[Q] How to Change Voice Quality in MS Voice Command 1.6.19214 - Touch Pro, Fuze General

I seem to have no trouble using a more recent modded MSVC from Bengalih lately which was installed over a Cookie WM6.5 ROM on my Fuze.
What I am looking for, however, is a tweak that would allow me to alter the voice tone or "gender". I find the built-in robotic voice is hard for me to distinguish some syllables. The higher-pitched tone that Microsoft uses is washed out with any moderate amount of the background noise common with driving - even with the windows rolled up.
Anyone has something or any advice, would be grateful for the reply.
I have relied on your forums here for so many things and I have a very stable phone that I won't likely outgrow for several more years thanks to all of you.
Thank you!

Problems with MS Voice Command

Has anyone expereince a degradation in the accuracy of MS Voice Command on their Magician. I was amazed at how accurate the latest MS VC Version was-nearly 100% accuracy, and then all of a sudden I could barely get it to respond to any command. I removed and replaced the program and it is better, but I get a lot of errors on the confimration.
I'm not new to this app. I have used this program since it came out.
The only thing I did was play around with some registry speed up hacks.
Looks like a Hard Rest may be coming up. I depend on MS VC.
I gave up MS VC and use Cyberon VoiceCommander for 2 reasons recently:
1. I have quite a lot of contacts and it's just too hard for MS VC to differieniate them. Cyberon's one can filter contacts that U want it to be recongized.
2. Maybe my English is not good enough, it always had a hard time to recongized some of my command. Cyberon's voice tag solve this problem.

Cyberon Voice Commander 2.0, can it work with Bluetooth??

ok so i tried MS Voice 1.5 and didn't like it at ALL!
then i tried a cab that everyone was recommending as i have been searching the board. that cab is: CyberionVoiceSD_for_WM6_v1.2_build_61226_1_fixed... it worked kinda. however it was old and not what i was looking for.
then i kept searching, desperately not trying to post and ask for 2.0. as to not be yelled at by everyone. however I FOUND IT!! it took a ****load of searching with this new horrible search engine. anyway i love 2.0, its just what i was looking for.
i mapped the activation to my old PTT button. however when i put on bluetooth, the audio still comes from the phone and wants u to talk into the phone speaker. i even have a jabra, single ear a2dp headset so its even more strange the audio still comes from the phone.
i need the be able to map my bluetooth button to activate this program. i also need to use the mic in my BT for the commands.
here the cabs, i prefer Cyberon_VoiceCommander_2.0_913.2 , obviously
From my experience...
Cyberon VC isn't worth the hassle. In the end BT support isn't supported. I've played with, researched and searched to no avail. It is trash. Use MS VC and you'll be much less frustrated. If you did search, you may have found the discussion on this subject more than a couple of times. Either let it go or wear a helmet.... you'll be hitting your head against a wall.
On the search engine comment, you might try google search. It's better, but the problem isn't the search engine so much as it is the entire infrastructure of these forums. They are debating it as we "speak". Really smart people who are passionate about the subject. An unfortunate typical approach to problem solving.
First VC 1.5 is not intended to work with WM6.
If you own a legit copy you can upgrade to 1.6 for $10, otherwise 1.6 will cost you $40 and is well worth the cost.
Closing this thread as this is a question that has been covered again & again.

Mobile Vista 1.3 (cooked 3.14 ROM 19209) - Text to Speech

Is Text to Speech a feature of WM6.0 (or 6.1) or was this something that you bundled into this ROM. It could be very useful especially while driving when messages are read out but is there any way to slow her down - she speaks at a rate of knots and so I find it very difficult to hear unless I was ready and waiting for the message.

please post in the appropriate thread. Stu is more likely to see it there.
I appreciate where you are coming from but I felt that the original thread would be more suited to installation difficulties (as indeed the latest message is) and also, since I have no idea if this is a Stu special or a general feature. I tried searching for "text to speech" but never turned up anything

The "text to speech" software is Microsoft Voice Command 1.6. One of the standard features is to read out incoming calls, texts and e-mails (subject and sender). It was included in the leaked AT&T 19209 ROM and I left it in there for my ROM. There is a reg entry that slows down Voice Command's speech but I don't remember it off the top of my head. I do remember it's on the "Pocket PC Tweaks" website so you might have to Google.
Just to back up what P1T said, I do look at my ROMs thread whenever I can (and more than I look outside it) so any questions should be kept in an existing thread if you can.
Many thanks - I found them

Voice Command sucks so badly..Options?

Cyberon Voice Commander, that came on my TouchPro, sucks so badly.
Not only doesn't it work very well, but the women's voice is so annoying,
I would throw her out of bed!
I liked the older MS Voice Command much better. does anyone know if this progrma works on the TouchPro.
MS Voice Command works great with Touch Pro...AT&T actually includes it with the Fuze.

http://rs555cg.rapidshare.com/files/141620026/1409235/Microsoft.Voice.Command.v1.6.19213.rar for the cab extracted from that ROM.
Extracting a program from a certain phone that is came with to place it on a phone it didnt originally come with is considering warez.
We all know about warez and links to it on this forum
Forewarning
It is hit or miss with me....goes something like this.
Press button on headset...beep beep
Me: Call George Smith
Phone: Call Bill Smith
Me: Cancel
Phone: Cancel
Me: press button...beep beep
Me: Call George Smith
Phone: Call Jorge Symth?
Me: Cancel
................
20 minutes later
Me: press contacts locate George Smith, hit call.
Sometimes it works perfectly, sometimes, it thinks I can't speak English.
Comical, but that's been my luck with voice dial, "you talk, it types" programs etc...Speech is a strange thing. I'm sure it will get fixed one of these days,
but there are so many variables with speech.

