[Q] Extreme Light 6.1 ROM for Car-Net access - Touch Pro, Fuze General

I have a Touch Pro connected to my car navigation/tv screen and control it using a bluetooth mouse.
What I need is the lightest possible rom that will give me telephone, Mobile Office, and internet access.
I want to optimise speed by having the fewest installed applications.
What is the most stripped down and fastest (stable) 6.1 ROM out there?
Thanks in advance!

you can try this ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=625639
this is actually made to run android from WM so its as light as it can get keeping all hardware functional
get the core version which includes stripped WM 6.1 only

Great, I'll give it a go!
Thanks

Aleemz, How did you connect your touch Pro to your car's navigation/tv screen and what kind of car is it? This sounds like an interesting mod.

Well, better late than never is what they say! I must apologise for not visiting this thread earlier.
I was using the OEM TV-out cable which terminates in RCA (red, white, yellow) terminals. The car is an Audi Q7 with TV tuner which has RCA Aux inputs.

Widcomm/Broadcom Bluetooth stack for HTC Touch Pro

Does any have a Widcomm or Broadcom Bluetooth stack for the HTC Touch Pro? Has anyone been successful in using a Widcomm or Broadcom stack on the Touch Pro? The M$ one is insufficient/too difficult to work with for my current needs.
What are your current needs? The stack on the TP is massively improved.
bluetooth needs
I am working on an under cover voice recognition driven data collection program. it uses a nuance voice recognition engine. I need to use a bluetooth headset for audio in and audio out. We are writing it in native c++. now that we have a Touch Pro we finally have a phone with a fast enough processor and enough ram to handle the app, but we are having some difficulty tapping into the ms stack and thought that working with a Broadcom stack might be easier. the app works great with a wired headset but we need a bluetooth one to be more inconspicuous.
Interesting app... I take it you're not planning on a general commercial implementation since having to include a new bt stack would make it less marketable. I'm not aware of any Widcomm development on this device but I'm somewhat new to it myself and not fully up to speed on what's going on in terms of development efforts yet.
will this work with the vogue?
BT Stack upgrade or mod needed.
Please don;t flame me for responding to an older post, but I need help. I have a HTC TP with Verizon with
Long story short, I purchased 2 (Not at the same time) Pioneer GPS units: AVIC F500BT (Later sold it due to this inconvenient problem) and currently have a AVIC X910BT. The problem I had with the older unit (500BT) is that when my phone establishes connection for the 1st tie to the unit, it reboots it. the phone stays on all the while and BT is enabled. After the unit reboots and re-pairs with the phone, it reboots again until the BT is disabled on the phone. Since this happened, I sold the F500BT and purchased a newer, with more features model with a different firmware. However, I'm experiencing the exact same problem. I tried the native WM 6.1 Verizon ROM and 3 different 6.5 ROMS which have the same effect on the unit.
Ok, with that being said, I've been told to come here for a BT Stack for my phone that is compatible with the unit. The Units run WinCE.

Bluetooth stereo headset bugs (handsfree mode fail & device.exe crash)

