i mostly just want to know if cyanogen will be cooking up some love for the nexus s!
I think he tweeted saying that if the Nexus S code hit AOSP then he would be bringing CM to it.
Koush will be handling the NS Cyanogen Development

Google has started pushing Gingerbread to the AOSP.

I just noticed that myself - this is a good day
What do you think? Will Nexus One get the gingerbread update now?
Lol came to post it. Glad someone is on their toes. I hope this makes the development community happy.
Sent from my shoe, I mean....Epic shoe... I mean Samsung Epic! http://mobilehighway.blogspot.com/
Today seems to be a good day, first the porting of Gingerbread's keyboard on my HTC Desire than this update, Anyways well I think Nexus S will get the update.

I doubt that'll stop porting being done pretty quickly.
Can't wait for a rom to be available for the amaze!
Hope to see something cool for the Atrix 4G. Probably won't happen any time soon, but a man can dream.
Can not wait till it finds it way to my device.
Surely this will reach the Galaxy S2 before the end of the year? Have an upgrade due next month and as much as I want ICS I can't justify upgrading to the Galaxy Nexus as it's just not good enough, so think I'll wait for S3 and hope that Cyanogen ports this over ASAP! Will definitely donate a nice amount to the cause.
im hoping it reaches my gs2 asap
worth the wait!
Google really seems to be embarrassed by the HC source, but glad to see that they kept to their openness promise.
I want my 2.3.5 update for my S2 and then I want ICS by jan-fep.
Can anyone familiar with the dev-scene comment on whether this will help in porting ICS to GSII ? Last I remember, the problem with SDK port was with the graphic driver (Mail400) and the source-code release for sure does not help on that front!
its about time!
let's get it on!
Yessssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally!!! Xmas today!
Still waiting working on my phone
How does the development for other devices (than Galaxy Nexus) look like from this point:
1) someone said there are no "profiles" for other devices - does it mean that Google has still to release something in addition to this source to make it usable for the developers, so that they'll be able to make custom ROMs like CM for other devices?
or
2) the developers can handle it without that "profiles"?
And of course I understand the devs have to collect all device-specific code like drivers etc.

Awesome. What a treat.
Yeah let the roms coming!!
I just recently moved from the G2 to the mt4g slide and I was wondering if it is even possible to port the mexdroidmod rom for the G2 to the mt4g slide. It is cm7 based rom
mexdroidmod -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=886184
I used to use this ROM back with my ol' G2.
We currently/won't have a "official" CM7, hence no CM merged into source.
We do have a CM9 coming, but that's besides the point.
Just like PyroMod by blah and spark it isn't very likely to get a MeXDroidMod ROM made from scratch....
I'm no dev, but I hear anything can be ported. The only thing is: mobile hardware has changed leaps inbetween the 2 phones, so it'd b a longshot for a port. Best chance is waiting for our CM9's debut then talking "myjbaar" (hope that's spelled close) and asking if he and his team are interested in trading up and deving for our devices with a ICS MeXDroidMod.
Idk. I'm not that dev team, but I will say a port is unlikely and since our CM isn't merged with source its likely a no go that itl be made from our own CM.
Wait for CM9. But do ask that team if they're at all interested in this blazin' device!
Just my spare change.
blahbl4hblah is interested in porting PyroMod, A2EXT and all, to the Doubleshot. He's just waiting on CM9.

Looks like they are looking to port to more devices are any developers interested in bringing this to the XT925/926 devices? Would need maintainer also - I just don't have the ability or time but I love these builds on my Gnex and Nexus 7 -though it would be worth a shot to see if someone is interested
Hi all,
Just wondering what the custom ROM development scene is like for Nexus devices?
Are they available or does it get less support as people prefer stock Android
I understand that N5 will not have many ROMS at the moment, but what are peoples's predictions?
I have a Galaxy S2 at the moment, considering an upgrade to N5, and just wanna know what the activity of the scene is like for nexus devices?
Loads to browse through on this site.
Sent from my Nexus 4
Welcome to xda Ben... basically, dev support is likely to be huge... probably far more than a person can keep up with
Sweet, that's what i was hoping for!
Thanks for your help
If the Nexus 5 is like the Nexus 7 or Galaxy Nexus development sections there will be a ton of roms. Unless there is some sort of encryption with bootloader or kernel that makes a root exploit hard to achieve. We already have custom recovery so that is a good sign.
