The company I work for wants to integrate the Xoom into our IT dept and such, but we need to be able to lock down and maybe password protect the VPN, WiFi settings, ect, so where Users cannot simply go through and find out the VPN password, or the wifi hotspot password. surely this is possible?
Any suggestions?
Keep in mind, this is for a company so we dont need to void the warranty on the devices by rooting them.
Thanks
I have Motorola Droid X2, setup with corporate Sync – the corporate sync policy is forcing encryption to be enabled, is there a way to disable the encryption?

hi
i was in version 4.1.2 and i could simply add a VPN if i had only the pattern lock method enabled. but since i updated to 4.4.2 i no longer can use pattern lock to add credentials. when ever i try to add a VPN i am asked to change my lock screen method to PIN or Password and other options are also grayed out with message of "disabled by administrator encryption policy or credential storage"
is this a kit-kat policy so i can not add a VPN?! and how can i lower this policy so i just add the VPN with lock screen method only.
thanks.
I use VPN Root. Its a stand alone app. Ive never had to use a passcode. Granted it on my M8 but still, It might work

Running a standard Galaxy S22 on Verizon. My employer, a cybersecurity company, forces me to use our company VPN on my phone, and the VPN icon is always in the notification bar up top. When I check in VPN settings, the option to run all the time is not checked, so I'm not sure when I'm actually connected through VPN. So several questions regarding this:
1. Is there a way to know when I'm actually going through the VPN and when I'm not?
2. Is there a way to temporarily disable the VPN? I've tried doing some things with smart devices around the house, and I can't connect directly to the devices unless I disable the VPN (at least, that's the message I've received from my Nest Thermostat and my Ring cameras). The only way I know is to delete the VPN service completely, but then I have to create a ticket with our help desk to have it reinstalled. That's why I'm looking to just disable periodically.
3. Can my employer see EVERYTHING I do on my phone including all browsing history and personal emails and texts?
Thank you
My guess is that an always-on VPN service - introduced with Android 7 - is running due to device settings controller setup what can't get temporarily deactivated.
