ok so ive downloaded ultimater launcher.zip to my computer but i am confused on how to put it on my phone pleasehelp.
p.s sorry about this i suck with technology.

Is the file in the form of a .cab or .exe? Is the first question. If cab you have to get it moved from your computer to your device through active sync. If the file is an .exe then you need to sync up your device with Active Sync and then run the exe file from your computer and it should install for you, follow the on screen instructions.

If you look apparently no one answered it.

1) Unzip the file to get a .CAB file.
2) Place the .CAB file on your phone (using explore on your computer's ActiveSync).
3) Using file explorer on your phone, run the .CAB file, this will install it.
4) Go to your settings, Today options and remove all plugins from the today screen, but add the plugin for ultimate launcher.
5) On the main screen, use the blue UL icon to customize the program.

I get how to put it on now but im new to this whole smart phone thing. how exactly do i get that on my phone because i dont know how to use active sync i mean i explore open up my documents where i saved it and then it tried cutting and pasting it on like it said in help but nothing is working so if someone could help me with that please

I guess he's using the shotgun approach(Not the person on this forum the weapon) it's bound to hit something.

LOL it seems the only slug to hit though is in the far side of the forum that is as far away from cutting and pasting as you can get.
First. Unzip the file and extract it onto your desktop. If you have a storage card in the phone then when you connect the phone open up the "Mobile Device" option and go into "My Mobile Device" then selct "Storage Card" Try saving the extracted cab file into there

so i extract but where do i put it? Files?

Big problem after ROM update! Can't delete systen files anymore! Please help!

I flashed my HD2 to the newest official ROM and i discovered that it's not possible to rename and/or delete system files like manila files anymore!
Why is this??
With my old ROM i could rename manila files to *.bak and then delete them using Total commander but with the new ROM this isn't possible! I'm really desperate, I don't know what to do!
Could it be that HTC made the new firmware more secure?
Any solutions???

I found out that I can't copy my welcomehead to the windows folder anymore...it just wouldn't let me...
there has to be a registry entry somewhere, just can't find it at the moment.

I dont have the phone yet or WM6.5 so I cant comment too much but you could try reflashing the rom and see how that affects things. Did you flash the rom using a gold card or just update an official rom?

sorry for the noobness, but what does a goldcard do???? I have an image which was e-mailed to me after i placed my CID on a thread here. How do i go about using it. Is there anything on the web i can read up regarding this?
Sorry for hijacking your thread dude! Do what this guy says, try to re-flash your Rom and see if that helps.

Rename your new welcomehead from welcomehead.192 to welcomehead.193 and copy it into the windows folder. Then use the Advanced Configuration Tool 3.3 (it needs MS Framework 3.5 to be installed to work) and go to Splash Screen. There you have to click the first green entry and change the path from windows/welcomehead.192.png to windows/welcomehead.193.png. Then Softreset. Now you have a new welcomehead, even with new ROM. Have fun!

Make it the way i told you, you don't have to change something in the windows folder to have a new startup screen.

^I did it and it worked great. thanks
But there are some other issues...for example if you want to enable navi panel or hidden games you need to copy some files into the start menu folder but that is not possible because the ROM won't let you.
any solution for the others?

Hello guys,
Now i´ve got my brand new Touch2 and have a problem with the nwe GUI...
I don´t like the new start menu, i want the old one back.
Is there a way to get back to the old one?
Or is WinMob 6.5 just an optical package, so that there is no chance to use the old startmenu again?

I don´t like the "Finger" menu with the big symbols in...

Attached file is a CAB (installation setup file of windows mobile).
So just copy the CAB file (setup file) into your windows mobile, goto fileexplorer & click it to install

[Q] Help on i601 Wrongly Updated with i608 ROM

Hi there,
I am writing to look for kind help from you guys on the i601 which was wrongly updated with a i608 ROM and was caused to possess no phone function at all, though it can be powered on to the home screen with some basic functions like file exploring. Now it has no phone function, and lots of other functions like power signal, user configuration menu, and etc. are not working either. The worst is it doesn't respond when I connect it with my PC via ActiveSync (seems the USB port is not funcitoning as well).
I'm not sure what kind of information should be given to let you guys better understand the symptoms but here is a few of information that might be a little bit insightful:
By keying in *#1546792*#:
Windows Mobile 6 Standard
CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)
Radio Version 0
RIL Version 2.002
... ...
By entering into Setting mode:
PDA Version
i608ZTGI2

