GMail Issues - Touch Pro, Fuze General

I have 2 identical Fuzes, both have been upgraded to NATF's 2.2. One is working just fine, but one refuses to send email to a GMAIL account. I've checked the settings and it can get mail just fine, but can't send. Does anyone knoe of any problems with GMAIL and the Fuze?

For my Gmail account to send emails, I had to:
In the email tab, select accounts ->accounts -> Menu, Options -> select Gmail -> edit account setup-> next, next, next -? Advanced Server Settings -> Require SSL for Incomming and Outgoing email checked.
I think that should fix your issues, the "Auto configuration" got everything fine except for that settings...

double check the email account in question to see if pop3 access has been enabled, its in the gmail options (log in to your gmail account via pc and check it).

I had this problem yesterday and it could be the same.
Apparently there's a bug in WM6.1 that if the server doesn't answer once, it cycles to a blank server name. There's a fix out for it.

I orginally fixed the problem by deleting the account and re-making it but this is supposed to be a permanent fix.

Switching to SSL didn't help. I'm using IMAP vs POP but I'll check that.

Google Mail

Has anyone sucessfully got google mail to work with WM5? I know gmail works, but googlemail is the uk version, and it doesn't seem to want to work, even when I put in all the correct details.
Have you remembered to activate POP settings in googlemail?
My googlemail account has exactly the same POP Options as my gmail one (and that successfully gets to my Exec)
EDIT:
Exec settings:
Username: [email protected]
Account type: POP3
Incoming mail: pop.gmail.com:995
Outgoing mail: smtp.gmail.com:465
Under Options, tick "require SSL connection" and "outgoing mail requires authentication", but not the seperate settings one.
I've just set this second account up on my Exec and it's working.
Good luck!

manual email setup

Hi..I have a Blackstone with an email problem Is there a way to turn off outlooks "auto" settings? Im trying to get yahoo mail working (the payed for verison) with pop3. However when I setup the account in outlook it automatically detects yahoo settings for the free version and Im unable to change from IMAP4 to POP...someone suggested manual setup but I cant figure it out. Ive also tried making an account like @yaahhoo.com then going back and changing but it will not allow the original email to be changed. Any help appreciated.
THANKS!!
on the second page of "setup E-Mail" should be the field "try to get e-mail settings automatically from the internet"
try to unmark this and now you can add your settings manually....

Outlook Mobile - Advanced E-Mail Options grayed out

Hi,
Been trying to figure this out for a while. I have my exchange setup w/ google for email and that is working fine. However, when I go into the advanced options that are under the Email Sync Options when you're configuring the server settings for ActiveSync, they are grayed out.
I'm not concerned with the security options there. It is the "My e-mail address" field that is grayed out and I can't put my email address there to see if that prevents sending an email to myself when I hit the Reply All button.
Are there any registry settings I can tweak to fix this? I tried looking around and I can't find what I'm looking for.
I'll get a screen shot when I can find my camera. MyMobiler wont work because I can't get to the settings when i got activesync going through USB.
Thanks for the help~
edit: I deleted the sync relationship and recreated it. I was able to enter my email address then before I finished setting up the sync. However....my email address is in the field.. but it's grayed out!

[Q] Stock email not syncing properly

I use the stock email for my hotmail account which is my main email account so i have all my other email accounts forwarded to that one. I have it set to Push, and it does...sometimes, but not always, which I find to be weird. I have auto sync checked, data or wifi is always running so its a data issue, I've deleted the account and set it up again and im still having the same problem. I am on Tweakstock with PJB. Anyone else having this issue or know of a solution?
I have never found touchwiz email to be useful. I would always have to sync it manually with my college's email. Eventually I integrated it into my gmail (used pop3 in gmail to add to inbox and smtp to send) and the gmail app on my phone will even allow me to send as either my gmail or my college's email. You should try doing this to your hotmail.
I'm using hotmail app to sync and it's working fine. The one that you used is Window live.
ill try the hotmail app, thanks, its just weird cuz i never had a problem until this past week.

[Q] Stock email app does not push or delete correctly

So I'm coming from a Samsung Fascinate, and so far I love this phone. However, the email app bugs the hell out of me. I have set up my Yahoo and Hotmail to sync through push. The emails sometimes do not come through for hours after they are received though. Additionally, deleting emails from my Fascinate used to delete them from the inbox on the server as well, so when I check through a browser, they will be gone. Now, this doesn't happen. A copy remains on the server, and I cannot find a setting ANYWHERE to disable that. Does anyone else notice this or have a fix?
Thanks
Just downloaded the respective Hotmail and Yahoo apps and they push immediately and correctly. Now I am trying to delete the email accounts from the stock email app, and it errors out. I tried removing them from accounts under settings and it says I have to completely wipe the phone as the accounts are being used by an app. What. The. Hell.
I think I have it figured out - it's in the setup of the email account and the server settings.
To set up a screenname / email address:
Main menu
Applications
Email
Menu
Accounts
Click add account
Select Others, not AOL
Enter email address and password
Here's the important part - choose the manual setup, not next. This will take you to incoming server settings. It should fill the settings automatically - IMAP / [email address]/ imap.aol.com / 143 / None
Hit next.
This is the outgoing server settings - again, auto filled - smtp.aol.com / 587 / None
Hit next. Then you customize the sync settings, name the account, choose your display name, and then hit Done. In Email, you can tailor signature settings, etc.
The key is the manual setup and having incoming and outgoing settings right - this fixes the trash syncing, allows folders to be displayed, etc.
Hope this helps
