Hi!
I managed to port some builds of Windows Phone 6.5 successfully to my Smartphone BenQ E72(Kyocera E4000), but I had problems with each of the builds of WP 6.5......The Wi-Fi dissapears often =S
In Windows Phone 6.0-6.1 this doesn't happen, only in Windows Phone 6.5....You must reboot the device and if you have luck, the WI-Fi appears again
Anyone have any idea why this happen?
Thanks
Sorry I'm not able to help, but I have the similar problem. The wifi often turns it self off and on again. It probably happens a few times every 10. minutes. I have no idea why, its not only with my home wifi, it does the same at work also.
I don't know why this issue happens only in Windows Phone 6.5....The Wi-Fi function dissapears from CommManager and Settings and there's no way to enable it...You must reboot the phone and the Wi-Fi function appears again (sometimes)
I've noticed some other roms with it playing up with other connection types- possibly its a flaw with the com manager.
Try looking for different solutions for the com manger? like 3rd party ones- or see if the 6.1 one can be copied to 6.5

Ok I am no newbie to this, but I am sick of the frustration that comes with this problem. I've had me TC for a couple months now and it will not be recognized with my PC. I've had this problem before.... deleting the partnership, changing the USB ports and settings, downloading the newest sync software, and shutting down the fire wall, yet nothing works. The only thing I can do is use Bluetooth, which is to slow to transfer files. I need some help here, because even backing up everything on the phone and doing a hard reset takes too long to restore what I have on it now.
try to unmark ->settings->connections->usbtoPC-> enhanced network functions.
sorry, i have a german one, so look for that function.
I have the same problem with my o2 xda orbit 2.
I found that if I turned off the bluetooth and wifi it connected ok but even that seems to have stopped working now.
I got it back
I shut off the windows firewall with Vista and it works every time now. This is odd since I always had it on before and never made a change to the settings. In fact once I had given permission for windows mobile center to run with the security I never had this problem before. All I can say is it is a serious pain to disable it every time I want to access my files on the phone.
the joys of activesync......
I'm running XP-Pro on both my home and desktop PC's
with my orbit 2 I have no problem connecting at home, but failed miserably at work (other than the first time after I'd installed activesync).
I'd concluded that it was my firewall settings (which are outside of my authority to alter) we're the cause of the problem and gave up.
What usually happens is an activesync connection is established (I alway click on cancel in the first box - because I don't want to sync files etc, just to be able to explore and install software), and then when I click on explore (after it says connected) it just hangs for a minutes or so, before disconnecting.
However, I hooked up my Orbit2 to my laptop in my hotel last night (to charge) and I noticed that I could explore. OK I thought, it was the firewall.
But then today I tried exactly the same thing, and we're back to the non communicating version.
Any ideas,
Any ways to force activesync into submission - even if just at the explore level?
Thanks
simple joys
Well Vista doesn't use active sync, but I'll try to give you what I have learned. First it always helps to have the latest version of the software. I'd delete active sync from the computer and end the partnership on the phone. The phone then says to hook it up with a computer to establish a connection. Before you do restart both. Download newest version from windowsmobile, install and restart again. Disable firewall and any antivirus ( it makes a difference ) and try to establish the new partnership. If that doesn't work sometimes the comm ports are wrong and you have to find out which your phone uses. Once I had a Moto Q9h unbranded that would not sync with USB no matter what I did from the start, but it would work with a bluetooth sync. That was the worst speed ever. Anyway Good Luck.
Thanks,
yes I am using the latest (for XP) active sync.
I also uninstalled it / re-installed it
I also deleted the profile
All to no avail
Virus / Firewall settings are locked on this laptop.
Same problem
I'm using vista, uninstalled and reinstalled the last version of ActiveSync, deleted the partnership and the phone does not not connect to the pc. I dunno what to do .
p.s. : firewall is off.
no sync with xp and vista
hi
I see that Im not alone...Isync my polaris with my personal pc (vista 32) and with my professional pc (xp pro).
my rom is Aserg (many rom tested before like Bepe....same PB)
its impossible to sync both pc. I have to erase partner ship each time I want to sync.
Im not sure, but I think that windows 61 is responsible. Is that possible ? thank you for helping me !

You said you updated active sync, but Vista doesn't use that program. You need to use Windows mobile device center. If you go to windowsmobile.com there is an update you can download that you install with the phone connected. That might work.

