This is an AOSP-based build with extra contributions from many people which you can use without any type of Google applications. I found a link from some other project that can be used to restore the Google parts, which can be found below or elsewhere in the thread. I've still included the various hardware-specific code, which seems to be slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Credits cyanogenmod team, really!

Have they fixed the battery leak (During standby) in this RC release?

even some of the nightly builds were stable. Imagining hw this 1 ll b. gr8. going to flash it nw.

First bug that was in the last few nightly builds is still present. WiFi shows no networks when you turn it on and after a few seconds then turns itself back off again. Full wipe done, clean install coming from a Sense ROM.

We won't change basic libs in a stable rom to make an outdated app running.
If you bought navigon, complain to them. If you use it without buying, switch to sygic aura, which is superior imho

Battery is okay. Not great, but okay - charging once a day should do. We have located the problem, but fix needs much more work and testing. and today, well it was by far the most busy day I experienced till date since joining cm team.
Maybe we can double standby time, but what we have is fully okay as is - charging once a day is accepted usually. Just need to upgrade from okay to great

Looking forward to the day when the batt is 'great', cos I remember CM builds having better batt life than Sense builds on my old Hero so hoping for the DHD that it'll be at least similar and I'll be a happy camper!

That's the goal, true. But htc does a lot of black kernel magic for desire hd they didn't do before. That needs a lot of investigation to get used to.
Swyped with cyanogenmod 7 powered HTC Desire HD. Excuse typos.

Two bugs now.
GPS shows no sign of coming to life and WiFi turns on, sees no networks and then turns itself off after a few seconds.

Thanks Kali!
Currently running RC2, and everything is working very well. Running the stock radio, and HSUPA is obviously working with a Speed test of 2.1 mbps up. The issues with the proximity sensor I had experienced with earlier nightlies has been cleared up as well. I have ran all day at 1401 MHZ, and battery life has been fine. The ROM feels smooth, and I just posted a Quadrant score of 2250, for those that are interested in that sort of thing.
I've ran every other ROM out there, including the new ones based on the leaked HTC Gingerbread build. No other ROM feels as smooth as CM on my Inspire.
I did do a full wipe (including Dalvik) before I installed RC 2, which may account for the complete absence of troubling issues. The only thing worth noting is that you need to reboot the system after the initial setup BEFORE you connect to wireless. Not everyone has reported this issue, but I have had to do this every time I run a fresh install of CM.
So flash Tom and Google addon. There is no sound or GPS fix needed, correct? Haven't flashed cm7 since #11 so was excited to see this post.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
Yep - the audio/gps fix is already included in RC2. :-D
the dsp fix version 5 still requires you to run google voice dialer to initialise the fix, otherwise the command returns the aic3254 status ON. fix is still broken.

I'm aware that a true DSP fix is in process and not yet implemented; Blaine was asking about the audio/gps fix we had to flash on the pre-12 nightly builds.

Version 5 no longer requires Google's voice search or voice dialer to be used once after every reboot to correctly initialize the fix

this is what i was referring to, and it is NOT true. you MUST still run the google voice dialer to initialize the fix, or it will still pull 200+ mA, and the dsp chip will NOT turn off. sorry for the confusion.

flashed, and with the screen being off most of the time in a little over an hour i went from full to 85%, thatsd a litttle too much so i will wait until a proper battery fix is released and then happily flash this again as i liked it alot
big deal breaker is no group sms or one that i can figure out. also deleting threads one at a time or delete all. no way to select which ones
wish there was calibration settings for the keyboard recognition and the g-sensor like the stock rom has.
After flashing this i cant seem to get a GPS lock It finds maybe 3 and thats it. Is there a fix for this? (Telus DHD)
This rom is great BUT, i cant mount my sd cards. Every time it tells me the sd card is damaged. I've tried 4 different cards. They all dont mount.
EDIT: I flashed back to Revolution and sd cards work fine so its definitely a ROM issue.

You have to install "gapps" (Google apps, including Market) separately. They are in the first post of this thread.
Flashed RC1 about 3 hours ago. (with kernel DC891). It was nearly unusable (slow) at first. Reboot helped a lot and speed seems to be improving with uptime. I've been watching for inordinate CPU usage but nothing out of the ordinary yet.
Looks like 7.1 final will be a good excuse to do a full wipe and clean install.
EDIT:
Flashed to above from nightly 111, DC87, gapps 613
Governor: interactive; 200min, 787max
It would just make sense having the fingerprint for 2.3.4 as that's what version it is

It seems like I've been having awful battery life since nightly 111 + DC87 but I haven't done any real testing. Just reset battery stats to see how it goes. During the battery stats process, the phone was up with 18.5hrs of "normal" use before dying, so I might just be imagining things.
If it starts acting up again I will do a full wipe and stay with stock CM kernel to see how it performs.

