is it possible to do a toggle switch or a widget for a 10MB ram hack boot.img. is it possible to switch back and fourth between boot.imgs to toggle ram hacks? like by the push of a button, add the ram hack and then remove it the same way for 3d
I believe Laszlo has a script in his rom to disable/enable ramhack....check it out.
If not...I know there is at least one rom floating around that has it.

Im still working on it Just need the last file to edit seems everythings set up correct been working with wes on it lol however can't continue till wes is back off his hol seems he's gone to miami lol :/
Problem is, if you're looking for a quick push play game type thing, it won't work as expected. It will be a push, reboot, wait for things to settle, play game thing.

'parse'? there's nothing you can do. you cannot switch kernels without rebooting the phone, period.
I doubt you can enable/disable JIT without a reboot either, since it has to close all programs and rebuild them without JIT.

Apparently Wes said theres a script out there for parsing Jit but im yet to find it XD Im not sure on that anyway spareparts thing im doing is select and reboot anyway so idk lol

Once again, define 'parse'. You *might* be able to get away with toggling JIT without a reboot, but I doubt it.

That makes 0 sense. Do you know what streaming is, or even how JIT works :/ ?
Depending on how well the JIT is coded, it could possibly clear cache and recompile the applications via a toggle switch, but like I said, I doubt the beta Dalvik JIT is that complete :/.

i dont think its that simple, the kernel would need to have the modules compiled for it and deps too.
cant use any apps that require root.. just a heads up.

You aren't too bright for a senior member. Apparently, you didn't notice the version # or the fact that he calls it a BETA! Everyone's eclair is missing something. King's rom has A2SD and swap, CC's doesn't. Not to mention he tells you from the jump there is no WiFi. If you don't like it, then don't flash it.

You are correct. I have been reading the forum for years and this was the first time I posted, mostly because I don't like contributing to back and forth banter like our current discussion. My point was that he isn't new to XDA and therefore knows what a beta is. I also pointed out that King's ROM is sporting features that another eclair is missing. I felt my point was a valid one and had a place on this thread. On the other hand, further argument between us does not. If you want to continue our discussion, we can certainly use the private message feature. No need to lengthen the thread trying to one-up each other. Agreed?

do not use the screen for navigation. it will FC. just push the button on the bottom left of the expresso bar and use the trackball to go to settings/applications/manage applications. now you use the touch screen and go to HTCsense and click it. clear defaults, press home and choose nexus launcher. tada now experience JIT and all its kinda goodness lol. i do not think market works but if enough people want jit, i will make a JIT enabled rom with no sense for damages new release.

thats how it goes with the hero lol. and also i noticed from watching your thread that people got up to activating and JIT and they used the first method with sh sync and i hate that way. chmod 644 is alot easier.

HTC apps(as in lockscreen and Sense) don't seem to work well at all with JIT. not surprised, though.
the current release of JIT floating around is incomplete, thats the problem.

yeh hopefully when we get dalvik turbo which is made by totally different people as JIT then we will have that 200% increase and the amazing sense speed they got.

well i know there is a complete torrent out there but i cant remember for anything the website i saw it on. its the same dalvik turbo in the video that showed 200% speed gains. but when i search torrents for it i just get turbo trojans

Nah, fell into permalock.20 minutes later pulled the battery.
Been running JIT on dc v1 for a few days now, but using gde homescreen (I like having my extra screens and soft keys). Works great.. minimal to no improvement in the games really, but a huge improvement in the speed of using live wallpapers. Went from not being able to use the fireworks and slide (cube style) from one screen to the next, for example, to being able to no problems now. HUGE difference on live wallpapers. A glitch here and there, a hang up on boot once or twice, but a restart and all was ok. ALMOST able to use as a daily rom with JIT, close enough I do anyways.
edit: didn't mention, but I used the instructions from another thread to just copy over the libdvm.so file to enable JIT, worked fine.

Lol you will definatly notice the best difference when.opening apps and the speed of the keyboard and when installing apps all i did was change 4_5 files this rom is a beast

Yeah, and because of that I was actually expecting Spare Parts to be a fork of enom's N1 Spare Parts source, but a decompile (thanks, apktool!) shows that's almost certainly not the case, because then my code originating from GUSTO would have been in there as well.
The expsetup scripts were pulled from TheOfficial v2.5.1, which makes sense as expsetup (though not the library, which both expsetup and GUSTO call into) was stripped down in v2.6.x due to the inclusion of GUSTO.
There's good reasons to use enom's init scripts, though, including a very flexible a2sd implementation with regard to partition layout, so I can certainly understand.
I doubt enom has a problem with it, but though I occasionally try, I cannot speak for him. In any case, it is considered good practice to acknowledge the source of such things in the OP.
EDIT: Incidentally, while I'm not that familiar with smali, from what I can tell the Spare Parts options in question don't have any system behavior hooked up to them. They're just updating some application shared preferences.

This is MY perfect rom right now (since last nite), and since i am a mod FREAK its got a little bit for everyone.Since 2.1 i have been searching for Working lwp's that DO NOT revert, i have posted fixes in the past and in this rom i have incorporated what i have learnedinto a rom build that they work awesome with so i had to make this, plus with flipz vanilla lockscreen i couldnt help myself. MY GOAL with this mod was to include things everyone has asked for in the community and put it together for the ppl thatdont know enough yet to do it themselves....Soooo if ONE person likes it ill be happy READ THE DESCRIPTION! if this does not sound good to you DO NOT DL, and DO NOT whine, go start a new thread and cry there... THIS is my perfect rom and i figure if its good enough for me, th3n i should share.Im putting together a package of my favorite lwps, my faves are nmod,starfield(200 stars or less),zoomfield&pop squares,tunnel(space setting),earth rot,substrate is kinda boring but its works good NOW on to the fun stuff...

Have yet to get lwp's on a rom I like. From the sound of it this could be an awesome rom. Hopefully everything works im excited for this one.

I could do it where it is aosp when you dial but when you talk or recieve a call it goes back..... TRUST ME i tried MANY DIFFERENT WAYS....

Lol, I believe you, how about taking off the photo stock and adding the Gallery3D - I think people like that better, or course as long as it works fast with no lags and that can do landscape without issues or escaping from it without crashing the phone I am sure you know what I mean.
Ohh now that we are talking about ASOP, anyway to get the Android KB on this OMG that would be the blast, it can make this ROM unique from the others.

trust me...its unique, the only reason its not in there is because when i sign into google 50000 times a day,aosp has no .com or long press # buttons. Ill put one up like that anything else???

Hey, good work and thanks for developing the ROM, I'll test once you have a link... but in the meantime, could you please fix the front page... at least use some formatting and make it a little less disorganized? I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I'm sure it'll help you if your front page has a coherent flow instead of a "all-in-one-paragraph" style format.... or maybe that's just what I think.

This thread will either be closed or changed to a generic AOSP 2.2 rom.
In the mean time Darchstar and crew has a Cyanogenmod 6.0 Froyo 2.2 Heroc ROM out.

In case your wondering 5.451 MFLOPS Linpack and 440 quadrant with jit enabled overclocked to the max and a couple secret tweaks. Others have reported higher on quadrant.

If you want the TouchWiz launcher it's in the nexus forums. It can now be installed like a normal apk on any 2.1 or 2.2 rom without modifying the frameworks. There still needs to be some resizing done to it but it runs very well.

by and far a dirty port, but good work none the less. logger keeps complaining about dbus daemon if ya didn't know. also, try using the libGLES_android.so from the sdk to fix the launcher fails, all the while removing whats left in the egl directory, btw, still no sound :-/ . gunna check out why

also, why did u take out the libdvm.so? no jit without it

ill have a look tomorrow if i get some time. good work. its half baked but awesome for sure. were pretty much fighting a losing battle till we get source. but this is a good way to get out "froyo/its broke, gotta fix it" fix till then. good work zenman.
