful. I want to reinstall the HTC Home, and I've read enough to know that this entails flashing the ROM.
I've read the newbie guide, and I'm fairly sure that I can unlock the CID easily enough. Correct me if I'm wrong; but after this stage; all I need do is install the ROM I want. If the radio code doesnt work then I may need to flash a new radio code; but it will probably be ok.
My problem is that I don't know which ROM I should flash...
If someone could advise me, and even make sure that I take the right steps; it'd be greatly appreciated... I apologise for asking the same questions again; but as a n00b i could very easily destroy my phone =0(
Anyone fancy helping out?!

Ps,
you can PM if you don't wanna bother others with this...
you can install the HTC home without flashing the rom.
'll see if i can root out a post that explains it, failing that i'll post al ink to the apps and which you need.
mainly as i need to do this again myself

I had the same problem so I updated my TYTN II on Orange and now its Orange fee check out this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=357592
Dead easy to do without flashing a new ROM. Simply install HTC Home (from the CABs page sticky) and then go into Settings/Today/Items and take the tick off Orange and select HTC Home.
Cheers peeps,
i'll give this a go now... Thanks for getting back...
ju take a jump and unlock it at imeicheck.com and install duttys v3 it is the best rom i have tried and i dont know if i will use another
Sorry guys & gals. New to this but cannot get a handle on the right thing to do. Can anybody help? Yes have read the basics but its not basic to me I am afraid.
I have got an HTC TYTNII from Orange. Need to unlock the sim card lock. Then would like to clear out all the Orange rubbish with a rom flash I think its called (havent got all the words right just yet). However as I paid a few quid forthe phone do not really wish to stew it!! If you know what I mean Harry! Cannot find hardspl etc on so on have ativesync fitted and running. All help greatly appreciated.
This webpage has a ton of files that have been extremely helpful to me so far...
http://duttythroy.lives-in.eu/
dont really know how to help
but
if you want to use hardspl is on the sticky thread
activesync can be downloaded from ms depending on the os you are using.
if you want more help tell me what you need and i will guide you

Lots of reading
I suggest you do lots more reading.
However, as a starter, go to :
http://www.imei-check.co.uk/kaiser-unlock.php
Pay for the unlocking service.
Then, and only then, install HardSPL
Following that, you can install any ROM you like (for Kaiser / TYTN II)
If you install a ROM based on Windows Mobile 6.1, chances are you will have to install a new Radio coding too. You should install the one for UK Vodaphone on :
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser_Radio
Don't worry, it works on Orange, I have it on mine.
I recommend the Alex ROM even though it is still a Beta version, it is very good.
After you install the ROM and done a hard reset (keep both soft buttons pressed down whilst pressing the reset button with your stylus) install the radio, then do another hard reset.
Bingo, it's like a different phone.
Thanks for the info have carried out the first bit awaiting reply. Where can I download HardSPL please? Having looked at your recommended ROMs Which one?.. wow some cooking I can see I will be Flashing all day!!

if you cannot look & find it right there in one of the sticky threads of this forum ... I'd suggest you do not attempt any flashing to your device !!!
as some of those stickies contained mandatory informations that you need to READ THOROUGHLY !!!
Hello guys. I'm new here and i really don't know where and how to look for what i need ...So if you can please help me here is problem:
- I have a HTC TOUCH Cruise and i don't like it's today screen and averything. Is there a way i can make it look like a HTC Diamond? I mean the whole today skin, picture swaping, sms swaping, and everything?
What is that I need to know and what to do? Or where to look for and what to look for
I give a beer to the one who helps me
just flash the rom mate... see hard spl posts etc...
you can now even go winmo 6.5, which i have!!
After I flash the rom will i be able to restore the original one if I don't like the new one? Hard-reset will bring the original rom or the new one I just flushed?
You will be able to reflash your device with your original rom again, you can download it from here. When you do a hardreset it will just reinstall the OS what is installed at the time.

Can this go wrong?
When i tried to flash a wm 6.0 rom on my HTC wizard
it went wrong and now is my wizard dead.
is this without risk?
always a risk, nothing guaranteed...
If you are confused with the vast choice of Roms (as I was), have a good look at C Shekar's "b" rom - i installed it six months ago and have no regrets at all.
After flashing the rom, you then go and choose a "today" screen (manila) screen that you like.
Good luck.

