Unlocked G1 and rooted g1 restored to factory setting big problem

I have successfully downgraded my rc33 g1 to rc29 and i have managed to unlock and activate it. I was also able to update it to rc33 using jf's update. All was good until yesterday for some reason i wasn't able to download from the android market anymore so i decided to restore to factory settings! so i thought i'll just repeat the whole process again but i was wrong! I was able to downgrade to rc29 again but my computer doesn't recognize my android anymore! i tried <enter>setprop persist.service.adb.enable 1<enter> multiple times but my pc is just not recognizing it! <enter> reboot <enter> works as expected but for some reason i cant make my computer access my android. I checked my hardware settings and there is no HTC dream device there anymore. When i plug my android to the USB it's just charging! Anybody help please

Make sure your phone wasnt auto detected as usb mass storage device. if you are running windows. go to the device manager. open up the section. then watch closely as you plug your phone in. if you see a mass device show up, you need install the android usb drivers.

I have been looking into that closely but for some reason it's not acting up the way it used to. When i first got the android i was able to see that usb device at the device manager. I've tried doing so in different pc's and operating systems ( windows xp , vista64 and 32 ) but it just wouldn't load. It's charging though but the device just wont get recognized.

kinda a dumb suggestion but when u plug g1 into comp are u mounting it from the g1??(notifcation that comes up) again i kno thats something stupid...

Try a Linux operating system. If it works there, you have a Windows problem.

Thank you for trying to help. Are you sure about linux i'm a little skeptical, because it worked with vista64 before i don't understand why it's not working anymore after factory reset. Thanks!

mods, this thread needs to be closed/locked/ patmagpantay has started another one of these with the same issue.
patmagpantay - if you have JF recovery console flash ADP1.1 update, you can skip initial activation login - then connect to wifi - then open a google app (Gmail market, calendar etc.) you will then be prompted to activate (over wifi)

is anyone working on a rom for 7016, been playing with it for a couple days trying to get it rooted and nand is locked and haven't found anything on how to unlock them, so i can use some of the root programs and install market on it, if anyone has an idea on a root that will work let me know and i will test it

The instructions for getting the Android Market on the 7015 works for this model as well - there is a youtube video that steps through it (search "How install android market on coby Kyros 7022" since I can't post outside links.
I'm having a couple of issues and am looking for a solution - will post in a new thread if I need to. 1) I was able to find the apk for Adobe Flash 10.3 but it doesn't seem to work in the native browser (can browse to you tube but then the videos pop open in another app but on other pages like blogs, etc the video graphic never appears). 2) I can't seem to get this thing to mount an SD card. I bought it primarily to let my son watch movies on it but the native 4GB isn't gonna get me very far. I've tried a 2GB that I had laying around and then went and picked up another SanDisk 8GB. Both are formatted FAT32 and can be read by Windows but as soon as I pop it in , I get the "SD card safe to remove" message.

Just wanted to point out that I stumbled on accessing the add-in flash card.
I reformatted the flash card using Windows, inserted in the device, and then had to power cycle the 7016. The way that they partition the internal memory creates an "SD Card" folder. When you insert an SD card you will get a TFlash folder as a sub directory of that. (not sure yet how you would access a USB flash drive if connected)

After days trying to find a way to root the Coby Kyros 7016, I've finally found a way to install the market!
Neither z4root nor gingerbreak worked with it. I don't think there's a way to root it, at least not now.
But you can install the market (which I guess is the main objective, at least mine was) in a very simple way.
Download the file using the following w w w . 4shared . com / file / 7tR6y6AB / Market . html.
Put them into your tablet.
Open APK Installer and install all of them in this order: OneTimeInitializer.apk, SetupWizard.apk, GoogleServicesFramework.apk and Vending.apk.
Turn your tablet off and turn it on again.
A window saying "Complete action using" will appear, mark "Use by default" and choose the "Launcher".
I hope it helps!
PS: I've heard it works also on the MID7020.

But until now rooting, nothing yet ! any sugestion ?

after hard work and a lot of trials here is the solution ............... it is superoneclick 2.2 from shortfuse.org ..... and then make shell root then root and it will be rooted

Confirmed working! Just did it three different tabs!

Root confirmed on Coby Kyros MID7016
confirmed root, with SuperOneClick 2.3.3 on Windows 7.
allowed drivers to automatically install (all but the android gingerbread installed)
in superoneclick, check for drivers, and allow to force install driver for android gingerbread (check to see if recognized by adb via 'adb devices')
-at this point, i disconnected the kyros from my laptop, and then reconnected, and then checked in adb again.
then shell root.
then root.
done.
confirmed rooted, working, with superuser app.

Unable to unlock phone (despite using correct user/pw) (HTC One S, Ice Cream Sandwich

Hi,
Complete newb here.... I've forgotten my Unlock Pattern password. I'm on an older model phone (HTC One S running Ice Cream Sandwich, stock). I've attempted to use the Unlock via Google Account, but its telling me "Invalid username or password". The weird thing is:
1) I'm able to login to this account via PC (I'm on it now).
2) I verified that this is the account associated with my Android device (I went under "Recently Used Devices" on my account page)
I've input the username/pw carefully. I've tried variants of the username ([email protected], justplaystore2, etc.)
I'm running out of ideas. The only thing I can guess is that maybe the device expects an older password that I had on this account? I'm unsure if Google has any way to view PW history.
My preference would be to access via the standard method, but I've been poking around how to boot into a recovery environment or mount the storage. Currently when I try and the device is ON it requires the password (windows can't connect). When its in the bootloader or off it doesn't show up as a device.
Any advice on what I should be looking at (for either approach) would be helpful.

Google acount bypass, usb debug & more

Hi to all, i have huawei P9 lite VNS-L21 (C432B383). nd i have trouble with it.
1. when i want to turn it on it goes to step GOOGLE VERIFICATION, i tried to bypass with those youtube videos but no use (i dont have that option SHARE wich they have),
i tried to acess it using new google accaunt but no use of it.
2. i can not activate usb debugging to ROOT it simply the google verify is last step vhere i could get.
i got unlock pass number from huawei but where to use it?
with *#*#2846579#*#* code i reached to debugg mode but ther is PASSWORD !
what to do? is it possible to install stoc rom, or original and wich one using SD CARD?
is it possible to enable usb debug with any other way?

Hi Everyone,
Recently i got xoom 2 me us version (MZ607) tablet, it was supposed to be for kids.
I have trouble with him, I can't login to google app - I get a reply "Your username and password don't match" also when i try login to gmail acoount i get "Device is not allowed to synchronize; please check if the number of devices connected to this account has reached the server's limit" (google account is new ).
So I wanted to flash new ROM (I have already root), but I can't find any working links. Maybe some of You have needed files and could share.
I need:
