I'm on CM7.1 #39 for NexusS 4G with Netarchy's 1.3.5 cfs and every time I initiate a GTalk video chat of Skype both videos come in for about 5 seconds and then everything freezes for about 5 more seconds and the device reboots. Has anyone solved the issue?
Update:
I just tried lowering the frequency from 1400Mhz to 1300Mhz and it worked stable. I'm not undervolted and 1450mV seems to work fine for the 1400Mhz for everything but gtalk video and Skype 2.0. I bumped it up slowly to 1500mV and still not able to have it running and not freeze and reboot the phone. Oh well, I guess I'll have to lower it to 1300Mhz to video chat. Governor setting played no effect. All but 1400Mhz worked. Maybe I'll try the new 1.3.6 netarchy's.
I think it has to do with both shooting video and viewing video which takes so much out of the processor. Kind of a good way to test your undervolting stability.
Bump. Anyone?

There is a modified gapps from I think may.... Flash that and it should work.... Its in the same area where you download the regular gapps just search for it

You mean gtalk2?

Got it solved. See op.
I actually got it narrowed down to temperature which is often too high and the phone reboots when using such demanding apps like gtalk or Skype with video. To help solve that I put some profiles in SetCPU and lowered speed based on temperature. Works just fine now.

Hi lads can anyone explain what is keeping the device from shooting 1080p in 3d?
Sent from my LG-P920 using XDA Premium App
It's the lgsoftware... the prozessor is able to prozess 1080p videos in 3d.
It's only a matter of time...
My optimus 3D wrote it with xda app
Isn't it a restriction of the current 3D? as it seems odd there is 3x 3D phones, this, evo and the sharp and they all only do 3D @ 720p and the Sharp has 8mb cameras in also and the 3D snaps are restricted @ 2mp .
I suspect that the restriction affords us some extra battery life because processing that amount of dadta will not only saturate rvery bus in the phone and fill the memory rapidly, it will also hammer the battery life.

According to TI we can't. The only thing that might give us hope is that our chipset can record 3d with both cameras at 5mp not just at 2 or 3mp as it is now.
Aha, only the 4460 supports 1080p 3D. This is probably due to the higher clock speed though of 1.5ghz so if we eventually can overclock it could maybe be done. That is making the assumption that these SOCs are "binned" similarly to regular desktop cpus where all 44xx are 4460s but the ****tier batches recieve the designation 4430 and are sold at a lower clock speed.

Can you really see that much difference between 1080p and 720p? Personally I don't think the rather tiny quality differences would be worth the increase in file size that the 1080 quality video would bring, not to mention the reduction in battery life.
only we really need the phone to do is to record at 1080p which it already does, but putting each lens information into each side of it, just like the 720p does.. its not really 2X 1080p that gets recorded. its one 1080p cut in two
I find it weird that all the 3d phones have dual >5mp camera's but cant shoot abve 3mp...this makes me think the evo3d and the sharp have a second 2mp camera instead of a 5. And the optimus 3d got a second 3mp camera.
Prove me wrong...no one did research on this matter as far as i am aware.
I definitely can see a difference between 720p and 1080p especially when I watch it on a large screen(>50inches) and about the battery - if you would need 720p and less battery drain you just could switch between two of them but it would be very handy to have 3d full hd camera in your pocket

If you cant tell the difference between 720 and 1080 you have eye problems and should get them looked at.

as i found that my htc sensation xe running adreno220 1.5ghz compare to my gf samsung galaxy s2 i9100g which running PowerVR SGX540 at 1.2 ghz only but the result is it faster and smoother than mine== lol
I had HTC Evo3d with adreno 220 and now i have Galaxy s2 G version with powervr.i cant talk about gaming but in quadrant i get 61 Fps with s2 while it was about half of that with evo.its smoother overall in graphics.i get 60fps in nenamark 1 and 36.9 in nenamark 2.keep in my that these results are on gingerbread.ICS surly will raise them

is power VR in the sgs2 overclocked just like galaxy nexus?
for the nenamark2 results:
my sensation XE 42 fps (266mhz, downclocked by htc)
Samsung galaxy s2 with mali400 59 fps (300 mhz,4core version)
galaxy nexus with OCed powerVR 540 24 fps (400mhz, on the 720p screen)
Galaxy note with mali400 51 fps (300 mhz i güreş on the 720p screen)
When the XE is overclocked to 300 mhz i have 49 and for the 320 mhz i have 53 fps values..
So i guess 37 fps with powerVR is pretty good..

Wrong. The Galaxy Nexus is stock at 300Mhz. Google downclocked the CPU & GPU...
At 384 Mhz (the way the chip was designed) it scores in nenamark 29FPS.
At 512 Mhz it scores 40 FPS.

We need to test two phones at same resolution and Ghz on the processors but, always will be a advantage because a processor is not only the speed that is clocked at, it does have a build construction tecnology expressed in Nm (22nm for example for the newers) and a cache size and speed...
The exynos in one side has 1mb of cache and the Snapdragon S3 has a 512mhz but clocked at higher frequency... Also the TiOmap 4460 from galaxy nexus has a 1mb of L2 cache size...
these are things to take in mind when we compare GPUs because not only the GPU does all the work...
Also, can we remember that a phone with 512mb of ram has only 384 capable to use? because the rest of the memory is used as Vram, so the speed and size of the ram is important also...

If you want to compare these two gpus the colosest to fair comparison is comparing sensation xe and Huawei p1. P1 has SGX540 GPU paired with a 1.5ghz CPU and 920x560px resolution, its nenamark is 36.7 on ics 4.0.3. Pretty low, maybe it was nenamark 2 but It's still less than Adreno 220 at qhd resolution.
Hello guys,
This is a benchmark app for android i made about a week ago with Unity.
I was curious about the scores you guys get with this benchmark app.
My nexus 5 gives me about 11000.
It would be great if you guys post your score below, it really helps me out. Also can you guys check if the scores are consistent?
Maybe i can add charts in the app if I have enough device scores.

Samsung Galaxy s2 GT9100

Bit lower than my previous result. This result is with Devil kernel devil2 2.0.1. It seems the newer mali drivers of the agni kernel used previously makes quite a difference.