You have to delete every time, because once it is synced with one computer it establishes a relationship with that pc or laptop. The two operating systems use two different programs, but really the computers should have the partnership saved. I'm not sure if the phone can have two as well though.
Hi All,
This is my first post. I purchased the HTC pro yesterday and all seems to be working well apart from the annoying vodafone crap thats covering the htc pro software. I am looking to flash the phone and get the vodafone s/w off. However, the phone does not stay connected to windows mobile 6.1 very long, maybe 1 min max. It keeps disconnecting. Any idea's? Is there a work around for this?
The phone is connected to my laptop using the data cable provided, I'm using vista 32 bit o/s.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave
Excuse me?
Hi Dave,
sorry, but what exactly do you mean with "Windows Mobile"? Did you mean Windows Mobile Device Centre on your Vista machine?
Scott
Could be one of many things. Firewall problem, dodgy cable - do you have another you can try? Could be a hardware problem with the phones usb socket or the laptops usb socket... But the best advice I can offer is to use Windows XP when flashing roms - it is possible with Vista, but it's generally a simpler process with XP.
Hi,
Its Windows Mobile Device Centre, and I have downloaded the latest version. I will try this on my xp laptop. Ideally I want to get rid of all the vodafone crap Its annoying how it keeps on cutting out. I thought it might be some setup setting I would need to change?
Cheers,
I had the same problem with my HTC Touch Pro disconnecting from Device Centre, and fixed it by setting the 'Shut Down Device when not used for' on external power for more then 1 minute (I selected 30 minutes).
Hey,
I had done that via going to Power - Advanced - Unticked all of them.
Is that bit somewhere else on the phone?
Sorry I am new to HTC phones (
Cheers,
Touch Pro disconnecting from Computer
Hi,
I have similiar problem. I am using Windows XP Pro in my computer. The phone is disconnected if I pick up an incoming call. Once I hang up, it will automatically reconnect.
Any idea how to solve this?? Thanks
Managed to fix my issue, was a change in settings - usb to pc - and untick the enable advanced network functionality.
Cheers for your help, managed to flash the rom too!
Dave
Hi,
Go to setting, connection, USB to PC, untick Enable Advanced Network Functionality. Then my problem is fixed
Hi, I also have the problem, TP connects fine but after 1 minute it disconnects?
I have unticked the "Enable Advanced Network Functionality" and I have the:
'Shut Down Device when not used for' on external power
set to 30 minutes
Please does anybody have other possible solutions?

Hi all
i have a problem.
its not related to only one pc but all windows xp machines ive used ( im not going down vista route at all).
nearly everytime i connect my phone/ppc to windows, it crashes, ie, i get the windows 32 process host or something has an error then the RAPC window with 1 minute countdown comes on and my computer crashes or restarts.
then if i connect my ppc, its fine.
its not only with 1 pocket pc, its with the 2-3 ive tried.
they all run windows mobile 6 or 6.1...
anybody have the same problem and know what to do? activesync 4.5, u can see the icon connecting and it has made the noise its found the pocket pc, then bam...
i couldnt find this topic anywhere in xda, dont know where else to look
Cheers
It is not the PPC's at all - rather incompatible hardware on your desktop, such as an installed dial-up modem or other network device.
I had similar difficulties back in time on a Dell desktop until I removed a special DS Sound Card. A friend of mine had similar problems until he removed - following my recommendation - his dial-up modem card.
You will have to figure out what device on your desktop causes this incompatibility - please: before plugging out anything, remove the installed drivers first!
oh man. they are both laptops. thats going to be tough to remove something/uninstall drivers - doable but its going to annoy me everytime i log in
Hmmm,
try running your pc in save mode and run only what is needed for ActiveSync to work - not a nice solution but at least you can determine if this is an incompatibility issue or not.
hello everyone,
I cannot get Activesync to recognize my htc touch pro no matter what i do,... i've uninstalled and reinstalled shut everything off then on, followed all of MS's advice, and nothing works,...
Any suggestions,...? No problems connecting my tytn II and my hermes,...
thanks,
ek
Are you running any firewall software? If so, this is relevant to you.
start>>settings>>connections>>usbtopc>> un check the "enable advanced network functionality"
sorry attnoob, was trying for your quick fix, but it didn't work,... thanks anyway,... now will go to the firewall issues noted above, but i already opened the ports as per ms's recommendations in help,...
will try other suggestions and get back to you,...
ok, so allenh, read all the info at the link you sent me, and actually did all these things yesterday, but it didn't work,... also, something strange happens when i hook the device to the PC in that, the device immediately goes to the 'internet sharing' program you use when tethering, it establishes a connection with the internet, and there is a comments saying 'check usb cable connection' and this never happened with the tytn II,...
your help is appreciated,...

