[APP] PayPal

After fighting with the PayPal app for longtime (and not finding a solution on the internet) I would like to share with you what I discovered.
My problem is related to the PIN authentication option, not working.
I have no problem authenticating with the email+password combination, but any attempt to authenticate with the #phone+PIN fails.
I discovered that the app checks the phone locale (language settings) and uses that setting in combination with the phone number.
I live in Italy (and have an Italian mobile operator) but I prefer to keep my phone (tablet, pc, etc.) set to English launguage.
That's the reason why the PIN authentication does not work.
If you have the same problem, you can check and try setting the phone to the same language of your mobile operator: you'll then see if the PIN authentication starts working.
I do not really know if this is a security feature (unlikely, since the locale can be changed very easily) or simply an alternative way to find the phone country code, but it would be much better if PayPal could change that to allow a more flexible international usage.

[Q] Add VPN with only pattern lock screen method

hi
i was in version 4.1.2 and i could simply add a VPN if i had only the pattern lock method enabled. but since i updated to 4.4.2 i no longer can use pattern lock to add credentials. when ever i try to add a VPN i am asked to change my lock screen method to PIN or Password and other options are also grayed out with message of "disabled by administrator encryption policy or credential storage"
is this a kit-kat policy so i can not add a VPN?! and how can i lower this policy so i just add the VPN with lock screen method only.
thanks.
I use VPN Root. Its a stand alone app. Ive never had to use a passcode. Granted it on my M8 but still, It might work

How many "locks" exist on Android?

I noticed my AT&T S5 didn't work on WiFi down here in Argentina as the AP used Channel 12 which is not included in the ROM's kernel. Very annoying! I had made sure to get the AT&T phone as they use the same frequency bands for non-LTE cellular as the telephone companies here. Unfortunately the boot loader is locked so I don't think I will be able to fix this issue.
But I got to thinking about the ways the phones can be locked down to restrict use. Here is my list which is likely not exhaustive. What am I missing?
Samsung "initial region" lock which requires 5 minute call
SIM lock to carrier
WiFi channels disabled (e.g. 12-14)
Screen lock w/ fingerprint, etc.
flash memory encryption, decrypt on boot
google accounts lock (needs account to enable after factory reset)
samsung account lock (needs account to enable after factory reset)
different frequencies for cellular coverage
bootloader locked
KNOX counter?
SIM card itself can be locked with pin
SIM card can require PUK code
Couple more:
SElinux restrictions
Permission managers
Wi-Fi tethering locks (rare on Android now)
App-specific locks (ie. Pin codes for banking apps)

Find my mobile - notificacion

Hi guys,
I have a galaxy S6 ROM movistar lollipop spain.
I am using find my mobile to prevent a future lost or stolen.
I have noticed that when you locate the mobile from the "findmymobile" website you received a notification in the mobile saying that the debice is being located, something that I would like to avoid just to prevent a thief to realiced that we are following his feet...
The notification comes from "remote controls " but I can uncheck the notification box in these apps...
Any idea?
I also have this problem, when I choose the option "block" in the findmymobile website I just can block the mobile but I dont have the option to block the on/off buttom. Could be that this feature is not avaible in all S6 or maybe is only avalible in android MM?
Thanks for the help.

S8/S8+ Oreo - Service Mode Gone?

Hi Guys,
Sorry if this has been mentioned before but is there a way of entering Samsung Service Mode i.e. to change network bands and to lock cells? it seems disabled from the Oreo update.
