Anyone recommend a good desktop charger that can charge the battery out side of the phone? I'd like to get a spare battery and charge both over night so I've always got power. Had one of these for a nokia which was really useful.

Will this work for our phones???
They went on clearance on Black Friday and they still have a few left at my local store for $5.00 from the normal $19.99.
Thanks in advanced.
Works just fine, I've been using the same one for about a year now (on my mt4g and now g2x)
Is 1150mAh worth it to lug around? Probably better just to carry an extra battery around or get the extended batteries.

I have one of those extended batteries.
I need it as a emergency backup. The other day I was gone for 2 days with out a charger. I had the extended battery and forgot my charger and stock battery was with me but dead.

I have three of those extended batteries. I think I can go a week with them if I didn't have a charger handy and using the phone conservatively.

i don't see no reason it wouldn't work i read about it
It works great on a Samsung Galaxy S 4G to bad it only charges from completely dead to 75% to 80. Not bad for emergency.

I've purchased two 3500mah batteries off ebay and would like to have some sort of dock charger so I can just charge one of the batteries while my phone is using the other one. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.
Did u try wirelessground.com?

Yea, but I'm only seeing a dock charger for the phone itself. I need one for a 3500mah battery.
check this out
http://www.buy.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=224072509&sellerid=16060654
and it has a slot for a 2nd battery...sooo cool
I bought a 3500mAH battery and external battery charger from Amazon. The external charger plugs into 120VAC, has a 5V USB output and a charge indicator which indicates when the battery is fully charged.
Here's Amazon.com pages for just the charger:
http://www.amazon.com/LG-Battery-Ch...B8/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1324233294&sr=8-16
http://www.amazon.com/Battery-Deskt...QF2G/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1324233626&sr=8-2
I never charge my phone anymore, just switch out batteries using external charger

Have to make sure you get a charger that takes the battery right0side up (same way it goes into the phone)... On my Vibrant, I had the official Samsung spare battery charger, and it took the battery upside down. Which meant that the contacts on any extended battery wouldn't match up as the battery is too thick.
EDIT: Oh yeah, this might should be in the accessories forum....

Just curious... who is the manufacturer and how much did you pay? Looking to get extra juice myself.

i dont know if this question has been asked before i havent seen it. is it any better to charge your battery with a wall dock charger where only the battery is on it charging rather than hooked through a cable in the phone. i dont really know if theres a difference if some one could help me out that would be great
As per first hand experience I have noticed my battery when charged outside of the phone eventually gets ruined. I have had this happen to me twice along with a friend a third time. Took the phone to at&t and they said the battery was fried and it had something to do with the difference in how the phone barges the battery and how the external battery charger does.

ok thanks thats exactly what i was wondering
I am currently using now the ZeroLemon 7500mah. I have the Samsung USB component plugged into the wall, then a USB extension cord, then the actual Samsung cord. When I have the phone on and plugged in, in the stock battery the phone still charges when I use the phone while plugged in. I noticed the ZeroLemon 7500mah battery actually depleting while plugged in while being used.
Does this happen to anyone else ? Just making sure it is not a battery issue.
It charges when I leave it alone, but when I am playing with it plugged in it is using power.
Never happened on mine.
Just charging slower when being used.

Likewise. Never depletes just slower to charge when being used. And I'm talking watching films which have a lot of drain. Sounds like either a battery or charger issue. If you have another charger give it a try and if the issue continues I'd get them to send you a new battery.
I bought myself one of those portable batteries to charge my phone and tablet on the go. It always seems like when I charge my Nexus 5 from the wall charger the battery lasts longer than when I do it from my car usb, or the portable battery itself. I could get 90% from the wall charger and get to 90% from the portable battery and the latter seems to drain faster. Am I just am I imagining things?
The problem with using a battery pack is that you are filling up with poor quality electricity. If you charge from the wall you know exactly where it has come from, kind of like fair trade organic apples

is it possible that when you top up when out and about, you are more likely to be using your device a bit heavier (more screen-on or active time), while wall charger implies charging at home therefore implies using device a bit less?
Edit/OT: ooo this was post 666 for me! :victory:
