what's that? mobile cash withdrawel? Yeah, i want that app too...
noh, just kidding... i dunno know if there's such app?

there is an app... but its for the google android phone and iphone only... which is kinda retarded....
i really hope that they make a mobile banking app (BoA) for winmo phones.. i would most definitely utilize it

try this: http://www.brothersoft.com/mobile/bank-of-america-mobile-banking-11452.html

oo wow nice... but i am a little cautious on this one... anyone try it yet?? any reviews? forgive my hesitation.. its just that i rather not give out my info to a third party app,,, (even though it says BoA??) i just figured that if it was officially licensed by BoA.. then it would be available through them as well... hmmm

o ya.. doesn't work

If you go to the bank of america website the app is on there.

^ It's not, only iPhone, Android and Blackberry devices.

yea like i said before... i really hope they finally develop one for windows mobile... especially the hd2... i mean COME ON!!

it is pretty bad considering that windows mobile is the top device used to access bank of america's mobile banking site.
I read that on their site a couple months back, guess its changed now, here's what their site says:
To access Mobile Banking, customers simply go to http://www.bofa.mobi/ on their phone's web browser and enter their Online Banking ID and passcode to access their accounts. Apple iPhone, RIM Blackberry and Microsoft Windows Mobile devices are the most popular ones used by mobile banking customers.

still should be an app although i'm not too bothered by their mobile site other than right after you log in it takes you to a page that just says "welcome to mobile banking"

I was told by a rep at the bank if you contact them and request a winmo app and there are a lot of others doing the same then they will do it.

It's annoying how huge companies like Bank of America won't make an app for winmo. They have many business customers that use this platform and also use BoA. Strange that they don't seem to get that.

Bank of America App
Hello all,
Try this .....
I think this is what you all are looking for.

This is one of the things i do not get about iphone mostly...they have one bagfrillion apps so that they can do do things that can be done by their browser..and have been since the beggining...is there really a dirrefence if its an app or a bookmark that you tap onto?
how lazy do people have to be ?

the bofa.mobi site never works for me when i use opera 9.7 (hate opera 10). it's just very annoying to have to open pocketIE in order to use bofa.mobi

If you have a cooked rom, you have to do opera:config and put the original user agent for your phone back in. BoA doesn't like generic user agent strings for some reason. Usually a google search will turn up the phone's original UA setting.
Hope this helps.

Streaming Adult Content

I work for one of the largest Video On Demand porn sites in the world. My question is do you guys and gals think there would be interest in a program in the vain of V-Tap for adult content? I know that you can stream from our sites directly with WM phones, but it seems to take a hell of a lot of data and memory usage, especially with Opera Mobile. So give it to me straight pervs would this be worth trying to pitch to the bosses about?
Ha! 45 people have read this and no one has had the guts to say something.
I say go for it! No shame in my game, brotha'.
I say go for it man!
Good idea mate! Just go for it
Do people pay for this service to get it into a v-tap type of software?
I'll be your first beta tester!

Just so no one gets their hopes up, this is a really big IF. These are just ideas that are swimming around in my head.

Ha! I was thinking the same thing. I was just thinking, "damn did I just get black listed?". I guess I'm just trying to do a little bit of market research. My company also runs Pornotube which I think could easily be adapted for mobile devices a la some Vtap like software for the phone. I'm getting documentation together right now about it, the only problem is I really know jack about programming especially on a mobile device.

No people do not pay for this software. If we decided to do it on our adult version of Youtube I also do not think there would be a charge, but because it is adult content, for safety (don't want the kiddies on it) reasons it might be smarter to have a small monthly fee (5$) something like that.

This could be possible, if the execs went for it we would probably need Beta testers. Of course there is the problem of ensuring the Beta testers are of age, but more then likely I would turn to this site for beta testing. So just keep your fingers crossed.
bring it on !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Over 300 views and only 7 people have an opinion? Come on people, at least PM me.
well i think people were looking because they thought that it was a post about a serivce.. if you had that many hits im sure youd have alot of support if the program went into development.. **** be the first to have a niche in the mobile market im sure youd be stabing yourself in the foot later if you dont... look how many things are becoming mobile.. mobile banking, youtube , music everything i say do it
I do believe its a good idea, but only if its 100% free... I don't see many ppl paying even 1$ as a monthly fee.
Unfortunately there is just no way it would be free. Trust me who doesn't want free porn? But the company I work for is in the business to make money first and then please people second. It just doesn't work that way to give free porn. Hell even sites that do give away content for free pester you with so many banner ads it's almost not even worth it. I think Pornotube would be about the only thing that could be free on the company's end.

