Paid Apps from Market - Captivate General

I have been trying out alot of apps in the market like launcherpro and other quality apps. I also like to reflash my phone once or twice a week, be it cognition or jh7 or screwing up kernels etc....
If I start buying apps off the market, when i sign back into the market from a new rom, will i have all my paid apps there? or will they all be gone like my free ones?
If they disappear, how do you guys get them working again where they update on the market?
thanks

When you buy apps from the market it will stay saved on the google account you used

it keeps a record of your paid apps, sign into your gmail account then accept market terms go to download section of the market and all paid apps are listed i have flashed numerous roms and it recorded all my paid apps, alternatively you can use titanium backup to backup all your apps along with the data and your system setting also

thanks... just bought launcherpro plus via paypal... and folder organizer.... Can't believe the developer was able to make container icons showing whats inside the folder like the iphone...
I am not a fan of the iphone, but always thought those icon folders that show you whats inside are super cool.

so i have 70 apps on the x10, assume i lost the phone? how can i back up x10a? like the iphone all you have to do is connect it to itunes, how can i do that on x10? what apps?
as far as i kno your market downloads follow your account, so if u lost your phone, get a new one use your same account and clickk downloads in the market and it should still show all your previously downloaded apps. i think.

Best Method of Backing up your phone?

So what's the best way of backing up your device after you root? I used ROM manager... (not sure what all this backs up) It gave me a
cache
data
datadata
nandroid.md5
system
files...
So if i end up bricking/soft bricking my phone will this restore my phone to how it was at that time?
I Downloaded Titanium Backup, but from the looks of it you have to manually back up different resources? I uninstalled it.
I backup my Launcher settings using ADW, there is a option in settings and I believe TW and LauncherPro have same. That is the worst part of reapplying a ROM or reverting to stock IMHO.
For Apps I just use AppBrain. Keep my list synced.
Would love to know if there are other options for other info like all the different Logins for FB, Google, Twitter, and other services.
Again I am pretty new to this platform and eager to learn and help.
Is there a way to make a image of a fresh install or ROM of my system once I have all set the way I like. a Baseline of sorts..

I think that's what ROM manager does.. you have to root to use it though
I use titanium backup pro worth the money. Great app it will backup app data and system data can be linked to a dropbox account and will store info there or on SD you choose you need root for general functionality but for backups I think it's hands down the winner in my book.....

remember.. there are no dumb questions. LOL
How do you then reinstall using Titanium?
Flash a Rom of choice and ?? does it make a image ? seems it backs up individual apps and settings.
Going a week of having the phone and I almost have it tweaked to the way I want with apps and such. Finally got Firefox installed on it tonight and Beta 4 on PC and syncing away.
I would be so much happier to have 2.2 on here so I could do Chrome for droid. But .. guess its price I pay for living in the sticks and having US Hell...

[Q] Restoring free apps automatically in Google Market after reset

I just wiped my TF101 more or less voluntarily... I have witnessed before that in Google market only my PAID apps seem to be restored automatically; is there any way to also get the free apps at least listed? I always forget which apps I had installed
Thanks everyone! Even a pointer to other threads is appreciated since I couldn't find anything.
EDIT: It is especially annoying for programs like ROM Manager and Documents To Go where the free version is required before the (paid) key can be used
Well if you use Titanium backup you can backup all your apps so when you wipe your device you can restore them all quickly and easily.
I dont use Google to backup my apps, much easier to use Titanium.
One other app that is really good is Mybackup you can backup your apps that way as well along with many other features but most are really designed for a phone.
Hope that helps

Yeah, I know. I have Ti Backup but as I stated in my post I wiped more or less voluntarily... That's why I was wondering if there is some kind of Google magic that can be used as a backup-backup So basically it was my fault to not make a Ti Backup first. Luckily, I don't have any important data on the TF!
For me it restores all my downloaded apps automatically by default, weird.
if you log onto market. android.com go under my market account and that lists everyapp you ever downloaded.

