In each of all four Captivate firmwares my incoming POP3 email server's settings for "delete email from server" change from my selection of "NEVER" to "when I delete from Inbox" randomly. Anyone else notice this?

I have 2 identical Fuzes, both have been upgraded to NATF's 2.2. One is working just fine, but one refuses to send email to a GMAIL account. I've checked the settings and it can get mail just fine, but can't send. Does anyone knoe of any problems with GMAIL and the Fuze?
For my Gmail account to send emails, I had to:
In the email tab, select accounts ->accounts -> Menu, Options -> select Gmail -> edit account setup-> next, next, next -? Advanced Server Settings -> Require SSL for Incomming and Outgoing email checked.
I think that should fix your issues, the "Auto configuration" got everything fine except for that settings...
double check the email account in question to see if pop3 access has been enabled, its in the gmail options (log in to your gmail account via pc and check it).
I had this problem yesterday and it could be the same.
Apparently there's a bug in WM6.1 that if the server doesn't answer once, it cycles to a blank server name. There's a fix out for it.

I orginally fixed the problem by deleting the account and re-making it but this is supposed to be a permanent fix.
Switching to SSL didn't help. I'm using IMAP vs POP but I'll check that.
Hi..I have a Blackstone with an email problem Is there a way to turn off outlooks "auto" settings? Im trying to get yahoo mail working (the payed for verison) with pop3. However when I setup the account in outlook it automatically detects yahoo settings for the free version and Im unable to change from IMAP4 to POP...someone suggested manual setup but I cant figure it out. Ive also tried making an account like @yaahhoo.com then going back and changing but it will not allow the original email to be changed. Any help appreciated.
THANKS!!
on the second page of "setup E-Mail" should be the field "try to get e-mail settings automatically from the internet"
try to unmark this and now you can add your settings manually....
I cannot seem to get LIVE email to function properly. I can get email in, but cannot send email out. When I set up, I can do incoming settings, but when I get to outgoing settings it says "cannot connect to the mail server to verify your account information".
Anyone help?
When I setup my email with the email icon as well as with the gmail app, everything synced up nicely, but i have not been able to send or receive emails. Says "sending" and nothing happens and new emails do not come in. Also it seems to say unable to connect to server a lot in the email icon. Although i have almost a full wi-fi connection. Ideas? Thanks.

I have an annoying problem here, the text message list wont update anymore after JB,
also it only shows "new message" on notification below instead of sender name,
and the email widget wont update unless I refresh it..
So there are 3 problems, im using indonesian JB
It seems to break the daemon service for updater maybe?
I have the same email problem. Will not update by itself.
Edit: I think I fixed it. Under settings and email, my accounts had synching disabled for some reason. Even though the sync box were checked in the email app setting. The synching under settings, account, email ... were disabled.
To fix, just go to
Settings > Data Usage > Menu > and check "auto sync data".
