Ultimate launcher mess up

ok so ive downloaded ultimater launcher.zip to my computer but i am confused on how to put it on my phone pleasehelp.
p.s sorry about this i suck with technology.

Is the file in the form of a .cab or .exe? Is the first question. If cab you have to get it moved from your computer to your device through active sync. If the file is an .exe then you need to sync up your device with Active Sync and then run the exe file from your computer and it should install for you, follow the on screen instructions.

If you look apparently no one answered it.

1) Unzip the file to get a .CAB file.
2) Place the .CAB file on your phone (using explore on your computer's ActiveSync).
3) Using file explorer on your phone, run the .CAB file, this will install it.
4) Go to your settings, Today options and remove all plugins from the today screen, but add the plugin for ultimate launcher.
5) On the main screen, use the blue UL icon to customize the program.

I get how to put it on now but im new to this whole smart phone thing. how exactly do i get that on my phone because i dont know how to use active sync i mean i explore open up my documents where i saved it and then it tried cutting and pasting it on like it said in help but nothing is working so if someone could help me with that please

I guess he's using the shotgun approach(Not the person on this forum the weapon) it's bound to hit something.

LOL it seems the only slug to hit though is in the far side of the forum that is as far away from cutting and pasting as you can get.
First. Unzip the file and extract it onto your desktop. If you have a storage card in the phone then when you connect the phone open up the "Mobile Device" option and go into "My Mobile Device" then selct "Storage Card" Try saving the extracted cab file into there

First, sorry for my English, I am from germany, it's just my school english!
I've heard from a HTC G-Sensor Emulator for non-htc devices.
But I am a newbie, and I don't know how it works, and wich Files I need.
So Please help me. I need the Files for the GM750, and a Tutorial wich helps me.

Thanks for the tool, but how to configure it? After copying it in the windows folder, a istall message popped up, finished installing, started the program from windows folder, some configuration window appeared, tryied to configure it, but nothing happens. Same behaviour. The screen rotates for iexplorer, sms and a few other programs that worked before too.

I added a DONATE button... my HTC Magic device was stolen.. i need a new one for testing...
Once i have enough for it i will remove the donate button :0)
Now with Mac support :0)
The idea is basic... start the application and drag & drop all your .apk files and they will get installed on your device.
It will accept multiple files, multiple folders or a combination... the app. will automatically pick up any file with the extension .apk or .APK... so just simply drag&drop.
Or you can just double click on any .apk file and the app. will install it for you without the graphical part starting up.
You can follow the progress on the app. and/or find a log.txt inside the folder "Logs". Just make sure to extract the application to a folder where you have write permission or there will be no log files!!!!
A log will be made regardless of the graphical part starting up or not.
Do not forget to give it time to install or the log will be incomplete.
If you want the "-r" flag set then check the comboBox named doReInstall.
The flag "-r" will basically install the app even if it is already installed, but will not disturb the app's settings.
See the adb doc for more info.
DO NOT TOUCH THE "Tools" AND "Logs" FOLDERS....
NOR SHOULD YOU MOVE/TOUCH THE ".bat" OR ".sh" FILES (unless you KNOW what you are doing).
Windows:
Double click on the "AppInstaller.jar" file or on the "WindowsRunMe.bat" to start the graphical app.
If you want the .apk double-click feature do the following:
1)Right-click on any .apk file and choose "properties".
2)Under "Opens with" row choose "change".
3)Navigate to where the "WindowsRunMe.bat" is located and select it.
4)Choose "ok" then "Apply".
5)Enjoy :0)
Remember that the log files will still be under the "Logs" folder.
You want the reInstall-feature when you use the double clicks? Then right-click on the .bat file and choose "edit".
Change "DOREINSTALL=false" to "DOREINSTALL=true". Save!
That's it :0)
Linux(Ubuntu running gnome desktop/nautilus) :
DO NOT START THE APP WITH DOUBLE CLICK...IT WILL NOT LOAD CORRECTLY.
ALWAYS USE "LinuxRunMe.sh" SCRIPT.
REMEMBER TO GIVE THE SCRIPT EXECUTE PERMISSION :0)

3)Choose "use custom command" and navigate to where the "LinuxRunMe.sh" file is located and select it.

