Has anyone expereince a degradation in the accuracy of MS Voice Command on their Magician. I was amazed at how accurate the latest MS VC Version was-nearly 100% accuracy, and then all of a sudden I could barely get it to respond to any command. I removed and replaced the program and it is better, but I get a lot of errors on the confimration.
I'm not new to this app. I have used this program since it came out.
The only thing I did was play around with some registry speed up hacks.
Looks like a Hard Rest may be coming up. I depend on MS VC.
I gave up MS VC and use Cyberon VoiceCommander for 2 reasons recently:
1. I have quite a lot of contacts and it's just too hard for MS VC to differieniate them. Cyberon's one can filter contacts that U want it to be recongized.
2. Maybe my English is not good enough, it always had a hard time to recongized some of my command. Cyberon's voice tag solve this problem.

Alright, for those of you with the new WMP 10 (for PPC) and Microsoft Voice Command, can you try this:
Say "Play Everything".
The PPC will respond "Everything" and open up WMP10, but it will not actually play anything!
Just wanted to confirm that more people have experienced this. Anyone know of any updates on the horizon?
No one has WMP10 and VC? :?
Voice command was not made to support Wmp10..
Maybe future version..if it will be.
Hi,
has anyone from the UK managed to purchase Voice Command and if so, how !
cheers
Russ.
I haven't but would also be very interested to see if anyone has, since M$ say it is available for US only- why is that, does anyone know?
Fin
Hi,
I used microsoft voice command...but it didn´t work out...many "screen" mistakes..
It only works about 2-3 weeks....after that i press the green button to phone somebody and i got a hard reset... :x
i never used it again and my mda is working fine now....
Am in the uk, i have been using the voice command since mid 2004 from 1.01 to 1.5upgrade. it works for me. Though its not perfect but the 1.5 version is a great inprovement. I currently have a cold .. tried saying the following commands "what time is it", "play pink floyd" it seems to work for me.
sometimes i tend to pronunce names or files names like the program would, so media player would be "midia pleyer" or "Gwen Stefani" Gwen Stephanie
at least i don't have to train the program
i personally recommend Fonix VoiceCentral 2.0
this program not only allows you to do what Microsoft Voice command can do, it has a feature where u can mark those program/contacts that you will use often and unmark those that you dont wish to use at all.
this will help to minimize the confusion of calling name that is close to each other.
secondly. it also allows you to record your voice for the particular contacts or programs, so that you can easily call them out.
The reason why Microsoft disallow the program to be exported to world wide is because they are trying to control the piracy, if i am not wrong
Keith
I use vocie command myself and have had no problems, no voice training and it works perfectly, quite cool just saying "Play album by blah" and WMplayer just fires up and belts the tracks out.
I use my XDAIIs as a MP3 player and have it picks my voice up even in my coat pocket walking down a busy street.
Only minor gripe is that as it's only sold in US the voice dialling won't recognise UK dialling codes (only us formats) so this means you can only voice dial numbers form contacts
Got my copy on one of those extended trials  ,if you can't get hold of a copy let me know and we'll sort something
well, if the program is intended for US, even there is a way to sort the program, it might not work well with in my country.
you know what i mean
I just want to find out from you guys which is better between Microsoft Voice Commander and Cyberon Voice Commander. I have only used MSVC so i cant speak for Cyberon, but I have looked at the interface for cyberon and it looks cheap. So obviously my vote is for MSVC right now. I am curious to try Cyberon but like i said don't know the perks of it.
I guess me and this other guy that voted are the only one's who care about this topic. I guess you can close this if you would like moderator.
Vote! Vote! Vote! I need opinions also please. I can't really tell myself.
Tried both, I like Cyberon Voice Dial
Since it's a voice-driven app, i don't look at it much - I don't care about the GUI. I tried Cyberon Voice commander, and I thought in general the voice recognition was a bit better, and it seemed I more intuitive with the way I issue commands. But that's my voice, my noise environment.
But I found I seldom strayed from my usual path, and that I could backup & copy (transfer) voice commands for Cyberon Voice Dialer. It has a relatively small footprint, and the recognition is the best when you record your own voice, and the commands can be briefer... cryptic, for that matter,
I got a free copy of all the Cyberon stuff. It's out there. Why not try it? I really think it's a matter of preference, which is why no one's answering your post.
I've tried both for me MSVC is my preference, but limited in what it does although once installed it's more or less ready to go.
Cyberon you have to teach and the end result is more tailored to your needs, as Janis said it is free if you look and it is worth trying.

I know this topic is a matter of a opinion and that is exactly what I want, other peoples opinion. I'm kinda wanting to go with a majority rules.

Cool. Thanks for the input and thank you for taking time to respond. What do you mean by you have to train Cyberon though. I installed Cyberon and it pretty much reacted like MSVC just a lil slower. I thought the training was only for the cyberon voice dial
The version I had didn't understand a word I said, and I consider my English to be reasonable

Yeah that does piss me off sometimes mine does that. I have no clue what causes it either. The I curse at her and she cancels.
Cyberon Voice Commander, that came on my TouchPro, sucks so badly.
Not only doesn't it work very well, but the women's voice is so annoying,
I would throw her out of bed!
I liked the older MS Voice Command much better. does anyone know if this progrma works on the TouchPro.
MS Voice Command works great with Touch Pro...AT&T actually includes it with the Fuze.

http://rs555cg.rapidshare.com/files/141620026/1409235/Microsoft.Voice.Command.v1.6.19213.rar for the cab extracted from that ROM.
Extracting a program from a certain phone that is came with to place it on a phone it didnt originally come with is considering warez.
We all know about warez and links to it on this forum
Forewarning
It is hit or miss with me....goes something like this.
Press button on headset...beep beep
Me: Call George Smith
Phone: Call Bill Smith
Me: Cancel
Phone: Cancel
Me: press button...beep beep
Me: Call George Smith
Phone: Call Jorge Symth?
Me: Cancel
................
20 minutes later
Me: press contacts locate George Smith, hit call.
Sometimes it works perfectly, sometimes, it thinks I can't speak English.
Comical, but that's been my luck with voice dial, "you talk, it types" programs etc...Speech is a strange thing. I'm sure it will get fixed one of these days,
but there are so many variables with speech.

1. Is there any way to completely delete Cyberon Voice Commander from my Touch Pro.
I would like to do this before I load MS Voice Command.
2. DeniaL, I've got a store bought copy of MS Voice Command v. 1.5.
Do you know if this version will run on The Touch Pro?
3. Does MS offer a free upgrade from 1.5 to 1.6?
I think the Voice commander chick is mocking me!

1. there are some custom made ROMs out there w/o this annoying Cyberon thingy - but remove without reflashing: nope. It's burnt into ROM. But after installing MSVC, deleting an existing pairing with your Headset and reconnecting it's quite gone. MSVC has taken over then. More in the guide down below - and even more in the original thread beyond posting 9.
2. I'm not DeniaL, but in former times there was a very VERY fine tutorial for it from bengalih - Definitive Guide for Microsoft Voice Command (MSVC) on the Kaiser/Tilt 2.0 - it's now partially gone as well as bengalih - respectively bengalih has taken his wisdom with him. -- Originally written for Kaiser but works on raphael like a charm (tested). (original article as attachment below)
MSVC 1.5 is intended for use with WM 5.0, it's very outdated and will not work; 1.6 was built for WM 6.x but works with WM5 as well.
3. Do you believe in miracles? - NO i suppose - and so does Microsoft. But PocketGear has an ---> offer for 10 US$
So long and HTH
EDIT: There are different versions:
US-english, UK-english, french, german, ...(even more?).
Since I use the german one I don't know if the two english versions differ in voice synthesis.

LOL at the video, that's cool. Well, I'm using Vista's voice recognition casually (Vista Business) and without training I get fairly good results. Maybe 'cos I don't have neither an accent nor a dialect. I think results with my spoken english might differ even it's fair enough tho (no ugly german accent)
Other fine results
But MSVC on Windows Mobile may have some problems b/c english is very colorful: kiwi, aussie, oxford, scottish, canadian, north, east, west, south, middle, west-coast, [...] the individuality is overwhelming and there is no option to train (which is a pretty bummer) but that's why there are UK and US versions: the recognition schemes are different.
But as far as I can say a major problem is: speaking too loud, speaking too slow, speaking in discrete words other than in a flow, eating up the microphone... just hold it 1 ft. or 30cm in front of your face and speak just normally - and have microphone auto-amp off. Very fine results for my part. Maybe with a bit more forté --- and in louder environment just a bit nearer and cover the mic with your finger after your last word is said. (...kay... took me three months to perfectionalize that) AND to make use of more nicknames (typed like the spoken name sounds like; helps a lot!)
Just my five cents, hth and so long
I seem to have no trouble using a more recent modded MSVC from Bengalih lately which was installed over a Cookie WM6.5 ROM on my Fuze.
What I am looking for, however, is a tweak that would allow me to alter the voice tone or "gender". I find the built-in robotic voice is hard for me to distinguish some syllables. The higher-pitched tone that Microsoft uses is washed out with any moderate amount of the background noise common with driving - even with the windows rolled up.
Anyone has something or any advice, would be grateful for the reply.
I have relied on your forums here for so many things and I have a very stable phone that I won't likely outgrow for several more years thanks to all of you.
Thank you!
