[REQUEST] Sirius Satellite Radio APP - Android Apps and Games

I would like to request a developer to make an Android App similar to the WM6 Sirius Radio App attached here. The difference from the current WM6 App from the Android App is that the requires a $2.99 a month fee. Old timers like me got a life time plan that allows internet listening for free. With my WM6 TP2 I could do this with this App. Now that I have a Eris I am screwed because they consider streaming to a phone different than streaming to a laptop (Major Bull Crap)!! I would think someone could port this over to Android. Any ways it would be appreciated from me and others to make an alternate player......
Here is the commercial Sirius App too.

I have a life time internet plan and I can use the program provided by Sirius. I did have to download the apk from the Canadian site to get it to work though, as the US and Canadian websites have different versions, each for their respective country.

There is a grandfather date that allows older life time plan to get the phone internet feed for free. I am not one of those life time members. This is why I think an App like the WM6 one would benifit everyone. To me internet access is internet access.... wether you get it on a phone or a laptop.

Sirius Update 1.10
Does anyone have the update for the SiriusXM app to 1.10? Have the link provided by Sirius site, but keep receiving "Not Found the requested item could not be found".
If anyone has the update and can post it on here, I would be forever at your service!!!!!
Doesn't show up on the market for me, but I am not in the U.S. so that probably is the reason, no need, found the file so I am good to go and happy!!!

Get it from the market. That's where its at.

Any idea what the grandfather date is? I have had a lifetime plan for roughly 5 years now.....Never had to pay for online listening through my computer.
Tried the SiriusXM app in the US market and they want the extra $2.99. I just downloaded the canadian apk file so I am gonna give that a try next.
I too agree internet access is internet access.... whether you get it on a phone or a laptop.

I'm in exactly the same situation, lifetime member who just broke his WM phone and now is stuck having to pay extra due to having an Android phone. I wish I knew how to code!

Streaming Adult Content

I work for one of the largest Video On Demand porn sites in the world. My question is do you guys and gals think there would be interest in a program in the vain of V-Tap for adult content? I know that you can stream from our sites directly with WM phones, but it seems to take a hell of a lot of data and memory usage, especially with Opera Mobile. So give it to me straight pervs would this be worth trying to pitch to the bosses about?
Ha! 45 people have read this and no one has had the guts to say something.
I say go for it! No shame in my game, brotha'.
I say go for it man!
Good idea mate! Just go for it
Do people pay for this service to get it into a v-tap type of software?
I'll be your first beta tester!

pron is great. Greater still on the go!
(yes - p r o n)
go for it dude... theres more women that will be watchin... lol
Just so no one gets their hopes up, this is a really big IF. These are just ideas that are swimming around in my head.

Ha! I was thinking the same thing. I was just thinking, "damn did I just get black listed?". I guess I'm just trying to do a little bit of market research. My company also runs Pornotube which I think could easily be adapted for mobile devices a la some Vtap like software for the phone. I'm getting documentation together right now about it, the only problem is I really know jack about programming especially on a mobile device.

No people do not pay for this software. If we decided to do it on our adult version of Youtube I also do not think there would be a charge, but because it is adult content, for safety (don't want the kiddies on it) reasons it might be smarter to have a small monthly fee (5$) something like that.

This could be possible, if the execs went for it we would probably need Beta testers. Of course there is the problem of ensuring the Beta testers are of age, but more then likely I would turn to this site for beta testing. So just keep your fingers crossed.
bring it on !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Over 300 views and only 7 people have an opinion? Come on people, at least PM me.
well i think people were looking because they thought that it was a post about a serivce.. if you had that many hits im sure youd have alot of support if the program went into development.. **** be the first to have a niche in the mobile market im sure youd be stabing yourself in the foot later if you dont... look how many things are becoming mobile.. mobile banking, youtube , music everything i say do it
I do believe its a good idea, but only if its 100% free... I don't see many ppl paying even 1$ as a monthly fee.
Unfortunately there is just no way it would be free. Trust me who doesn't want free porn? But the company I work for is in the business to make money first and then please people second. It just doesn't work that way to give free porn. Hell even sites that do give away content for free pester you with so many banner ads it's almost not even worth it. I think Pornotube would be about the only thing that could be free on the company's end.