You could always put small (like 10 sec or so) ad before each video plays, to get advertising revenue. That way it would stay free on the user end.
Honestly.. where would the internet be without P&P (pron and pirates)???
Contact me directly, if your interested, i have an idea to sell you that might just take mobile pron to the next generation with an app that is already well under development for other uses...
i have several ways of streaming adult contact to my device.. orb is one but the others are a little more complicated. Go's like this. access the site (usually wmv streaming sites) copy link location, open media player or tcpmp and open file or location and paste that link and click open and 70% of the time it works.

I'm afraid that there is no winmo port nor any news about it, however it would be one of the coolest games for hd2 ever.
Might be able to get the swf file from the website version of the game running via flash lite on the hd2 (not tried)
That sucks why does the crappy iphone have all the good apps. Would be amazing if the HD2 could port the whole apple appstore
been waiting for this to be released on our HD2 for quite a while now.

Probably because winmo phone owners don't support the microsoft app store enough to entice enough professional developers to put in the effort. They're happy to insult it even though its success/failure is probably related to the life blood of the windows mobile platform and their phone. I don't like Itunes/iphone as it is a horriblly closed platform - but millions buy from its app store so professional developers write for it and the platform (in terms of apps) flourishes. Yes, we've got a great freeware scene on windows mobile - but that doesn't attract professional developers who want to pay their bills with their talent.
I'd be interested to know why some of the best apps on XDA aren't on there - not every winmo/hd2 phone owner is going to go via XDA (unfortunately) but most will load up the app store at one point or another - xda could make a big difference to the perception of the microsoft app store (and hence the windows mobile platform as a whole) by releasing their best apps there too. Snowballs don't roll unless they're pushed.

Its rather costly to put apps on Marketplace. And for the people who like to create free apps, it's counterproductive.
let's face it, winmo users have been used to sideloading apps for a decade...it isn't gonna change anytime soon.

IMO, winmo users are completely different with Winphone 7 users

It's not costly at all to put apps on marketplace. You can get five apps put on marketplace for just $99. My first app made that $99 back on the 1st night it went on sale (and that's just a UK only one) with four app submissions still to go included in the price. Even apps at the most minimal cost will recoup that 99. Why is their such a negative feeling to (our own) the microsoft app store. Especially from us! It's better T&C's than the apple one - and that one we're completely jealous of! We're our own enemy.
XDA could get behind our app store, support it, and be a massive contributor to it!, but mainly just stop insulting it or criticising it, or only ever mentioning the freeware app stores - we're the only ones who'll end up suffering for it if it never grows and therefore never attracts more quality apps and therefore our platform just dies from lack of professional developer support. I love winmo, but phones these days are being judged by their app stores, just look at http://best-apps.t3.com/ as an example - it doesn't make any mention of the thousands of freeware winmo apps available, or xda apps, just what is in the official app store - and it's lack of apps there is making winmo look crap.
I really wish too that some of the top app writers from the iphone would port some of their wonderful apps, but I can also see why they don't bother with the way the app store is perceived at the moment.
XDA could make a real difference to our platform - but I'm worried we prefer to 'hide away' in our web site with a superior look on our faces rather than actually getting out and showing the world what hd2's etc. can really do.
it works on iphone

[Q] wp7 apps that piss you off

I'll start.
Groupme: This has to be the worst app that has ever been designed for any platform. I understand that it's in preview but i've emailed their support atleast 15 times. Not even one reply. What the hell guys? You guys are owned by Microsoft (skype) for gods sake.
They recently released an update and it doesn't even include a mango update. It just adds live tiles, which don't work. Not even once.
Every time i open the app i get "Push notification ChannelOpenFailed error occurred. This channel does not exist but could not be opened. Try opening the channel again. (-2129589901) 0"
I've reinstalled the app 3 times. I've emailed their support, i've contacted them on twitter. They're just ignoring everything about windows phone. This is unacceptable for a company that is owned by Microsoft.
I know some people are going to say this is just an app and you can use the group feature in mango. No, i can't. This app uses data and it works with smart phones as well as dumb phones (via sms). The group chat feature in mango doesn't allow the other people to respond back and talk to each other. This is key for me. I have a group with some people and we need to be able to communicate with each other.
It's things like this that make me want to drop windows phone.
I love windows phone (you can check my post history) but i am really pissed off now. I'm tired of waiting for things to improve. Mango is excellent but it's 2011 and the platform itself doesn't mean anything. It's all about the 3rd party apps.
I mean, look at whatsapp for android and ios and then check it for windows phone. They say they need more time to develop a decent app. Mango beta has been out for months. What's talking so long? Skype? Words with friends? Where are these apps? Is it lack of motivation cause of the 1% market share?
I am seriously considering android ice cream sandwich if google can get their act together and make android as smooth and reliable as my htc windows phone.
trust me...you will find other things to complain about once you switch. The problem I see alot is that people expected a perfect platform. I got bad news for you...there is no such thing. Not Apple, not Android, not WP.
Dude, I know how you feel.
I will be switching my WP7 in the next months. Unfortunately, it's just not the moment. I dont want iPhone 4S, I want iPhone 5. And Android just sucks.
I have no options at all ;/

Sorry, but i never said i expected a perfect platform and i believe windows phone is still the best operating system for any phone. It's the 3rd party apps that are killing it for me.
Microsoft has literally tried to bribe people to develop for them but there just doesn't seem to any interest in developing quality apps.
The core OS can only take you so far. But for what it's worth, i think wp is better than ios and android. But android seems it's better overall.
If something doesn't work you can customize it and fix it yourself.
I used to put a new energy rom on my windows mobile every time nrg came out with an update, so i have no problems putting in the effort and time it takes to tweak an OS. Unfortunately this isn't the case for 3rd party apps. Which is why android seems like a better choice for me.

This right here proves you're an idiot. You hate the OS and want to switch but will only switch if the OS you're considering switching too can be as good as your current OS. See how stupid that sounds? You come across as one of those miserable people that can have a million positives but one minor negative is the end of the world for you. You will never be happy with an OS.
It makes perfect sense if you read the complete post. I said multiple times that wp as an OS is superior but overall android seems better because of customization and 3rd party apps, but i'll have to see what they do with ice cream sandwich. I wouldn't switch to gingerbread.
What part of that are you having problem comprehending?

so you think all apps on other platforms didn't take months and came out perfect when launch...please.
You should know better you are an early adopter to a brand new platform and it will take yrs to refine the OS...just like android and iphone...who took even much longer to reach the current stage.
Yeah i definitely overestimated the brand name of Microsoft.
The only reason android and apple took so long was because times were different back then. It was a new idea and a new way of things. Now, Microsoft has had time to learn from them and should have played things differently. Mango is how the phone should have been released.
I mean, even now, most apps that come out are released for app store and market. Take any bank, or any commercial app. It's just those 2 platforms. Hell, even my local bar has an android/ios app.
There is no awareness of windows phone. It's a shame because it's such a great operating system and it has the potential to be number one.

Because of one apps and you blamed the whole OS.
Let's me ask you a question.
Are there any mobile OS that have better built-in Social Network support like Windows Phone? And how many Facebook users out there?
And return to the question: You know WP7 is a locked OS and you still bought it, and now you scream out loud and say it is stupid because it can't install 3rd Apps? So, look like you aren't a smart buyer.
if you want 3rd Apps so bad, why don't you register for the Developers Account, and get it unlocked so you can install custom .xap?

after i read this sentence, you are no more than a stupid guy to me.
So, let's me ask you a question, when you send a messege to a group, everyone in the group will receive the same messege. but do they know how many people (which one, what are their numbers...) that you send that messege? And Why do they have to send it back to you and x people in your group?
For an example, you have a group of 15 best friends and you decide to throw a party tonight. You texted the whole group and invite them to the party, some will say "yes", some will say "no", so, why the hell the guy said "yes" even care about the guys said "no"? And is it necessary for him to know about it?
If you want group communicate, i would suggest to visit them instead, or you can do group Skype or simple just create a group chat on PC. Why? Because everytime you send one messege to a group of x people, you have send x messege totally and believe me, if you don't use unlimited plan and you have a long season of group chat on your phone, you will not happy with your phone bill by the end of the month.
If what you said come true, there isn't necessary to have a group chat feature in Skype, Yahoo or Windows Live Messenger, which can be done for free and 100x better on PC.

Or you don't understand the "3rd Party Apps"?
3rd Apps is the apps that developed by individual or company that is not associated with the OEM, like you can develop almost and .cab by your old Windows Mobile 6.5, and you can do the samething with Dev Unlocked Windows Phone 7.

It's fine to blame the OS. The Developers didn't make the OS have only 1/3rd the API support it needed to support a ton of apps on release.
Microsoft gave them the middle finger and they took it at face value. That's why they're prioritizing WP7 at such a low place right now.
Because iOS/Android sales more phones have more users. It's more advantageous for them to work on Honeycomb/ICS/iOS5 app updates then work on WP7 ports.
People on this forum can yell and scream "we need AppX" all day and all night, but when you get thousands of downloads in the Andorid/iOS App Markets per day and dozens per day in WP7 the choice is clear which one goes on the backburner.
Also, all decent Android phones from Samsung and HTC come with Social Integration. TW4 phones come with Twitter/Facebook/LinkedIn integration. Samsung did People Hub before Microsoft decided what to call it. That's nothing to rave about. It's actually kind of embarassing that they tried to market that as some sort of new and innovative feature. We've already gone over this before. Same for groups.
WP7 did do some innovative things with the way it allows you to pin sublets of Apps to the home screen, but a lot of the marketed built-in functionality already existed for years. The main selling point of the OS is the user experience, not the features.

BBM For Android closer to reality

Feel like I am kinda bringing up an old fire that originally was bs.
That said there is new information to support this.
There have been screen shots of a test version of bbm (Who knows if they are legit). With that in mind Research In Motion is now releasing Android into their management services. This seems to bring the reality of BBM one step closer.
The burning question would then be will it be free, a one time purchase or a monthly subscription fee.
Would you be willing to pay rim a monthly fee for bbm?
No thanks
For me if you want BBM like all the little schoolgirls out there then buy a blackberry... no offence but I much prefer whatsapp anyway, its free and extremely reliable, I see no reason why ppl would pay for BBM which is only for blackberry (as of now) when they can get great apps like whatsapp and ping chat which are on 4 OS's (Android, Blackberry, IPhone and Nokia and more than likely WP7 now Nokia has teamed up with them)
Just my view dude

Isn't Whatsapp like a one year trial or something
I would use bbm on android. Using Whatsapp is still kinda cumbersome compared to bbm. Love my android though and wouldn't go back to blackberry
i would not use it i prefer whatsapp for free sms`s over 3g and viber for free calls over 3g
It's a 'yes' from me.
I have corporate clients who are on berry with BBM and use group chat, so I carry one just for them.
So for me a plus is that I can avoid carrying a second phone about; therefore even a paid-for BBM on Android would probably end up saving me money.
The downside is that my BB practically never goes flat, whereas I generally carry (at least) two batteries for my sensation.

You're using it wrong then.

I'd use BBM on my Android since a lot of my friends over sea have Blackberry's.
Oddy enough Blackberry's seem to be pretty big outside of the states. However I wouldn't pay a fee to use a BBM app.
Catfiz
my first post ... maybe you can try this one Catfiz it's like BBM, search on Google keyword "Catfiz"
Not sure I would have a use for it anymore. It's been a little while since I had my Curve, but the one thing I didn't like about BBM was that at the time I couldn't turn it off. Maybe things have changed, but with most people I know on gchat, it just one more thing to run in the background.
If someone of your friends which own a BB cannot install third party applications due to companies restrictions (this is why several companies are still using BB... cause they can control employes devices and give them access to mail servers and other stuff in a secure way for them) it will be useful to use BBM over our android devices without the needs to buy a BB only to use BBM.
At the end you can choose to use it or not.
there's a need for devices that don't have some kind of data plan and are wifi only. I wanted to use whatsapp, but can't on my xoom as I have a wifi version. Pity as it sounded good.
sooo... we're now in April of 2013, is BBM for Android any closer to reality?

