I have a gif of a loading bar that I want as the bootscreen, but i have 0 experience with photoshop. Also, if you could just put LOADING in gray text above it, that would up the cool factor. I can PM you the gif if you want.

I don't mean to be rude either, but the OP didn't go into much depth to describe the ROM... what was changed, added, removed, etc...
I don't think he was asking to be sold on the ROM, but maybe some more details about the ROM would be helpful.

Okay I'll admit that I was ddisappointed not to at least see a list of added/removed apps, but that just made me just decide to keep my current setup.
I fall asleep for 6 hours and this turns into a battle? Hmm. If you don't like my rom, flash someone else's or tell me what would make it better so I know to add it.

Just post a little more information about the Rom and some screenshots. And if you still need help on the bootscreen i can help. I made the Sushi Bootscreen as well as the Logos.
I'm working on an update for it... starting now. I'll include the new "welcome to now" Sprint bootscreen, that's pretty slick
When I get the new version up, I'll be sure to put up more details and screenshots....

i dont think its that simple, the kernel would need to have the modules compiled for it and deps too.
cant use any apps that require root.. just a heads up.

You aren't too bright for a senior member. Apparently, you didn't notice the version # or the fact that he calls it a BETA! Everyone's eclair is missing something. King's rom has A2SD and swap, CC's doesn't. Not to mention he tells you from the jump there is no WiFi. If you don't like it, then don't flash it.

You are correct. I have been reading the forum for years and this was the first time I posted, mostly because I don't like contributing to back and forth banter like our current discussion. My point was that he isn't new to XDA and therefore knows what a beta is. I also pointed out that King's ROM is sporting features that another eclair is missing. I felt my point was a valid one and had a place on this thread. On the other hand, further argument between us does not. Here is a project I have been working on for a couple days I would like to share with you. This is a pure, unmodified Android 1.6 Donut ROM.
Remember, this is a PRE-ALPHA, so don't expect stability, or anything extraordinary. UPDATED: Okay, this thing is now usable. Ive combined AOSP code and The HTC ADP1 ROM so everything on the doesn't work list now works. The only things that dont work are the Apps2SD and Su (working on this as we speak). This ROM is also 100% stock.

Speed is the most important, and with all of this broken it wont help. Try making something of the new eris port.

you're not being helpful by saying that, this kid (i'm assuming, could be wrong) just wants to learn how to build ROMs and is asking for help.
Is this rom built straight off of AOSP or is it another rom and you put own touches? Because it will help alot more so i can see if i can fix some of the broken apps for you

It is built straight off AOSP, with the goal of being really fast, as fast as any other really good donut rom. But none of the other google apps work out of the box on AOSP, as I probably should have known. I would really appreciate it if you could help me out on this.

Why should I want to flash this? Or rather, why should I want to flash this once it's more developed? What is this going to have that Cyanogen or Super D or CSDI doesn't?
My point is, it'd be a good idea to maybe put something out there that you're planning on implementing into this that no one else is doing, or that you can do better. We have several stable, incredibly fast Donut roms out there right now, so what should set this apart from the rest of the crowd?
Just my two cents. I'd love to see this turn into something spectacular.

So would I. To one poster on this thread, I am just a person with computer skills who just got interested in Android two days ago. However, I do have plans for this rom, something that may or may not be possible. Any developer who is interested in the concept please pm me, and tell me if I am dreaming things up that are impossible or not.
EDIT: Okay, I guess its not that top secret, post ideas here too, if you like. My idea is to create a donut rom with the speed and stability of Android 1.6 on the G1, but with the ability to run 2.1 3d apps natively. Essentially, take what cyanogen has done with his ROMs to a whole new level. Impossible? Probably. Opinions, people who actually have experience with Android?

I guess it is, i mean donut stock is perfect, but again no need to theme it with what u like, leave it stock and give the link and option to theme it, I love stock donut ROms
From the department of stabbing in the dark, it sounds like your Google apps aren't signed with the right keys. I believe they need to be signed with the same keys as the rest of the /system/app apps you build off the source. Swim through Cyanogen's Twitter posts as I believe he's answered this there before (or just try resigning them and see if it works.)
To the Author:
Good job on your first build. Keep up the hard work. It sounds to me like you might not have added the GApps after you compiled it from kernel, but I could be wrong as I haven't flashed it. But don't lose hope, you'll get it.
To The Other Users:
I'm a bit disappointed in some of the replies I've been reading. It seems like a lot of you only really care about how this rom effects you, rather than how it effects the author in general. You don't build giant empire over night, but it does show that he put a lot of effort into the build. If you don't like it, don't use it, but don't make remarks that bring the developer down.

Lol, I believe you, how about taking off the photo stock and adding the Gallery3D - I think people like that better, or course as long as it works fast with no lags and that can do landscape without issues or escaping from it without crashing the phone I am sure you know what I mean.
Ohh now that we are talking about ASOP, anyway to get the Android KB on this OMG that would be the blast, it can make this ROM unique from the others.

