Missing DRM apps on 2.2 - Nexus One Themes and Apps

Hey forum! I recently installed froyo on this beautiful nexus one. I must say I am impressed. I am having a problem getting my paid apps that were protected via DRM though. Here's the life cycle.
Purchased stock N1 with 2.1> Manual install of 2.2 from official Google servers (stock manual update)> DRM apps worked just fine.> Factory reset phone> DRM apps no longer available in market even tho I purchased them and kept receipts.
Everything else works just fine though.
Any insight to this problem would be appreciated. Thanks community!

[Q] Sgs2 stolen

My sgs2 got stolen today. Sad day..
Is their any way to track that phone down? Localize it or something?
Rooted + cyanogenmod9
Still have the original ticket(invoice)
Reward?
This may not work since you have a non-official ROM on your phone...

If it doesn't work then I'd recommend reporting the phone as stolen so you can claim a new one on insurance.

Use "Plan B" its a free app that installs remotely on your phone by signing in into your google play account. Good luck, let us know how everything works out
Yes. Plan b.
Install from your computerat play.google.com. Log in and push app to your phone. It sends you emails of where your phone is.
I want to see how this pans out.
i have used "plan b" b4 and it works like a charm if you still have some juice or if the thief hadn't reset it yet give it ago and track the bugger and be sure to smash the guys head in and nick your phone back and also take his
hope you find it
How about using Samsung push?

I tried Plan B, just out of curiosity, and found that it installed but did not run. You can't make an app that automatically runs when it's installed. That would be a massive security violation. I don't even know if it can be installed as a service so that it runs when your phone reboots - I don't think it can.
paintball23456 above is the only person I've ever seen say it works. It certainly didn't for me.

It worked for me.
Somewhere is a thread about it. I was just testing it while it was in my living room. I went into my office and pushed it to the phone. It installed and ran. Then sent me emails to my gmail address with the location of the phone.

[Q] Unroot ICS

Hi, I'm posting here because I couldn't find an answer yet to this. How do I unroot ICS if I wanted to? The file on the development section to root ICS doesn't have an unroot.bat like the GB version had.
Thanks!
Well, nobody knows about this??
Bump!

I'd say app like root keeper has feature for temporary unroot (though I have not validated this) which may address your concern partially.
All the top developers are furiously working on unlocking the bootloader (including bounty, free my bootloader online campaign) but otherwise though even I have this query (but honestly there seems no good reason to unroot), I am sitting tight for the good news after which it'll be all split wide open.
What I am perplexed is we see each & every system being hacked but despite intensely talented developer pool how this one bootloader unlock is elusive (with the unlock bootloader available for certain Moto phones officially, I'm sure it is only a matter of time until all hear the biggie, waitin!)

[Q] New to VZW SGS III - Wifi Hotspot Question

Hi Everyone,
I have been a long time reader of these forums and even though I have not posted, I have loaded many ROM's on my old Samsung Droid Charge. I have been looking through the ROM's and there are a lot for this phone. I am already rooted and running twrp recovery, so I'm looking for a ROM to load.
My problem is that all of them seem to have the hacked hotspot. Since I already have access to the hotspot because of my plan, I was wondering if there is a way to restore the stock tether/wifi hotspot functionality to any ROM I load. Is there a single .apk or possibly multiple .apk's that I can load from recovery?
Thanks in advance for any replies.
Its the same as the stock this one just bypasses verizons check. I used to pay for the hotspot too and use the hacked free ones with custom ROMs. Same thing. I haven't played for it for about 4 months and I use it regularly with my nexus 7. Never been bothered by verizon about it

You should never pay for tethering a phone that it's capable of doing it out of the box. Verizon no longer blocks tethering apps either because the government jumped on their ass

Six Guns + Shield

Hey sorry if I'm doing this wrong I'm not much of a forum dweller..
I just purchased an nVidia Shield, it has already been upgraded (or downgraded) to 4.4.2. It is not rooted. I really like it so far however I am trying to get Six Guns working, currently with vanilla Play Store it is not available for this device.
I got it working just fine on my rooted Galaxy S3, as well as Battlefield Commander, using the guidance of the XDA thread, market helper and xposed.
I've been searching high and low and all I can find are directions for rooted devices. I am on an extended vacation (will be here for another 3 months) so rooting is not an option unless it can be done without a PC.
I am also not a fan of cracked/blackmarket .apk's. Would anyone be so kind as to point me in the right direction?
Again I apologize if I've missed a thread explaining this, not easy when I don't have a PC in front of me. Cheers!

Shield can be rooted with an apk. Just download and run it.

Yaa? Well that's superb, thank you,, I'm used to doing everything the manual way, are you certain it will work? Has anyone else given it a go?
I used it on my att Galaxy Note 3 and it worked so I tried it on my shield. It takes longer than the 15 secs it says to wait so after pushing the button in the app just let it sit until it reboots. After reboot install the SuperSU in from my thread then run it to update the binaries. You shouldn't have a problem. I was also able to unroot my note 3 easily from within the SuperSU app. Also this method doesn't wipe your data so that's a big plus for me. I've been wanting to root but didn't want to wipe my data.

Awesome I'll definitely give it a try, just sort of waiting for one more person to share their experience with this method.
I was never worried about brick'ing in my s3 as I can easily get that sorted. The Shield is one of those niche products though, I'm not even sure how I could recover it if something went wrong.
Out of curiosity did you update to 4.4.2 or did you stick with 4.3?
Thanks again you've been a great help! E>

I'm on 4.4.2. If your worried about bricking I would start looking at and getting familiar with the restore process just in case, but it pretty straight forward. Go to the ATT Note 3 forum. They've been using this apk to root so you can see if there has been any ill effect of using it. Glad I could help.

Is anyone having issues with this new update. Samsung Wallet and Chrome seem to be a hit or miss for me. I'm refreshing and going to see if something wonky happened with my first update of the device.
All good for me
You could try booting into recovery mode and clear memory cache first.