I tested it on both linux and windows(xp + 7). It was working fine.
The adb binary are inside the Tools folder... So there is no need to set the system-path thingy..

There are much better Solutions for Windows like DroidExplorer and AndroidCommander. Dont know if they are aviable for Linux/Max.

Did not know about them..
But this is a single purpose solution... INSTALL OF APK(s).
The other tools are way to cluttered and advanced...
This is simple and fast....
I like it :0)

Yeah I know what your app does but I didn't feel like making a whole new thread just for double-clicking APKs, I know your app does it in your own way.
Perhaps you could also incorporate it in your app so that people can also install by double-click in addition to batch installation with your app

I found out that you can install apk using htc sync...
Plus i only have > 120 downloads... not worth spending more time on it...

How to view/parse WP7 registry hive files (user.hv, system.hv)

Does anybody know how to view/browse/export in readable format WP7 registry hives, user.hv & system.hv?
I'm trying to resolve issue with LiveID change; and I found (using hex viewer), the old LiveID still exists (two entries) in the system.hv, but I can't find the exact path to these values

mRegEdit should work if I remember it's name correctly There are also guides on this section for changing the live id through registry without resetting the phone. That search on the top of this page works

Hmm... Seems like you should try that search first... I wrote that guide, first of all.
Second, mRegEdit (it's a link in my first post! you don't even tried to click!) is NOT working for WP7 hive files (and I don't have source code).
Before post useless "suggestions" and RTFM advises, next time try to understand and research issue first.

We do actually read Q&A, or at least I do, but yeah... I've never tried pulling apart the hive files directly. It would be nice if the Search feature in the TouchXperience registry editor would actually search the data like it claims to do... there's only one registry key, and no registry values, that have my live ID as their name.
There is a way to do a full registry dump of a mounted hive. It requires being able to read the output of provxml, though - not sure if that's possible on Samsung. I could try doing it on my (HTC) phone and then search it for my Live Id, however. Basically, do a characteristic-query on a root element, and enable recursion.
It's also worth noting that the Live ID may not be stored as an email address everywhere that matters. Some features might just store a GUID, for example. I don't know of anything that does, but if you manage to change all of the email strings but are still having problems, that might be why.

GoodDayToDie, I've copied hive files (system.hv and user.hv) using WP7 Root Tools (from the \Windows\Registry) to desktop (via ISF) I'm not sure, may be it's just a shadow copies but both files have my new LiveID inside. Also I found 2 entries of the old LiveId (and already found location of the first - it's \HCLM\Software\Microsoft\Zune\Usage\SignedInUser) but that value change to the new one, current LiveID + reboot don't help much.
Probably, previous LiveID's hash or token is stored somewhere in the registry I'm afraid, without tracing it will be very hard to find one...

Update: I found a way to decode (but partially, unfortunately) these registry hives
Unpack attached archive, copy system.hv and user.hv to that directory and run 1.bat.

if you want to use that program, you must first use in conjunction with WMDC/ActiveSync Launcher.

Another "hmm"... I don't need drag&drop (you can see my status, I'm not a noob but experienced developer with ... he-he, le' me remember ... more than 20 years of development), I'm using Far Manager (and may recommend it to you). But HVEdit can't parse WP7 hive files (with or without drag&drop). If you don't believe me, try yourself, it's very easy.

oops, my mistake. i don't know about mRegEdit, haven't ever used or read of until now, for that matter. CeRegEditor can open *.hv, but not all registry are opened.

aren't you looking to do this? see below attachments.

I've tried on my hive files, copied from the working Focus (by using WP7 Root Tools + ISETool) and HVEdit can't parse these files. May be because I've copied already opened files or shadow copies (I'm not sure).
Your example is for default.hv (I believe, that file was extracted from ROM, not from the working phone, correct?)
P.S. By the way, I already "solved" parsing hives (see my posts above) but it didn't solve the "change LiveID" problem Looks like WP7 stored somewhere previous LiveID token or hash.

when i get home, i will extract the two *.hv files from my HD7 and give it a try.
i believe i had done that before and it worked, but can't be positive on whether i actually did or not.

