[ROM] [Android 2.0] [Working] AOSP Eclair JD + Market, Nav, Facebook, etc

The main thread for this ROM is above, It's currently in testing at present, and will resemble any bugs at the above link.
This ROM is originally designed for sapphire, and works almost identical to the above, but other things not yet working are:
Wifi
Bluetooth

Stuck at work, otherwise I would give it a go... since it is made for a 32B board, worst case should be a boot loop.

I was thinking more: Worst case scenario - you'd have to flash a different room!
But... Now that you've mentioned the above, I've come to the realization of the chain of catastrophic events that could end civilization due to Android phones blowing up.

not brave really! its what nandroid backups are for!

guys, we have a green light so far. has booted without any issues ( after wiping ext, dalvik, etc)
signing in now to test the sync.

The only "issue" I've experienced so far is the camera not working on Sapphire and it's prompting for what to do on firstboot (should u use setup wizard etc)

afaik, camera isnt working on any 2.0 builds due to the lack of a new driver from HTC, so not really an issue as such.
Sync has completed sucessfully and doesnt seem to be looping....
will keep fiddling!

I believe one of the 2.0 Dream threads has the solution to the firstboot deal... can't remember which one, but it was a deal with it having 2 different setup apk's, IIRC... I will try to find the post.

Think Tank: Jit Toggle switch(10MB Ram Hack on/off switch)

is it possible to do a toggle switch or a widget for a 10MB ram hack boot.img. is it possible to switch back and fourth between boot.imgs to toggle ram hacks? like by the push of a button, add the ram hack and then remove it the same way for 3d

I believe Laszlo has a script in his rom to disable/enable ramhack....check it out.
If not...I know there is at least one rom floating around that has it.

They already have this just that devs aren't all using it yet I think one of 2 have it so you type this,that, and the third into term to switch b/t A & B.

Why so few have chosen to include it is beyond me... Im still working on it Just need the last file to edit seems everythings set up correct been working with wes on it lol however can't continue till wes is back off his hol seems he's gone to miami lol :/

Problem is, if you're looking for a quick push play game type thing, it won't work as expected. It will be a push, reboot, wait for things to settle, play game thing.

'parse'? there's nothing you can do. you cannot switch kernels without rebooting the phone, period.
I doubt you can enable/disable JIT without a reboot either, since it has to close all programs and rebuild them without JIT.

Apparently Wes said theres a script out there for parsing Jit but im yet to find it XD Im not sure on that anyway spareparts thing im doing is select and reboot anyway so idk lol

Well, yeah. Another simple way would be to have an update.zip containing only the boot.img. But that's not as much fun

Once again, define 'parse'. You *might* be able to get away with toggling JIT without a reboot, but I doubt it.

True.. but flashing can be fun too, lol! Hell, it's kind of addicting. I remember a few years ago we started a flashers anonymous group on this forum. it was really just a new thread in the dev. section but you get the idea....

That makes 0 sense. Do you know what streaming is, or even how JIT works :/ ?
Depending on how well the JIT is coded, it could possibly clear cache and recompile the applications via a toggle switch, but like I said, I doubt the beta Dalvik JIT is that complete :/.

I have a gif of a loading bar that I want as the bootscreen, but i have 0 experience with photoshop. Also, if you could just put LOADING in gray text above it, that would up the cool factor. I can PM you the gif if you want.

Glad to see another rom around that is based on the actual RUU and not someone else's rom haha. But here is a question I am going to start asking everyone who releases a rom.
Why should I flash this rom when I could flash a similar rom like Damage's?
I mean nothing harsh or offensive by it, but I am just curious to see what sets it apart from others I'm glad to see it though

I don't mean to be rude either, but the OP didn't go into much depth to describe the ROM... what was changed, added, removed, etc...
I don't think he was asking to be sold on the ROM, but maybe some more details about the ROM would be helpful.

My apologies for sounding rash, but isn't what he has to say the OP?

Okay I'll admit that I was ddisappointed not to at least see a list of added/removed apps, but that just made me just decide to keep my current setup.

I fall asleep for 6 hours and this turns into a battle? Hmm. If you don't like my rom, flash someone else's or tell me what would make it better so I know to add it.

you still haven't told anybody what you did to this rom

Just post a little more information about the Rom and some screenshots. And if you still need help on the bootscreen i can help. I made the Sushi Bootscreen as well as the Logos.

I'm working on an update for it... starting now. I'll include the new "welcome to now" Sprint bootscreen, that's pretty slick

When I get the new version up, I'll be sure to put up more details and screenshots....

Does anyone know where com.HTC.rosieutility is located or what on here could still be causing it to fc on boot it doesn't affect the phone at all its just annoying seeing that every reboot

Yup you'll still be rooted with toasts method at least never touch the unrevoked root
I have no idea about 4g I would say probably not since I didn't change anything in that regard
I'll get back to u on the market

you will never get an aosp rom. 2.1 doesn't support wimax or the high video drivers. htc made the updates needed for those.

Ya sry about that but to be honest I like the little HTC touches here and there it actually tends to complement vanilla more then you might realize

WOW. almost 300 posts and you were WAITING for someone to rm a few apk's and then add one or 2? NO offense to you and i appreciate op just going thru the effort to share and ul, WE should all appreciate any contribution and if you have a problem with it just dont comment or use it. Just dont understand why you wouldnt just take 10 minutes and do it yourself. It takes ops longer cus hes also got wait for it to upload so he can share. This is not a crack and i am not a child. This is just my 2cents and what i thought while reading this comment.

Good job. Thanks for the speedy contribution towards our shiny new evo rom collection I remember liking sense and aosp so i like both and i always wanted sense to run right. That was everyones complaint with sense. Well thats not an issue anymore. I thought i would be all on it, like with my hero w/o thinking.....well as soon as i got my evo i forgot all that i learned about root and why to do it....JK but i am very satisfied with it and i will wait until i can access recovery and rw to system from device before i do. I spent the whole time i had my hero trying to make it into a device like this.....well now i have it Gimme a week and i think ill go to work.......

Those two things I can live without. Some devs said there were going to port an AOSP 2.1 ROM, but they haven't posted updates.

This is just the stock ROM with Sprint apps, HTC widgets, and the Sense launcher removed. It is still loaded with Sense.

as you can see i thougth sense was removed completely and if you think you can do that by just removing a few apks show me. also even if i had 1000 post, this could be my very 1st android phone and those 1000 posts wouldn't mean a damn thing, just my 2cents, if you don't have anything helpful to say, shut up.

Until we have fully functional aosp/froyo/2.2 you wont have a rom that will even work without a bunch of sense remnants wasting space on your internal storage and increasing rom size.HTC is a shiny ui htc used to lure in all the apple morons(no offense i used to have an iphone before my hero). and since they made the devices, they're plaguing software/htc sense is an integral part of the ruu they put together. This is the reason everyone always wants a non-sense rom or VANILLA. We will not have full function vanilla until toast or someone else here compiles an0ther makeshift kernel, or lastly when htc releases the source so that we can compile a kernel with the right device drivers, to give us a full function rom. It would be to say the least, very very very hard to just compile the right drivers for the htc device hardware, thus all the aosp/froyo with certain features such as cam, or 4G missing.......hope this helps you und3rstand what you are looking for a little bit more clearly. In theory, YOU or I could create the source code for the kernel and drivers. Is that going to HAPPEN?????????????????? Probably not. Dont worry though, we have toast, so we happen to have a head start in the race.....

search my name in xda search youll find PLENTY of inter3sting things ive said. Do your own homework before instulting me or anyone else please.I meant neither of you any disrespect. I noticed what you did when i looked. Just wondering, were you unhappy with your evo when you got it? or did you just make a new rom to give everyone another choice of rom? or maybe even your personal, like i do sometimes? Just curious.....
@ops. I never spoke ill of your work, jic you took it that way, im not that guy. I appreciate any contributions to the community and have spent months of my own time staying up finishing up things ive been working to complete my self in order to ul and share with the community. Needless to say, I KNOW WHERE YOURE COMING FROM. When i can give us a new choice of rom or theme i too will begin work.....

[DEV] Android Revolution HD Alpha[unreleased]

Okay, so first thing first, the kitchen is awesome. I'm surprised no one else has jumped onto it.
Secondly, I know I have to fix up other ROMs to pure awesomeness, but school is buttraping me and I barely have time to do anything that actually requires thinking.
That all being said, I want to launch my own open beta team. I don't have all the time to test everything and fix everything on my own. As part of the beta team, you can test and even send in fixes for the ROM. Sadly I have to depend on others ATM, but school is soon coming to a close and it gets terrible at this time.
Now with the good stuff
This ROM is another port, it's a modified version of Sense 2.1. Came from the Desire HD. Still cooking right now, but I'll be out with it in a few moments (assuming it works; if it doesn't, we try a new ROM. )
It's coming soon, so be patient! And if you'd like to beta test, help, drop hints, or anything, just say so, all help is appreciated

That all being said, I want to launch my own open beta team. I don't have all the time to test everything and fix everything on my own. As part of the beta team, you can test and even send in fixes for the ROM. Sadly I have to depend on others ATM, but school is soon coming to a close and it gets terrible at this time.
Now with the good stuff
This ROM is another port, it's a modified version of Sense 2.1. Came from the Desire HD. Still cooking right now, but I'll be out with it in a few moments (assuming it works; if it doesn't, we try a new ROM. )
It's coming soon, so be patient! And if you'd like to beta test, help, drop hints, or anything, just say so, all help is appreciated

hey good luck with it.. i have just ported this myself and it has issues that r kernel related. this rom is uses ext4 make sure u edit ur ramdisk, u need to make init.glacier.rc for ext3 or else it will not boot. camera is really choppy and lacking trackpad wake.. i didnt go much further with testing... so if u need help with anything let me know, ill be happy to do what i can

it's all good, I like that ROM also... just looking for the MMS to be what I'm looking for. MMS I use at my job as well as personal life

Dude, I love you. (no homo). But you posted that too late. I flashed it and it didn't boot so I wen't back to my other ROM (just to sit there). I'll try that out, this ROM was incredibly sexy.

Well I can't release it yet :x it doesn't boot.. If I release it, I'd be making your devices a shiny fixable paperweight (although this does make a good paperweight).. I can't remember where i had even seen init.glacier.ro .. the kitchen does most of the work, but getting it to boot is my job.. once it at least boots, I'll release it hopefully it'll be by tonight. After that, I'll head back to RCMixGlacier to fight round two with the camera.

The RCMixGlacier went pretty well, minimal issues. This on the other hand is an ass kicker.

If you're looking testers, I'd be happy to jump on board... Just learning to use the kitchen myself, but will give you all the help I can...

what kernel r u using? did u modify the ramdisk correctly? it will boot, i alread had it booted...
