Does anyone know the name or have the "Super Power Control Widget" found in Cyanogen RC2 ROM?
It's really sweet and would love to use it! I had to switch off cm6 RC2 cuz it was draining my battery like no other, even with Snap v7.11
it is coded by the cm team. you may be able to pull it from the rom though. as for the battery draw, i have been on cm6 since the very first nightly. while my battery isnt astounding it isnt much worse than anything else i had tried prior. did you wipe battery stats and "calibrate" the battery?
Switched Pro is what you're looking for: http://www.androidzoom.com/android_applications/tools/switchpro-widget_gpdm.html

I tried pulling the settings and settingsprovider .apk's from cyanogen and replacing them in Damage control and it was a disaster so if it is possible it is certainly going to take a bit more effort than just swapping out a file or two.
I'd love to see this available as well.
switch pro is nice but its not the same. Switch pro doesnt go vertical like the CM6 power control does. Plus switch pro has four diffrent widget sizes in the widget menu. I am a neat freak and all those widget sizes make me unhappy. Thanks OP I didnt even see the new power control in CM6 I figured it was the same as the one from RC1. Now I can get rid of switch pro and things are a bit neater lol.
Also on RC2 and after 13 hours I was at 14% battery. Early on in the day I was texting and calling just a little I also did a quick web search and played a game for about 10 minutes, after 10 hours like that I was at 47% which also was equal to 2 hours and 46 minuts of up time. A few hours later I surfed the web for about 1.5 hours bringing my phone down to 14% I forgot to check uptime before plugging it in, but if my estimate is correct it should be close to 4 hours plus of up time with a total of 13 hours without a charge. Thats awesome! I have gmail being pushed and a PSN widget refreshing every one hour. I no longer have beautiful widgets refreshing because I clicked the setting to have it refresh after wake. So actually I set it to sync at 16 hours since you cant turn it off. Also if you wake the phone within 10 minutes the beautiful widgets wont refresh, thus it wont wast battery. More then 10 mintus and it will refresh. So I am not sure if thats heavy use or moderate use. On another not I dont have any battery savers installed, I dont use anything to kill apps. Instead I monitor my system with system panel and running services. I make sure nothign is constantly running and I watch running services. I do not kill programs in running services I look to it for times and referance only. Also dont look at running services and get confused by things like pure music showing up as running. Personaly my running services shows pure music, tikl ptt and about 10 or more other things. Just because its showing it doesnt mean its hogging your battery lol.
Check out system panel and click the help button its very informative.
Power control plus in the market looks similar to the cm6 widget. Haven't tried it yet though.

Try Extended Controls. It's way better than SwitchPro.

I have had my Nexus S since Christmas. I love it! It is my 5th Android phone and by far the best, up until a couple of days ago I had not experienced any lag at all with the phone.
However recently the phone has been laggy, the back button seems to get stuck (with the backlight off) and it is starting to get unresponsive.
I am trying to work out what is wrong and I wonder if I have installed too many apps... I have >100 including lots of games. Almost all are installed to the SD card.
Could this be the cause of my problems?
Why would anyone install 100 game? I have well let me look hold.
1min later 423 games on SD thats close to 1.91gb but I only install 2-3games and when I finish I install another. Also your problem is you don't have BS service disabled which you should do and make sure they don't restart after shutdown on boot.
To be fair, of the >100 apps, i would say 30 are games
What is BS Service and how can I stop apps from starting automatically after reboot?
Huh Samsung failed again as Google supported them supplying folks with 512mb ram in 2011 talk about still unofficial stand on post mid2010 standard for new 2011 era. You wish you had that extra bit of ram now didn't ya
Anyways well you can use apps like Autostarts or Startup Auditor to disable service on boot/fc on restart. BS service lol well I think you know what "BS" means just disable anything you don't need which may be diff from person to person which is only what you know.

