What does this mean exactly ? its updated nightly ? or ... haha

a nightly-build contains all the newest changes which come step-by-step.
all the changes will be offered in a new release candidate if there are stable and harmonize.
so if you always want the newest fixes, patches and so on..you have to flash the nightly-builds. but there is no guarantee that it is stable.
if you want a stable build you have to wait for the rc
sorry for my bad english

Team Douche do work on the rom every day. You can see what commitments they make to the code on the git hub. Every night an automated build bot compiles the code into a flashable rom. As stated in the op, these are experimental builds which add new features but may be quite buggy. In my experience with the nexus one they are usually very stable apart from the odd annoying glitch.
Most importantly for bleeding edge lovers like myself you get to check out new features before, often weeks before, people using the stable branch.

But, now Cyanogen has got all organised, at this stage in the cycle i.e prior to release of the stable version it tends to mainly be bug-fixes rather than additional features so in my experience these late nightly release are often better than the RC's on which they are based

Good point. Until Cyanogenmod 7 (Gingerbread) we probably won't see any new features.
Can't post link to git hub right now but google "cyanogenmod git hub" should take you right there.

Thats actually pretty insane, NIGHTLY UPDATES . what more could you ask for ... iv been waiting for updates on other roms for weeks now...

The ROM is great but it drains the battery too quickly. Can someone help me on this.

Great to get nightlies, new to Android but well used to this from XBMC, open source ftw.

Would have to disagree, took mine off charge this morning and used it throughout the day heavy enough including FM Radio, PowerAMP, browser, some apps and watching TV on the journey home and battery is at 51% now.

hi i'm new to Android and have a few questions. Just flashed this rom and it looked amazing except that I didn't have market or any other apps. Is it just me (do those apps fall under the Google stuff mentioned earlier? And is it possible to get my contacts from leedroid (just switched after full wipe) also would it help if I flashed the "normal" CM and install the nighty Rom s update ?Anyone can help me? Thx in advance

yup market, gmail, maps etc come under the GAPPS package which you have to flash after flashing cyanogen mod.
If you sync your contacts to your gmail then it should be restored after entering your account details with the new rom
And it doesn't matter if you install the normal CM and then install the nightly, you can just jump straight into the nightly if you want. As previously stated, normal is a stable release whereas nightly is untested but usually stable.

yes you need to get the google addons for theDHD its HDPI-20101114
http://goo-inside.me/google-apps/
but if you downloaded the rom from rom manger it asks you if you want the google add-ons after the rom as well.
when you install google add-ons sould get your contacts back
only need to do full wipe if you coming from a different rom, eg leedroids rom, if already using CM 6.1 rc2 or rc1 just need to flash the nightly over it.

Thx a lot you both saved my day

So any one care to comment what extra feature or u got repair on this NB ? Cop are to the RC
Tis exciting!

Yes! Nightly builds. I have been missing those. Even considered switching back to N1 just for my Nightly fix (and trackball).

Well I'm running nightly build 6 and being on such a low build number got me all hot and bothered. No issues to report so far.

This is an AOSP-based build with extra contributions from many people which you can use without any type of Google applications. I found a link from some other project that can be used to restore the Google parts, which can be found below or elsewhere in the thread. I've still included the various hardware-specific code, which seems to be slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Have they fixed the battery leak (During standby) in this RC release?
even some of the nightly builds were stable. Imagining hw this 1 ll b. gr8. going to flash it nw.
First bug that was in the last few nightly builds is still present. WiFi shows no networks when you turn it on and after a few seconds then turns itself back off again. Full wipe done, clean install coming from a Sense ROM.

We won't change basic libs in a stable rom to make an outdated app running.
If you bought navigon, complain to them. If you use it without buying, switch to sygic aura, which is superior imho

Battery is okay. Not great, but okay - charging once a day should do. We have located the problem, but fix needs much more work and testing. and today, well it was by far the most busy day I experienced till date since joining cm team.
Maybe we can double standby time, but what we have is fully okay as is - charging once a day is accepted usually. Just need to upgrade from okay to great

That's the goal, true. But htc does a lot of black kernel magic for desire hd they didn't do before. That needs a lot of investigation to get used to.

GPS shows no sign of coming to life and WiFi turns on, sees no networks and then turns itself off after a few seconds.