I'll look at it, but a bad fingerprint can have a pretty negative impact on Market. I'd want to use one well tested before putting it in an RC. I am less concerned with the version of the fingerprint than compatibility.
Nice job devs, RC1 is running nicely!
I'm sure I missed something somewhere regarding this explanation, but adb gives "error: device not found" when trying to connect.
Wasn't too big of a problem, I just did it from recovery instead, but thought I should mention it.

Any idea if the battery life is back to how it was in 7.0.3 and if sound volume is better again?

Should be ok but my personal preference is to wipe at each milestone release such as an rc our full version release.

Can somebody tell me is it worth to change to RC1 from Nightlies? Is it any reason at all? What is the difference of them:not in theoretically-I know this is a semi-stable,Nightlies are "only" experimental- but in fact:are there any major differencies between Nightly #112 and RC1?
no reason to change.. you can use the nightly on which the RC is based and it will be the same thing..

battery drain
I noted significant battery drain while data connection in on.
While on data connection battery drop from 100% to 90% in 2 hours with moderate use. I used battery monitor widget. With screen on power usage shoot up to 220mA with screen off power usage is 50mA
While phone on screen off / ideal battery usage is 7mA on data connection.
while data connection off - battery usage 120 - 130mA with moderate use. and 1 - 6mA in screen off.
I'm using battery monitor widget. Please confirm this.

Well m using Zulugen which is based on this stable version...
I was suggested to use default kernel...
Using that I found there is no drain with data connection on...
I found a case like yours on Tiamat strangely...
So m sticking to [email protected] 1206...
It works like butter...no drain...cos i was like sync my contacts with fb...downloading a few stuff and 2 hours later battery was down by 3-4% if i remember right...hadnt even calibrated battery...
So i would suggest use default kernel

Is there a recommended radio and hboot from the CYANOGENMOD Team which we should use?

I'm used to sense and missing one thing. When having several accounts for contacts sense automatically found linked contacts. Is a feature like this here also available?

Radio: No use which ever you want, just be careful and don't flash a ril file with it cause cyanogen has his own custom and the stock one will cause problems.
Hboot: You can use every hboot, but the extra lib of the 2.... isn't supported, this would lead to no harm, but the space is wasted.
I would recommend you the one in my signature.
When you're using the revolutionary/alpharev (6.....) hboot I recommend you to switch, some problems with this hboot are confirmed!

[ROM]MyTouch4G Slide CM7 SelfKang Alphafied Number 1 (11/1) - 2.3.7

CyanogenMod is a free, community built distribution of Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) which greatly extends the capabilities of your phone.
This is an alpha release, but you should find it stable for everyday use.
THIS IS NOT HTC SENSE AND NEVER WILL BE. DO NOT ASK ABOUT IT IN THIS THREAD. THANK YOU.
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
Visit the CHANGELOG for a full list of changes and features!
All source code will eventually available at the CyanogenMod Github!
Kernel source code is availible at kornyone's github!
If you'd like to to contribute to CyanogenMod, checkout our Gerrit instance.
INSTRUCTIONS:
- First time flashing CM 7 to your MyTouch4g Slide (or coming from another ROM)?
1. Unlock/root your device and install Clockwork Recovery via ROM Manager.
2. Do a Nandroid backup!
3. WIPE
4. Install the ROM
5. Optionally install the Google Addon
- Upgrading from earlier CM7 or nightly build?
1. Do a Nandroid Backup!
2. Install the ROM (your Google apps will be backed up automatically)
HOW TO REPORT BUGS OR PROBLEMS?
- Was it a hard reboot? Get me the file "/proc/last_kmsg".
- Was it a soft reboot or a "boot loop"? Run "adb logcat" and get me the full output.
- Pastebin links preferred
- Please use the issue tracker whenever possible!
*Coming soon* Please visit the CyanogenMod Wiki for step-by-step installation walkthroughs and tons of other useful information.

Thank you to EVERYONE involved in helping with testing, coding, debugging and documenting! Enjoy!
The current buglist:
- Recording in HD Video is limited to 720p currently.
- Camera zoom is limited to 2X.
- Certain browser issues, such as reported crashes and flash 11 movie compatibility issues. (CyanogenMod).
Other than those (relatively) minor bugs, this rom is perfect.
New Changes
- New release SelfKang1.
- All the good stuff in CM 7.1 / AOSP 2.3.7. I suggest looking at the official changelog for more information.
Please note flashing someone else's kernel may ruin your experience with this rom and I advise against it. This rom was a joint effort between Kmobs, Bumblebee, cretin45, toastcfh, defer, myself, and the rest of the CM team.
I am one of the newest members of TeamDouche (CyanogenMod), brought in to grow and maintain device support for the MyTouch4G Slide (Doubleshot).

The official recovery was the first thing I flashed.
Odd that this would be necessary, but it appears your suggestion was spot on. Never had to do that for any of the other devices I've got running CM7. Thanks!
