lost data

Lost ALL data on my XDA II. Now my PC recognises it as a divverent device. Anybody know how I can get the info from the old ActiveSync profile moved to the new one? There's no backup file. PLEASE reply to [email protected]
well do you mean the files ?
the contacts appointments and note and such ?
anyway all the activesync stuff are located in
documents and settings\USERNAME\Application Data\microsoft\activesync
and also in documents and settings\USERNAME\my pocketpc documents or what ever it's called
but if you dident backup anything then most programs will be requiring a reinstall

Outlook-Help Please???

I am very new to the whole Palm thing but not to the computer thing. Anyway... I have had a regular cell phone for years of course but I really wanted to get my msn mail on my phone and also have a date book ect. So I got the crackberry but the only way I could get the MSN mail was to sign in to the web and go about it that way. What I was looking for was for the phone to just tell me I had a new message. I do have the paid version of MSN so I am able to check it through outlook on my laptop. Anyway... Thanks you do guys I have been able to at least get Microsoft Live onto my Trio 750 and as soon as I got it I upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.0 (thinking that might have been a mistake now). How in the world do I import all of my Outlook Express contacts from my laptop to this damn phone. Also is there anyway I can set-up outlook on the phone to check my various accounts (msn, Verizon, work)? Please please help and again I am sorry I am sure this is a neeewbe question.
Thanks again,
Glenn
Im not sure if you have already done this, but did you install and set up activesync. Activesync is a program that interfaces your treo with your laptop and there is also an option in activesync to save your contacts from outlook to you treo. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/activesync/activesync45.mspx Go there to download activesync 4.5, it is the latest one. Make sure you scroll towards the bottom of the page and click on the link that says "Worldwide English" Hope this answers you question.

Adding Contracts to WM6.1 Device from WinXP or Vista??

hey i just switched from my old LG VX8300 to a Verizon VX6800 that i'm using on cricket, and i right now i have the daunting task of switching over all my contacts to this new phone...
that's over 160 something contacts i gotta transfer.
now my VX8300 has no USB port, and i'm not about to buy the cable to get the contracts trough QPST.
so it seems i have only two options. manuall add them, or if thre was some kind of miracle program that i could install on the VX8300 trough a microsd card, so that i could transfer my contacts trough there...
and i don't think such a program exists, so i am asking you guys if you all know how i can hook up my VX6800 to my PC, and manually add contacts to it trough my computer. i can type much faster on my computer, so that is my "best option" as i see it right now.
i have both winxp and vista. the "sync" center works, but it has no options to munally "Add" contacts to my phone...

Try Activesyc or its vista cousin
that's what i just said... activesync doesn't have such an option...
it only lets me "sybchronize" my contacts from my hotmail, that's useless.
i need to be able to manually add them

You can use MyMobiler to control your HTC from your PC.
If you can extract your contacts in csv format from your old phone, you can also use ppcpimbackup to restore them with some minor manipulation see Here
Hope this helps !
it didn't say there how to "control" my PC, it only said how to extract contacts from one SMART PHONE to another...
my previous phone is not a smart phone. it does have a microSD slot, but it is not a smart phone, and it DOESN'T have windows mobile...

[Q] WM5 to Android: How to Transfer Contacts?

Hey! So I want to migrate my contacts from my Treo 700wx running Windows Mobile 5 to my new myTouch 3G. One problem: I can't find my Treo's data transfer cable. Is there any other way I can sync my contacts to Outlook?
If you know other methods in doing this, please share.
Thanks!
use Sprite Migrate http://www.spritesoftware.com/products/migrate/how-does-it-work-
You can also try using a CSV file, upload to google/Gmail and then on your new phone, good luck...
