Windows Mobile 6 - Titanium 2 (WM6Ti) for Universal ?

I'm starting this thread because I saw this amazing ROM for Wizard. Http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=310864&highlight=titanium+2
Is it possible for this ROM, under modification, to run on our Universals?
And how difficult that would be?

Sorry but I'm new with WM phones. Still using my Treo 650. I didn't understand that very well. Already tried that ROM. I thought it would simulate the one of I-phone with the HTC cube but I didn't find that fuction. Could you be a little more specific?

ROMs for Wizards wont work on Universals.
It is very difficult to port a ROM from one device to another.
We already have several WM6 ROMs for the Universal. Pick one.
Then just install those other apps they included on the WM6Ti ROM.
About the HTC cube thingy on Elf (Touch), they haven't figured out how to get them to work on Universal yet. And since only few devs are left working on the Universal now.. you probably won't see that happening soon.
Don't ask me for links.. I don't have any.

I've installed the New HTC Home Plug for the Wizrd it runs well, but the problem is that the row which shows the missed phone calls, the sms and the e-mails appears only the by half. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Think it's a problem with using the same CABs between VGA and non-VGA phones.

What do you mean by "since only few devs are left working on the Universal"? I haven't seen as many on the other forums, as on the universal one, or am I wrong?

We used to have Midget_1990, helmi_c, indra, etc.
The only ones left are Ivan, Laurentius26, and kdskamal making new ROMs.
Laurentius26 and kdskamal only creates new ROMs via the kitchen using the same old base ROMs.. so they're not really the kind of guys that ports a ROM from one device to another, but of course they could also do it in due time, that's why I said we are not going to see that anytime soon.
Besides, they don't need to port those ROMs since we already have a very good base ROM (courtesy of Midget). All that is needed to do is fix a few problems (wifi, mms, and that bloody video call). And that's what our master guru god Laurentius26 is doing.

Can anybody confirm if Jwrightcmp is working on an updated ROM for the universal with the current build.

Midget's currently using a Himalaya, he broke his Uni. He's planning to get the Advantage for his next device. I don't know about the others.

Just crappy ugly "NEW" comm manager

Hi there,
can anyone tell me how to get rid of this UGLY "NEW" comm manager style? Anyone like it? Iam really scared of the graphics which can some people cook into their roms and new version of OCTAVOI has this version of commman too, so its the hell on earth for me! like someone steal my candy!
Is there a ROM based on new build which has not USELESS things cooked into? I just want new build with original Microsoft/HTC/Touch/Cube graphics!
I dont know if this comm man is originally styled by HTC if its true so its first styled component/application i dont really like and it sucks my blood...

i second that but then that would only mean that we would have to help the chefs on this site. they offer us cooked roms with many customization. im sure they dont have time for graphics so lets get sometalented members to help out make the future roms look sexy. perhaps we can have a graphics area for all the phones since there many that would be comon.

Look for the 9 button or 10 Button Kaiser CommManager. Thats what I use in XM6 and is what you are asking for. I agree, I don't care for the other commManager's looks (although, the "Nuclear Powerplant one" you point out isn't too bad but I still like the other).
I'll look to see if I have a cab, but I have the packages (and they've been posted here. I know theloon's kitchen for the 318 rom has the Kaiser CommManager package and that can be used on any rom you cook (its not 318 specific).

Personally I've found the 318 rom (even though its "older") much more stable than the "newer" (higher number) builds which are all ports from other devices. I'd be curious what is in the newer stuff that you think is better (not a trick question, just wondering what I'm missing or what I can look to improve in a 318 build).

Agree! I'm using already two weeks mfrazzz's (thank you!) XM6 R3 (OS 5.2.318 Build 15342.4.0.01). No issues! Everything looks good and works great and fast! Even screen calibration bug is gone. C'mon flash this ROM and be happy, there's actually nothing better in versions with higher numbers!

100% agree ... i am able to do some things, but as i looked around there are also the others who wants... the boot-ups logos drafts for TNT was great... If anyone wants to help with some design things, just contact me

The thing that i really hate about it is this red/greed circles. It is absolutelly ugly in my eyes and this have not to be in such pretty graphics. All is in one style done with perfection and this is what breaking all. Also the ON/OFF text isnt great there.

Its nothing special with roms i think. Its something in me. Specific HIGHER NUMBER SYNDROM ;-) ... but you all are true. I missed reading what are the advantages and just flash, but what was the best rom ever? For me it was faria's AIRAF Stable, great, but missing OneNote (i though that PS's Office2007 can install it to WM device). So the answer is: The bug in me

Hey man, just downloading it, im currious if it will be okay for me. I just want the HomeScreen plugin (this big clock are great and well styled so it fits my needs) and also the Touch/Cube graphics is perfect, but i dont know if its available in .318 versions.