I've noticed these similar (and likely related) bugs in a lot of places and have been living with them for six months, but I have never seen a fix. Surely there are others with this issue that might be able to fix it.
Issue #1: When you connect a Bluetooth stereo headset to a Windows Mobile device, using the Wireless Stereo AND Hands Free profiles, the wireless stereo feature works fine, but when attempting to answer a call, hands free fails. The hands free icon shows on the Phone screen, no audio is heard, and after a few seconds the headset shuts off and the icon goes away.
Issue #2: When you connect a Bluetooth stereo headset to a Windows Mobile device using the Wireless Stereo profile and are watching video in Windows Media Player, if a call comes in, the program device.exe crashes and Windows Media Player will often need to be restarted. Device.exe will often crash at other times as well.
I have seen numerous reports of this problem, and near universal reports of it on the Dell BH200 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones. It seems to require A2DP, and be very common among HTC devices. I have had the same problem on the AT&T Tilt (Kaiser) and AT&T Fuze (Touch Pro/Rafael) under Windows Mobile 6. I can confirm the headset works as it is supposed to on Palm OS (Palm Centro) in headset mode, and that it was also able to work as a headset on the T-Mobile MDA (Wizard) running Windows Mobile 5 (which does not support A2DP).
In all cases, I am talking about devices using stock ROMs.
If you have seen the problem, please list the device, OS, and bluetooth device used. If you have a bluetooth stereo headset that does not exhibit the issue on devices that are known to have this problem, list that as well, so owners of devices with this issue can consider alternative headsets.
If you have any technical knowledge of what causes the issue, please share it. If you have heard of any workarounds, please share it.
Thank you all.
I have the Samsung i-640 running WM6 and have the same issue with The Dell BH200 not doin Hands free mode and the whole shut down of device happens too ..very Frustrating .
I tried using the Nokia BH 100 which does only Mono [Hands Free] and i get $hit loads of static noise but the Device doesnt Shutdown.
Heya, I have the AT&T Fuze and I also own the BH200. I have the same exact issue you have (issue #1). I have no idea why it does this but I've been trying to get support from dell for the longest time with no luck.
I think the problem lies in the MS BT stack. It does an automatic pin guessing thing which might cause the bh200 to not work properly. I have tested the fuze on the BT2020 (by Jabra) and it works perfectly. I just recently bought the moto s9 (still waiting for it to arrive) but I would prefer to use the dell bh200 if possible.
Check my sig for the information you're looking for.
Dell sends you to PC support when you try to get support on the device, since it's usually sold as an accessory with computers, but they refuse to offer actual support on the actual device, as though they knew nothing about it or how it works. I asked them if it was a rebranded version of another company's headset, and they wouldn't say.
I tried to get help from dell already, and they're as much help with it as telemarketers...
Similar problem
Maybe this is a stereo headset bug...
Maybe this is designed behavior, but it is typical of why people HAVE to hack the crap out of WM to be happy with it:
I have a ATT Tilt.
Behavior same under WM6 and WM6.1
I have a Jabra BT610s (stereo headphone with A2DP, AVRCP, handsfree, & wireless stereo profiles).
If the Tilt is paired with both wireless stereo & hands-free, then even if Win Media is running or playing, the hands-free profile is selected when powering on the headphones. Then, the stupid ATT Bluetooth settings are so buried that it requires about 30 secs of sylus picking, poking, and prodding to get it set to wireless stereo.
Is there a way to set the Tilt to default to wireless stereo, is there a helper app for quick-switching this?
Also, there are not infrequent dropouts in audio over bluetooth, even with the phone setting on the desk 24" away from the headphones as I type this.
All the remote control features DO work with this setup, but unfortunately there's no remote control function for profile switching.
Thanks,
I am using a stock ROM and I don't have the above problems. I am using a motorolla hb820 headset. I also use an LG Style i headset, and no problems either. I use Core Player and it plays fine even after a call. I only use WMP to play music and my X7510 haven't froze yet while playing music when a call comes in.
Hi
I am using Lg KE590 but I am not using the device so I have not gone through the problem. Is it for all the handset ?

I have several configurations with problems to report below:
1) HTC P3600i (WM6 stock ROM) + Dell BH200 => issue #1 (never try issue #2)
2) HTC P3600i (WM6 stock ROM) + Dopod HS01 clip-on BT stereo headset => All functions work fine, no problem switching between profiles
3) Dopod S300 (WM5 stock ROM) + Dell BH200 => stereo music & phone call works but music switch back to the phone after end of a call
4) Dopod S300 (WM5 stock ROM) + Dopod HS01 clip-on BT stereo headset => All functions work fine, no problem switching between profiles
5) Nokia 5610 Xpress Music + Dell BH200 => All functions work fine, no problem switching between profiles
6) Nokia 5610 Xpress Music + Dopod HS01 clip-on BT stereo headset => All functions work fine, no problem switching between profiles
Summary: I tend to believe that the problem is specific to Dell BH200 and some of HTC's or WM OS combination as Dell BH200 works fine with Nokia phones and Dopod BT headphones always work with any phones we have.
Reporting in, Im using Motorola S305 Stereo BT. No above issues whatsoever with 2 devices HTC Kaiser and Touch Pro. Both with stock or cooked ROM. I have a strong feeling its related to hardware prob on Dell BH200.
I have a touch pro that refuse to play nice with my AVIC-D3 head unit...I must pick either headset profile or wireless stereo profile, but not both. I remember coming across a solution called a2dptoggle. It let you switch between the 2 easily (in wm agenda page), but try it out to see if that's a solution or not.
Issue #1 using HTC Touch Pro and Dell BH200
Because of that issue i can't use the hands free function at all.
Only way i can use my headset is:
If i uncheck Hands free from partnership settings, then an incoming call mutes headset, i take out the phone have my conversation manually, after hangup the music plays on.