You could always put small (like 10 sec or so) ad before each video plays, to get advertising revenue. That way it would stay free on the user end.
Honestly.. where would the internet be without P&P (pron and pirates)???
Contact me directly, if your interested, i have an idea to sell you that might just take mobile pron to the next generation with an app that is already well under development for other uses...
i have several ways of streaming adult contact to my device.. orb is one but the others are a little more complicated. Go's like this. access the site (usually wmv streaming sites) copy link location, open media player or tcpmp and open file or location and paste that link and click open and 70% of the time it works.

Dear Freind u are doing good job

does or has anyone used skype?

this might not be the best forum for this question but i have enjoyed talking with everyone and the help you all give me. I am on my way to Afghanistan and think i will have wi-fy access so am considering skype. i'm taking a laptop and my fuze. so has any one used it, good or bad feed back? thanks!
i have used it before to talk on my friend in australia and i am in the u.s... its a pretty cool gadget i would recomend it
My husband and I used it heavily while he was in Iraq and Kuwait. Be aware that if you are connecting to a state-owned wifi it may block Skype. Check before you go. You can get around that by using a VPN. I suggest you:
1) Check with anyone else where you are going and see what their wifi connections are like (ie, blocked)
2) If they are blocked be sure to at least download the .exe before you get there. Otherwise you may not be able to get to the site.
It's wonderful to talk via skype for free (we did it pc - pc). Just do some research before you go.

what's that? mobile cash withdrawel? Yeah, i want that app too...
noh, just kidding... i dunno know if there's such app?
there is an app... but its for the google android phone and iphone only... which is kinda retarded....
i really hope that they make a mobile banking app (BoA) for winmo phones.. i would most definitely utilize it
try this: http://www.brothersoft.com/mobile/bank-of-america-mobile-banking-11452.html
oo wow nice... but i am a little cautious on this one... anyone try it yet?? any reviews? forgive my hesitation.. its just that i rather not give out my info to a third party app,,, (even though it says BoA??) i just figured that if it was officially licensed by BoA.. then it would be available through them as well... hmmm
o ya.. doesn't work
If you go to the bank of america website the app is on there.
^ It's not, only iPhone, Android and Blackberry devices.
yea like i said before... i really hope they finally develop one for windows mobile... especially the hd2... i mean COME ON!!
it is pretty bad considering that windows mobile is the top device used to access bank of america's mobile banking site.
I read that on their site a couple months back, guess its changed now, here's what their site says:
To access Mobile Banking, customers simply go to http://www.bofa.mobi/ on their phone's web browser and enter their Online Banking ID and passcode to access their accounts. Apple iPhone, RIM Blackberry and Microsoft Windows Mobile devices are the most popular ones used by mobile banking customers.

still should be an app although i'm not too bothered by their mobile site other than right after you log in it takes you to a page that just says "welcome to mobile banking"

I was told by a rep at the bank if you contact them and request a winmo app and there are a lot of others doing the same then they will do it.
It's annoying how huge companies like Bank of America won't make an app for winmo. They have many business customers that use this platform and also use BoA. Strange that they don't seem to get that.
Bank of America App
Hello all,
Try this .....
I think this is what you all are looking for.
This is one of the things i do not get about iphone mostly...they have one bagfrillion apps so that they can do do things that can be done by their browser..and have been since the beggining...is there really a dirrefence if its an app or a bookmark that you tap onto?
how lazy do people have to be ?

the bofa.mobi site never works for me when i use opera 9.7 (hate opera 10). it's just very annoying to have to open pocketIE in order to use bofa.mobi
If you have a cooked rom, you have to do opera:config and put the original user agent for your phone back in. BoA doesn't like generic user agent strings for some reason. Usually a google search will turn up the phone's original UA setting.
Hope this helps.

SlingPlayer Mobile now available for Android

One of the last items that I missed from the conversion from WM was a slingmedia player.
It was released today (tonight actually).
Of course, I have the older slingplayer (AV model) which is not 100% supported, but it is good enough until my new Solo arrives.
Even using an older not quite supported slingbox, the player is much much easier to use than the WM ever was.
SlingPlayer For Android
Awesome
I have used Slingplayer mobile on WM and iPhone and the Android flavor is by far the best. The integration that they have built in to allow easy use of all of the functionality you would have right in your own living room. Good Work Sling!
The site says sling classic not officially supported but may work. Is this app still have the 24hr return policy as the rest of the app store. I don't want to waste $30.

I downloaded it last night to test it with my Slingbox AV (older "unsupported" model) on my rooted Incredible. It works, for anyone who was wondering. Over EvDO rA, the picture was good, but the audio was kind of choppy. Some people have guessed that the buffering is handled differently in the new version, which might explain the audio issue. One thing that's completely different in the Android version (I came from WM too) is that there is no way to adjust the streaming settings (or even view the statistics for that matter). I'm going to dig into the config files a little and see if anything can be manually tweaked.
So, for anyone who's wondering... the Android version of SlingPlayer WILL work with a Slingbox AV, but it's not necessarily great.
I am using the slingbox AV myself until the Solo shows up. I got pretty good results last night on EVDO rev/A. After changing channels it would settle down pretty quickly.
On WiFi it work much better of course...
The method of changing and selecting channels is much easier than the WM verison. Even accessing some of the more obscure buttons is easy with this interface.
some of the features don't work with the older slingbox, but I didn't find anything that I had to have that I could not do with it.
I bought it. It is ok but not worth the $30 so I uninstalled. I better get my refund.
Man, figures is would be now that I'm w/o cable. I'm moving in a week.

Download Sling Mobile from xxxx
I have Slingbox Av which seems to work pretty good with this mobile App. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that could save them lots of money. I subscribe to a website called xxxx. They have lots of paid apps that you can download right to your phone. Anyway for $10 a year you can download as many paid apps as you want. They just updated there listing last night and Slingplayer is available to download. Its alot cheaper to get it from xxxx and you get lots of other paid apps to go along with it.

Which is the same a stealing since they are not legal copies of the apps and the original authors are not paid for their work, time and expense of publishing and development.
Probably true about that website so then just go torrent it for free if you don't care about paying for it. The news had a story about movie sites like that which are run by organized crime and the movie studios are mad. Personally I think sling is doing it to themselves by charging too much and also making winmo converts pay again for the same app, along with dropping support for the sling classic customers. They are getting greedy and people are revolting.

Greedy?
I suppose they have developers that work for free on a project that has taken more than a year to complete. Do you work for free? I don't.
The droid version of the player is significantly better than the WinMo version ever was and much more usable. Many of the operations work just fine with Slingbox AV even though it is not fully supported.
As for dropping support for older technologies, gee time does move on. It is not that uncommon that new technologies come along that no longer support older hardware. It happens.. And it is not like they have not been talking about new technologies not supporting the older boxes now for years.
They do provide an upgrade discount for registered users of the older boxes to get newer ones. If they were greedy they would not offer that.
If their users think the price is too high, they won't buy. If sales are slow Slingmedia will do what most companies do when products are not moving.
Promoting theft is not cool, whether using a torrent or a hack site. Saying it is okay because the a product is overpriced is not an excuse.
Should I go sit in time out now for voicing my opinion of a greedy company.
What if MS made you buy office 2010 because you have win7 but Vista users could still use office 2007? I bought a license and am not buying another.

[APP] Cerberus Hits 100,000 Users, Offers Free Lifetime Licenses For A Few Days!