I'll check that out, thanks!
I also found an app called AppBrain App Market which apparently also stores the installed app information and can be used to sync with any given device. It's got really good reviews and is free
EDIT: I think I know what might be the reason that I do not get the free apps. When I click on the apps in market.google.com they show up as "installed" although they are not! Either I am missing a setting or it's a bug in the system!

Titanium Backup -Market Doctor

I posted this in the Galaxy S2 forums but unfortunately not many replied, im hoping someone here can be of assistance.
Some apps i have on my phone i haven't got via the Android Market, lots ive got have been apk's ive got on XDA,etc, etc, what im wondering is, seen as i didn't get these apps from the market if i linked the selected apps to the market through the market doctor what is that supposed to do?
I have the Paddy Power app and Betfair app which were were initially on the Android market but for some bizzare reason Android market decided no betting apps were to be allowed to took them off the market so i went elsewhere and downloaded them and installed via root explorer, there are a couple of paid apps i also downloaded for free not something i usually do but whoever created these apps was taking the p*ss with the price they were charging so i refuse to pay over the odds for an app, taking all this into consideration what (if any) advantage would i have by linking these to the market and more's to the point considering i didn't get any of these particular apps from the market would the apps in question still link to the market?

anyone.......??
For apps already removed from the market there's no use forcing a link.
For paid apps if it's not good enough to match its price to you,you still want to use it and want easy updates? :O probably why your question is unanswered..

What about apps though that ive got on XDA and apps like Paddy Power and Betfair which were taken out of the market, can these not be linked to the market?
You cannot link it to market because it does not exist in the market server anymore, it's that simple.

Market doctor is used when apps you did get in the market don't show up. Nothing more. Link to market is really only useful is you manually unlinked an app.
can i backup all my messages with titanium backup and restore them on another ROM?

[Q] Basic Q - where are paid apps stored + backup

As a new Android user with the samsung I have just downloaded and paid for my first App from the Play Store.
How do I back it up in case I need to restore it in the future?
Where is the app stored? I downloaded Sketchbook Pro but when I look in the folder that has been created there are no files!
Uset Titanium Backup for data. Play remembers that you purchased The app, so it probably even restores itself if you eg reset your device.
Sent from my GT-N8000 using XDA Premium HD app
No need to backup, really. Play Store will have it for you when you reset your device so you can install it again and on as many devices as you want as long as they use your email address.
If you are root. go to /system/ app/ this is where they usually are . Some apps use your personal media space to share data.. like in .. /sdcard/android/???? somtimes this is a folder called obb.. Sometimes the /sdcard could be / data/ sorry i do not yet have this tablet but looking forword to getting it . As soon as i get my refund for the two nexus 7 defective devices i sent back..
What about apps like Plague inc. which have in app purchases?

As long as you purchase from Google play and use the same email account, Google will remember the in-app purchases too. I purchased an app that had an in-app option which i also bought, installed the same app on two devices i.e.tablet and phone and had no issues including the in-app aspect.
App backup and restore works fine for me, just backing up the app but not the data.
Aside from the fact that your purchases are tied to your Google account as they said, you can use AirDroid (which is really really handy) to pull APK files from your device and make back-up copies on your PC. Just don't, you know, distribute them.

I use ES Taskmanager and ES Exlorer to backup and access my apps. It allows you to select where you want to save your backups and it gets all the apps I have tried including purchased apps like Sketchbook Pro. Then I like to copy the backed up apps and store them elsewhere for safe keeping in case for some reason that app gets dropped from where I got it or it is replaced with a version I don't like. BTW you don't need to know where the app is ES Taskmanager will find them. Note some apps when you find where they are they are listed with odd names like "vnz-1111881564.apk" for Kindle reader so knowing where they are does not really help all the time but ES Taskmanager shows the name you will recognize.
