Clearing the cache - Captivate General

Does the Captivate clear it's cache when it reboots or is there a way of manually clearing it. Would keeping the cache clear benefit by keeping top performance? My other question is, does the Captivate really perform better using a Class 6 SD card as oposed to a Class 2 card. Does the operating sysytem really utilize the speed or is it really a program dependent issue?
Is it fair to say we might benefit more performance wise by keeping the cache cleared?

[Q] How Can I Truly Format the SSD?

I recently got the Limited Edition Galaxy Tab 10.1 from the Google I/O and want to get rid of my XOOM, however I wanted to know how to TRULY format the SSD memory. I know that you can go to the Settings menu and click "Factory Reset" however does this truly wipe all the data from the unit?
There are so many privacy issues, for example that if someone knows what they are doing, they can restore all the data even after formatting. Of course this I generally hear about with computers, not mobile phones/Android, and I am not sure with SSD.
Could anyone clarify/offer some assistance?
You might want to hold onto the Xoom a bit longer...

Wipe everything, fill up the memory with avi's or mp3's or whatever junk you don't want, when it reaches full, wipe it again, and then copy over some more junk... if they attempt to recover anything it will be junk... I'm no hacker but I wouldn't even bother to attempt to fetch any info on the tablet, I bet whoever buys it off you would be so happy that is gonna fill that memory with stuff/junk quicker than you...
also that trick would work for platter based hard drives, the SD memory is a bit different, I'm not 100% sure so don't trust me fully.
Actually I haven't ever connected my XOOM to a PC so it doesn't matter if the Tab 10.1 isn't working with it.

internal storage full

I'm running [GT-P31XX][JB][4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1, just fyi
So all of a sudden I can't install any more apps... it keeps saying internal storage full.
I've even uninstalled all the "extra's" I've been running.. I went from like 150 or more apps installed down to (what I consider) hardly any and it just keeps saying it.
It's not talking about the internal SD card is it? I have almost a gig or room on that.
I'm at a loss here.
Any apps to clear my memory or something? I've used Allininetool, doesn't help, SDMaid, doesn't help... a couple other that I can't remember the names of, they didn't help either.
bleh!
Thanks i advance for any help.

same issue is there in my aunts tab 2..on doing a factory reset..all is fine, but after a month only having a bunch apps (consuming max 1gb space), it shows that there is no space! (but doing a factory reset again solves the problem)
planning to take it to the service center!

I reflashed the rom and cleared cache and dalvik. seems to be ok now but thats curious as to why it happens.
Can't tell you why this happens and After trying to install some large games and apps i ran in to this. I didn't know that you could only install to the internal SD otherwise i would have got the 16GB version.
After a lot of searching i came across this in the general section, it (so far) has worked like a dream for me.

[EDIT] This only works on 4.1.x versions.
Actually there is no need to reflash ROMs or even factory reset. I have read about such problems and they are usually related to cache. I do not know the exact name or type of cache which cause the problem, but I recall 2 solutions:
1) Install either Quick System Info Pro or ES Task Manager. Use the 'Clear cache' function inside these apps then restart device.
2) If you do not like to install these apps, then you can boot into Recovery mode & select "Clear cache' from the recovery menu.
I have read these solutions on several forums, including here at XDA Developers. I am not certain if they will work as I myself have not encountered such problems. Maybe if anyone does & needs help, do feel free to try these solutions?

Doubt about Cached Data

Well I've rerooted my phone again and when I was going to do a nandroid backup I found I was nearly out of space. On the storage information on the phone I found out that the Cached Data was 3.19 Gb
I think it's too much, so I was wondering about clear it, but I'm afraid this could be bad for the phone...
Any suggestions??
Cached data has no impact except allowing apps to access that data quicker. You can safely Clear cache without losing anything

I suposed it wasn't unsafe but I asked just to make sure

Lagging - Wiping Cache Partition,

My moto g 3rd gen is only 6 weeks old, i have a fast sd card installed as internal memory. After installing many apps on my phone, it became very slow. I done a factory reset and things were fine, then it started to happen again. I removed facebook and messenger apps after reading bad reports about it, this helped a bit. My phone still get slow. It speeds up if i 'wipe partition cache'. Why do i need to do this and why is my phone slowing down after installing more apps. I want to keep it snappy like the day i bought it.
I used discomark and you can see how apps open faster after doing this cache wipe, yet the more times you run it, the slower the opening times become.
Has anyone found a solution to this slowing down problem?
