Complete newb here.... I've forgotten my Unlock Pattern password. I'm on an older model phone (HTC One S running Ice Cream Sandwich, stock). I've attempted to use the Unlock via Google Account, but its telling me "Invalid username or password". The weird thing is:
1) I'm able to login to this account via PC (I'm on it now).
2) I verified that this is the account associated with my Android device (I went under "Recently Used Devices" on my account page)
I've input the username/pw carefully. I've tried variants of the username ([email protected], justplaystore2, etc.)
I'm running out of ideas. The only thing I can guess is that maybe the device expects an older password that I had on this account? I'm unsure if Google has any way to view PW history.
My preference would be to access via the standard method, but I've been poking around how to boot into a recovery environment or mount the storage. Currently when I try and the device is ON it requires the password (windows can't connect). When its in the bootloader or off it doesn't show up as a device.
Any advice on what I should be looking at (for either approach) would be helpful.

when my phone rebooted i got the "my touch 3g" intro. Than Google wants me to sign in with my google account. i already got a user name and password but i cant connect....

I am looking for a way to protect my sensitive information in a case of "I don't want this person in my phone but if I don't give them my password I'm in deep _______" Let's say I had this set up, and my password for my encrypted (Samsung Galaxy S III Rooted Default Android 4.1) was kitten141, I typed that in and everything worked like a regular encrypted device, now is there a way I could enter "puppy314" in my password to cause the device to (Stop functioning til unlocked by my PC (USB) ) ? Or possibly Wipe/Erase the device.
Edit: Samsung Galaxy S III (T-Mobile's SGH-T999L) Stock Android 4.1.2 with SuperSU Installed as my Root Manager.
I would prefer to keep my phone in its current Rooted state and (If I can) I would also Love to update to a newer version of android, and keep my stuff. I like my Apps, Like Orbot (Android Tor) and don't want to do all these settings over again! Thanks for any help anyone gives me.
I just installed the official CM12 for the phone but when I try to login to Cyanogen account it says the following:
"Login failed
Invalid email or password".
I made a reset to my password using my PC, and then tried again to add the account - the same message.
I tried to log in to the account on my PC- and I made it!
What could be the problem?
Please any help would be appreciated.
I had to do the same thing. I just created a new account with the same credentials. Seems to have worked Ok and not a whole lot has changed.

did u find the answer or did u do created new acc aswell?
Cyanogen accounts created in 11 won't work with 12 and up. Even Cyanogen has stated it, that you have to create a new one. I do not know the reason why, but it is needed.

I have an encrypted device. Until recently it didn't have any lock screen protection, but I added a pin. I just rebooted the phone but at the usual password screen it asks me for the pin and only gives me a numeric keyboard. Obviously I can't get past this since my encryption password has letters in it.
I can access the device via the recovery with the old encryption password and it works fine over ADB. The question is, what do I do to set the keyboard back to the right type via the command line? Editing settings.db doesn't help - probably not accessible until disk is unlocked.
Any help is appreciated.

Greetings and welcome to assist. A factory reset will fix the issue but I'm pretty sure your issue is rom related so I'd try asking in the rom thread

Hi Everyone,
Recently i got xoom 2 me us version (MZ607) tablet, it was supposed to be for kids.
I have trouble with him, I can't login to google app - I get a reply "Your username and password don't match" also when i try login to gmail acoount i get "Device is not allowed to synchronize; please check if the number of devices connected to this account has reached the server's limit" (google account is new ).
So I wanted to flash new ROM (I have already root), but I can't find any working links. Maybe some of You have needed files and could share.