Google announces privacy changes across products; users can’t opt out

Do you think anyone can develope a program to prevent google from capturing this information about their users? Maybe at least on a android based platform even. This really chaps my a$$
Code:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/technology/google-tracks-consumers-across-products-users-cant-opt-out/2012/01/24/gIQArgJHOQ_story.html?wpisrc=al_comboNE_b
Whats the big deal? Google cuts down on paperwork and the policies haven't changed, they are just merged/ It eliminated redundancies and wasted effort.
what difference does it make if you are giving your personal information to Gmail or to youtube? If google has it, Google has it, period. It is still a Google based service, combining the private policies of all of the services into one makes perfect sense.
Google has stated they still have no plans to change how they handle the data.
The big deal is I NEVER CLICK YES for gooble to collect anything on me, which means I "opt-out" now I have a contract on a phone I dont want to touch. great, a 700$ paperweight , not including the service. screw you google.
I will not tap "yes" for google
Are you sure that they are 700 $?
Rage! An ad/marketing company makes my OS and wants to show me ads relevant to me rather than random ads. A company wants to make money off of a product they've created and are heavily vested in? Who'd have thunk it?
Don't like it? There's other choices out there. WP7 is pretty hot ;-)

Wait til wp7 phones get ads lol
Have to say though to op its not like google are pushing ads to your device. If you browse net you get same problem. I think they have messed up somewhere cos on my laptop I always get ads for things I already have. But I don't get ads on my phone unless on a webpage or using an ad funded app so no different to a pc or any internet device.

Hence the lol
But the point is google aren't sending ads any different than on a pc. Whatever phone pc or tablet people use makes no difference, google and others can and do still collect data when you browse.
And some collect other data even when you opt out such as wp7 collecting user data that caused them to get sued last year. Its impossible to have a smartphone and not have someone collect data of some sort.

Bing probably does other things that would scare the hell out of you if you were aware of them. Google is nosy. M$ is evil.

Color me intrigued, what makes Microsoft more evil than google?
What would be the best way to avoid this?
a problem I could see is if like, I have my son over on a weekend and he jumps on...idk, nickelodeon. com or something, will it show ads for all the porn sites I visit?
I sure as hell wouldn't want him reporting that to his mother and even possibly the appropriate authorities...
just curious but in what way is this different, if not dramatically worse, than everything CarrierIQ was accused of a few months back.
I wonder if this will affect things like StartPage which bills itself as being completely private but is "enhanced by Google"
This is why I have dead email addresses. I've got one for Gmail just for my phone. Never use it for anything else. Just the phone.
Don't Be Evil, just make lots and lots of money.
The real problem is the internet. There are always the spammers that get a kick out of just breaking someone else's things, and that's why almost all websites log things. It also creates privacy concerns for those trying to follow the rules. So if it bothers you so much that Google knows you search for a laptop, and it suggests that there is a better, cheaper one, next time you use gmail, then you have problems. I personally love this, now when I go between Google services, I don't have to log in again. Google provides you with great services for free, why not give them the ability to advertise to you? The world is dangerous, get over it.
Or you could do the most practical thing, ad block. Its on Firefox and chrome, so that should cover almost everybody. If your stuck with ie, well, god help you.

Carrier IQ records keystrokes, text messages and other private stuff Google does not. And without even telling anyone it was there.

You agreed to their terms of service. As has been pointed out, the information is used so they can show ads that pertain to you specifically. I view this as a good thing.
If you don't want a company to know your browsing and purchasing habits, you should buy a cabin in the woods and live off the grid, no electronics, no grocery stores, completely self sufficient.
Good luck!