I am always grateful and thankful to see a reply from someone who are trying to help others. Thanks a lot in advance for your kind advice.
To be exact, now the phone cannot be recognized by ActiveSync after plugging in through the USB port. I check through the files inside the phone and found that many sub-folders under Windows are empty, such as:
/My Device/ConnMgr
/My Device/Documents and Settings/default
/My Device/Documents and Settings/Samsung
/My Device/Program Files/Connections
/My Device/Windows/Activesync/ (only one file named CtrlLog)
/My Device/Windows/Systems/ (only some empty folders like CertDtls, ConfigMgr, DumpFiles, SQM, CabQueue)
Can someone be kind enough to teach me how to at least make it connectable with ActiveSync so that I can try flashing again a ROM to this phone?
Also if it can be done, I need to locate where i601 ROM would be available.

Where can I download official i601 ROM? I tried to search on web but couldn't find any info about this strange version - i601.

Thankyou for the reply.
The first headache to me is now my PC doesn't recognize the phone through the USB port. I have been looking around on the web and found some Samsung USB Driver files and had them installed in my PC. But it doesn't help at all, my phone cannot be recognized correctly (a few times it was recognized as Unknown Device). So when I power on my phone on BL mode and link it with WCEDownloader trying to flash, the START button is disabled.
I don't know if there can be solutions to make my PC recognize the phone again and am really frustrated at the moment. The only good thing is now I basically know how to flash a Samsung mobile phone and have collected bunches of ROMs and software.
See if someone know how to troubleshoot it.

edit!!! was just thinking. what os is your computer running? xp, vista, w7...

Thanks for the valuable advice.
My PC is running on XP.
Last night i just uninstalled all the SAMSUNG USB Drivers I installed with the following driver pack I could located on earth:
Samsung CDMA Driver
Samsung Composite Drivers
Samsung USB Driver MCCI 4.34 WHQL
Samsung CDMA Modom 4.34
etc. etc.
Typically a shoot in the dark. Haha...
Now I will try to re-install them one by one to find out actually which one would be that particular driver that did at least recognize an "unknown device" (if I have luck... haha...) and make it a likely viable connection first.
There is another symptom that I didn't mention before, and it is that the phone cannot read the Micro SD card, not sure if it is me that I don't know how to explore the content on the card or it is the phone that it card-reading function is disabled as well (It is always strange when I explore the content in different folders and find out many system folders are empty... as I said before).
Let me spend some time on "wrestling" with the USB connection symptom first and the next is to see if I can make something out with your attached file.

Yet I cannot find the right USB Driver to install on my PC running XP, though the phone can read the MicroSD card now. Unfortunately after I copied all your files in the card (putting into a sub-folder), the phone can show only one file named USB, all the dll's files are now shown. And therefore I cannot really copy them into the Windows folder as you recommended. Do you know what would be the cause to this situation and how I can tackle this issue.
Anyway, it is a step closer. Thanks again and look for your generous advice.

Hi dermann,
I copied the unzipped folder to the root directory of my MicroSD card, run the "Explorer" and now it can display the content inside folders. However, the strange thing is:
I copied the unzipped files you gave me yesterday into the MicroSD card, when I use the new explorer to browse the files, still only the one named "USB" is shown and all the dlls files are hidden. I can see them only when I use the "Find" Command in the menu of Explorer (find *.*). By doing so they can be visible together with that USB file in the same folder. Unfortunately in the "Find" Menu I cannot find any command such as COPY or CUT so that I can copy them into the /Windows as you instructed.
So now I am kind of stuck at how to copy these files into the folder of \Windows.
Would love to get some kind advice from you.

ok, sorry for the late response. just getting off a 14 hour work day. ok the file explorer... head to menu\options\general\browser, and uncheck everything. then head to the folder you have the files in and click action left soft key, and their is the copy, move, ect.. to move everything over at once click your star key "*" and check mark all the files, then copy or move them. you'll want to overwrite the files that are already their.