I actually quite like the look (the so called Nuclear Power Plant) and was wondering if anyone had a cab for it. To me it is simple and clean. I'd love to have it over the one I have now which is the 10 button.

Go over to the Kaiser forum and there is a sticky for a list of cabs. Dutty has a site where you can download cabs, and I believe this one is there. If not, ask in that thread and someone will probably have it for you.

download unsigner, use it, do reshack operation(change resources), sign commgr.exe, cook rom/overwrite/shadow file. be happy.

Rebump. I can't seem to find one. I would really love to have this: Something like the google G1's background; It moves when you slide from tab to tab.

SPB mobile shell does this. But its a paid app. Try throttle launcher, that has it to (check windows mobiel deveopment themes and apps forum). I havent come across a mod for sense that does it.

I remember this for a few versions of Sense/ Manila/ TF3D ago. I wanna say it was TF3D 2.0 or something around there. I am not sure if those mods will work or are compatible with the newer versions of Sense 2.5

I have a gif of a loading bar that I want as the bootscreen, but i have 0 experience with photoshop. Also, if you could just put LOADING in gray text above it, that would up the cool factor. I can PM you the gif if you want.

Why should I flash this rom when I could flash a similar rom like Damage's?
I mean nothing harsh or offensive by it, but I am just curious to see what sets it apart from others I'm glad to see it though

I don't mean to be rude either, but the OP didn't go into much depth to describe the ROM... what was changed, added, removed, etc...
I don't think he was asking to be sold on the ROM, but maybe some more details about the ROM would be helpful.

My apologies for sounding rash, but isn't what he has to say the OP?

Okay I'll admit that I was ddisappointed not to at least see a list of added/removed apps, but that just made me just decide to keep my current setup.

I fall asleep for 6 hours and this turns into a battle? Hmm. If you don't like my rom, flash someone else's or tell me what would make it better so I know to add it.

Remember guys, this is still in BETA, so... yeah. No beta release is that great.

you still haven't told anybody what you did to this rom

Just post a little more information about the Rom and some screenshots. And if you still need help on the bootscreen i can help. I made the Sushi Bootscreen as well as the Logos.

I'm working on an update for it... starting now. I'll include the new "welcome to now" Sprint bootscreen, that's pretty slick

When I get the new version up, I'll be sure to put up more details and screenshots....

New version is almost up... give it a few minutes to completely process. I have a sloooooow server. Hope you guys enjoy!

3g icons?

im building my new rom and id like to incorp the 3g icons into my theme, can anybody point me in the right direction and maybe tell me where to put the icons and such?

they should be in the com.htc.resources in the res/drawable-mdpi folder.

Yup...your phone is told to display either 3G or evdo or 1x....find which one your ROM is told to display and locate those pngs in the com.htc.resources.apk and change them in photoshop or whatnot to the 3G icons (which will also be in the resources.apk)
...they will ALL be easy to locate, just look for pngs that are titled signalcdma6bars or 3G or evdo or 1x....
It's a bit of fishing, but one inside, you'll start picking up what is what and changing what need to be what.

They're in your phone already. Open up the apk and look around, you might be surprised what you find

yea isnt it crazy the jog arrows for the 2.0 lock are there already. it seems there is a ton of images not being used.

It's a little disappointing. I wonder how small a rom someone could build if they removed all the stuff that never gets used. It's like they built an os and rather than building new ones they just update it from device to device. It would be cool to see one that had nothing extra in it.

my new rom is based on fresh 2.0d with a **** ton of fixes. i have successfully stripped the rom of all sense and it works great, im themeing it now. yes tonight i will try to make a custom sense version too.
my old rom that was based on damage & sushi have that awake time bug due to the kernel, drained my battery over 50% last night while not being used.

unless I'm mistaken I don't think it would be possible for any of us to do it. I think all the files in a given apk are logged when it's compiled and although I've never tried it I suspect that if you removed even one png (or even just renamed or resized one) it would disable the apk. But don't quote me

Why didn't they look right? They should have the same footprint and bg as the evdo ones.

Again, don't quote me, I think a transparent png would be the same, or at least not much different in size. The file has to indicate something for each pixel whether it's a color or transparent.
*edit- I'll check some of my transparent png's against the stock ones and see if there's a difference

the taskbar is a black gloss and the 3g icons had a flat black background. your icons fit in perfect. im about to test one more thing, then ill be releasing V3.0 with a donate link!

I'm not sure about the system ones, but I did change some of the png's in the weather widget and forgot to resize the images to the correct size and it still worked.
I am actually going to give this a try with the framework-res apk and let you know. I will delete the some of the png's not used, but keep the folder and then flash and will let you know.