Hi mate,
If I understand correctly I believe sh4d0w86 is right, with HVedit you can view/browse/export in readable format WP7 registry hives like user.hv, system.hv and even default.hv.
I am doing that since I cook my first WP7 custom ROM.
Just drag the *.hv file on top of HVedit.exe and immediatly an *hvm file will be created that can easly be edited with any text editor.
Than you can do the same drag and drop process with the *.hvm and the file will be restored to *.hv again.

hmm. well, sounds like you should try WMDC Launcher in conjunction with WMDC/ActiveSync and maybe WP7 Root Tools v0.9.

Try for what? As I said before, I already found places with the old LiveID (so I don't need parsing tool anymore), but changing to the new LiveID didn't solve the SkyDrive/Twitter access issue.

LG KDZ Crawler [UPDATE]

sorry for my english, i´m a kraut
some people will remember my snooper i published in the ICS/JB-Thread.
I wrote a php-script the crawls the lg-servers for firmware. short introducing for a long time work
you can test it in action at: LG-Firmwarescanner Beta
what my script can do for you:
- search for fw´s for your LG-model (LGP920, LGP880, LGP920H, LGP925, LGP970, LGSU760 for now)
- search for specific version (froyo, gb & ics, ics only)
- search for final and beta firmwares, custom-folder needed for beta (useless until no folders a know so far)
- search for VxxA-VxxN & VxxA-VxxP (VxxN is quicker)
- write every found file to a txt-file
- zip&mail the txt-files
- upload the txt-files to a ftp
- write the results to mysql
- list the results from mysql
- download the kdz when a V29x is found
a readme and an english-version will follow.
note: the script runs "for me" in my own home-server/xamp. if somebody finds the reason for non-working on hosted-server, pleas let me know.

requires a php5-environment, unrar the content to a folder with 777 permissions

when you scan for beta you need a custom folder, without folder no scan

Do you know some folder ? Is there a tip to find there folders ?

No custom-folder for the 920 is known so far. bruteforce ist useless

I know this will be an exteme solution and would literally take days and not even sure if it will work, but can you make a script which automatically runs generated custom-folder to try and find a beta file, ie from aaaaaa to zzzzzz and 1-9, and it saves what it has already searched by any user . so it starts from aaaa and then moves aaab , but it saves that its already searched aaaa and so if someone else tries it starts from aaac, if that makes sense. Then as a community we can continue running the script
let me triy to explain with an example below
so the script starts at custom-folder
aaaa --then completes the set (28,29,30,31) then moves to
aaab --then completes the set moves to
aaac --then completes the set moves to
aaad---and lets say that user decides to close the script. but another user comes along and wants to run the script, instead of starting from
aaaa ---the script saves the folders which have been serached and its starts from
aaae

all custom-folders seems to be 10 caracters, capital letters mixed with numbers

well ive got it running lol, but does this look for the folder only, or the whole file like a kdz, because i think if its searching just the folder it will never be found, since it still shows a "connection" when you try to look for a folder that you can download a kdz from , i could be wrong,
ie: lets say when you try this link it'll download the file http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP920/AHASML/V20e_00/V20E_00.kdz
but when you try link below, it always shows not found

or is that how it works with the beta folder?

when my script tries to access an existing folder, answer is: HTTP/1.1 405 Method Not Allowed, because indexing is off
when it tries to access an unexisting folder: HTTP/1.1 404 Not found
my script dies, when it gets an 405-answer.

the script writes every folder to database and take another folder when its found in database
but, i said it already, it´s useless.
26 possible letters + 10 possible numbers = 36
10 letters per folder = 36*36*36*36*36*36*36*36*36*36 =
3.656.158.440.062.976 combinations

So do you, as in you , actually see if there is a 405-answer, or is it recorded, if it ever finds one?? you know just in case someone does run the script and comes across a 405-answer, but doesnt know where to go from there
i got 405 on http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/RNDTESTSW/LGP920/NEU/ , but it doesnt show which cutom- folder it came from

for now, it writes every 405-folder in database too, marked as 405 .

yeah it would be ridiculouslytime consuming, but theres no other way..yet
Are you able to put it onto a online server which continues the process, so its always running??

no, afaik php needs a browser to run.

any chance you can add the P870? My wife just got this phone for free and i'm trying to find a backup kdz just in case

Post the result of this:

replace IMEI with.... your IMEI but delete your IMEI from the results before posting