What would it Take to make a Windows mobile Car Stereo

So I would kill to have a windows mobile based car stereo all around - one that can benefit from regular rom updates and software made avialable for the platform. Example would be, say all the features of say the touch pro/ATT FUZE, with a built in amp and maybe dvd player attached to a 7" touchscreen...
It's not hard to get a screen that matches the resolution of the newer Touch pros at WVGA. The audio can be routed through a small amp - GPS is already built, so is mp3, attach bluetooth keyboard, bluetooth OBDII, FM Radio, etc etc. Not sure how the DVD would be wired in though
The core of my question is, do the touch screens used in cars like this one have the capability to work in this application
http://www.lilliputweb.net/ts629.html
It has a 4 wire resistive touch screen and wvga resolution...
Is it possible to somehow (even if dissassembly and hard wiring were an option) to get the output from the TP main board onto this display. I would imagine the signal strength from the TP is kinda low compared to the output from a computer so that might pose a problem, but i want to believe that at some point the required inputs of this screen for display are similar to those on the TP vga and the output from the TP display for touch screen functionality is similar to the out of the LCD display for touch screen functionality?
What do you guys think.

Check out this site if you haven't already. I have been looking to do this for a LONG time.
http://store.mp3car.com/
Having a touch screen in-dash video screen which could connect to a windows phone, and somehow "tap into" the touch-sensitive controls of the phone would be a dream. I currently use a touch pro and I have a pioneer in-dash dvd/cd player which is a touch screen. I also have the video out cable for the touch pro and use it to watch slingbox in the car as well as use the phones gps. I constantly find myself touching the screen to control the phones functions with no success as the cable only sends the video and audio into the composite input, it’s such a hard habit to break! I’m sure eventually the phone will be fully integrated, I guess until then all we can do is dream.
No way to do it without a carputer. No way to hook a touch screen display directly to the TP.
Even with a carputer, the closest you'll get to touch screen capability is using MyMobiler (or similar) and it will be laggy as hell. You could connect the video/audio from the TP to the monitor, but there's no way to get touch screen working.
If you want to use the phone as stereo, just get 3.5mm -> RCA adapters and hook it into your CD player's AUX input.
Using a TP in the manner the OP stated is way over complicating things. Just get a carputer and be done with it.
re:
Most of the features will work through PAN, so you wouldn't have to touch the phone at all.
The idea I had, was to have wireless in the carputer and just transfer the songs I wanted from my pc to the car. I would have wake on lan enabled, so the pc wasn't running all the time. Plus, there are soft, shutdown modules if the voltage gets too low.
There is a ton of possibilites, and if you are good at programming, microsoft has the sdk available for sync.
Also, I have a lot of internal contacts for stereo equipment, for high-end. Usually 40%-60% off retail.
Imagine getting a better subwoofer than the JL audio W7 for half the price

Clarification: Does the x7500/7510 work as a phone?

I am looking for an upgrade from the Universal. These two devices are looking about the closest (or the touch pro 2).
I use the universal without earphones or bluetooth, as a phone, is that possible with the 75x0? Or must you have an attachment?
(the universal had two dedicated speakers for mono 'phone' mode, and two others for stereo speakerphone).
you need attachment, you can't just use it as a phone (ie hold it to your ear) it gets real annoying for me.
To be honest, practically it can work as a phone even w/o any attachment. It has two stereo louder speakers and one microphone on its front panel. But the thing is that it does not have the speaker like in the regular phone - only louder speaking mode is available, therefore, everybody will hear you during your phone conversations. Or you should find out your "secret" place for talking with people.
BT or cord attachment can solve this problem and let you use this brick as a phone, but, believe me, you will forget about regular use...
This is real "another brick in the wall..."
Now I'm just trying to test this relation 7510 + cord headset replacing my Nokia E71 (just to test). Finally, I'm sure that I will return to Nokia soon - it's absolutely impossible to use 7510 as a regular working phone for everyday use.
I'm using the X7500 and now X7510 since 3 years as phone and Im happy with. OK, you need a BT headset or BT carkit - but no other phone in the world can offer the features a X75xx has.

Interesting that someone would love to use the x75x0 as a regular phone. The more recent WM phones (Touch HD2, Toshiba TG01) being hailed have screens almost as big as the x75x0. When I read their users' wish list for these modern phones, they seem to be describing something like the x75x0. Something tells me that a re-release of the x7510 with some tweaks could be a winner! Desired improvements: 1GHz processor, WVGA (800x480) resolution, skin cover for the main device (without hardware keyboard).

People think these screens are as big?
I have the universal, which is a 4" screen, and when I look at any phone in a shop at the moment, the size of the screen is much smaller.
I use my X7510 as a phone (and internet browser, agenda, tomtom and mp3 player)
The WM 6.5.3 interface is a huge improvement in the phone usefulness and that makes Windows mobile slowly getting to become a proper phone-software.
The contact images (the faces of your contacts) are of course still microscopic.
I live in one of the no cellphone while driving w/o a headset states, so I take my blueant z9i headset wherever I go anyway, so if youre the same then I'd say yes, it works perfectly and reliably as a phone, as well as an internet tablet, a messenger device, a audio-video player, an ebook reader, a GPS Navigator, an SNES emulator, (haven't tried the playstation emulator yet), as well as whatever else of the boatload of uses you can find for it.