[ROM][06-02-13][Flinny] Andromadus - CM10[133]

Andromadus - Test Builds
To start with here you will find test versions of ROMs built by me from the Andromadus github repo http://github.com/Andromadus, think of them along the same concept as nightly builds just not every night These are development ROM's, if you want to run bleeding edge development ROM's and at least know how to use adb and logcat then you might find something of interest here. If you require something that works 100% of the time all of the time then this might not be for you. That said you can always give it a try and if it doesn't work restore your previous nandroid backup!
What IS Andromadus?
Initially it was a group of people who got together to make ICS work on the HTC Desire Z because nobody else seemed to want to support devices with physical hardware keyboards/trackpads. Whilst the idea stays the same It has grown slightly to support some other hardware and some of the work we have done is now used in many other devices. Andromadus builds of CM10 or CM10.1 are basically CM sources with a few additional tweaks or additions to support our phones.
1. New versions will be added as and when I feel there are enough changes to warrant one, don’t ask when the next version is coming.
2. If we decide to release a "Stable" version of these roms they will be published in another Andromadus thread.
Direct all your queries with release versions to that thread and in the same vain do not discuss these releases anywhere but here.
3. I will do as best I can to answer questions but if you don't get an answer from me I'm sure somebody else will be along to help. Help each other and I have more time to spend fixing things!
4. Don't ask for what's changed since the previous version, have a look at the recent submits on the Andromadus github if you want to know or wait for the mini changelogs when I post a new release.
5. If there is something in particular to test it'll be mentioned!
6. As always if you didn't wipe between installations then at least verify that the problem exists on a clean install before posting here. Nandroid/superwipe/install/check at the end of the day you can always restore your nandroid if the problem is reproducible on a clean installation. If you can't be bothered to try this then I really can't be bothered to try to help you :>
7. All that said ensure you make a nandroid/backup before hand. I take no responsibility for what you do to your phone with these ROM.
8. Whilst I can't stop you I would rather these builds were not used as a base for any ROM/MOD/ETC. The source is all available if you want to do your own builds with which you can do whatever you like.
9. Tell us what works/what's worse/what's better but don't ***** when something breaks or isn't fixed yet, report it and move on.
10. Sometimes people forget that we do this for fun, for ourselves, and sometimes your super important issue is way down on our personal list of things to be fixed.
If you ignore any of the above you will in turn be ignored.
Now that's all out of the way as always have fun
As usual you need to flash the ROM then GAPPS.
Checkout http://andromadus.flinny.org for links/files/previous changelog's
This a team/community effort, I'll not list everyone who has helped along the way here that list is in the beta thread but I will say thanks to all of them again and obviously anyone that has been missed.
Current Version changelog
CM10 build 133
There was an issue with the backup tool in the last build that will break gapps and your account's etc when flashing this build, the solution is to re-flash gapps at the same time as the rom and you should be fine. This build should fix it so that the next build will work as it should
Changes.
Synced with CM - Again not many changes upstream.
Basically everything relevant to our phones up to the 4th of February in the following has been merged

Thanks flinny!
Just installed this rom over AOSP 4.2 v3 with cache&dalvik wipe.
Lockscreen widgets are now not oversized, that's good.:good:
The bug I have is with the AOSP keyboard, it doesn't show up (black screen instead, see the screenshot) and then FCs. Tried clearing data and cache, but it didn't work.

Cyanogenmod 11

Hi !
I have a few questions:
- If I flash this unofficial rom, will it be possible to have official updates without flashing another rom ?
- And also, is it already good for everyday use ?
Thanks !

- nope, you won't get official updates.
- it depends on your needs, check the bug list, if it does not bother you then it is okay for your daily use!

Ok thanks for reply !
Then I think I will wait for the official release, because I want a fully functional version for my moto G
Iv just finally been able to flash it, been on the latest rom for two days, bugs for me are youtube freezing and the lockscreen unlock, which actually isnt that bad, u wont need latest official release because this rom will always be up to date and when the phone gets abandoned, people like dhacker are hero's for us because they'll keep our phone updated

Yes I know the great job devs are doing for us before the moto G I had a LG optimus L7 and thanks to cyanogenmod I had kitkat on it.
But as far as this phone just came out, I'm asking myself if it's good to avoid my warranty just to have the same version of android ...
(correct me if I say bad words because I have to train my english  )
Battery life has been better for me and customization, i think im just happy to flash a different rom, been trying for about 2 weeks, or failing more like, ur english is good, good luck to u

Wrong. With CMUpdater, if you're running an unofficial build, the nightlies (when they appear) will show up. Even if they don't, you most definitely will be able to manually flash the nightlies without wiping.
The one exception will be if you want to switch to the new "corporate" release streams from Cyngn if those ever get turned on for the device. Those will require a wipe - but official nightlies won't.

