Deleting Tmobile myaccount will cause your phone to go into infinite force closes making your phone unusable. If this happens, remove your SD card and SIM card, than reboot. After rebooting you will see your bloatware has returned and your phone will be back to normal. Using titanium backup, however, and "freezing" the app causes no problems and at least stops the background services from running. Deleting Telenav GPS navigator will NOT effect your phone's gps as one thread in general states, and freezing the "backup" system app which runs the tmobile contacts syncing account in titanium backup is good to do a well. Both of these apps leave 2 constant background services running.

Kind of a live and learn thing?
MyAccount is actually a nice app to have. Provides quick access to your account information as opposed to accessing via the web. not sure why you would want to remove it anyhow it's not really bloatware as much as it is a functional app design for tmobile customers.
Tmobile TV is another story.
Your right to a degree
its all depending on the person....I mean I personally never worry about my minute usage so i dont need to constantly check, so for me its useless, and if i really wanted to access my account id just go on my comp.... anyways like i said its all opinion
I deleted my account and just held the power button to reboot. No issues with it coming back and no more my account.

Of course, same as if you deleted Wifi Calling. That's why I hold down power until the phone reboots and then it doesn't force close anymore.
Why delete those? Especially MyAccount, provides useful information for sure!
I deleted My Account 1.0 and now have FC Issues, HELP!
I was trying to get rid of "My Account", AKA T-Mobile My Acount, to keep it from constantantly running in the background, but actually deleted "My Account 1.0", nad not the "My Account 4.?" with Titanium Pro... I tried to freeze them both but the program kept appearing in my task list, so I deleted the My Account 1.0 entry.
Soon as I did, I got a buzz... buzz buzz buzz... the buzzes of death... I now get force closes when ending a phone call, when trying to read SMS, and when trying to view my call log.
This is killing me, and I have no idea how to fix it...
Any experts out there, please help!

Apparently freezing the "Wifi Calling" app dosn't actually work for me, even after rebooting.
Orionsmart, if you remove DriveSmart, does it remove the link for it inside the settings menu?
EDIT: I just went ahead and removed it, was tired of it running constantly without even using it, and the menu item remains. Small price to pay I suppose.

If I backup TeleNAV GPS with Titanium Backup, and then delete it, how can I restore it? I want to have as many MB free in Storage since the reason why I bought the phone was to access the Market and install lots of useful apps
Titanium backup created two files: com.telenav.app.android.telenav-20110314-174328.properties
com.telenav.app.android.telenav-20110314-174328.tar.gz
The tar.gz file has this inside:
\data\com.telenav.app.android.telenav\
inside I see 4 folders:
.\databases
.\files
.\lib
.\shared_prefs
What should I do now if I want to restore the Bloatware?
The custom Odin tar file that krylon posted works great includes root, and already has bloat removed. After I got it flashed on my phone there is a huge difference much smoother and faster than original stock.

Why would you want to do that ?
on the other hand, i think there is a stock software file floating around the forums somewhere..
If you want to replace something and you are rooted. Buy root explorer from the market and get your hands on the. Apk (for this phone) and really install the apps you want. Otherwise if you root first then make a back up of apps with titanium backup from the market, you can then also select the ones you want and either delete or freeze the ones you don't want to keep.

What bloatware from this Samsung 4g have you deleted without issues?
I have gone ahead and deleted:
Accounts & Sync
Add to Home
Audio Postcard
Amazon
Kindle
Car Home
gogo
Inception
Y Finance CLock
Slcker
Visual Voicemail
Backup (I think this is the contacts backup thing)?
What else will you remove?
Moved to general as not android development
I can't remember exactly anymore; however, besides the backup and sync apps you listed most of those I can confirm removing and being OK. I didn't remove things I did not know what they did, at least I thought--that's a whole different story with gtalk. Removing gtalk anymore doesn't seem to be so detrimental as it used to be back in the 1.6 days of android; it was, however, super hard to find the apk to reinstall which i found here. I reinstalled gtalk because I wanted to be able to easily chat with my daughter, that is the only reason I found I wanted to install it for.
Sitting on ~100megs internal storage atm with 74aps. I really think a custom rom and partion could get me more open space. Oh, and I only froze the wifi voice calling app. My home wifi isn't a strong enough signal to support it all the time--cheap router I suppose--but I never know when I may get a new router in the future that would support a good enough signal for it. Being that the app is frozen--meaning that it is semi-uninstalled--system still operates stably.

