Does anyone know where com.HTC.rosieutility is located or what on here could still be causing it to fc on boot it doesn't affect the phone at all its just annoying seeing that every reboot

Yup you'll still be rooted with toasts method at least never touch the unrevoked root
I have no idea about 4g I would say probably not since I didn't change anything in that regard

you will never get an aosp rom. 2.1 doesn't support wimax or the high video drivers. htc made the updates needed for those.

Ya sry about that but to be honest I like the little HTC touches here and there it actually tends to complement vanilla more then you might realize

WOW. almost 300 posts and you were WAITING for someone to rm a few apk's and then add one or 2? NO offense to you and i appreciate op just going thru the effort to share and ul, WE should all appreciate any contribution and if you have a problem with it just dont comment or use it. Just dont understand why you wouldnt just take 10 minutes and do it yourself. It takes ops longer cus hes also got wait for it to upload so he can share. This is not a crack and i am not a child. This is just my 2cents and what i thought while reading this comment.

Good job. Thanks for the speedy contribution towards our shiny new evo rom collection I remember liking sense and aosp so i like both and i always wanted sense to run right. That was everyones complaint with sense. Well thats not an issue anymore. I thought i would be all on it, like with my hero w/o thinking.....well as soon as i got my evo i forgot all that i learned about root and why to do it....JK but i am very satisfied with it and i will wait until i can access recovery and rw to system from device before i do. I spent the whole time i had my hero trying to make it into a device like this.....well now i have it Gimme a week and i think ill go to work.......

Those two things I can live without. Some devs said there were going to port an AOSP 2.1 ROM, but they haven't posted updates.

This is just the stock ROM with Sprint apps, HTC widgets, and the Sense launcher removed. It is still loaded with Sense.

Until we have fully functional aosp/froyo/2.2 you wont have a rom that will even work without a bunch of sense remnants wasting space on your internal storage and increasing rom size.HTC is a shiny ui htc used to lure in all the apple morons(no offense i used to have an iphone before my hero). and since they made the devices, they're plaguing software/htc sense is an integral part of the ruu they put together. This is the reason everyone always wants a non-sense rom or VANILLA. We will not have full function vanilla until toast or someone else here compiles an0ther makeshift kernel, or lastly when htc releases the source so that we can compile a kernel with the right device drivers, to give us a full function rom. It would be to say the least, very very very hard to just compile the right drivers for the htc device hardware, thus all the aosp/froyo with certain features such as cam, or 4G missing.......hope this helps you und3rstand what you are looking for a little bit more clearly. In theory, YOU or I could create the source code for the kernel and drivers. Is that going to HAPPEN?????????????????? Probably not. Dont worry though, we have toast, so we happen to have a head start in the race.....

Rosies gone and most of the apps that where randomly coming on and wasting mem/batt. Are gone this is all I'm worried and it runs nice as **** I mean has anybody that had something bad to say even try it

search my name in xda search youll find PLENTY of inter3sting things ive said. Do your own homework before instulting me or anyone else please.I meant neither of you any disrespect. I noticed what you did when i looked. Just wondering, were you unhappy with your evo when you got it? or did you just make a new rom to give everyone another choice of rom? or maybe even your personal, like i do sometimes? Just curious.....
@ops. I never spoke ill of your work, jic you took it that way, im not that guy. I appreciate any contributions to the community and have spent months of my own time staying up finishing up things ive been working to complete my self in order to ul and share with the community. Needless to say, I KNOW WHERE YOURE COMING FROM. When i can give us a new choice of rom or theme i too will begin work.....

Why is no one porting MotoBlur and Pulse to the Sapphire MT3G? Why is everyone so stuck on Hero?
There HAVE been blur ports in the past. Do a little research before you make generalized statements. And Hero is more popular because it already came off an HTC device. It's easier to cook.

I think part of the reason is that GPS and WiFi don't work, which means the uptake is a lot less. Once WiFi and GPS are working (which apparently won't happen until Dragon is available) then I'd bet more ports of these roms will start to appear. I like Blur and would make it my permanent rom if the wireless wasn't an issue.

because hero comes from an HTC phone wich would lead one to believe it would be much easier to run on our HTC phones...
motoblur was alright didnt like the feel and its hard to make moto and HTC play nice
Pulse....welll.... i think pulse sucked others like it though
I know there are at least 3 pulse roms that are decent and there are 2-3 blur roms that run enough to use

Im running a Blur Rom that WiFi is working on but there were no instructions on partition setup, if any. It is real smooth but when I put my own wallpaper on, it seems to slow down a bit.

Can you Post a Link to the WiFi working Blur?
I've not seen any Blur with WiFi working at all due to the Kernel requirements.
I will have to find the link for you guys. The Rom is running on my MT3G 32B Rooted. Im going to assume that the WiFi works for that Im using WiFi Tether to connect to the internet with my laptop as I type. I will get a link after while. The file name is MotoCliq_v0.5.zip. I think Drizzy put it out. Not for certain though.

The reason for the lack of ports is honestly the firmware being so tied to social aspects. All the "cool" features are in the UI with the social stuff, but the rest of the firmware... well... sucks. I ported both and got bored in a couple days. Hero has new dumps and new versions of sense and the prospect of updating to 1.6 and eventually 2.0 These are done. One dump, one version, no projected future. Not much room to grow. Hero has all the features this does and then some, with the exception of universal inbox and the way launcher reacts. Pulse isnt really much of a ROM, either. Its just a cool UI and a bunch of paid apps put together into a firmware.

I hear ya. I just get tired of looking at the same bottom bar and out of all the times I try to ask for help, no one wants to share on how to get started making my own with my own look. I have seen a hero rom with a somewhat Pulse bottom bar and it looked killer but the slowness of the rom was not bareable.
I actually flashed the new Andriod 2.0 Eclair to my phone. It is a stripped down Rom and has nothing in it but MAN do I like the lock screen and menu play. Very nice, clean and cool. I wish I had Eclair with a MotoBlur look and feel and Hero internals. I do like Blur's social widgets. Nice!

Dude, its a 2.1 ROM for a device thats supposed to only be working with 1.5 for now. Just be glad we have it working close to 100%.

What does (not) donating and liking Obama have to do with a ROM? Here is what I did. I took the base ROM, took out what I don't use, put in what I did use, and re-signed it to make my own custom ROM. The instructions are on this very forum. I suggest you try it.
I am not sure why this is not included in any of the 2.1 Roms it was in the leaked desire Rom that modaco ported to the nexus one.
I have already tried installing this to the Eris 2.1 and to the new Fresh 2.1 and it just FC's upon being started.
I am looking into why it does that but as of right now I have no idea.
I could be wrong on this but I am pretty sure that friendstream is part of the updated Sense that HTC is working on not an Android app. So this won't be out until we can get the new Sense working which I don't think anyone has had any luck with.

We have a version of the new sense already. Modaco ported the Desire Rom to the Nexus one that has working FriendStream and NewsReader
I am not sure what is causing them not to work as of yet.
my guess is that this is the reason why the "get more HTC widgets" thing doesn't work. maybe the friendstream and news widgets can be downloaded once they get the support for verizon customers ready.

Here is a project I have been working on for a couple days I would like to share with you. This is a pure, unmodified Android 1.6 Donut ROM.
Remember, this is a PRE-ALPHA, so don't expect stability, or anything extraordinary. UPDATED: Okay, this thing is now usable. Ive combined AOSP code and The HTC ADP1 ROM so everything on the doesn't work list now works. The only things that dont work are the Apps2SD and Su (working on this as we speak). This ROM is also 100% stock.

Speed is the most important, and with all of this broken it wont help. Try making something of the new eris port.

Is this rom built straight off of AOSP or is it another rom and you put own touches? Because it will help alot more so i can see if i can fix some of the broken apps for you

It is built straight off AOSP, with the goal of being really fast, as fast as any other really good donut rom. But none of the other google apps work out of the box on AOSP, as I probably should have known. I would really appreciate it if you could help me out on this.

Why should I want to flash this? Or rather, why should I want to flash this once it's more developed? What is this going to have that Cyanogen or Super D or CSDI doesn't?
My point is, it'd be a good idea to maybe put something out there that you're planning on implementing into this that no one else is doing, or that you can do better. We have several stable, incredibly fast Donut roms out there right now, so what should set this apart from the rest of the crowd?
Just my two cents. I'd love to see this turn into something spectacular.

So would I. To one poster on this thread, I am just a person with computer skills who just got interested in Android two days ago. However, I do have plans for this rom, something that may or may not be possible. Any developer who is interested in the concept please pm me, and tell me if I am dreaming things up that are impossible or not.
EDIT: Okay, I guess its not that top secret, post ideas here too, if you like. My idea is to create a donut rom with the speed and stability of Android 1.6 on the G1, but with the ability to run 2.1 3d apps natively. Essentially, take what cyanogen has done with his ROMs to a whole new level. Impossible? Probably. Opinions, people who actually have experience with Android?

I guess it is, i mean donut stock is perfect, but again no need to theme it with what u like, leave it stock and give the link and option to theme it, I love stock donut ROms
From the department of stabbing in the dark, it sounds like your Google apps aren't signed with the right keys. I believe they need to be signed with the same keys as the rest of the /system/app apps you build off the source. Swim through Cyanogen's Twitter posts as I believe he's answered this there before (or just try resigning them and see if it works.)
To the Author:
Good job on your first build. Keep up the hard work. It sounds to me like you might not have added the GApps after you compiled it from kernel, but I could be wrong as I haven't flashed it. But don't lose hope, you'll get it.

I'm a bit disappointed in some of the replies I've been reading. It seems like a lot of you only really care about how this rom effects you, rather than how it effects the author in general. You don't build giant empire over night, but it does show that he put a lot of effort into the build. If you don't like it, don't use it, but don't make remarks that bring the developer down.

Try Beautiful Widgets, and no the Sense UI and Cy mod are not capable together. Maybe the kernel will sometime but not the actual rom. BTW major off with the section try Q&A next time before you get flamed hard.

This is development. You had an extremely simple question that could've been answered in cm's thread, or better yet in Q&A if you insist that your question is important enough to warrant it's own thread. Respect gets respect, even on the internet.

No because it's so much easier to port a whole ROM over than it is to do a hybrid. Theoretically, it would be possible to take the frameworks of Sense and apply them to the source.
Besides, your analogy seems kind of flawed. It's like saying a few days ago, "If it was possible to get full 3D and Video Acceleration on 2.1 we would've already done it." And all it took was one very dedicated and intelligent coder named Cyanogen doing it.

Even if it was possible we have to remember it has been out for two days and is an experimental rom. NOBODY wants to work for a few hours for a couple days only to have a new, more stable rom come out that could potentially break the work they just finished. They would rather have a rom that is "stable" and won't be replaced within days (Meaning yes, a long-term rom that won't be updated for 2+ weeks).

By the time that happens we will have all discarded our G1's. Do remember people do this as a hobby not for a job, that's for actual devs that do it for a job.

She's hot but she's tech retarded. Can you guys recommend a fairly bug free rom that's fairly easy for her to use? I hooked her up with miui on her old phone and she seems to be okay using that but I'd kind of like to give her a taste of ics. It seems like all the ics roms for the shift are pretty buggy. What do you guys think? Stick with miui? Or have her try an ics rom? Thanks guys.

You could have her run Supreme Sense v9.1. It's Stable and Fast right out of the box. Then you can flash an ICS Sandwhich Theme. There is THIS one by notso. Also there is one HERE by -somebody- ( no really that's his screen name ) .

Ummm it's not broken . It's a Hybrid Rom, and when it was made neither HTC, nor any of the Devs had figured out how to do Landscape on Sense 3.0. If landscape is a must, then there is always the HTC Flyer Rom that was ported .

This is stupid! The author of this post KNOWS sense 3.0 DOES NOT have landscape.
Virtuos unity hacked in the landscape mod and were adamant that nobody used their mod. The mod is open source now but, I can't blame strapped365 for not including it...
If it isn't broken, DON'T FIX IT! Supreme Sense and MikG are both GREAT ROMS...

You know what Dan, I'm tired of you and have been since I told you on Gtalk I wanted to kick you in the face, you always have something negative to say, you went behind my back pming users saying that my ROM broke your ear piece and to not flash it....this is why i left and is also the reason that I don't do **** anymore, I thought of a way I could include landscape but It's posts like this that show me it really isn't even worth it to try. So if you want to do something helpful think of something to do...like hell take my Rose.apk decompile it change the xml to activate landscape then find images sized for a 480x800 phone that does landscape and add the folder and images and HOPE it resizes lol take care guys

I think I can safely say that a good percentage of us here on the Shift forum truely appreciate the work that you do for us. ESPECIALLY SUPREME SENSE!!! Not to mention the fact that your always willing to help someone out with any issue. Even if it's not on Supreme.

But tell us how you really feel, because obviously that IM you sent me about "Oh I realize now why you were complaining about rotation in SS now, I finally flashed it on a shift and I see what you were complaining about now" was not what you really meant, I guess.
I never said SS was a bad ROM. Would I flash it for my dumb hot girlfriend? No, because she'd be complaining about the same thing and it's a functionality that would now be gone from her phone by flashing it. Stop taking it so personal.

How have you contributed again? Sure you have some guides on rooting that are basicly a re-hash of all the other guides out there, and a radio firmware thread. Where's your rom developement forums or links? You tell people that all roms besides U.K.E. and Mikshifted-G are not good and pm users about it. Then you expect to become a mod when you start **** around this community all the time. ROFL!

Well I figured out the 2.3.4 root exploit and how to unlock the new bootloader while working with Otaking71. But then again you wouldn't know that since you never hang out in #Htc_evo_Shift.

No it's not a root exploit or you could flash the eng bootloader right over the stock bootloader in adb shell. Unlocking the bootloader with htc tool is nothing new, it's been around for a long time now.