The EXPLORER works exactly the way you told me. Now I've succeeded into copying all the files (named USB and the other 5 dlls files) into my phone's /WINDOWS folder.
But I cannot quite understand the next step you wrote "... and import the .reg using a registry editor..." How can it be done or it has been done already by copying all the files into /WINDOWS folder?
Maybe you can advise the next step when you are free. Sorry to have bothered you with this. You needn't give me reply when you are busy with your work or enjoy your leisure time. Just write me when you are really free and don't have better things to do, I can wait very patiently.

Actually after my post Dermann was kind enough to help me by sending me a CAB file that would let me "import" the registry into the system of my phone. I guess it did import the registry successfully. Unfortunately, after copying all the dll files and importing that particular registry, it didn't change the overall picture - my phone still cannot be recognized when connecting via the USB port, just "Unknown Device" is shown.
It is still a deadlock to me.

i think the only option that's left is to go to a samsung service center! they have the hardware for it to restore your device to the original firmware!

OblyTile Does'nt Work For Me

I recently install OblyTile and none of the tiles I create display in the right manner. The all blue tile in the screen shot is one I created with OblyTile. They all come out the same way. Please help if you have any suggestions. Thanks.

Be sure to use the latest version (You can download it from Here), also be sure to use Png files with a resolution of 120x120 and a file size not bigger than 200kb.

Just 1 issue When I try to use it to open an xlxs file it opens a xlxs blank/new page?
Works fine for other files and folders , just seems to be xlxs files.
I'm not fluent with programing ( in fact I'm stupid when it comes to programming) and have seen there is a box to input program arguments? should I be inputting some information here?

I'm using 512x512 icons and they also work like a charm so that shouldn't be a problem.

I'm using the same tile also directing to the same path. And it works for me.
What happens if you browse to the directory and open chrome.exe manually? Technically it does the same.
You could also try to check "Run as Administrator" and even try what happens if you fil in for example; google.com in the "Program Arguments" (Chrome should open with google.com)
You could even check (i'm not sure if this has changes the way how OblyTile works) if UAC (User Account Control) is off.
Make sure that you are using the last version (i'm not allowed to post a link)
Please let me now if this worked out for you.

I've browse the chrome directory and open the chrome.exe manually and it open the chrome.
I've try to create a tile and check the "Run as Administrator" and also fill the "Program Arguments" with "google.com" but nothing happens again. It only display the tiles on the start but it is not Opening the chrome.
I also try to create a Tile with a path of a Folder, and it is not working too.it doesnt open the folder that I've locate in the Path.. .
I've Tried to off the UAC and nothing happens.
I'm Using the Last Version of OblyTile.. .
Any other solution???

Mmm the only thing i can think about is maybe there's an anti virus which is blocking something. You could try turning it off.
What if you remove all tiles (r. mouse unpin from start) and clear all data in C:\Program Files\OblyTile and try adding new tiles?
If this also isn't working then maybe "Argony-OT" can help you out.

.I try to turn off my Antivirus and my Firewall.. .nothing happen again...
.I also delete all the folders inside the OblyTile.. .
.By the way, Im Using Windows 8 Single Language..
.Some said the OblyTile works Only on Windows 8 Pro and windows 8 Enterprise..
.Is that True??

This is info is from the Oblytile Thread;
Tested on:
Windows 8 Professional Build 9200 - 32/64 Bit
Windows 8 Enterprise Build 9200 - 32/64 Bit
So probably that's your problem.
Maybe Argony-OT can confirm this?

Argony released a new version of OblyTile you should give it a try.

This is happening to me too. It happened once a long time ago and I was able to fix it by running Oblytile and rebuilding the cache. No such luck this time though

OblyTile program browser can't see .EXE
Hello forum,
I got OblyTile and love it so far. I have run into an odd situation though. I am trying to make a new tile for Microsoft Snipping Tool. When i use file explorer I can see that the .exe is located at:
C:\Windows\System32
But when i use the "Choose File" option under "Program Path" the "snipping tool.exe" file is not displayed in the file explorer launched by OblyTile. I looked at the properties of the .exe and compared it to similar .exe's in the same directory like control.exe (control panel) and did not see any glaring differences.
Could someone help me figure out why "snipping tool.exe" does not show up when browsing for file path in OblyTile?