Just hook your phone up with the drivers already installed and in usb debug mode from the menu... >menu > settings > applications > Development > usb debug mode. then just run the program and click "root" and it will take care of it for you
How do I add some of the bloatware apps back on to my device? Tried adb pouch from android commander and says I'm not rooted but I am after I checked with "root checker" any advice?
Adding the bloat back depends on how your removed it...TB can create a backup then remove it for you, you can us adb to remove it, but then you'll need to download the .apk files for the bloat you want to add it back in.
I believe the bloat is available for download in the development section.
Well, I searched around a bit, but the thread that it was one got closed...stuff got deleted...etc. Perhaps a bit more search, or someone can repost the bloat.zip.
ugh i messed up and deleted some live wall papers now it wont let me use live wall papers, how do i fix this? yo root the phone and flash it with K1c again if you are using that rom

After having nothing but trouble with my Sensation since June, I finally decided it needed to go back to Tmobile for a replacement. Thankfully I held off on rooting it since I know that can be a very hit or miss situation to fix prior to returning it. What is the best way to back up my apps and data so that I can get the new phone "looking" like this one? Clearly I can not root, so I need a solution that does not require tinkering. I have heard that all apps downloaded from the official Market should be available again (at no charge), can anyone confirm this? If so, how do I go about getting those apps? Also, will the same happen for free daily apps I downloaded from the Amazon App store?
Hi,
I'm also waiting for maturity and ease on rooting/unrooting this phone for the same reason you are
I had to do a factory reset on my Sensation after a couple of weeks and was pleasantly surpised to not only get my contacts back but all the apps I'd installed via Market.
Ensure both boxes are checked under "backup and restore" in Privacy settings and that you've been synchronizing with Google ok and you should get all the Market apps + your contacts and also your settings (like notification, ringtone etc) back
Sorry dunno about Amazon. Hope this helps.

That is interesting. Now, the question is did that work because you were using the same device? I am wondering how it works once you switch to a totally new piece of hardware with a different ESN and so forth.
You will keep all your maket app. Also, your Amazon app store purchase will be there if you sign in with the same account. Just backup your contact info to google and that should be it. The only thing that you will lose is app settings and data.

You will be able to keep all of your amazon appstore and market purchases. You just have to redownload them while signed into the same gmail account that you made the original transaction. Be wary of some game apps however.. I remember there was a problem for some users using Gameloft apps where they were unable to redownload the games they had purchased and were told by the company that they had to repurchase them for use on their new device. I haven't had the problem since I back up with Titanium, but if root is not an option, then you've been warned

So if You own the Samsung Blaze, you obviously no its loaded with bloatware you never use.
I've read you got to be careful what apps you remove, if rooted (isn't freezing threw Titanium Backup the same thing as uninstalling basically? but if you ever wanted too, you can just unfreeze to get it back?
So these are pretty much the apps i want to delete or freeze:
all share, game base, lookout, kies air, my device, mobile life somethin, more for me, pro apps, news and weather, social hub, task manager, voice talk, voice search, 411 and more, calculator, clock, email, files, local, media hub, memo, navigation, t mobile mall, t mobile TV, t mobile video, slacker radio, tags, talk, yelp
Are any of these apps not safe to delete!?!?
now, if it safe to get rid of these apps, should i just freeze threw TB or find a app with root permissions to uninstall completely?
help will be thanked and appriecated
Those all sound safe for removal. Its pretty easy to know what and not to delete. But why remove Task Manager? Its pretty useful.
I deleted everything you listed except: all share, kies air, social hub, task manager, voice talk, voice search, calculator, clock, email, files, local, media hub, memo, navigation, t mobile TV, tags, talk.
And my device is working fine. I uninstalled completely using ES File Manager.

I used TB Pro, you can ditch a lot of stuff:
Lookout, allshare, gamebase, my device, mobile life, more for me, pro apps, social hub, 411, media hub tmo mall, tmo tv, tmo video, slacker, yelp, and a few more.
System manager application is CarrierIQ under a guise, if you plan to TB uninstall it, you have to freeze it first.
Reboot after you uninstall system apps or else you might get repeating force closes.
Sweet thanks for the reply you guys. Is it just the obvious system apps you can't uninstall to render your device useless like dialer, contacts and what not. Or what else can? Or is it just like the hidden stuff you can't see in the app drawer like system UI and stuff like that?

Yes and no. You wouldn't want to delete Messaging app for example. I once deleted that on my previous phone, thinking I can just replace it with a third party messaging app from the Market (now called Play Store), but I kept getting force closing problems, and had to restore back to stock. So yes, don't delete stuff like the dialer.
I took everything out except WIFI calling. Some people report not being able to boot up after removing bloatware but I never experienced that.

Yes, but if you don't want to update, it's safe, right? And also, you can just get it back from the Play Store.
You can see what you removed in TB in the backup/restore section .....
At the bottom of the list. You'll see a thin white line through the name of the application.

I buy and sell phones to try the new stuff and previously had been strictly with iOS. I'm just now getting in the game with Android again, and was wondering what app is most similar to an iCloud or iTunes backup?
I see some things on the internet, but they are a little dated. It looks like Helium back-up is a good choice?
My contacts are all stored with Google or Microsoft Exchange at work, my photos are stored with Google or Dropbox. Text messages I don't care too much about, nor call history.
I just want the hundred or so apps that I have downloaded to download again and also to be placed on the home page in the same folder that I had before.
Thanks for any suggestions or help.