i'll not be surprised at all, as i have just well over 377 apps/games installed
games usually take most of the space, as it needs to download additional files from the net
i have to constantly keep deleting stuff to make space for more games / apps
i'll say 70% of my space is utilized by games, and 30% by apps
in which they are both shared by MP3 collection and MTV clips collection, as there is simply not enough space for movies

nope
i have 4 screen of widgets in the launcher desktop
and the only thing i would consider lag (because all the apps were moved to SD) is the ICON loading time, but it doesn't slowdown the launcher, it just shows with the default green AOS icon instead of the pretty ones
using GO Launcher EX as my default, more features than LauncherPRO / ADW yet faster and FREE!
same with GO SMS
both offers great skin capabilities, and lots of FREE themes (skins) to download
Generally, lag is a result of a poorly coded app sucking your processing power down the drain.
I have uninstalled a load of apps and everything is now running smoothly again.
Just need to figure out which one is causing the problem now...
Thanks guys
Details on my phone (just in case you want them):
-Device is on Weapon G2x 2.4 ROM
-Using JuiceDefender free
-Just got the device on the 26th of this month
-Background data is on, but as far as I know, no apps are on push notifications except for WhatsApp
-The only thing on auto sync my main gmail account, and Sync Gmail is the only item checked.
So this morning after I unplugged my phone, I stayed on 100% for about 1 hour and 10 minutes until I received a phone call (which was only 1 minute) then the battery finally dropped down to 99%.
So I thought cool, on idle I get around an hour before the percentage drops. Then I browse for about 15 minutes, then about 2 hours after that I send an MMS after looking at a picture in the Gallery app. So I put the phone down after noting in my head the percentage.
About 20 minutes later, I check my screen and see that the percentage dropped by 1%. Really weird. I didn't think too much about it but wish it wouldn't drop so fast. Then after another 15-20 or so minutes it drops 1% again. I'm not getting that 1% per ~1 hour drop rate on idle. I look into Battery use and see the Gallery app at the very top. Here's a picture of it:

*TLDR* - Was getting a 1% drop of battery life per ~1 hour of idling, went into Gallery app to send an MMS, then started getting 1% drop of battery life per 15-20 minutes of idling.
Really odd. Could the Gallery app being in the background be the reason for this weird battery drainage I'm experiencing? Or am I being too picky? Hahah. Thanks for reading and thanks for your input in advance. I do thank posts.
I think ur watching ur phone too closely cuz its new. I was doing that too. The battery is fine but using 4g+screen indeed drains the battery fairly quick.
Also remember that battery readings aren't always 1100% accurate, so it could drop 5% in a minute and then stay there for 2 hours

Cool thanks! I am probably getting crazy on checking my phone battery haha. Alright, sounds good. I wonder why they're not always accurate.
Bumping an old thread, but this is happening with mine also, if I open the gallery or camera for anything they are at the top of the list for battery usage all day. Do they stay on in the background and drain the battery?
From what I've seen it is a bug I'm the battery reporting stats.

So of course I know YouTube uses a lot of battery when watching some video's, which I do a lot. This, however, isn't the problem I'm experiencing.
So lets say my phone is 100% charged and still on its charger, and I start watching a video or two. Then I close the app (still in multitask bar) and take it off the charger. I use my phone a bit, put it in my pocket and just forget about it. After a few minutes/hours battery has dropped almost 10% (depends on time). Checking battery stats shows YouTube using most of the battery, more than screen and other processes.
Here's a screenshot of today. Just normal battery usage, then i watched two 4 minute videos over WiFi, closed YouTube and put it away. Got about 10% drop in the following 30 minutes.

Clearing the YouTube app from recents does get rid of the problem, but it seems that this is something unusual, and I hoped someone had a more permanent solution.
My device is running on stock rom with Franco kernel v50 (Vomer settings), although I've had this problem with earlier versions of Franco kernel with other settings. Furthermore I'm using Xposed with App Settings, AppOpsXposed, Gravitybox and Unicon. Using custom DPI for whole system and certain apps (using App Settings). If I forgot some crucial information I'll hear it.
I hope someone can help.
Reboot the device and see if the problem continues. It probably just got hung up the one time.