Lol, I believe you, how about taking off the photo stock and adding the Gallery3D - I think people like that better, or course as long as it works fast with no lags and that can do landscape without issues or escaping from it without crashing the phone I am sure you know what I mean.
Ohh now that we are talking about ASOP, anyway to get the Android KB on this OMG that would be the blast, it can make this ROM unique from the others.

trust me...its unique, the only reason its not in there is because when i sign into google 50000 times a day,aosp has no .com or long press # buttons. Ill put one up like that anything else???

Hey, good work and thanks for developing the ROM, I'll test once you have a link... but in the meantime, could you please fix the front page... at least use some formatting and make it a little less disorganized? I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I'm sure it'll help you if your front page has a coherent flow instead of a "all-in-one-paragraph" style format.... or maybe that's just what I think.

It is based off of my screen name, which I first started using on the internet about 11 years ago when the movie came out.

Sorry if you felt that this was directed at you, I was making a generalized statement about these rom's that combine the names of several sources to make a 'new' name. I merely tried to tie in each 2.1 rom currently released in my super uber long name.
Actually I kind of like the name of your rom, since I happen to be a big fan of the movie myself.

Does this rom have apps2sd or live wallpapers and and the wired teathering thingy and will it turn my hero into a EVO because Im already tired of waiting and if it dont then this rom sux.

Does anyone know where com.HTC.rosieutility is located or what on here could still be causing it to fc on boot it doesn't affect the phone at all its just annoying seeing that every reboot

Yup you'll still be rooted with toasts method at least never touch the unrevoked root
I have no idea about 4g I would say probably not since I didn't change anything in that regard
I'll get back to u on the market

you will never get an aosp rom. 2.1 doesn't support wimax or the high video drivers. htc made the updates needed for those.

Ya sry about that but to be honest I like the little HTC touches here and there it actually tends to complement vanilla more then you might realize

by you saying this, does this mean some htc sense is still in this rom? i have a nexus one and i hate sense altogether, i'm looking for a rom that has no htc sense whatsoever.

WOW. almost 300 posts and you were WAITING for someone to rm a few apk's and then add one or 2? NO offense to you and i appreciate op just going thru the effort to share and ul, WE should all appreciate any contribution and if you have a problem with it just dont comment or use it. Just dont understand why you wouldnt just take 10 minutes and do it yourself. It takes ops longer cus hes also got wait for it to upload so he can share. This is not a crack and i am not a child. This is just my 2cents and what i thought while reading this comment.

Good job. Thanks for the speedy contribution towards our shiny new evo rom collection I remember liking sense and aosp so i like both and i always wanted sense to run right. That was everyones complaint with sense. Well thats not an issue anymore. I thought i would be all on it, like with my hero w/o thinking.....well as soon as i got my evo i forgot all that i learned about root and why to do it....JK but i am very satisfied with it and i will wait until i can access recovery and rw to system from device before i do. I spent the whole time i had my hero trying to make it into a device like this.....well now i have it Gimme a week and i think ill go to work.......

Those two things I can live without. Some devs said there were going to port an AOSP 2.1 ROM, but they haven't posted updates.

This is just the stock ROM with Sprint apps, HTC widgets, and the Sense launcher removed. It is still loaded with Sense.

as you can see i thougth sense was removed completely and if you think you can do that by just removing a few apks show me. also even if i had 1000 post, this could be my very 1st android phone and those 1000 posts wouldn't mean a damn thing, just my 2cents, if you don't have anything helpful to say, shut up.

Until we have fully functional aosp/froyo/2.2 you wont have a rom that will even work without a bunch of sense remnants wasting space on your internal storage and increasing rom size.HTC is a shiny ui htc used to lure in all the apple morons(no offense i used to have an iphone before my hero). and since they made the devices, they're plaguing software/htc sense is an integral part of the ruu they put together. This is the reason everyone always wants a non-sense rom or VANILLA. We will not have full function vanilla until toast or someone else here compiles an0ther makeshift kernel, or lastly when htc releases the source so that we can compile a kernel with the right device drivers, to give us a full function rom. It would be to say the least, very very very hard to just compile the right drivers for the htc device hardware, thus all the aosp/froyo with certain features such as cam, or 4G missing.......hope this helps you und3rstand what you are looking for a little bit more clearly. In theory, YOU or I could create the source code for the kernel and drivers. Is that going to HAPPEN?????????????????? Probably not. Rosies gone and most of the apps that where randomly coming on and wasting mem/batt. Are gone this is all I'm worried and it runs nice as **** I mean has anybody that had something bad to say even try it

search my name in xda search youll find PLENTY of inter3sting things ive said. Do your own homework before instulting me or anyone else please.I meant neither of you any disrespect. I was explaining myself a little better and when i put up the 2nd post i saw this. This is an open forum right? well thats my opinion and some info. I noticed what you did when i looked. Just wondering, were you unhappy with your evo when you got it? or did you just make a new rom to give everyone another choice of rom? or maybe even your personal, like i do sometimes? Just curious.....
@ops. I never spoke ill of your work, jic you took it that way, im not that guy. I appreciate any contributions to the community and have spent months of my own time staying up finishing up things ive been working to complete my self in order to ul and share with the community.