A very Powerful Anti-Theft App
The app is always free to download and comes with a 1 week free trial, but a lifetime license is normally $4. I say normally because, as you have likely deduced from the title, the developer is offering free lifetime licenses in celebration of hitting 100,000 users.
To get the license, just download the app and register an account (it requires a username, password, and email address - nothing tricky), then fill out the form and hit Submit. The developers will take care of the rest. The promotion ends with the month (by GMT standards), so better move fast - you only have a few days left!
App: http://goo.gl/12Oye
Website: http://goo.gl/I58Ke
Source: Android Police
I've just reinstalled this. I tried it out back in the early days but was never too impressed. It has come a long way since then though.
The only issue I have with apps like this, including Lookout, is how much information is available to it. Not only does it require permissions to just about everything but if you wanted to (and have root), you can also grant it root access.
You place a lot of trust in the developers of apps like this that your information wont get misused in anyway.
Only 2 more days until its over! Fill out the form now!
hey I filled out the form but didn't get anything in my email do I have to wait more or what?
Do you need to wait for a license to be activated? Filled out the form and haven't received an e-mail and the license status hasn't changed.
Really glad I saw this thread. Was looking for a good security app and I am really impressed by how well cerberus can control your phone.
Edit: sorry I need to slow down a bit. From the website:

Posted with SwiftKeyX on my CM9 Motorola Photon!
I hopped on this. Was looking for a good standalone app that provided web based methods of access. Thanks. I shared this post on my facebook profile as well to get the word out. I know a couple of co-workers that could of used this including one who did actually lose their phone.
The browser interface is pretty awesome. Couldn't believe how accurate this app is. I'm glad that I finally decided to get on this at the right time!
Just curious if there were any other apps that offered the SMS control that this app does. It's probably the defining feature, since no data = no way to reach your phone. The SMS idea is honestly amazing.
However, I'm curious to see the battery hit (since I would assume it's constantly active). Battery's the main reason why I leave something like webkey off by default...

the developer claims there is no battery drain until you activate the app via web commands or sms commands, it's no different than any dormant app on your device. since Cerberus isn't broadcasting anything or doing anything until you tell it to, it's logical that there is no impact on CPU or battery.
i've been using it for a few days now and i can't say my battery drains any faster than usual.
as for another "find my device" app that takes sms commands, avast! mobile security does. i use it regularly for the lost device protection and firewall capabilities. if you don't have google voice, avast will also take care of blocking calls and sms for you too. i have only recently switched to Cerberus because of the free life time service and web interface, avast does not offer a web interface for finding your lost device yet. also, avast will run constantly, due to it's more robust nature. you can install the theft aware portion of avast! and discard the main app though, putting it on par with Cerberus' offering.
really really thanks, I was just looking for something like this!
My free trial ended about 2 months ago and since I am 14 and parents don't trust a 14 year old with a credit card. I couldn't get the life time license but this might be my chance.
Thanks for this awesome offer. Really powerful app. Hope I don't have to use it...
Love this app! I had been using Mobile Defense beta for quite some time as it had a great web UI with options. But this has a lot more options. Personally, it didn't pinpoint my location as great, but that could just be my device (rooted Thunderbolt). Still, it was close and I'm sure with some extra work I'd be able to find my device if it were ever lost.
I like the extra options for rooted users. Mobile Defense had this. The ability to embed it in the ROM is very helpful.
This is feature rich and even without free license offer, I still purchased this because I appreciate all the work that the dev put into this! For that 14yo kid on here, you need to tell your parents to purchase this for you. Any smartphone nowadays is worth $$. My kids have lost phones before and for $4, it's better insurance than having to buy a new phone! So tell your parents this..."buy me the $4 app and keep my phone, that you bought, safe...or pay full/partial price if it gets lost or stolen." To me, as a parent who buys his kids' phones, this is a no-brainer. Not to mention the fact that as a worried parent, I can login and creep my kids' phones to see where they are. Yeah, I do that. Don't judge. When you have teenagers some day, you'll understand.
As far as gripes, the only one I have is that a better How-to/Help section could be way better. I like the Q/A type, but it's short on useful information such as exactly how to use the wipe features. Yes, these are no-brainers, but do I get a chance to cancel if I accidentally hit it? What's the process? Is it like the government nuke big red button? Once you hit, you can't undo? Maybe a better tutorial would be better. Also, exactly how do you use the SMS feature? I found a number embedded in the menu within the app, but the Help section on the website just mentions SMS commands. If I never looked at that number, how would I know how to use this function?
When you write how-to sections, you have to write it from the perspective that you're explaining to someone who has NO IDEA how to use this. If you know the app inside and out, and then create a how-to section, most likely you're going to leave a lot of information out.
Keep up the great work!!