I am fully aware for that, but I thought he meant Motorola's official stock updates, not CM's official nightlies.
But still, it is risky to flash official nightly updates on an unofficial build.
Anyway, I might be wrong, I came from a device which did not have a official CM build.

There could be risks if you flash an unofficial build from someone who is not at all working on merging a device into CM - they often cherry pick all sort of stuff that causes incompatibilities with upstream to the point where the product really shouldn't be called CM. (I've seen lots of "CM" kangs that had all sorts of extra crap added beyond just doing what is required for device bringup...)
dhacker, however, is an official CM maintainer for many devices, so his builds are the ones that are "on track" for official inclusion.
OK, and I've a few questions again :
If I flash updates directly from CM updater, is it like official updates from Motorola ? I won't lose all my data ?
Because I don't want to lose everything every time a new release come out
U dont lose data, only if u do a factory reset, i do a cache and dalvick wipe, never had any problems doing that

If people had to wipe every time they flashed an updated, nightlies wouldn't be as popular as they are now.
In general:
1) If you're coming from another project (CM to Omni or vice versa, or any of those to/from stock) you'll need to wipe. Titanium Backup and/or even Androids 'adb backup' can save a lot of time here
2) If you're coming from a previous version of the same project (An unofficial CM build to official nightlies, and subsequent nightlies) you should only have to wipe if someone screwed up
2b) You can usually even do version upgrades this way - e.g. CM10.2 to CM11, although of course this device never saw 10.2 except possibly some super-pre-alpha builds
One exception you may see down the line - with the formation of Cyanogen Inc (aka Cyngn), there are now two release streams. The Community stream (classic nightlies and such) and the "Pro" or "Cyngn" or whatever it's called now release stream. The most obvious example of this right now is CM10.2 on the Oppo N1 - you can't transition between this and community builds without wiping to my knowledge. It's not a big issue now but might be something you need to watch out for in the future.

Ok thanks for the informations ! After one hour of intense fighting with my computer, I finally unlocked bootloader, rooted, and flashed cyanogenmod I prefer this rom to the stock one, I find it more smooth, and more costumization
i think its ok for daily use. At least i use it everyday.
I posted this question in a couple other places, but no reply.
I have the GPE version of the Moto G, and I want to run the CM11 builds on it.
Will the fact that the GPE version has the ext4 fs on it prevent me from getting these to work?
I know there are recoveries available specifically for the GPE, but will getting the CM11 builds to work be just a matter of changing a few entries in fstab?
And finally, do either of the recoveries allow you ro format /data from either f2fs to ext4 or the other way around?
Thanks/
I've replaced stock Rom (4.4.2 US Global Version) for unofficial CM11 (2014-02-16's release) and for now CM works more stable than stock.
I had few reboots or issue with .flac, in CM's everything is OK, for now of course. Very good stuff even that is only nightly's release.

Check post #2 to see if it has been reported.
Search thread first or at least attempt to. Yes, we all know XDA can be difficult to search but try to search this thread only first.
If you have issues and have used TiBu or any other app restore program then perform a clean install without restoring apps to see if you can replicate before reporting.
List the following info: ROM build date, what you were doing and can you replicate it.
Get a logcat if possible.

I dont think so. CM skips nightlies for some reason, not sure why. Hopefully we will see one tonight or tomorrow night at the latest.

This is stable enough for me to use as an everyday (12/6 nightly). Will OTA update list show when an official stable version releases? Will I be able to update CM versions OTA using the update feature in settings? Great work last CM i used was CM 7 for my HTC One X hahaha:good::good:

tonight it is... 20141209 is there :good:
Camera quality seems to be great on CM11. I tested this next to a stock Verizon G3 and the only difference I noticed between the 2 would be the color temperature. One macro image I took with both was noticeably better on the one with CM11.
so does the laser auto focus still seem to function correctly with this?
is there any real way to verify that it is working except supposed time to capture image by estimation
Best flashed rom yet... Tried Liquid Smooth and ran into a bunch of different issues and wanted something more stable. This runs fast and smooth, no issues as of yet. Wish the LG quick remote would one day work on this rom. Thanks for posting!