Check the USB cable
It seems the USB cable the Tilt uses and the one the Raphael/Fuze use are different, If i use the cable that i usued with my tilt the computer would not recognize the Fuze it will charge it though, only if i use the usb cable that came with the Fuze it works fine.
Are you using the stock ROM or a cooked ROM. Some of the new cooked ROMS are having this problem.
Also, are you using Vista or XP. The problems seem to be with XP.
my fuze seems to also be having this issue... i can hear my laptop do the little noise saying something is attached but my phone never pops up with the screen anymore asking what i would like to do. sometimes i get lucky and it will randomly connect to active sync but would not give me any warning whether it was going to work or not.
btw, it didnt start doing this until i flashed NATF's v2.1 and also loaded a custom theme and toolbars and such.... it worked after i loaded NATF's rom, just randomly stopped at some point after that.
if you are putting on a new rom then put the phone in bootloader mode it worked for me

My Fuze is doing this too, excep every single time. I can't get Activesync to work through USB. And I'm running the stock ROM. Internet Sharing automatically connects.
Okay, I set Internet Sharing to Bluetooth PAN (instead of USB), which kept it from automatically starting when I plugged in the USB. This let ActiveSync and the 'choose a connection type' startup on my Fuze and everything has been fine.
Try your PC Network settings
Hi,
I have the same problem recently. My AS does not want to recognize my Raphael. What I did was go to the network setting of the PC (Network Connections) and disable the 1394 adapter. Then my AS now can recognize my Raphael. The next unsolved thing is how to make the connection stable enough to make happen the syncing.

Hi, I had similar problem. Once upon a time the connection between my Touch Pro (WM6.5.3) and PC stopped working. Activesync did nothing and after a minute gave error message with troubleshoot guide. So I opened control panel ---> device manager (with mobile connected via USB), where I found "Windows mobile based device" between network adapters. I opened it and under it's advanced settings I found "network address" which was set to "unavailable". So I changed it to 192.168.2.2 and now it works again ;-)
Hope it helps someone ;-)
Hey all. I wanted to make a little "Public Service Announcement" regarding an issue that I have had for quite some time and finally solved tonight. I'm hoping it will help someone else because the symptoms of the issue were very strange and an answer was not forthcoming through standard searching.
I have an HTC M8 (Verizon) and I have been having problems with my "Mobile Hotspot" feature for a while. I thought the issue happened after my first upgrade to Marshmallow, but as it turns out the issue was with my Windows 10 PCs (read on...).
Basically, I was able to connect to my phone's Wifi "Mobile Hotspot" without any problems from an iPad tablet or from my wife's Samsung phone. However, when I tried to connect from my Windows 10 PC I had very strange symptoms.
As per my profession, I consider myself somewhat an expert on Windows and networking in general (not "the expert" but "an expert" ). What was so strange about this issue was that the Windows 10 PCs would see the SSID from my phone without a problem. they would connect after providing the encryption key, and they would even get an IP address from the phone's DHCP server. But, after that, they failed to communicate on the network at all. Not even able to ping the phone (default gateway).
I won't go into the details of all my troubleshooting steps (everything from reboots to wireshark analysis), but honestly nothing worked. I determined it must be an issue with Windows 10 after having two different Windows 10 laptops fail to connect properly. I remembered that I didn't have these issues when my system was running Windows 7.
Even armed with this information I was unable to research to any suitable solution online, when I came across a post somewhere that hinted at a similar connectivity issue. The poster seemed to indicate that the Microsoft drivers caused some issues with their devices that was resolved using older vendor drivers.
Both my Windows 10 laptops in questions are quite old. They were never meant to run anything past Windows Vista/7. Because of this, the vendors didn't really offer complete driver packages for these systems for Windows 10. But, during the Windows 10 installation, the OS detected all the hardware in these laptops automatically and, until today the provided Microsoft drivers seemed totally functional.
I hunted down the latest drivers I could find from the vendors (HP/Dell) and using device manager forced the installation of those driver packages. Immediately upon update to those drivers I was able to connect 100% properly to the Mobile Hotspot and access the Internet.
As it turns out, it seems both laptops had Broadcom based cards - so I suspect the issue may be specifically with Microsoft's Broadcom driver.
Hopefully this comes up in a search for the next person having similar issues.
