Market Update problems - Captivate General

I can't seem to get my market to update from 1714, in the application management section there is no option to clear data only cache
Am i screwed?
any way i can make it add more data so maybe the button will show uP!

You don't have control over the market update. It'll happen when it happens.

other people have been able to clear data and get it but i dont even have the button

Issue with market

Hi there, for some reason I had to factory reset my Sensation.
Now the market does list the applications I used to have on my phone, even though I was always in sync with google.
I would like to clear market data, through settings, manage applications, market, but the button 'clear data' is greyed out?
Anyone with some thoughts? It just bothers me so much right now, I would appreciate some help. Thanks.
fixed through hard reset

system insability sensation XE

Hi!
i've got a stock XE (not root, no custom recovery, no CFW) with android 4.0.3 and the phone reboots everytime i go back to home with the home button ;(
any suggestions?
thanks
This is some common steps to see if you can fix it.
First if you have a lot of text messages delete them.
Second if you have a lot of calls in your call history delete your call history.
Third download App Cache Cleaner from the Play Store and use it to delete all the app cache on your device.
The above steps are to free up space on your device to gain resources. You can also uninstall any apps that you just do not use are need to free up space. Without having the proper amount of resources available on a device it can start to perform oddly.
Give the device some time after doing these steps to see if they elimanate the problem. If they do not thengo to System/Privacy and make sure you have a check beside "Backup my settings" and the go to Settings/Storage and scroll to the bottom and select "Factory data reset" bit make sure you remember your gmail account and password cause you will need it to re sync your contacts and settings after the reset.

In-App Touch Issue

Does anyone else have issues with selecting stuff while in apps. Like when another app menu pops up, you can't select it?
Example: I've had issues when I open up an app and then trying to authorize Dropbox for it. Dropbox then opens up inside the original app, but I can't select anything. It's like the touch just stopped working. The only way to get out of it is pressing back.
Another more recent one is in the app TabbedOut, when I go to select Google Wallet as my form of payment, I can't change the card or select Accept.
Here's a video of what I mean:

Does anyone else have this issue and know a fix? It's quite annoying.
Thanks.
No one else is having this issue? Or have any ideas on what I could do to fix this?

Do the power and volume buttons still work when the screen stops responding?
Yes and yes.
When the screen is off, and you press the power button, does the screen come on immediately as usual, or is there a delay?
Comes on immediately. Everything is working perfectly fine. It's just I can't select anything on the "pop-up" menu that shows up. Even the back/home/recent apps "buttons" work on the screen.
I would try clearing cache and data in recovery. While you're there, might as well fix permissions.
Wipe data or format data?

wipe
It did this on another ROM I was running. Even after a full wipe it still does it on this ROM (stock 4.2.2).

Sorry, that's all I got.
Might be a bit late to the party here. Seems to be a dropbox app issue affecting lots of apps. Try installing the app from the dropbox.com site or uninstall dropbox and validate through the normal website authentication.

Once it's authenticated you should be fine reinstalling the play store version.

[Q] goes back to home page by itself

I have a galaxy tab 2. the problem I am having is when I'm on a page like playing a game or something it just goes back to the home page whenever it wants to on its own I don't know how to stop this. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!
I had this happen to me. I don't know what I did to fix it. you can try clearing cache and dalvik cache. download some different virus scanners. look for any apps that could be doing it like ones that use permissions that are not needed or any apps you installed since it started happening. Check phone's storage space.

Hangouts push notifications not working

Hello,
My Hangouts push notifications stopped working along with some other push notifications. The problem seems to have started a couple of days ago after I reset the Google Services Framework trying to trigger the OTA update for 5.0
This is really frustrating, and I seem to be unable to fix the problem with resetting Hangouts, resetting Services Framework, setting notification check on and off again.
Please advise. Thank you!
I've done exactly the same thing with the same result on my 2014 Moto X :crying:
Any ideas how to fix without factory reset?

Well, I must report that I manager to solve the issue. I've done all these things before, but not in this sequence, and the fix did not seem to to work until I did this:
Go to settings -> apps -> Hangouts -> clear cache, data, uninstall updates -> then restart the phone -> let itself update and it worked for me.
The reason that happened in the first place is that you cleared data for Google Services Framework. This has absolutely nothing to do with triggering the OTA. Those are the facts given to the world directly from a Google engineer.
http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/1r1n5z/
http://www.talkandroid.com/185088-g...houldnt-clear-google-services-framework-data/
"Morris talked a little about the OTA update process, and why it might take a while for some users to get it. Essentially the update starts on 1% of devices over 24-48 hours. It then moves up towards 100% over a week or so. Updates are essentially done in batches, so pressing the “Check for Updates” button over and over really isn’t going to affect when you get that update much."
Next time be patient or just flash factory images or update.zip. Every time you try to fix it again by clearing GSF you're basically breaking it again.
tl;dr, stop clearing Google services framework, that's what is breaking your push notifications.
Thanks, I understand that much. But in prior versions, clearing GSF would trigger OTA update with 100% success, nor would it mess up push notifications from apps either, so I thought why not try lol. Looks like Google has removed this workaround this time...
I have same problem with hangs push notifications after update to Lollipop. They cannot be delivered at all. I cannot see history chat in real-time messages arrived. History updates after scroll down only.
Above sulutioon cannot be done. Hangs app hasn:t uninstall state button, it hs only on-off states.