What is a 'WWW' MCU? Anyone using USB Audio?

Hi,
I run a car audio firm, we have a PX5-based unit a client ordered.. The MCU version is "MTCD_WWW_V2.54b_2" .. Our goal is USB audio working proper, among a few other things (better interface if possible, better apps, better SQ stuff)
I haven't seen a "www" mcu anywhere? It's sold as an EONON GA7150A..
Anyone know anything about this MCU? If it's compatible with any others or anything like that? I definitely would like to root it, update the ROM to something better, get rid of the "Windows Mobile" part of it which was, IIRC, advertised as the ability to 'boot' between Android and Windows but is actually just a different interface theme from the home screen.. Also want to do whatever we can for sound quality and smooth experience.
I should note that, as a car audio company (in Canada), we are seriously considering producing our own Android units.. likely 'producing' would consist of getting units like a px5, branding them and primarily, having a SOLID software system built for automotive use. I think a lot of these units are a great start and are ALMOST there for a lot of things but..some of the interface stuff is rushed, not translated great, etc.
What I'd like to see is an Android unit, priced like these ones usually are, but with *really* good class A interfaces. The kind of experience you'd expect on a Samsung phone or a Pioneer headunit. I personally have been using my Samsung Tab S 8.4" in my car as my 'head unit' (paired with a Pioneer single din for a hardware volume knob and some easy control) for along time and I would not want to ever go back.
Here's a short video of the interface and version info..
My eventual goal is getting USB audio working decently. It does work for most Android apps but the volume control only controls the internal audio chip, and the radio app routes through the internal audio chip as well.. I assume perhaps other sources like DVD and line-in would as well, I haven't verified but I will pretty quick here. I plan on making another video showing what works/what doesn't/how it works.
I'm hoping for a software only solution but am happy to hack the hardware if needed. I'm using a Behringer UCA-222 as a "DAC" (same as 202 but red in color) but won't actually be using the DAC in it but only it's optical output into an Audison Bit 8.9 DSP/Amplifier.
There's the possibility of routing the px5's audio output RCA's to the Behringer's Input and 'monitoring' that input to the optical output via software but that doesn't solve the fact the volume control does nothing for apps when using the USB.. Eg, youtube plays through USB/optical fine but volume control doesn't change the volume..Radio plays through the px5's audio chip and volume control controls that, and shows on screen.. I could force everything to play thru the px5 audio chip and then monitor it to optical but that defeats the purpose of what I'm trying to do completely (full digital audio to the amplifier).
I'm willing to sacrifice some sources re-routed like that though, eg, the radio would be fine as it already sounds ****. Aux in also doesn't sound great usually and won't be used in this car anyway. DVD would be nice to have optical out as well but
I'm currently still searching for a schematic/block diagram for these devices, this would probably answer a lot of my questions like.. I'm curious whether audio from any of the other onboard devices (radio, dvd, aux in) go through Android at all or whether they're directly sourced to the output chip.
If it's the latter - that sucks - but I wouldn't be surprised. I have read the thread about the hardware hack to allow android control of the audio chip but I don't see this giving me the functionality I need. If it is wired like this, and I can get the other components (eg. radio chip) to output their audio to Android, digitally somehow and have Android push it to the USB audio device that'd be cool.
Is no one else using a USB dac on any of these units? I have many years experience coding, hacking, electronic engineering, tinkering, etc. including Android but I haven't done many of these Android Head Units.. A lot of times we use tablets instead! But this client wanted OEM look..so we thought we'd give it a shot.
The difference between the audio quality from the internal DAC and the USB audio device's optical routed directly to the DSP (digital to the power amp) is definitely noticeable, even with there being very little noise picked up in our interconnects.
Hi,
I can help you only with WWW MCU,

tha same question (#1956) i read in this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...-head-unit-discussion-thread-t3573881/page196
it should be KLD (klyde), you can read the answer in post #1959
Thanks for the pointer.
Hi,
I uses the newsmy carpad since 2 yrs with android box with wince interface and same issue of radio, bt and dvd being analog while the android side of things is 100% digital output via the included hdmi.
I put aside my alpine pxa-h900 and installed the helix dsp pro with auto switching of input with priority on digital input and use internet radio apps, android bt apps and plugged in an usb portable drive for dvd/cd.
Cheers.