1. Is there any way to completely delete Cyberon Voice Commander from my Touch Pro.
I would like to do this before I load MS Voice Command.
2. DeniaL, I've got a store bought copy of MS Voice Command v. 1.5.
Do you know if this version will run on The Touch Pro?
3. Does MS offer a free upgrade from 1.5 to 1.6?
I think the Voice commander chick is mocking me!

1. there are some custom made ROMs out there w/o this annoying Cyberon thingy - but remove without reflashing: nope. It's burnt into ROM. But after installing MSVC, deleting an existing pairing with your Headset and reconnecting it's quite gone. MSVC has taken over then. More in the guide down below - and even more in the original thread beyond posting 9.
2. I'm not DeniaL, but in former times there was a very VERY fine tutorial for it from bengalih - Definitive Guide for Microsoft Voice Command (MSVC) on the Kaiser/Tilt 2.0 - it's now partially gone as well as bengalih - respectively bengalih has taken his wisdom with him. -- Originally written for Kaiser but works on raphael like a charm (tested). (original article as attachment below)
MSVC 1.5 is intended for use with WM 5.0, it's very outdated and will not work; 1.6 was built for WM 6.x but works with WM5 as well.
3. Do you believe in miracles? - NO i suppose - and so does Microsoft. But PocketGear has an ---> offer for 10 US$
So long and HTH
EDIT: There are different versions:
US-english, UK-english, french, german, ...(even more?).
Since I use the german one I don't know if the two english versions differ in voice synthesis.

LOL at the video, that's cool. Well, I'm using Vista's voice recognition casually (Vista Business) and without training I get fairly good results. Maybe 'cos I don't have neither an accent nor a dialect. I think results with my spoken english might differ even it's fair enough tho (no ugly german accent)
Other fine results
But MSVC on Windows Mobile may have some problems b/c english is very colorful: kiwi, aussie, oxford, scottish, canadian, north, east, west, south, middle, west-coast, [...] the individuality is overwhelming and there is no option to train (which is a pretty bummer) but that's why there are UK and US versions: the recognition schemes are different.
But as far as I can say a major problem is: speaking too loud, speaking too slow, speaking in discrete words other than in a flow, eating up the microphone... just hold it 1 ft. or 30cm in front of your face and speak just normally - and have microphone auto-amp off. Very fine results for my part. Maybe with a bit more forté --- and in louder environment just a bit nearer and cover the mic with your finger after your last word is said. (...kay... took me three months to perfectionalize that) AND to make use of more nicknames (typed like the spoken name sounds like; helps a lot!)
Just my five cents, hth and so long

[Q] Xperia X10 VoiP

Can anyone suggest a SIP application for X10 that actually works with the phone! I've tried at least 5 or 6 of them always with the same result: the voice received on the other side is utterly hideous! Tried: sipdroid, fring, linphone, 3CX, c... and they all routed voice to speaker instead earpiece, never avoided echo being generated on the other side of the call, mic & speaker mixing caused further problems with voice quality received on the other side of the call, tried every single codec 8,16,32 kbps, lowering the mic & speaker gain ... So before i go and by Nokia E series just to do the damn VoIP, is there any hope for X10??
Voip on X10
Got the same Problems .........
No SIP client is working on the X10! I tried many of them i.e. Sipdroid, Fringe, Nimbuzz, FritzApp and so on..........
The results are the same! No SIP client is working solid. I get force closed, phone crashes or just awesome bad voice quality....
I realy was thinking that this was caused by the 1.6 Firmware.
So 2.1 is out now and i try it again.
The Result: Still crashes and phone hang ups! SO WTF?
It wasnt about the 1.6 Firmware so what is wrong with the X10?
It looks like that there is no option to use any SIP Droid with it?
Is anybody out there who can confirm a running SIP client on a X10 with satisfying result?
I have never heard about and i realy want to use VOIP. There must be a way........
Thanx for sharing your experience!
Have you actually upgraded!? i'm waiting on 2.1 before dropping down the Issue. I'll be patient and wait for a update which is meant for my region (not the Nordic), and it might take a while. However I found somewhere that he issue with bad voice quality during voIP in Xperia is caused by the phone recording/mixing inbound & outbound audio at the same time. I actually haven't had many crashes except with Linphone and my main concern is audio. Hoping that 2.1 would do something with the Android Kernel that will allow for better VoIP experience. If not E52 (Nokia has by far the best VoIP client).
Yes im already using the Nordic 2.1 Firmware......
there is no hope for SIP!
Damn it! I mean WTF, I'm following the Xperiax10.net blog and people getting wormed up about the Eclair and anticipating trivial stuff such as live f...king wallpapers, 5 welcome screens minor improvements in performance (OK I admit that Hd recording & continuous are some improvements) but totally neglecting a functionality in which their phone is used as a communication tool!!
So It looks that I'm going to use two devices Xperia handling my multimedia requirements and some cheap WiFi capable Nokia handling SIP!! Have you tried contacting your local SE office over this matter?
Try CSipSimple. Its the beter full sip solution for now on my X10mini. Fully integrates with dialer, and sound is ok at all

Thank you for this hint.
I will give it a try and post my experience......

You're right CSIPSimple gives best results, it takes some twitching with the mic & speaker gains to get best results. Works best with headphones. I've tried CSipSimple before on 1.6 but the software kept crashing down, however on 2.1 the software runs smooth. Finally x10 is shaping to be an acceptable business platform other than toy!
Thanx, anyhow for sharing!