from your screenshots, youtube doesnt look like your problem. it only used 18% of your battery thats already used, and only kept your phone awake for 2 and a half minutes. when you close an app in your app via the multitask bar, you arent actually closing the app(its the same as just backing out of the app). but google play services is taking much more battery than it should.
Greenify.
I had the same issue, but only happens sometimes. If you check FKU - CPU usage you'll notice sometimes it will be on four cores and as soon as you close it from recents it will revert back to two cores. Also happens on Instagram if im using it for a long time.
Rebooting won't fix anything, been having this problem for months now, just always cleared recents to avoid the drain. Plus its a consistent problem, i can predict it draining battery when i leave it open, and it stops draining when I remove it from recents. That's why I'm confused. I will try Greenify, and thanks for the tips everyone.
Still, I find it strange that, even though you say the drain can't be from YouTube, it's always YouTube causing the problem in the first place. And the thing about Google Play Services, mostly it's this high in the list. It reports 7m52s CPU and 43m11s Keep Awake right now (1hr after OP). Is this not good? What can I do to fix that?
I recently got one of this phones off ebay deal. So far the phone has been really good (after going to 5.1.1) other than the battery life which is super terrible. I leave for office at 8AM and by the time I am back around 6:30 in evening its already down to 8-9% with barely 1 hour of SOT. While using the phone I can clearly see battery going down by 1 percent every two minutes.
One of the other things I noticed is it takes a while to charge battery. Almost takes 4 hours to charge it.
Have done everything listed in various thread on XDA to fix battery drain but nothing is helping. To summarize I have
- Rooted my phone
- Disable AT&T enhanced 4G LTE
- Tweak setting with kernel auditor
- Disable ATT bloatware
- Install greenify and amplify
- Installed CF.Lumen to control brightness
Not sure what I am missing here now. Any help is appreciated from you guys.
Does the phone feel warm on the back when it's just sitting?
If so, you probably have a runaway app. You can check the battery section in options and see what's eating battery.
I had this a while ago on nexus 5 with the ebay app, the same also happened to a friend of mine with the same app.
hello, there.
i had the same problem, it seems that your phone is not going to deep sleep mode.
i fixed my problem with Nitro X, you can find it here on xda.
now i am very happy with my battery, for example now it says on battery for 2 days 15h 29min 22s and still 60% battery remaining.
hope this helps.

It only gets warm when playing some games. I will look at some of the apps as you suggested. Thanks,

Thanks. I am gonna give it a shot. I see they have 2 versions - X86 and Non-X86. which one should I flash? Also since flex 2 doesn't support any recovery (twrp etc) should I just flash it with Flashfire app?
hello kunalmalviya,
i downloaded the non x86 (=the arm version).
i do not know about flashfire, you should ask on the forum.
Please click the thanks! button if that helped.
PEACE.
Try reflashing latest software via LG Flash Tool.
I have no issue with battery life. It is slightly better than on LG G2 which is awesome. (3-4 hours SOT without any problems, no tweaks, no root, brigthness on 100%, Wi-Fi, NFC and LTE enabled all the time, Google Now enabled, Google Location Services enabled and lot of apps running in background).
Standby / idle battery has been terrible. I've googled and barely found anything on this issue. The first time I activated the phone it was google play services near the top. Did a factory reset and I've been using since.
Battery drain is worse when no data / wifi is connected. If I connect to wifi , battery drain is less. A step below having airplane mode. I hate charging the phone to 85-100% just for it to drop considerably over 12-24 hours. I've gotten between 2-4 hours of Screen on time but I feel like it should average 5 hours atleast if I use the phone moderately.
Would betterbatterystats help in this situation?
Goggle Backup Transport or other cloud apps running in background.
Best to an adb edit or package disabler to kill it.
In lieu of doing the above or in conjunction, temporarily disable Google play Services when not needed like at night.
I had a similar problem, lowering the brightness level in the settings helped a little. I also recommend using Wi-Fi in places where it is available instead of 4g, which is much more energy-consuming and disable all background applications that are not needed at the moment. If it doesn't help, only useful solution to change the battery, if it's possible.
Here's an update . Fully charged battery and just let it idle. Google play services running for 11 hours

Mine does it as well. After night (6-8hrs) drop about 4%, disabled network and 5G, no changes with airplane mode, another flip also has this problem, battery drain does not occur when device is off

You do realise that battery "drain" over those 11 hours was 0.2%
That's tiny in the grand scheme of things .. or am i missing something?

As long as other play services dependencies like Backup Transport didn't suck down a huge amount during that time...

First of all you shouldn't be charging to 100% ever. There is an option to stop at 85%. Enable it then use package disabler or adb to stop tons of background garbage.