FLASH A NEW ROM TO YOUR PHONE...not yelling caps were on
It's probably not a good idea to create the same exact thread in multiple forums.
Go read what I posted in your other thread that you made.
thanks for the info, and sorry for multi post in the wrong forum will try to close that. And can i ask something? i've been reading the [Resources] Flashing your First GSM Raphael Rom (For Noobs) from the start, up to page 35 for now (i need to finish another 80 pages or so to complete reading it up) but i don't seem to find any question related to what i want to find out so i might just ask it here;
As i am new to flashing rom, i know if i want to flash some nice rom to my touch pro (i'm using the singtel WWE stock rom)
1) i need to hardspl it so i can flash any other rom into my phone, flash the new rom that i desire etc.. and the important question is.. if i want to completely reverse my phone back to the original stock condition, stock hardspl / stock rom etc (like from the 1st day i got it, very very stock and original). I know i need to flash back the stock hardspl and stock rom and so on... So after all the flashing will my touch pro be like a really original stock touch pro??? Or will it be i am only flashing another rom but it is an original stock rom back to my device... Anyone understand what i mean???
2) Actually i need to ask about the radio thingy but i think i'd better wait for my 1) answer, cuz if i can't get my phone back to the original stock condition after i flash some wm6.5 rom in it i might not want to risk flashing...
Any advice are appreciated, thanks
hardpsl is a one time thing, once you flash it, you dont need to keep using hardspl to try new roms. when you want to revert to the original rom, just go to HTC singapore's site, under support, go download the rom. it will be the singtel wwe rom. if you're worried about warranty, there shouldnt be an issue, i reflashed the singtel rom to my phone before sending it to harborfront for repair, and there was no mention of me reflashing the rom, and they repaired my phone as required.
ps, you dont really need to read all 80 pages of the thread, just get to flashing. hardspl, then try the energy rom (thats what im using) and see how easy it is.
cheers,

hi everyone,
iv got a htc touch pro,to be precise it is my first ever smartphone and i have tried to flash and add a new rom to my handset.i read all forums and threads on various sites about how to perform a successful flash and rom.installation of the rom were successful, but my phone does not load up to main screen at all!does that mean my touch pro is bricked????however,i can go to the bootloader and try a hard reset, but that doesnt work either.i have found out that my handset was already unlocked using Olinex.
Please can anyone help me out???im really really stressed out.
many thanks.
Ok, best thing to try is to download the official factory rom.
Start the phone and get it to the boot-loader screen.
Plug it in to your PC and wait for the word USB to show up at the bottom of the phone's screen.
Next run the factory rom installation on the PC and go through the steps. It should hopefully flash fine back to the original OS.
thanks alot, that really helped!!!!you havent a clue how stressed out i was when that happened.anyways,i could do with some more help.since i bought this phone,my net has NOT been working.it was officially branded on vodafone but it was unlocked by previous owner.i have ordered official settings from Htc and o2 themselves and still no result.anyone have any solution(s) for this problem?????
like alot of people have said to me,without net on these smartphones, the TP is nothing!so if anyone has a solution, please DO tell me about it
Many thanks.
I would disagree that without internet smartphones are nothing.... but that's not the point. Do you know which ROM you're using?
Are you using a stock rom? if so, from which company.
Alot of people here have their signature to show what rom/radio/phone (type) they have. it makes it easier for those who want to help to provide answers or suggestions faster and you wont have to get nagged asking the same question everytime
Firstly - slow down!
Not quite sure if you have a problem now or not, and if you do, if its the same as you started with.
From what you have written:
You have read some stuff
You have flashed some stuff
it hasnt worked as you expected
you asked for help on here
you may have flashed some more stuff
you may or may not have a problem still.
No offence, but its pretty tricky to offer much in the way of useful assistance when we dont know what state the phone is in.
Dont panic - enter the bootloader. Note what it says (SPL)
Reset, note the rom & radio versions.
See what works & what doesnt.
Read the forum rules - especially about starting new posts and how to name them (seriously urgent help needed isnt very descriptive). Use the search function to see if your problem has been answered (lots of connectivity issues will have been). If you still are having problems, reply to this post, or make a new one if more appropriate, saying clearly what you have (including rom & radio as appropriate) and what you are stuck with.
Oh, welcome to the forums.
