Aosp calendar force close/one way sync. - Captivate General

Hi all.
I tried installing the Google calendar apk on to cognition 9.1.1. I grabbed the files from the cognition environment aosp port.
I noitce that I only get one way sync (cloud to app) and if I go to Menu->Calendars, I get a force close.

Syncing facebook contacts

So I installed the bionix rom and for some reason it doesn't allow me to sync my Facebook contacts with my phone contacts. I've tried from the Facebook app
and it doesn't even have the option anymore. I've also tried from the accounts section and when I click on add it just goes back to the accounts screen. Please help!

It's gone in 2.3.X. HTC and Samsung somehow still do it via Sense and Touchwiz which is why their 2.3.X. phones still do it. Native Android, not so much.

Try this app: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nloko.android.syncmypix&feature=search_result
Should do the trick.
Facebook contact sync does not work with Gingerbread at all. The functionality was purposely removed in 2.3. Your only option is a 3rd party app like the one mentioned above.

"Unfortunately, Google calendar sync has stopped"

This is the message I get every time I try to sync my phones calendar with my Google account calendar. No appointments are showing up on my phone. Everything else such as e-mail and contacts sync just fine. I was on NoSympathy ROM.
Hard reset didn't work. I even flashed stock unrooted ROM via Odin. Now pretty much back to the phones original condition.
Still not syncing and getting the same message. So it's either the hardware (didnt think this could be a hardware problem) or a problem with my Google account (then why would email and contacts sync no problem?)
I'm stumped. Should I take the phone to the store?

Calendar stopped syncing on TF700...

I use Google Calendar on all my devices, desktop and mobile. Recently my stock TF700 refuses to sync and shows only local entries - although I can see its entries on my other devices. I have other Android devices, for example a NookColor running CM10, and a Nexus 7 and the calendar syncing works just fine with them. Very strange. It used to work.
My Google account is set up correctly, and I'm driving myself crazy trying to find something in Settings that is different from my other devices...
Any suggestions?
Derek

Are you using the stock one or the updated one form google play. If the latter the sync breaks due to incompatibility with the asus sync app so you will need to uninstall the updates. Try that first.
If not try wiping the data on calendar from settings and forcing a resync from your google sync settings.
I use the update from the Play Store - you have to convert it to a system app to get it to work properly...

[Q] Replacing the Contacts App

I'm looking for a way to replace my Samsung GS3's contacts app with an ASOP style app (CM would be best for me). I used to run CM but through a long story my phone was returned to stock and had the 4.3 OTA installed on it. I'm stuck now.
I managed to replace the Samsung Email app with the CM 10.2 version of same and thanks to Google releasing their Calendar app on the Play Store I just disabled S Planner (hate it) and use that. The only one left is the god-awful contacts app. I tried using the same process I did for the email app, which was to wipe data and remove the Samsung email apps accounts and then use Titanium Backup to uninstall it. I then went and put the Email.apk file from CyanogenMod 10.2 in its place. Worked like a charm for email but the contacts app keeps telling me there is an error with the package when I do this.
I also tried using both Contacts.apk and ContactsProvider.apk but that didn't work either. Anyone have an ideas? The problem is no matter what I do the system won't recognize Contacts.apk as an app and list it.
Any help would be appreciated.
I'm pretty sure the contacts app relies on the phone app as well to work properly. You might be better off trying to find a contacts app from the store that is similar to CM
