I've of course been seeng the square barcodes (don't know what they are called). I don't see any method in Market to click scan bar code.
How do you use those to get to yoru apps in Market?
Download a barcode reader app......
take a picture using camera get a app called barcode scanner thats how you use
I'd recommend getting the google goggles app. You just take a picture of the barcode and it scans in seconds. You can also use it to scan product barcodes and compare prices, or scan DVD/CD cases.

Ok I am wondering is there an app or android web browser add-on that will let you scan QR codes that are on the site ur on. Because I have noticed sites that many sites I go on to on my phone lately have QR codes linking to something or another.

If the QR code isn't linked or doesn't have a link to the software, it's bad design but nothing you can do on your end besides contact them and tell them to link the QRCode so you can click it.

I think he means that the image of the QR code is also a link.
such as
Code:
<img src="qrcode.jpg"/>
OP is asking if there is a application that will read QR images directly through the browser from the image, not a hyperlink to the page. (I don't know of any apps that do that currently.)
Hi,
You can do this from the Android browser using its "Share" feature with an app named QR Droid. I think it's as close as possible to a browser add-on.
Look for "la.droid.qr" in the Market and install it. After that:
- In the Browser, long-click the image and select "Save image"
- After downloaded, open image from notification bar
- Select Menu > Share > "Decode with QR Droid"
I hope this helps
My Barcode Scanner app has stopped taking me to the Android Market when I scan QR codes for apps. Instead it opens the Android web browser and takes me to the app page on AppBrain.com.
Any ideas on how to get this back to the standard behavior of opening the market and not the browser?
Thanks...
Paul
Scratch that
Never mind, false alarm. The QR codes I was using were specificall designed to take me to the internet and not the market. silly me.
mod, feel free to delete this thread.

QR Droid has more functionality, as it lets you open images from gallery as well.

Google Goggles does this as well. It also has a setting to analyze photos taken with your camera app, without even opening the Goggles app. Its pretty sweet.
burks is right. Goggles has more to it than QR Droid. From what i've seen, the only thing Goggles doesn't have that QR does is the ability to create your own QR codes. Other than that, Goggles has everything else and more.
Apologies if its in the wrong section.

I am using the barcode scanner app for android and whenever I scan a barcode and do a product search it does a search using google.co.uk for whatever reason and as a result sometimes it finds the product but then gives me the prices in euros and then sometimes it cant find the product that it is looking for.
But if I were to do a web search with the same barcode that it scans it uses google.ca which is what I want it to do and it finds the product (after clicking the first link then goes to the upcdatabase.com) and provides the info (except for the price). Does anybody know why it is doing this and how I can change it from searching with google.co.uk to google.ca (since I do live in Toronto, Canada).
Thanks!
Look in the settings and change the search country.

You can try to set custom search URL in app settings
Is there any fast and reliable lock application for locking apps like viber, messenger etc? I know there are many in play store but almost none of them are smooth, fast and having good results in hide the content immediately. I also prefer to hide the content in recent (multitasking) menu and to lock the app immediately after I try to open it. And of course, having the ability to hide or change notification icons.

I did it , but when you want to send a photo for instance with messenger, you need to transfer it to secure folder first. And this is not always convenient.

Not really
The picture you wanna share, just select the share option. Then select more apps option. It would show you the apps from outisde the secure folder. Select the app you wanna share the picture from.
Don't have to move it out of secure folder and then share

For instance, I took a picture. The picture is in Gallery, out of Secure Folder.
Messenger is in Secure folder.
When I want to share the photo via secure folder Messenger, I should transfer it to Gallery of secure folder first , otherwise Messenger can't find it.
I use this one on my S8.
AppLock - Fingerprint - Apps on Google Play
AppLock Protect & Lock Apps, Gallery, Photos, Video, Privacy with fingerprint
play.google.com
I have been using it for quite a while(probably 5 years) and never had any issues.
You have options to lock notifications, customize the app lock screen, set it to lock the app immediately when you leave it or only when you lock the screen, it takes pictures of failed attempts to unlock it, you will also have the option to use pin pad, pattern gestures in addition to the fingerprint scanner.
You will need to install a second app that enables it to not be allowed to be disabled from your app manager. I believe that I also had to pay it to get the ads removed.
I was checking the feedbacks rn and they look like people did not take time to set it properly I believe. I would recommend you to give a try.

So what stops somebody from going into your apps and just simply uninstalling this? Also I definitely would not trust any third party companies with this sort of information.
I use Audio Manager from playstore. So far so good. Try it.
I just use secure folder. Works great.
